Traditional Japanese House in Kamakura

Good service, location, space and value. I had a good relationship with the staff. Traditional experience, and it was a cheap price for so many people. The garden next to our room was super beautiful and the room was big and spacious. Onsen nearby. The rooms and host were nice. Very traditional style room. Wide room. We were told to stay at an air-conditioned room instead of the fan room since it was not occupied. It was wide enough for me and my friend. We also had a private shower room and a restroom. Plus we were allowed to check-out a few minutes after the designated time. If you like old Japanese houses, then you’ll love it. Waking up to the birds chirping, and working in a quiet environment, then this is for you. I had a great time staying in a beautiful traditional Japanese home. The futon was quite hard to sleep on for me. I had a painful back and kept waking up. The room gets very cold if not heated for hours. Smelly and damp bedding. Cold and dirty room. The bugs, the shower drain was clogged from the start, and the electricity was not always functional. We stayed in a separate annex. Please don't go there! The door didn't close completely. So you can't change clothes quietly, for example. A spider appeared just as we entered. I understand that because it is a mountain, spiders appear but the man who received us only scared and she went under the tatami. We had to sleep on the futon that is on the floor and afraid of the spider. Night lighting was only from a dim lamp. It looked like a house that had been abandoned for a long time. The bathroom was stinking. And the place in general was dirty. It was a shock since we arrived but it was late and we had nowhere to go. We paid for two nights and only stayed one. We lost a day of travel, money and had stress. The futon was a bit uncomfortable and not super big for a couple. Also the toilet is a bit difficult to use if you’re a woman (too close to the wall), not very spacious. The beach close to the guest house is not a proper beach to relax, but you can take the train and go to Enoshima, Yuihagama or Zushi. Trying to figure out how to pay the next day. We could hear footsteps from the adjacent rooms which is understandable since it’s an old Japanese house. The shared bathroom can be crowded if there are many guests so be prepared to wait in line. Noise late into the night. Facilities are not well-maintained. No corona prevention measures. My room wasn’t ready. The first room i was shown was quite dark. The showroom door was broken. Didn’t consider there’ll be a possibility i would hear conversations from the next room while in the common area.
