location and pool
Easy to find, be easier if direction of travel on M62 was mentioned Radio facility did not work
Well mannered helpfull staff.Good facilities and set just out of town away from noise.Good standard of cleanliness Menu in restaurant not very accomodating. Not a lot to choose from
The calm air and proffessionalism of all the staff, made me feel very welcome and secure. The checking out time could have been a little later at the weekends.
Hotel location close to city and highway
Really helpful staff Hotel is shabby and needs updating
It was convenient to the M62 The Television did not have cefax, Breakfast was extra
The hotel was quite good in all areas I thought the quality of food for dinner and breakfast was very poor
The breakfast choice was very good The bed & pillows were very hard
The hotel was warm, friendly and clean. The breakfast was particularly good as it was cooked fresh.
Attentive and eager to please staff. Good breakfast Central location makes for easy walking to town centre Some aspects of cleaning.
The staff were very welcoming and helpful eg we were able to leave our luggage and pick it up later. The room was clean, quiet and pleasant and the facilities good. Nothing...all good
Good breakfast, excellent staff, clean and comfortable room. No bar or lounge.
Pleasant staff, comfortable room. Good breakfast, good price. Central location None
helpful staff, lovely and warm on a freezing weekend, comfey beds, and central to city. no bar, but reccommended great real ale pub 5mins walk away.
Hotel needed some TLC around the edges but staff very helpful. Good value. Furrniture in the room needed updating.
I found the cambridge lodge to be in great location, staff friendly and room very clean and comfortable
Very central, friendly staff. Comfy room. None whatsoever
The staff were excellent, made sure everything was to our satisfaction. Nothing
The staff were extremely helpful, polite, and welcoming on every level. the rooms were very warm and very clean, and we had an excellent nights sleep. The breakfasts were freshly cooked to order and there was plenty of variety. The hotel was very close to the town centre.
It was lovely & warm The shower could do to be a bit more powerful!!
The area and appearance
Close to the event we were attending at Brockholes and the warm friendly atmosphere. Noise from upstairs and outside car door banging.
the meals were great
Chosen on the net No
friendly staff who changed our room from the attic area to first floor rather old fashioned and dowdy
very enjoyable. The hotel provided a fine menu for an evening meal but what impressed me was the attention to detail in the room. No
the food was lovely and staff very friendly. n/a
Friendly staff, good beer, big breakfast (couldn't eat it all), excellent location for Picturedrome i.e next to it! Car park is a bit tight but I managed to squeeze into the last space. Anyone arriving after me would have struggled.
The hotel met all of my expectations no
Plenty of good wholesome food in large portions. The room was far too hot and a little noisy.
very central, easy to find, food was very good and reasonably priced. drink prices were more expensive than other establishments around this area.
the hotel was very central & on site parking was available, the breakfast was perhaps the best "english" I have ever experienced the room was a bit small & dated
Staff very good, the hotel was spotless and the service was very good The Matress on the Bed in our room was very uncomfortable causing us to wake on and off all during the night
I wanted a comfortable room in pleasant surroundings and quality food. This is what I got. No.
Very nice hotel that is close to town and just off the motorway. The room was very clean and nice hot shower - all added up to a great nights sleep - topped off with a great breakfast.
The breakfast facilities were very good, staff were efficient and the full English breakfast was excellent Loose toilet seat. Faulty radiator valve,.
The location of the hotel and the attached restaurant are the main attractions for us. This was our third stay at the Briar Court in as many months and we use it as a convenient stop-over enroute between Essex and Fife. There seem to have been computer related problems with our reservation made via Booking.Com in that the requested rear-facing ground floor rooms (2) were not available due to "weekend cleaning staff leaving some rooms unprepared." This minor issue was resolved to some extent but I got little sleep that night as the allocated room was facing the busy main road.
Rooms really had a fresh smell The wifi internet connection only works at a few rooms, access is arranged in a old fashioned way.
The staff were very helpful
Easy to find and a very friendly reception Pillows were very uncomfortable. Radiator was either full on or full off, making room either too hot or too cold. No restaurant in hotel - only the Italian linked to the hotel, which had a 1 hour waiting time.
We were very impressed with Chris on Reception. He could not have been more helpful in sorting out a room for us. All staff were very courteous and we enjoyed our stay with you.
It was good to stay at a hotel where the atmosphere was relaxed and also have the added bonus of polite staff There was nothing I didn't like
The hotel is clean and quite adequate for an overnight stay. The room was a fair size and in good order. The only negative comment is that the bed was very uncomfortable (old and poor quality mattress) and the duvet was quite small for 2 adults to share. See above.
the food and steak was fantastic - he room itself was rather small but very cosey It was a shae we had to be out by 11am - but hey ho all good things have to come to an end
The high level of customer service
enjoyed a weekend and was value for money with good staff
They had their heating on as one would expect and it was very warm inside when it was minus 8/9 outside. The buildimng did not look new so we were impressed with their heating system!!
Excellent rooms and food
Room was pleasant and clean, staff were freindly and helpful - Evening menu was varied & the food was excellent
Location and friendly-ness of staff
Very friendly and helpful staff. very happy - everything was ok
Ease of access from motorway. Price
Convenient for the occasion we had to attend Unfortunate about the noise from the adjacent motorway. No lift to rooms. Not able to have dinner there on Monday evening
nice bar; pleasant staff; pleasant rooms; nice food lumpy pillow
we were made very welcom as soon as we entered the place the freindly service and wonderfull staff
Location. The hotel needs a lot of updating and a freshen up as it looks very tired!
Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Rooms where ok and clean, although you couldn't hear the motorway with the windows closed you were always aware it was there. Nothing in particular except if it had been summer and you wanted a window open then the noise of the motorway
felt at ease as a lone traveller. My room was at the top in the corner and the windows did not open at all which felt a bit clostraphobic and unsafe. All of the services eg.room service was not displayed in my room.
Accommodated early arrival (11:00am) from Airport after overnight flight. Friendly, cheerful, and very helpful staff. For us this is the primary thing that defines the hotel as a place we'll return to when in the area. Located close to M62. Excellent green space in hotel grounds. Accommodations fairly dated but kept well maintained and clean. Quite a bit of ongoing renovation in the common areas while we were there. Staff were taking special care to ensure guest safety and minimize any inconvenience. One of the outer pair of doors on the main entrance had a faulty closing mechanism and people entering and leaving were not closing it manually. Made for a chilly experience getting in and out (January in Yorkshire).
it was ok friendly staff heating and the loss of power on the last night of my stay
Friendly staff, although a bit quite on a Sunday evening. Nothing
