School Farm - Bristol - Room amenity
5
9.8 Excellent (64 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Needed a hotel for a wedding close by. Forget your "cheap" travelodge deals. This was the same price pretty much with a warm friendly welcome fantastic comfortable bed and a very good breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect for its location over looking the reservoir in easy driving distance from Bristol & Cheddar and three good locals and loads of walking. There is a local Londis open 8-8, 7 days a week. Debbie is a fantastic host who goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome from the biscuits in the jar in the ensuite bedroom to the excellent breakfast choices and home made bread and marmalade, I bought a jar it was so good. We even got a lift to the wedding venue there are two both within 2 miles. Finley the Spaniel will keep you busy if you want to throw his ball in the huge garden behind the large gravel off road car park, but if not you wont see him
Cons: Cannot fault this B&B. But if you dont like road noise in the morning as we had our window wide open on both Saturday & Sunday night then dont stay in the front rooms, they have three to choose from. We are used to it so didnt bother us at all. It is also worth noting that there are not many footpaths in Blagdon and the roads are narrow so you have been warned.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic fruit platter, coffee, cooked breakfast homemade bread. Nothing too much trouble and lifts given when we had car problems. Debbie and Nigel very welcoming.
Cons: Room could get very warm and noisy being in the main road. Tower fan provided so able to cool the room well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at School Farm - Debbie and Nigel where wonderful hosts, our room and en-suite was very comfortable and the breakfast was incredible. We particularly loved the homegrown raspberries.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast exceeded expectations and was wonderful - freshly picked fruit and full English, organic and local produce. The bed was large and very comfortable. Debbie, the owner was delightful, friendly and very helpful. The positioning of the establishment was excellent for meals in local places and walking. It is also only 15 minutes from the airport.
Cons: The room looked out on to a road which from 5 am was very busy, and because it was summertime, we had the window open and were woken at that time. The room was quite small so we would not be happy staying there for more than one or two nights
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Debbie and Nigel looked after us very well. We would definitely go again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything the nicest place I've ever stayed
Cons: Leaving
10.0 Excellent
Pros: For the two nights we were here, the hospitality of the owners, Debbie & Nigel was exceptional. They were warm & welcoming and felt more like family The breakfast was delicious, was from local farm produce and the beds were just amazing. Debbie went out of her way to help us, even giving us a lift to my son's wedding venue and picking us up afterwards. That's exceptional! We are so glad we booked this B&B and would recommend it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm and friendly hosts, excellent breakfast, and great location to explore the area. Hosts had good local knowledge and are happy to share it with guests so that you get the most out of your stay.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything!!
Cons: Nothing to complain about whatsoever!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located, beautiful and cheap. Rooms are stunning
Cons: We had treatments and made use of the spa which is lacking, you couldn’t get a drink or have food brought to you and had to get dried and dressed to go to the bar/restaurant
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The spa
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff and food.
Cons: The bed was too soft for my partner
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very efficient friendly and helpful. The spa is brilliant, so relaxing. We couldn't find a fault felt thoroughly spoilt.
7.5 Good
Pros: Room service was tasty, beds very comfortable
Cons: Spa pools were too cold, the hot thermae spa wasn’t working either on the Sunday, which was very disappointing as we had paid for two dull days use (we only used it Sunday afternoon). We had to use the sauna to warm up. The service was disappointing as my husband had gone there personally to arrange special treats and an early check in. Despite the hotel calling me in advance to check our arrival time, the room still wasn’t ready on arrival and it took them two hours to deliver all of the items my husband had arranged ( flowers, food, champagne). They were apologetic but it ruined the effect and what was supposed to be a ‘special treat’. Then to find the spa sub standard on the Sunday was very disappointing. We also requested our bags to be sent down for check out as we had arranged a later time of 2pm but this hadn’t been done when we checked out at 3.30, so we could of enjoyed the room for longer ourselves instead of rushing to get to the spa, as clearly they had no use for it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location excellent
Cons: No car parking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely helpful and attentive staff. Free upgrade to a larger room with a view and unlimited spa bathhouse access. Fully complimentary minibar. Spa bathhouse is gorgeous with more variety of pools and more privacy than the public Thermae Spa next door, including separate warm and hot thermal baths. The latter of these is not available at Thermae outside of a formal treatment.
Cons: Really, only the European standard half size shower barrier and lack of ventilation in the bathroom. Would prefer a full shower curtain and not streaming up the entire room. Also could use spa slippers in the room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great position in central Bath and room was comfortable.
Cons: Given the price the room was average. Mini bar included but only had tiger beer and fizzy bottled drinks. Two bottles of still water but only one sparkling. Near to street meant room was noisy during the night and early morning. We ate in the restaurant and despite having emailed previously to check it was ok to have the taster menu as both ‘normal’ and vegetarian at the same time, on ordering, we were told it wasn’t. After we said we had already emailed to check it was and some further back and forth discussion, we were told it should be ok. All in all an average stay but with so many other decent spa hotels on offer in the area, at less expense, we won’t be planning to visit again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is wonderful, the rooms comfortable (we needed two rooms for a family of four), but the staff were especially impressive. Very attentive without being intrusive and very helpful and knowledgeable.
Cons: The location is great for walking the city, but the streets around the Hotel are difficult to navigate. Excellent valet service makes parking easy though, once you make it to the Hotel.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so helpful, happy and enthusiastic it was a real pleasure to be welcomed by them. The room was very light, spacious clean and well equipped with everything you could want for an overnight stay. The location was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful room, very spacious and a gorgeous view. The lovely amenities with tea/coffee service were appreciated (fresh milk jugs each day and the best shortbread ever!)
Cons: No problem for us but the 3rd floor may be difficult if there’s a-lot of luggage. So if that’s an issue make mention ahead.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast excellent. There is parking on site, a real advantage in Bath. A short walk brings you to shops and restaurants.
Cons: Loved everything about it. No dislikes.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was fab! Beautiful building and lovely rooms. The staff were great.
Cons: It would be great if we didn’t have to pay for parking as this was a cost that we hadn’t factored in. I also read online that it had a pool but I think it must have been an outdated description.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Especially their kindness. A parking space is worth every penny.
Cons: Loved it all but would have liked a bath (in Bath ;-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were welcomed by Caroline who carried our suitcase to our room, made us a cup of tea and let us revive before doing paperwork. Just lovely! Breakfast was fresh and delicious with fresh fruit being a highlight.
Cons: The bathroom was tiny even if stylish.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The Roseate Villa Hotel is an excellent place to stay with access to the sites and shops in Bath. Caroline Browning, Host / General Manager, exceeded expectations with booking a table at a local restaurant that was absolutely fabulous. Breakfast is incredible, fresh product and cooked to order coupled with homemade jams and pastries.
Cons: Nothing at all. The Roseate Villa Hotel cannot be faulted.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent and attentive staff. Location is very close to city centre. Everything was clean and well presented
Cons: Nothing negative to report

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, right in the bustle of the university area but behind main road with view on beautiful square. Décor is delightful, lots of art work everywhere. You can feel that the owner really cares with all the little details (loved the tiny teddy nestled at the top of the stairs). Totally clean and comfortable, it really exceeded our expectations!
Cons: Nothing not to like!

Pros: Lovely surroundings and outdoor area. A good kitchen area was provided. Cereal boxes and snackbars were available. The owners offered us eggs for breakfast. Great for a sleepover before flying the next morning.
Cons: The sofa bed wasn't made up, but it didn't cause a problem. My granddaughter was concerned as the dolls house didn't contain any dolls!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find and access the room. We could see the planes landing at Bristol airport. Everywhere was clean and comfortable, especially the beds. A simple super breakfast left out for us to sort out at our own time. Excellent value for money. We will definitely use them again.

Pros: Really near to the airport. Very clean and had all the facilities you would need for an overnight stay.
Cons: The booking in experience could be a little clearer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Had to find somewhere to stay at last minute notice, how glad I am I found this place. On arrival the doors were closed but unlocked as stated. We had a two bedroom apartment. The two bedrooms were spacious and the living room/ kitchen- diner was superb. As I am a regular visitor to Bristol I shall certainly try to book here again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent accommodation! We were really pleased with our experience at Hillcroft. Cosy, clean, spacious and quiet. The view was of the field and the goats and chickens. We had our own private terrace, kitchenette and sitting room. Our kids shared a room comfortably and each bedroom had it's own shower room. We parked our car right outside the window. The staff were very friendly and left us to get on with it. A good selection of breakfast items were left for us also (cereal bars, choice of cereal/juice/milk/tea/coffee etc). There is a great taxi service to the airport (5 mins away) and we decided to leave our car at Hillcroft whilst on holiday and on return we were picked up again, no stress involved or walking with suitcases/children. I'd recommend Hillcroft to friends/family and we will use it again.
Cons: One small thing was the under floor heating had been left on high and it was quite hot (good in winter though I'm sure!) after we turned it off, it took a while to cool down again, so the kids were a bit hot in their room. We didn't want to leave their window open over night- because of the little one- but if a window had been opened, it would have been fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great space, clean, location
Cons: Everything was great

Pros: Perfect location and charming hotel.
Cons: NA
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked.
Cons: Twin room named Carnation was too small for 2 and needed 2 chairs instead of the little bench.Beds a bit rickety on wood blocks.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent; really helpful, chatty and would do anything for you. The room had a lovely feel, but would have rather had one overlooking the garden (but appreciate they can't all over look the garden?). Excellent first stay and would definitely recommend it. We're coming back, that's for sure.
Cons: The staff, the location and the welcome.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Every thing else was brilliant

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very helpful, lovely building, room quite small but had everything we needed and the beds were very comfy.
Cons: Our room was on the top floor and unfortunately there is no lift, I found this a wee bit difficult due to a disability, however the staff were very helpful with our luggage.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast helpful knowledgeable staff
Cons: Limited tv channel choice
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed and staff were exceptional. The bed was extremely comfortable, soft but still offered good back support. Johnny, on reception, was very friendly and went out of his way to help make my mum's 80th birthday special. Hugely grateful for his help! My parents had the Darwin room which was very quiet. You can't hear any noise from the breakfast room which is overhead. Rooms have both normal and rain showers. Excellent wifi reception. Good choice of breakfast including full English (and vegetarian option), fruit salad, cereal and yogurt. Only a short, scenic walk to the centre of Bath.
Cons: The Siena room, my room, was a bit noisy as it faces the road but, as I got this room as an upgrade, certainly cannot complain. Very little I didn't like. This is a great place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Ayrlington is a superb guest house . We had booked a 2 night stay last week in one of their deluxe king rooms . We travelled to Bath early to do the Bath skyline walk and were able to park our car at the guest house without any problem despite our early arrival. In fact, we were told at that point, that we were being upgraded to the guest house grand suite. This made our day, and on booking in later in the day, we certainly got the 'wow' factor' when shown to our suite. It was huge and decorated wonderfully. The lounge area also opened out onto the beautiful garden. The staff were all exceptional. The breakfast was delicious and the guest bar cosy with reasonably priced drinks. We will definitely return to this beautiful guest house and beautiful city and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to everyone,
Cons: Everything was perfect,
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was wonderful and the location was great. The only problem was the shower, the door wouldn't close properly and the water would leak onto the floor. We stayed in Tulip and it was a beautiful room. The lovely guy at the desk was so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We had a wonderful time there and would certainly recommend it to our friends and family.
Cons: Nothing

Cons: Very noisy largely due to how loudly the doors for other rooms close. The doors themselves also seem to allow plenty of sound through. The location is also very close to student bars that play loud music until 1 in the morning. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable either overall not great at all from a sleep perspective.

Cons: Corridors to bedrooms could be a little more fragrant
9.6 Excellent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location 5 minutes walk to the Thermae Spa along with all of the restaurants and bars. Really cool atmosphere in the hotel, room was modern and comfy and the staff were very helpful and attentive.
Cons: Would have been good at time of booking to explain about the valet parking, when I turned up to use the hotels car park was told it was full and was told you had to pre book. I ended up parking at Charlotte Street, which was only a short walk away.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel the pool was really nice Only a short walk for the shops and restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Good location. Excellent facilities.
Cons: Very small point, but they all count ... bathrooms need somewhere to hang hand towel next to basin, and rooms need more USB ports
6.7 Good
Pros: The bath and the balcony and pool facilities
Cons: Bed was not comfortable at all. Duvet was too heavy and pillows not comfortable either. Some areas of the jacuzzi was not working properly. Don’t think the room was worth £220 for 1 night

Pros: Extremely clean, excellent location and very helpful staff!
Cons: Breakfast was a little disappointing. Tables were just left and not cleaned the entire time we were down there and never got our tea and coffee even after asking.

Pros: Fabulous friendly and attentive staff; lovely room with a comfortable bed and lovely linens. I loved the roll top bath and L’occitane toiletries. Good choices at breakfast and I ordered room service the night before that was fast, well presented and generous in terms of portions. The staff uniforms are really cool too and so liked the warm and personal approach - reception team were always really responsive. I am looking forward to my next stay!
Cons: Having to go through the bar to get to the upstairs lifts - not being told where the stairs was. Tiny issues though as I had a great stay and would definitely recommend and visit again.

Pros: We liked the Friendly staff, lovely breakfasts, room with a view ,nothing was too much trouble for Jen the landlady.
Cons: only negative was the radiator didn't work in our room but there was a small plug in heater that heated the room...eventually
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The bed was really comfortable and the digital shower was very easy to work. I have a sesame allergy and the waitress rang the bakers to make sure there was no sesame in any of the bread. Very reassuring.
Cons: I think it would be better if the curtains could be drawn fully as the light came in in the morning. Minor thing , as there blinds in the room, but feel it would be a good idea.

Pros: Staff could not of done any more for us. The visit was to celebrate a special birthday for my partner. It was her 50th. The birthday was not communicated to the staff. The outcome was a birthday celebration for a special person in a hotel that is a special place! I am so grateful for the hospitality that was provided at the Pantry on the evening of the 25th of September. Thank you!

Pros: Great garden
Cons: The room we stay was next to the kitchen ventilations. It was so noisy in the evening.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was as delightful as on our last visit. Attentive staff, delicious food, a lovely room. The two swimming pools are added delights.
Cons: We thought the service a tiny bit slow at times, compared to earlier visits. But nothing to spoil our enjoyment.

2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Croissants were good and the bed was comfortable.threadbare
Cons: Threadbare carpet in bedroom together with an awful configuration of the bathroom..wouldn’t recommend or stay again. At £
7.0 Good
Pros: Surrounding area was lovely.
Cons: I think facilities were outdated. Very old decorated, tasteless. Wouldn’t attract young generation. With the spa facilities would have expected a jacuzzi as well as a gym. For our spa deal lunch was included - had no lunch choices had to choose the only option available. Waited for 30 min for dessert to arrive although we asked for it to arrive straight after main meal. So we were rushed to go to the spa treatment.

Pros: Lovely small beautifully decorated Boutique Hotel in a great location within walking distance to the shops and Romans baths and the River. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Will definitely stay here again next time we come to Bath.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel well suited to our purposes in visiting friends in the area. Parking was handled by Hotel staff very efficiently since there is little chance of finding street parking close to the hotel. Room was excellent. The breakfast offerings were extensive.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location was pretty good to the city centre, only a short walk away Staff were friendly
Cons: -paying for valet parking (£14 a day as we did not book direct), only to read once we got into the room that they actually park your car on the street. -bathroom was not clean at all, the shower head did not look like it had been cleaned in a long time, mouldy roof, lack of space to put things down, no liners in the bins??? -hotel service charge of £10.90 -room was extremely hot, had to keep the window open -communal facilities in the hotel were lovely, and they seem to strive to be a 5 star hotel, however they do not have the facilities in room to back this up- has not been maintained-needs a good coat of paint and a makeover
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely LOVED our stay at this hotel. The room was stellar, the common areas are very nice, and the hotel is very near all the major downtown attractions. We will definitely stay here again (and we only say this for like 10% of the hotels we visit as we travel extensively).
Cons: Would have liked if the shower was a bit higher... I'm 6'1'' and couldn't fit under it. Also, the toilet needed to be pumped to work. Finally, we know that the having two faucets, one for hot and the other for cold water is "old style", but still, it's very annoying when you try to have lukewarm water to wash your face...
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location. Big and nice room.
Cons: Water was leaking from bottom of the bath.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed here three times now and absolutely love this hotel, the staff are helpful, friendly and efficient. The rooms are amazing with fantastically comfy beds, It has a lovely homely feel bar and Jack the barman was great company who really knew his stuff with drinks. There is a lovely restaurant downstairs. Couldn’t stay anywhere better if your planning on visiting Bath.
Cons: The only think I’d suggest is tea and coffee facilities in the rooms.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed: 10. Space: 10. Charm: 10. The morning tea and coffee were high quality and delicious. The service was outstanding. Just a short and pleasant walk to the city center but in a very quiet street. A beautiful hotel.
Cons: The shower didn't drain well, even after being serviced. Also, and I know this is an American thing, but I would prefer in-room coffee. I struggle to get dressed and ready before coffee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Reception upon arrival was outstanding. Staff service during and upon departure also outstanding.
Cons: Touch up paint in bathroom.
4.0 Okay
Cons: No complimentary tea/coffee in the rooms, only in the reception lounge area but only switched on throughout the day, which is no use if you are out sightseeing, booked three rooms but needed to cancel one due to illness but still was charged full price. No air conditioning in the rooms, turn down service appalling, no thrills.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, spotlessly clean.
Cons: The only problem is there is no parking belonging to the hotel. Parking is in the street outside which is charged until 7pm and then you have to pay again from 8am.

Pros: Absolutely fabulous decor in the room and the hotel generally. Had everything you needed. Great location.
Cons: Unfortunately we had very noisy people above us that woke us throughout the night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Main hotel decor is visually stunning for antique-a-holics like myself. Breakfast excellent. Helpful staff.
Cons: Considering the price per night the parking charges in their car park where ridiculous (£22 per day!) Restaurant menu was very limited. Bar staff painfully slow.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small boutique hotel with exceptionally friendly staff. Rooms are filled with collectibles. It is a short walk (2 minutes) from The Bridge where the center of town starts- makes for a quiet night away from the night life

Cons: Noise from neighbours room. Parking space is limited and only available for an additional charge.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: We loved everything about it!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Quirky, and great location
Cons: Price of the spa treatments
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel had an interesting design approach. Loved that all bedrooms were different, there were collections and quirky art around every corner. The bartender was fabulous & always steered us in the right direction. We very much appreciated the free coffee/tea (even at the bar) & all the nibbles & snacks in the coach house. Great location, wonderful food, the best rain shower ever & my friend was so happy with the Dyson hairdryer.
Cons: The first room we were given #41 was very dark. As luck would have it someone canceled & we were moved to a really beautiful room with sun flowing in. The staff were super accommodating & went out of there way to make this happen. What I did find lacking was that there weren’t any robes nor an in room safe.
5.0 Okay
Pros: central to the city. hotel quirky.
Cons: spa had ripped towels. Bathroom got flooded twice due to showerhead being too big. Despite being told they would replace they did not. Constantly having to ask for things to be replenshed I.e toiletries, tea, coffee. whilst there is a complimentary larder there is no fridge in the room therefore had to go to the larder on a separate floor to get milk. Cost of parking is expensive. Hairdryer nowhere near a mirror. Not enough bar/waiting staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The interiors of the public areas were quirky and beautiful. The shower in our room was brilliant as was the huge flatscreen TV. The staff were friendly and helpful. And everywhere was spotlessly clean.
Cons: The interiors of our room weren’t up to the standard of the public areas of the hotel. There was no wardrobe in our room and we could have done with a teapot to go with the small cups. Or just bigger cups.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated and very quirky. Perfect position
Cons: Well known for being a cocktail bar however they couldn’t serve any as they didn’t have a cocktail bar tender working.
