5.0 Okay
Pros: The hotel staff are nice and very helpfully. But they speak very little English. Communication was difficult.
Cons: Room is too small for a family of four. The dining area is just like a school canteen without any privacy at all. Especially when we had our breakfast, there was a tour group of some 25 people from China seating next to you. It was noisy and messy.
7.5 Good
Cons: I stayed 2 night 1st day many people stayed 1st day dinner is relatively poor but 2nd day is good Hotel' s manager and reception are very kind always
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Massive room with a little living area and a terrace out to the lovely gardens. Beds were comfy, and consistent flow of Japanese green tea. Private onsen was also great and the staff were delightful. We arrived early and dropped our bags off and when we came back to check in they had moved them to our room for us! A true ryokan experience
Cons: Pretty far out of town, took us a while to work out the buses (which are often late) but after that it was fine.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very comfortable. The dinner included was also fabulous. I love the little garden.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely view of the immaculate garden from the room and great outdoor onsen
Cons: Musky smell in the room probably due to dampness and tatami. Quite far from Kofu station (20 mins bus ride) so quite inconvenient traveling with heavy luggage. Would be fine if driving.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The property is relatively close to Shosenkyo Gorge - we made the drive in about 20 minutes. The staff is incredibly gratitude and courteous! At 8:00 PM, the lobby area turns into a lounge for karaoke and serves spirits and beer, which we really liked. The breakfast is worth the ¥1000 yen - it included regional hoto udon, rice, salmon, tofu, fruit, and vegetables! Onsens are clean and relaxing - ryokan has indoor and outdoor for female, as well as males,....and they switch sides daily so that each get use of the hotter sauna. Food is provided on the lanai to feed the koi fish in the garden pond. Ryokan has ample, free parking.
Cons: Interior is dated, but we commonly find this for older, traditional ryokans. If you want one that is pristine, then go to a modern ryokan that is pricier. Garden pond is murky, much unlike the clear water we typically encounter for koi ponds. The fish and turtles don’t seem to care, though. The garden was also a little unkempt for Japanese standards. You’ll need to take a cab from Kofu Station since it is a bit of a distance, but we drove so not an issue for us.

7.5 Good
Pros: Staff were very helpful and hotel was clean.
Cons: We always check the size of the beds before booking anything but the bed must have been the smallest of the small doubles we have ever stayed in. Airconditioning difficult to control.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is good. Hotel is around 10 min walk from Kofu station, but the traffic junction beside the hotel has overhead bridge, so it is difficult to walk over if you have luggage. There is a Family Mart in two min walk.
Cons: None.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great value for money, lovely onsen and nice staff. The twin room was very large for Japanese standards.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very accommodating. We arrived later than the rest of our group but the staff at the front desk knew exactly who we were and where the rest of our group was. The buffet breakfast was terrific!
Cons: The bed could have been in a better location in the room. My partner had to limb over the bed to get to his side.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: It is the nicest place I have stayed in during my recent trip.. reasonably close to the station.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere (Japanese, Thai and French, event the clocks, see the photo!), onsen, meals. Especially staff kindness. They could change my room (which was a smoking room, a lot of tobacco smell, but I am badly allergic) right away despite the hotel was full.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really nice!! Hot spring and breakfast
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming staff -- they make you feel as you're a very special person. They learn quickly and pay attention to your needs, all with great respect. I was staying there a few times already. Good breakfast.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Lobby area
Cons: I think they put all the money into renovating the lobby area. The upper floor (7th floor) was dated. The beds and room facilities were ok but it is the noise that ruined our stay here. We got a room that was facing the police office. We could hear ALL the sirens and cars during the night so we didn't have a good sleep. It was like sleeping with an open window but it was closed! The staff hardly speaks any English.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely lobby, and very nice onsen
Cons: Staff are never to friendly, but they take care of you... perfunctorily.

Cons: Nothing.
7.1 Good
Pros: Cheap and basic. There was an elevator. Room and bathroom was very clean. Easy walk from the train station.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good other than the coffee. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was a good size but nothing special. Would stay again. Free onsite parking.
Cons: Location not near Restaurant or shops. 15 minute walk or 5 drive to restaurants. Coffee was horrible.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and everything is super clean. Very quiet hotel, comfortable to have some rest.
Cons: Not many things but the location isn't the best. If you don't have a car, it can be hard to access.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was very comfortable and the room was quiet spacious for two. It even had a sofa, which we sat on while eating. The staff didn't really speak English so the communication was a little bit difficult, but they were very nice and willing to help (with translating devices).
Cons: The day we were there was raining, and the map got us detoured, so that made it difficult to find the way, but it is in fact really easy to find the way. Since it requires bus to travel from JR station to the accommodation, I won't recommend travellers with massive suitcases, as it could be tough to carry them on and off the buses, as it is still a bit of a walk from the bus station, which would be made much easier without heavy luggages.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staffs were sooo friendly and speaks english! The rooms are very clean. And the breakfast was great!
Cons: None!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were big and comfortable. Clean and tidy and Cafeteria was too excellent.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean and tidy rooms. Staff was very much attentive and finally the Breakfast.

5.0 Okay
Pros: you can open the window in the dorm. has a slight squat feel in the halls, has potential if the owner gets some energy and empathy.
Cons: Roof terrace closed. Super tiny "wipe" bathroom inside dormitory. Bad aircon. Seemed to cram one dorm inspite of being very, very quiet. Owners friends, I guess, "checking in" very late in the dorm for what i assume is the price I paid. Cliquish group of sycophants around, yet another, daddy's-boy owner. Felt like a money tool. Located off one block on google maps further up the main street. crappy microwave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at Bacchus made me feel more welcome than I could have ever expected. My Japanese at this point is at what I've heard called "survival" level, and the staff here spoke excellent English and were able to guide me to sight-seeing and restaurants in the area. An easy walk from Kofu station, Bacchus is 5 minutes from wherever you could possibly want to be. But, why would you want to leave? I spent a half-hour walking around looking for breakfast, finally settling on some prepackaged food from the Lawson's by the station, and when I walked back to the hostel the staff there invited me to join them for a traditional Japanese breakfast, the whole works: rice, miso, natto (yum!), eggs, and for my vegetarian/pescatarian self, some stir-fried octopus and mushrooms. I've never been treated with such hospitality at -any- establishment before, and it's something I'll remember for a long time. The bar at the hostel, open after 18:00, is probably the cheapest you'll find, and it's frequented by local Japanese who will happily and cheerfully drink, smoke, and speak Japanese with you. I plan on directing my friends to Bacchus when they come to visit Kofu, and I'll be back there just to drink with the friends I made. Thank you so much to the staff at Bacchus. - Kyle

Pros: Comfy room
Cons: It's a bit hard to get places from the hotel but that's more a problem with local transportation in general.

Pros: Shuttle transfer to train station in the morning. Good onsen and room is comfortable. Good coffee in lobby and free reman in the evening. Friendly staff. Many restaurants are nearby.
Cons: A little far from train station but it is ok if you did not carry big luggage. So it would be better to have shuttle transfer like morning hours. Pillow is quite hard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Complementary dinner! It's a simple soy ramen type soup and quite late at night but it was nice. It's pretty much on the central streets. Onsen was much better than expected.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very new, clean and comfortable. The breakfast and late night noodles were great.
Cons: Unfortunately the shops and restaurants around the hotel were closed. I’m assuming this is more common being outside of Kanto
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast buffet was decent, I could not fault the staff. The checking in/out processes were very quick.
Cons: Parking situation is awful. The first thing we noticed in our room was that the door was broken - I don’t understand how the staff haven’t noticed that. Also, there was no view at all from our room. Location rather dull.

Pros: Very comfortable bed. Clean and well fitted out. Cheerful staff who aimed to please. An excellent location should you find yourself having to weather the biggest typhoon in 60 years!

Pros: Bath facilities were nice and clean, they have an inside and small outside area from afternoon to morning easy accesable, parking lot directly at hotel very nice staff, 24h reception free small Ramen at hotel restaurant
Cons: bed was hard and cushion was very small, not comfortable parking lot was more expensive than mentioned (1000JYP) smell in the room (not sure where it was coming from)
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The staff are pleasant and extremely helpful and the breakfast buffet is very good value. The bath on the roof of the hotel is a special treat.
Cons: Some of the fixtures in the room could do with being replaced and there could be a bit more signage in English.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Communal bath on the roof with the view was amazing, staff stored our luggage before check-in, the breakfast was delicious and even had plenty western options to choose from
Cons: Twin room was kinda small even for japanese standards but it was nothing major
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, helpful staff, nice onsen, easy to rich by walk from central station, lots of restaurants around, quite place. Good for 1-2 nights. Good breakfast.
Cons: Too firm bed (I like firm, but this was really not the best one). We were during Golden week, when all Japan have vacation, so it was a little bit crowded in onsen and on the breakfast, as expected.

Cons: Nothing at all.
