Yu is a very friendly, smily and welcoming host. He is always ready to answer any questions. I love the typically Japenese house and felt immediately confortable. The house is clean and very convenient for the location. I highly recommend it if you are staying in Kyoto.
The only thing I can regret is the short window we have to drop the bag for exploring the city. After while, Yu is managing 3 guest houses so it's understandable and you can drop you're luggage in a locker at the nearest station.
We liked the fact that we are able to live in a 140 year old Japanese house in Kyoto and experience how unique it is. The price is also justifiable. Very cheap compared to other places within the area.
The walk to and from the train stations is a bit long (15minutes). When we arrived, we felt tired and the room is a bit hot, so we asked if we can open the airconditioner, but the owner did not allow us to open it because he says it will be cold late in the evening, which happened around midnight. We just wished he allowed us even a timed use of the airconditioner when it was still hot.
Good location and atmosphere
Stairs are a bit steep but its not that bad
Such a Beautiful place! Amazing. The staff are super friendly and helpful Best place I stayed in 2 months in Asia.
Staff were friendly, there is also nice bakery around the corner.
Another sink would be helpful.
