10.0 Excellent
Pros: This accommodation was the crown of our trip, everything was so perfect in this place, a lot of details, you can see that the place is run by a lot of love and passion. Breakfast is very comprehensive and tasty. Free coffee, tea, water all day long. Beach less than 5 minutes away. Simply good vibe!
Cons: Everythin was so perfect!

Pros: Green’s is amazing! Ali, the manager, is very attentive and kind and all the staffs are very helpful and friendly. Nungwi is an amazing beach with happy people around. The room is very clean and WiFi works very well. I really enjoyed my ten days off in Zanzibar!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything: it is only 5min from the beach, quit, comfy, Manager and all the staff were lovely, sparkling clean, with a personal touch each day, welcoming complimentary, hot water, an amazing breakfast more than complete, facilities are really made to feel relaxed in a green environment. I will definitely come back and recommend this exceptional place. Thank you for all the staff who made our stay excellent. Asante sana and Hakuna Shida
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Green's Nungwi is litterally a green oasis in the village. Sincerly recommend to all solo travellers as well as famillies and couples. The personnel is very friendly and easy going, they go above and beyong to satisfy your requirements. Clean place, very good food and friendly atmosphere. If I have a chance to visit Nungwi again I will not hesitate and contact them again. Thank you Green's Nungwi for making my stay awesome!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They give us nice information and service always for us to have a nice stay. Food, restaurant recommendations, laundries care and city walking ... whatever! The people stay here definitely should ask anything to them for information... that will make your stay here more and more good. Thanks!
Cons: Nothing. They are always clean and friendly this is why we extend out stay here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: They all have enough breakfast, water dispenser, amenities for bath room and equipment for drying clothes. Those are good enough for us to stay this kind of place like we often go swimming in the sea. They give us enough information to stay and especially for the restaurant they recommend was really nice local food we wanted. Cheap and nice. We went there every night.
Cons: Nothing. The location is not quite near to everything but it’s walking distance. This is the only thing that I can say something can be better, but it’s not their fault.

Cons: Internet - was not so good Upon arrival we got a room without sea view with a lot of excuses Dinner every second day is not a buffet which leaves no options due to poor menu
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every single thing. This place is perfection
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The resort is perfect. A paradise. The food is great. The staff very friendli and helpful. We walk around but this is the best resort I ever been. The beach is clean and you can swim even when is a law tide.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property and place itself is just paradise. So much thought has gone into the decor and flow of the hotel. The rooms are so luxurious and have a very cool oriental feel with modern African touches. Having an outdoor shower is such a great addition... adds to the whole jungle atmosphere! Housekeeping was great and everything always in its place and beautifully cleaned. We enjoyed the balcony space and all the little extras that made it so personal. They have a lovely yoga deck, we joined a meditation session there one morning and it was so relaxing. Encouraging a really healthy vibe in the resort. Restaurants were beautifully designed and the beach bar was definitely the best by far in terms of service and attentiveness. We have to mention our highlight which was the sunset cruise with Amani! He was so caring and professional. Wanting us to have the best time and talking to us about Zanzibar and all it had to offer! Not to mention a perfect sunset sailing along the coast.
Cons: We were very disappointed with our check in on the day of arrival. It really put a dampener on the start of our trip. We were told our room wasn’t ready and they would take us to the beach bar and come and collect us when it was. We had to ask twice and waited three hours before the room was ready. When we got there our luggage still had to be delivered and it was a shame to start the trip so unprofessionally. Additionally the service at the restaurants was very poor. They are lovely people and very friendly but there is a distinct lack of understanding of time and looking to see if guests need more drinks or are finished with each course. This was made more disappointing on our last night where we paid extra for a seafood bbq on the beach. We had to call someone over anytime we wanted to order anything, top up our own water and wine and when we had finished main course all the other tables had left and they closed the kitchen. Then trying to offer us desserts from a different menu. This didn’t in any way ruin the overall experience as it was a beautiful place with beautiful people. There should just be some more thought gone in to the service standard.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Great beach and location. Beautiful swimming pool. Very good team at the water sports centre.
Cons: Terrible smell of mould (mildew) and damp in the room that made it difficult to breathe and permeated all of our clothes and luggage. This mildew infested all of our belongings. It was so bad that it settled on all items that were in the room, including all clothing, all bags and even on small items such as hair brushes and phone cases. The management refused to acknowledge this or to fix the problem correctly despite our complaints upon arrival. They assured us that it was a natural smell from the thatched roof. We now have to have all of our belongings professionally cleaned to see if they can be saved or are ruined forever. As we became accustomed to the smell during our stay, we did not realise how bad it was until we left the resort and could smell the mildew on all of our belongings. This could have posed a serious heath risk (especially as we were staying with our children) and it is not something that we should have been exposed to at all. Inconsistent staff attitude, some very friendly, but some very rude. Food offering was poor (main restaurant was acceptable, but the offerings at the other restaurants were not executed correctly). F&B manager was very friendly and tried to resolve all the issues, but he was the only one that seemed to genuinely care and make a difference to the service. The other managers did not once follow up on the issues mentioned above. Beautiful surroundings overshadowed by room issues and inconsistent service.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Set on a beautiful part of Nungwi beach that makes perfect Zanzibar pictures..... just amazing for a chilled out holiday. The staff were very helpful and happy and the resort Manager Chris was a credit to the company. We would definitely recommend for a few days and the food was good too.
Cons: The poverty outside the resorts are on full view. The roads are dirty tracks with massive pot holes. It’s a shame the hotels can’t use some of their income to tarmac their approach roads . If you can get past this and just enjoy the piece of paradise then choose Sandies Baobab

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff! They were so helpful! They gave us great advise on where to eat and even organized a very good priced taxi for us! The rooms are huge and very nicely decorated. You feel very comfortable. The breakfast! It was soooo much! Everyone saying here it was simple is simply nuts! You get a huge plate of fresh cut fruits, pancakes, bread, egg in whatever way you want, smoothie freshly made....delicious! We had to give a 10....it is the best you can get for that money in Nungwi....you get way more than you pay for.
Cons: There is nothing we did not like.

Pros: Staff were exceptional! Very accommodating, fresh fruit and small breakfast daily.
Cons: The beds we a little small- Im 5'11" and my feet hung off the bed a little.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: All other aspects were great.
Cons: No mosquito net. Quite hard bed mattress.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were fantastic; super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was huge, I've never seen such a large plate of fruit for one person!! I liked that although there weren't facilities in the room - there was 24-hour tea and coffee making facilities. Location was quite good, just back from the beach and super close to food options - I'd recommend Waves for lunch/dinner!
Cons: The showerhead had to be adjusted to try and get a bit more water out of it and it still wasn't a decent flow of water. There is no curtain on the shower so the water goes all over the bathroom floor. Towels weren't replaced in four nights which normally wouldn't bother us but as we needed to use some of them to mop up the floor they got visibly dirty and it would have been nice to just have those ones replaced. Definitely basic but great for the price and service!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Breakfast was lovely, the staff were so friendly and so helpful, would always make sure you are getting the best deals on trips and just ensuring you have a comfortable stay. The rooms were also really clean!
Cons: Nothing! It was all we could have asked for in Nungwi.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts service was perfect, starting from the presentation , they took time to show us the room ، the house , the way to the beach and the good restaurant. The room was clean and confortable. The breakfast was excellent with fruits and a very delicious fresh juice . If you need taxi or to do boat trip or any activity , ask them because you will not find cheaper. They are very very helpful, we forgot some clothes in the hotel tito bring it to us by himself the next day. Thank you so much .
Cons: Nothing Rien

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Aside from waking up to the incredible ocean every morning, every single member of staff went above and beyond at every single minute of every single day.
Cons: The food quality was always amazing but The buffet food could get a bit samey, especially in the morning for breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent food selection and quality. Perfect location!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything really. The rooms are great, spacious and cleaned meticulously everyday! The pool area was clean, not too noisy and no fighting for sun beds. Food was excellent everyday and always something a little different. They did two speciality dinner evenings with entertainment and a different setting (beach area). I think what really makes this place is the staff. All staff from the gardeners to the managers are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. All the staff are great, but Anna, Kadjadja (I think) and Ali from the entertainment team really helped to make our time special. Cocktails and all drinks were excellent too and all alcohol was branded not local copies like we have experienced in the past. Thanks to everyone at Riu Palace.
Cons: We had to leave.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: the quality of food and sport activities included on the price. By the way, everything was perfect.
Cons: The "beach boys" are quite annoying during sunbathing on the beach with their sale requests. Internet signal should be more powerful inside the rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the professionalism of the staff. The restaurants and the facilities. We come to Nungwi every year and this hotel is by far the best we stayed at. It exeeded our expectations and the management is beyond great. Recommend this hotel 100%.
Cons: Everything was perfect

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Makofi Guest House is the place to stay if you're ever in Nungwi. Everything here is perfect, from top to bottom. The facility's gets cleaned everyday, and the food there is really good. When you check in, you get greeted with the biggest smile you'll ever see. They make you feel at home right from the start. The bar area have some swings where you can sit and relax, listen to music that plays on the speaker, they play some very nice tunes. You can also relax on the bench right outside your room if you feel like it. The rooms are very nice and clean. They also have different type of games (card, basketball, dart) if you want to enjoy it with your friends and family. Definitely going to stay at Makofi when I'm back in Nungwi!

9.0 Excellent
Pros: 2 minute walk from the beach, friendly and helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, easy to meet other travellers, felt safe.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the ambiance of the place, very chill and cozy. Breakfast is SUPERB ! I liked the way we all sit down on the same table, very friendly place :) At every room/dorm, there is a little balcony :) It’s 2 minutes away from the beach! We were supposed to stay one night, we ended up staying 3 nights !!
Cons: Nothing, it was perfect !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A place to chill. Perfect to stay for a couple of days!!! The beach is nearby!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very Friendly and accomodating staff. The vibe in the comon grounds was very pleasent and easy going. Not far from the beach, and few restaurants are arround the corner. We really enjoyed the BBQ night. Great food, fresh, perfectly cooked and with lots of selections for both Veg and non Veg.
Cons: Facilities are quite basic, but in a good standard. There is no aircon, but we had 2 fans in our room, so even though the room did not have good ventilations, the fan help the air to circulate a bit. Keep in mind that this is one of the cheapest options availble and thus you are getting what you paid for.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location obvs couldn't be any better! The food in the restaurants is very good especially the sea food place! The cocktails served on the rooftop were quite good as well! I also liked the general style & vibe of this place.
Cons: We stayed in the 2nd biggest suite the hotel has which was amazing. BUT the wifi in this building was not working. I was talking to the "IT guy" and the guys at the reception for 3 days in a row to please fix the wifi in out room but they didn't. Anywhere else in the hotel the access points we're connecting easily. Just not in our room. I know you don't have to be on the internet the whole time on vacation and blabla but for someone who needs to be connected for business reasons and doesn't feel like sitting near the reception at 11pm this is bad!
8.0 Excellent

Pros: I had a great honeymoon their , everything was great, the staff are so friendly ,the place is so clean and well decorated. I really enjoyed the stay their.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this place was beautiful. The staff were so accommodating and nothing was to much to ask. Beautiful setting and surroundings. 30 second walk form the white sand and clear blue sea beach.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice ambiance. Small and friendly. Staff excellent.
Cons: Maybe a bit expensive overall.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff was ultra helpful! Wine prices were reasonable w/ a few good selections. Beach was a very short walk, 3 minutes from the front gate! Lots of nearby restaurants to select from, in addition to Aluna’s fine choices.
Cons: IMO, they played games work currency exchange rates. Too detailed to explain but, ultimately not a big deal. After all, we were on holiday!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was fantastic - little touches like the Masai given positions as security really showed care and attention. The rooms were excellent and the surroundings beautiful.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Aluna hotel has a perfect territory like a jungle! We loved it sooooo much! Two swimming pools, an amazing big room with an outstanding shower place. The breakfast was also delicious with good coffee and unlimited fruits and pancakes with Nutella.
Cons: The location is not directly at the beach but we didn't mind to walk for 3 min. The most important thing that this part of Nungwi is very "local" and dirty. To achieve a good part of the beach u need to walk approx 20 min through not so pleasant area. It's not about safety it's more about not so nice emotions. And plus after the sunset to come back at the hotel in the pure darkness is not so pleasant experience. But the hotel has its own tuk-tuk so u can go at the nice part of nungwi or kendwa with that (5000 tzs and 10000 tzs accordingly). The service works good and fast and the driver is very interesting guy:)
7.9 Good
Pros: The place is in an outstanding condition and maintenance. The owners take care of every little detail (e.g. enough place to hang your towels & clothes)and that is why this hotel is stunning!
Cons: The location is quite off the centre of Nungwi and if you step outside the walls of the hotel there is no vibe, atmosphere or something to see. In general Nungwi was not our place in Zanzibar (you pay a lot for thinks to do , but actually all activities are overrated for the price).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were super friendly and much helpful and the place was beautiful.
Cons: I would’ve liked The chance to have a tv on the room but I also understand the vibe they are going for.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We wanted something different than your standard touristy resort on the beach and Anita's place was exactly that! Cute, clean and in a perfect location. Beach is 5 seconds away and I loved the short walk on the beach to the area restaurants. Anita was very helpful and nice; she told us about the locals, gave recommendations on places to go and eat and helped us with transportation.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful localization of the property, the opportunity to have dinner by the pier and the crew members were amazing.
Cons: Wifi was not working properly during our stay, even in the room we couldn't have access to internet. The maintenance is something to care about, our shower was not working well through the whole stay.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: We arrived in the early hours of the morning, it would have been great if the receptionist was on the desk to check us in immediately.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The pool is phenomenal! The juices and mocktails on offer are delicious and the pool service was wonderful. All the staff at the resort were very friendly and accommodating. The staff and the pool are the resort's greatest strengths.
Cons: The food selection was very limited and what there was lacked quality. The kids club is run down. Many parts of the resort are dated, thus feeling it was overpriced. The TV in the room had a grainy picture the whole time but we only watched a little in the evenings.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We ventured here after safari, wanting to have a bit of relaxation time after being up at 5:30am for multiple days straight! The hotel grounds are quite beautiful and lush. The cottage we stayed in was very clean, comfortable, and well air conditioned! We really loved the room and it was comfortable for 3 adult friends, each with our own beds (two twins and a pull out couch). There were two dining options - a restaurant near the pool and one out the jetty walk at the end of the pier. It offered beautiful sunset views and a nice place to enjoy a drink! The pool was nice and didn't feel overly crowded while we were there.
Cons: For the half board option, we thought the dinners were just OK. One night we had to wait an hour to get our food and the restaurant was not full. The kitchen appeared understaffed that night as we weren't the only ones waiting. The first night, my kebabs were so over cooked I couldn't eat them. For what we paid, the food could have been better. Though if you don't do the half-board option, you are venturing out at night to another hotel/resort to dine, which we didn't want to do. For the convenience of it, it was better to choose that option. We also tried the spa and one of us had the unfortunate experience of having mildewy towels used on her during her facial. Disappointing when you are paying a lot of money for those services and that's the quality you receive. We also asked about specials when we went in and were told there weren't any, then after we paid for the services, found a brochure offering discounts.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location out of the hords of other tourists. Bike rental. Every evening the different location of dinner. Sometimes the entretaiment. Big pool. Nice green garden inside.
Cons: The hotel didnt accept our cc, so we paid by bank transfer, but hotel didnt get the money, the reservation was canceled....so the communication was poor. Sometimes we had to wait long time for the dinner, more than one hour.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is absolutely beautiful, private jetty with a restaurant on it, huge pool overlooking the ocean, it's absolute paradise. Super friendly staff. Great room. Beautiful gardens. Half-board is great value too!
Cons: Unfortunately the wifi is pretty bad. I mean, you wanna be coming here to get away from it all since its such an incredible place, but if you do need to be sending things for work and need decent wifi it would be a little frustrating.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Stuff were super nice
Cons: There is no beach near the hotel , there is only rocks and water, the pool wasn't so clean, hotel incerage you to ask for a taxi to the beach which is 15 mins away, and just an average beach as well. The rooms are not more then fine and not clean enough for 5 star rating in my opinion.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The infinity pool with the sea view and pier are unforgettable. The bungalows are space full and placed in a beautiful garden. Perfect location for honeymoon or family holiday. Rooms are clean, space full and staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: Drinks at the bars and restaurants are little bit overpriced compare to the competitors. So were the spa services. The bed mattress was bit harder.
5.4 Okay
Cons: The receptionist was extremely rude to us! He was shouting at the top of his voice and was being very aggressive. We felt very intimidated and not safe

Pros: Really pretty villa with good facilities. Priska was very friendly and helped sort our travel to our next destination.
Cons: Priska and Mauricio were not there when we arrived therefore we were unable to get into our room. The lock on the gate didn’t work properly which made it difficult to get into the property, especially at night!
7.1 Good
Cons: Nobody was there for a check in The included breakfast was some cereals and a coffee

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent stay, good facilities, beautiful location. Lovely rooms!
Cons: We checked out late and asked for a room to shower and change in before we left, they gave us one of the worst rooms I’ve ever seen also No towels, no air conditioning, no toilet roll, and covered in bugs.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was great - but the hostage was a disaster. We could not even choose available tables as they want to set them up for lunch which was 3 hours later. At the same time other guests were sitting in the same area. Hostage showed minimum service and gave us a table in the dark area of the restaurant. If you pay 400 USD per night - it is OK to require Seaview if tables are available. And they were.
Cons: I was very unhappy with the general service at the hotel. Safety box not working at arrival. Internet did not work in the room. Gym was not manned with staff to explain the machines which were in Italian language. I called for assistance which never came. Room service did not respond when calling. When I asked to talk to a manager they did not call back or show up. Disaster service to the price - not 5 star at all!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The beach.
Cons: The inflexibly of the staff at the beach bar, and the fact that they did not follow the announced times of closure of the bar.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location, food and sunset area
Cons: It was overpriced for the room and facility

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every thing was simply perfect. Service, to room, to location. Couldn't ask for more. Keep it up.
6.3 Good
Pros: The cleanliness
Cons: Food was not good at all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything in this place is high quality. From the amazing pool that continues visually to the sea, to the food, the huge, sparkling clean and new rooms (not to mention the bathroom). The staff is super helpful and professional, attentive 24/7. We felt great and enjoyed our honeymoon a LOT!
Cons: It is located in a quiet place of Nungwi, which was great for us, but it should be taken into account that in order to go to the restaurants in the center of Nungwi, a taxi is needed, and the roads outside the hotel are in a poor condition. It is possible to eat at the hotel but depending on the day it can be a bit pricey.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: view, pool, room service, staff
Cons: They didnt pick us up form the airport as agreed to, we waited on hour and took an expensive taxi
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and efficient
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cozy with ever smiling and welcoming staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was amazing. The hotel is in a remote place on nungwi beach, which for us was perfect. Quiet and relaxing beach, not crowded in comparison to the main area where most of the hotels are. Cabs cost around $10 to Nungwi or Kendwa beaches, therefore not for someone who's looking to stay in the heart of everything. 3 nights a week there's a special dinner with various kinds of entertainment, and during those nights the food was great aswell. The staff were incredible. You can be sure Jemmi, the manager, will go above and beyond to solve any issue (even if it has nothing to do with the hotel, for example a local sim card that suddenly stopped working) and you can tell she's always on top of everyhring. Ali, the excursions manager, was always trying to do his best to help us a lot in figuring what's relevant for us. In general, each and every one of the staff - from gardeners to chefs to waitresses - were always welcoming and trying to make you feel at home away from home. It was really nice to spend our time in a place like this. Bottom line - if you're looking for a real relaxing vacation in Zanzibar, away from the very crowded and touristic areas but in a short ride from there, don't hesitate to stay at Nungwi Dreams.
Cons: The only pitfall for us was the cost of the taxi from the airport booked through the hotel, which is way too expensive ($60, double than it would be with other drivers but thats probably the same with all the other hotels in the area).
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The view is amazing The crew was so welcoming and caring Pool was nice, a little small, buy panoramic and beautiful Friendly and nice people
Cons: The food was not as good as expected for a 5 star hotel. During shower the water switch by itself from hot to cold every few minutes. The location of the hotel is a little too far from town itself
Natural Kendwa Villa - Kendwa - Pool
14
8.7 Excellent (189 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at this villa in Kendwa, you'll be a 1-minute drive from Kendwa Beach and 8 minutes from Nungwi Beach.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Pool area is very pleasant - can be a good place to get away from the busy beach. Small hotel so didn't feel busy at all. Nice selection at breakfast - very similar to other places in Zanzibar of similar size at which we stayed. Beachfront (shared with a different hotel) is very nice and good for swimming at high and low tide. Spa massages offered at reasonable prices. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The double rooms away from the pool are of a rustic nature with the dark walls and lack of lighting making them a bit dark inside although they are perfectly clean. The rooms overlooking the pool appear to be of a completely different, and modern, style which may appeal more to some although come with a higher price. Kendwa doesn't have much to it beyond the beach/resorts and the access roads to/from Kendwa/Nungwi make it a pain to explore that way - fine if you plan to stay at the beach
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice rooms.
Cons: A lot! There was no privacy in the room as the door is a glass door. One afternoon we were taking a nap in an intimate position and we heard knocking and one of the staff was just standing there staring at us. He basically kept looking while we were gathering ourselves and covering up. Very rude and inappropriate. The breakfast didn’t have much variety. The cherry on top is when i was checking out, they wanted to charge me 50 dollars because my friend came to visit and left late at night so they thought he was staying over, i refused to pay but ended up paying 20 $ just to shut them up and leave cuz i was late for the airport. I’m definitely not recommending this property to anyone.
7.0 Good
Pros: Although we faced some problems during our stay the staff tried all their best, were very attentive and upgraded us to probably their best room which was heart warming, as it was our honeymoon and things had not started that well. The breakfast was great and coffee the best we've had in Zanzibar. The staff were always smiling, positive and helpful. The hotel is using Kendwa Rocks' beach area, which worked well for us. Though even during low season it was hard to find a free sun bed.
Cons: We had problems with the airport pick up service which led to a negative first impression. Although we had booked the pick up with the hotel via email once arriving at the hotel they told us that they were not responsible. It took us all of our stay to sort the problem with the taxi company which, of course, takes away the spirit of your holiday. The first room the hotel provided us smelled like mold and had a view over a concrete wall with broken glass on the top. The bed was also quite uncomfortable. Also there were several power cuts during our stay, the first one just when we arrived. But this probably has nothing to do with the hotel.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful setting and great pool
Cons: Rooms looked bigger on the photos, private beach was shared with all other hotels on that beach and open to public.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A sweet little hotel that offers cosy and comfortable rooms. Just 5 minutes away from the beach the location is excellent with a lot of restaurant options around it. The breakfast here is good as well, particularly the pancakes, couldn’t seem to get enough of them
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable spacious room in a quiet calm location.
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff at this hotel are the best thing about it, They are sweet, helpful, and very hardworking. We were offered a 2-hour extended check-out time which we are very grateful for.
Cons: The breakfast was less than average, the bathroom had minimal products (no toothpaste, disposable tooth brush, hair cap, cotton..etc.). The spa was not what I was expecting from a 4 star hotel. The hotel was advertised as a beachfront facility, which is not true. It is situated in Kendwa village, about 4 minutes walk from the beach, but it is not a beachfront hotel. Overall, I felt that we didn't get value for the money we spend at the facility, which is unfortunate because the pool was gorgeous, the staff were AMAZING, but I feel that there s a lot to be improved.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Tastefully done up rooms

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good, out of evverywhere in a very quiet place and in front of the see. The hostel has many equipments and propose a lot of activities. the staff is very friedly
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is very isolated and this is the charm of the place. The area is fully natural and beautiful. The room I had was not very confortable (small and very hot). This is perfect place to relax but don't expect too much confort. The great values are: the beauty of the area, no tourists around, canoe at disposal to visit a beautiful wild small island in front of the coast, beautiful sunset. I loved also the ecologic functionning of the place (solar pan, natural soap)
Cons: It was hard to charge mobile when not sunny and the room was very hot, no air and the fan was not working well
8.8 Excellent
Pros: the breakfast was great, staff were helpful, view was amazing. Some fun materials available (kayak, water shoes, etc) lovely dogs, etc. Electricity is a bit limited at times but staff help with external batteries for your cellphone and the fans mostly held out all night. I also loved how they helped me get a moto taxi :-)
Cons: The place was hard to find as there is no very clear signage. Regrettably the room we had booked had been given to someone else (and we only found out when we arrived. We agreed on a discount for the inconvenience (we had already paid the full amount) and that seemed fair to all people involved. However the last day when settling bills it caused tension between the owner and us (before all seemed well).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was so nice in this place. The food was very good and there is a nice garden in this place. The owner gave us a little tour and a lot of maracujas. Not far away there is a little island where you can walk or kayak to and then spend a few hours snorkeling. It was perfect, the owners provided all the equipment for free and very extreme friendly and helpful. I would definately recommend this place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful peaceful place, comfy bed. Great host. My favourite hostel in Zanzibar.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The vibe was just great. Private, quiet and relaxing.
Cons: Bigger rooms and a better shower
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, secluded place, with excellent, if basic facilities. Free bicycles and kayaks with life jackets and water shoes to borrow. Really laid back place with small bar & Restaurant area, plenty of seating to chill, and a beautiful sunset. At low tide you can walk out to a nearby island in about 30 minutes. We swam/walked out at high tide, much to the amusement of passing fishermen, spent an hour or so exploring the coral island, then swam/walked back, and recovered with a cold beer or two. It is all solar powered, with storage batteries for night time, so you are advised to charge anything you need during the day. As there were only two rooms occupied on our visit, the power lasted all night, so the fan in the room kept us cool throughout. There is no sandy beach, but walking out on the flat rocks watching the crabs and other wildlife is great, and if you want a beach, Nungwi is about 20000/30000 shillings taxi ride away, depending on your haggling skills. The dogs, cats and chickens wandering around are also all laid back.
Cons: Nothing not to like here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was beautiful every morning, came out fresh and hot! Rooms were clean and Mwamba was incredibly accomodating with whatever we wanted to do.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very nice and welcoming. Leah of guest relations is the best!! She helped us with everything we needed during our stay
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything was fine, particularly the location is the best in Nungwi! The sunset is the greatest, the sunrise was just too dreaming, and sandbank suddenly appears in front of the hotel in the afternoon!!!
Cons: Too from the airport and the road was not good condition. But once we get there, everything was perfect!!
7.9 Good
Pros: Good location. Friendly staff. The hotel souvenir shop is well priced to match outside rates.
Cons: The snack bar is open from 1 to 4pm which is the same time as lunch so there's really no snack bar otherwise.
5.1 Okay
Pros: Beach front,To get to location from Airport will take 1hr 30min.Roads are not good ,you go through village not great travel at night roads are very bumpy. Not worth $250 per night with breakfast only
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Booked Doubletree Nungwi but the Kayak stuffed up the booking and created a reservation with a hotel in a different city.
Cons: Wasted over an hour on the phone to Kayak who refused to find us an alternate hotel in Nungwi. Still waiting for a refund. Terrible booking experience. A good way to ruin a holiday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is well located with all facilities. I would highlight the kindness of its staff, they were always aware of us to make the stay as pleasant as possible.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Cleanness Staff were very friendly and showed all the help they could offer namely: salah, ali mousa, mloja mfgale
Cons: Beach area was small
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff are so so kind an make all effort to help you. They will rectify anything that goes wrong. All very happy. The rooms are nice an clean. Hotel is clean an has nice facilities and breakfast was tasty. People all seemed to be enjoying themselves on all inclusive.
Cons: The massage was not great truth be told - deep massage was not so deep, we were lucky we had a voucher otherwise its very expensive. TV reception is bad but you shouldn't be watching TV on holiday. Also shower in room could do with a curtain as water splashes out onto the floor. Very minor in reality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Had the best experience at this resort. Staff was super nice. They remember uour face and make sure you are comfortable and part of the group. Room was stunning and right on the beach
Cons: As a vegetarian, i didn't have too many options. It was either rice with veggies or potatoes. Maybe add more options
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is a great resort, the pool was great & the cocktails and food was amazing. The restaurant changes the food up enough that it stays interesting.
Cons: We did an all inclusive package. We didn’t realise that you could get the ‘better’ cocktails at different bars so bar hopping was a good thing to do because they don’t advertise that u can (the pool bar was limited but at the beach bar you could get spirits etc on the all inclusive). It was disappointing that when the staff saw u had a ‘red’ wrist band meaning all inclusive, they delay the service and u basically have to hunt them down for a drink. Our friends who weren’t all inclusive continually got haggled to buy drinks. We had 2 days were our shower water was cold.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff went out of their way to accommodate us . Always having a happy smile on their faces. The Food and beverage manager was excellent. A big thank you to all the staff
Cons: Firmer pillows. Rooms are rustic, but neat. I think an update will only enhance the experience.

Pros: Veronica and the staff are just amazing, they really make the difference during the stay. I would go back!
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent facilities Lovely and clean Friendly staff Nice location Bravo!!!
5.8 Okay
Pros: The stuff was nice and smiling and very kind They arranged a visit to the village for us They didn’t have yogurt and cereal but they bought them for me (as I asked for them(
Cons: Bedsheets not changed daily (I killed a mosquito and I slept with its blood for the entire vacation... they just changed the orientation of the bedsheet) Some days they just put the shampoo and no shower gel (so we had to have the shower with a single piece of shower gel in 2!) Breakfast very basic and to be improved
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, just a two minute walk to the beach. The breakfast was great, I particularly loved their fresh fruit juices. The food was honestly the best we had while in Zanzibar! All the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, especially Veronicah who went out of her way to make sure we had a memorable experience.
Cons: Dinner orders took quite a long time (almost an hour). But the wait was definitely worth it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and beautiful. The staff is always ready to assist you and help you to enjoy your holiday. Veronica, the manager, is kind and friendly. The kitchen staff amazing. The food is delicious and the position of the hotel is perfect. I recommend this hotel and for sure I will come back.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely helpful. Veronicah is amazing. Everyone was very nice, pointed us to the good spots and made sure all our needs were met. The hotel is great value for money overall.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful, clean and huge apartments. Super familiar atmosphere, everyone was super kind and helpful.
Cons: Everything was perfect! :)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We really liked the staff. All were very smily, cheerful and helpful, especially both of the girls at the reception. We were happy cause we managed to check in earlier and also to check out later -this was great and we appreciate it. We found the room bigger than expected. The beds were very comfortable. There were some flowers arranged beautifully every day on our beds. We were greeted with a nice welcome drink - fresh mango juice. Bottles of water and local tea bags/ instant coffees were provided in the room every day. The rooms were perfectly cleaned. We were almost on the beach, so just two minute walk. Very close to local shops for water and snacks.
Cons: Breakfast could be better - some ham and cheese would be appreciated, as well as an espresso machine for good coffee, cappuccino. The price was a bit too much for a hotel which is not on the beach, without a pool, etc. For the same amount of money you could spent the night in a good three-star hotel in Paris or Rome (even city centre). However, I guess this is because of the popularity of Nungwi. Another thing is that it was noisy (loud music from some local bars) during the night (we were explained that this is because of the weekend). The way to the hotel was very bad but it is not their fault, of course. The prices for transfers and tours were too high.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The members of staff are friendly and very professional. The rooms are well taken care of and the hotel is in ideal proximity to the beach
Cons: They really do not have many options with the breakfast they serve

6.7 Good
Pros: food and beverage was good
Cons: beds are a bit hard, shisha wasnt great
4.2 Okay
Pros: The beach is beautiful The service from the barmen/ladies was excellent.
Cons: BEWARE. There is Construction next door. We stayed for 8 days. 6 of those days all we could hear on the beach was chainsaws, diesel generators and hammers. It completely destroys the “peaceful tropical island vibes” We had so much construction nouse in our room we asked to move. The hotel was “oblivious” of the noise and acted like we are imagining it. THIS IS NOT A 5 star place. I would say 3 stars at best. Understandable, this is Africa, BUT at this price I expected a lot better. (We stayed at another 5star resort on Zanzi and it was much better) Termites in the bed frames, you hear them eating away at night All inclusive only includes buffet restaurant. There is a lot of food options, but most of it repeats between lunch and dinner. Slight variations of the same food all the time... food taste is average as well... Drinks: terrible cocktails, really terrible. Wine included in the all inclusive is a very very cheap South African wine, its so bad. Snorkelling: its great to snorkel right in front of the hotel, BUT there is no designated swimming area. So jet-skis and boats frequently come by you where you are snorkelling. Extremely unsafe. This place is not worth the price at all! Save money and just go stay at a 3 star resort.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing spot, just on the beach. The pool is always great and the staff do their best to make your stay smoth and comfy.
Cons: Everything was great.. bit pricey though
6.3 Good
Pros: There is good food, beautiful room and propety.
Cons: There is to much seller on the beach, it's not possible to find peace. The pool need a refresh. Service is not so good for a "Luxe Hotel"
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms and amazing beach and pool areas.
Cons: The food was below average.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic service
7.5 Good
Pros: The swimming pool and the people
Cons: The canteen decoration and how it is deployed Wine menu is poor and the wine is very bad

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Palumbo Kendwa in Kendwa, you'll be a 1-minute drive from Kendwa Beach and 7 minutes from Nungwi Beach.
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel was very lovely, pretty, green, lots of nice common areas to hang out inside and outside. The food was alright. The staff was lovely. The location is fine, just a short walk to the beach (or use the free hotel shuttle) or nearby restaurants and small local shops.
Cons: I was disappointed by my room, which was very basic and not super comfortable (I had the standard double). The safe is very small (didn't fit my laptop), there were no blankets (only sheets - ok it's never cold...). Be aware that it is pretty difficult to walk around at night, as it's completely dark in the village. I didn't fear for my safety at all, but I was reluctant to go and explore as it's very easy to get lost! No flexibility at all about late check-outs...
5.0 Okay
Pros: Very friendly staff. Great all you can eat dinner.
Cons: Some of the food (milk) was of bad quality.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Nice room with TV and Fridge. Private patio in front of the room (ground floor). Amazing pool open all times. Free shuttle service to the beach and back all day long. Great high viewpoint platform to see kendwa from above. Bufet breakfast and dinner. Very relaxed hotel.
Cons: Loundry behind the room. So little bit nosiy in the morning, since the bathroom has no glass window (only mosquito net) and it is facing that direction.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Big room with a nice view to a large pool (area). The shuttle runs as often as you wish, very friendly of them. The staff takes care of everything you need. The hotel itself is very pleasant and the breakfast is delicious!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All is good at this property. Good WiFi, clean and very comfortable room with TV, good view on the swimming pool and inside territory. The distance to the beach is 10-15 minutes, but free bus drives you there periodically, every N minutes, so really comfortable. Amazing breakfast, we enjoyed it. We loved Kendwa beach. I think for this price it’s one of the best hotels, especially in Kendwa.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the beach, free transportation to the beach, good dinner buffet, good breakfast, nice ambiance.
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great option for Kendwa. Beach transport, good breakfast. Staff members do not speak english very good. There are many Italian guests. Nice pool but almost nobody used it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was friendly.
Cons: We didnt like the foodsystem and the band around the arms! We would like to eat whenever we are hungry and not certain times. We would like to eat some small dishes and not a full buffé. The staff need to learn English not all people are from Italy. It would be very convenient if yhe room had coffe so ypu could make your own the whenever you want.

Pros: The beach was very close and it was spectacular. Vendors were not allowed to bug guests The bathroom was a good size as was the bedroom
Cons: Cats were everywhere even in the restaurant and on your balcony The bed didn’t have a mattress cover and they had acrylic sheets in turquoise blue Nowhere to make tea or coffee

Pros: The location was great with beautiful beach access. Evening Entertainment was fun, as sun goes down pretty soon.
Cons: Our room was based on the hotel, which had many stairs, so every time we need to get something from the room we had to go quite long and tiring way up. Internet connection wad super slow. The beds wasn’t most comfortable also. The rooms walls very thin could hear upstairs having sex half of the nigh and early morning like 5-6am other neighbours children screeming. We stayed there only one nigh as we couldn’t rest at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The deluxe rooms are down on the beach, close to the excellent restaurant. Great beach vibe. The beach sunbed and towel service are fabulous. The restaurant is the tastiest in Kendwa and not expensive. Friendly and helpful staff. The beach is stunning and great for swimming all day since high and low tide are not too extreme. You can swim at any time. Fabulous place. Laid back but wth great facilities and value for money.
Cons: No wi-fi in the rooms, only in the restaurant and beach bar.

Pros: The staff are very friendly. The manager goes out of her way to ensure the guests are comfortable. On our last day, we had an early morning flight but the manager ensured that we had breakfast to carry with us.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The guest relation officer her name is Irene M. Komba.... She is the best she really make the vacation worth it. And makes everything very easy to know and understand. Wow she's been a real diamond to us
Cons: There was no swimming pool and there was no entertainment
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We asked for a breakfastbox because we had to leave early and it was prepared on time. The restaurant is excellent and nice place to be. There is a lounge corner with a poolbiljarttable to play. There is a parking, so you can park safe inside. The room has a balcony, to sit outside. Next to Kendwa Rocks hotel where they have full moonparty's.
