Cons: Nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Roger and Susan were perfect hosts, they could not do enough for us. The meals that they provided were equal to any served in first class restaurants and super value. The swimming pool on the very hot days was enjoyable and kept us cool. We had the Le Terrasse bedroom which was fantastic. We will certainly be back when in this area of France again.

Pros: Lovely location, very friendly and helpful owner, nothing was too much trouble for her.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and charming heritage (14th c.) building loaded with charm and atmosphere in quiet little town near the motorway. Easy access from Vitre. Walled Parking. Friendly charming sophisticated host(ess). Fantastic value. Wonderful farm/family breakfast served in a fantastic old room. Super clean and quiet, no barking dogs. Large cheerful room and bathroom. Amazing history to the building.
Cons: Having to leave.

Pros: Beautiful property, gracious hostess, great breakfast, huge room.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house has history and character, a good 'feel' and we enjoyed being in a country setting. We also enjoyed conversations with our host. A memorable, if brief, stay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Dagmar was warm and thoughtful and so good with our young children. The accomodation was spotlessly clean and charming. We had a lovely super of galettes. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we hope to stay again in the future.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostess, Dagmar, is a wonderful and very hospitable person. She takes care of every possible detail to make her guests' stay perfect and unforgettable. Brava.....no bravissima The building is exquisite and maintains its historical beauty and the rooms are tastefully furnished. We would recommend Au Presbyte're de Dagmar to anyone who is looking for a special place to unwind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely warm welcome by Dagmar and very interesting chat on the history of the surrounding area. Charming old presbytery in peaceful village, a memorable stay. Great breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice quite location, Dagmar made us very welcome and provided an extensive breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We missed our flight connection and were thus rather late arriving. Dagmar was most accommodating our later arrival and even allowed us to join her and her lovely daughter for a bite, which was wholly unexpected, delightful and most appreciated. The property is out of the way, quiet and in a delightfully historic building. Our room was on the top floor and had angled ceilings, and especially comfy bed and a great shower. My only concern would be to stay in the heat of the summer in this top floor room. Kudos Dagmar and thanks so much for your consideration and generosity. Highly recommended.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: House and guest room were great. Owner, Dagmar, was very attentive and helpful. Room was at the top of the house and, with the scorching weather, was very hot but this was solved by the fans supplied by Dagmar. Property is well situated to explore Vitre or Rennes.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about our stay was exceptional from start to finish; our hostess, Chris, produced a fabulous four-course meal with wine, and a delicious breakfast was served the next day with croissants fresh from the boulangerie, and home-made conserves. We discussed politics, wine and history around the table with other guests - and put the world to rights. Our bedroom was huge, with antique furnishings and quality bedding and towels. The staircase was just beautiful and the whole property has been renovated to an extremely high standard. Although off the beaten track, Le Manoir de la Vieille Douve is definitely worth a detour and with Chris and Charles' plans to create some gîtes in one of the barns, along with their already completed large indoor swimming pool, we will definitely be returning soon. Thank you for an absolutely fantastic stay. À bientôt!

Location was excellent in the old part of town, with interesting walks just out the front door, including to the local markets. The accommodation itself had character & beds were very comfy. Breakfast was also excellent.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming and comfortable - and spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.
6.3 Good
Pros: The hosts were very accommodating especially with the arrangements for the cycles - they exceeded our expectations on this.
Cons: Too many house rules not known to us when booking - NO shoes to be worn inside the property - NO food or drink in the room - Breakfast was good quality but poor selection and quantity - Bathroom was advertised as Private but we ended up sharing with other guests! Also no Kitchenette and facilities around that for private use - only to use the hosts own kitchen etc . We expected our own fridge, toaster, microwave and to eat in our own lounge. Also on the web site the lounge shown is the hosts lounge not the one we used although this was ok. No Garden view from the room only next doors property which looked derelict . The advert/ information needs to be much clearer on all aspects.

4.3 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The hotel is called Le Privilege but it was anything but a privilege to stay there ! We had asked for a ground floor room because my husband is not very mobile and there was no lift. The room they offered was in an annexe and quite a walk from the dining room with a big slope to contend with. Not even an apology for not telling us in advance about the annexe. We booked for dinner but found that though dinner was available as it was a Monday was a set menu with no choice -pig's cheek main course. Again no apology for not warning us in advance. The room which we finally took on the first floor was very basic to say the least and rubber sheet over the mattress on a not very wonderful bed. Food OK if like pig's cheek but not otherwise though they did give us a cheese platter and did not charge extra.
6.8 Good
Pros: Good value. Food was good
Cons: No air conditioning or fan available in the room.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed the experience of staying in a chateau for a reasonable price. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The grounds are well worth walking around, and the town is pleasant. Breakfast was simple but adequate. There is a restaurant within walking distance for an evening meal.
Cons: We arrived and there was no one at the reception. By chance we noticed a small post-it on the window with a phone number to ring. The owner answered and though he was off site soon arrived to let us in. Because of the age and nature of the building some of the facilities are basic, but perhaps this adds to the experience.
6.8 Good
Pros: To stay at Chateau de Craon was an enjoyable experience. The grounds were inviting encouraging us to walk and to explore and we found our trip overall quite relaxing. The owner was extremely welcoming and friendly. The home-made jam very tasty.
Cons: Lack of room attention - i.e. toilet roll, soap, dry towel, bed making and perhaps a choice of cheese for breakfast would have been an extra change on one of the mornings. Arriving back at the Chateau after dark if we'd gone out for dinner was not great - no lights to welcome us even though it wasn't late at night. I would pack a torch for our next stay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a chateau. What more can you say. Our room was lovely. The host was great. Lovely breakfast room and best coffee so far. The creperie across the road did a great steak.
Cons: Nothing.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible feeling!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Chateau and owner's were fabulous.
Cons: Not much to see in the area
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place. It is like stepping into an adventure experiencing surroundings that only exist in fairytales. Strangely enough, it felt like staying with family as the host was excellent, caring, thoughtful but not overbearing. All the details in small things, the furniture, the accessories everything fitting a life in a palace. For a brief moment, it felt just like that, living in a palace in another era.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Chateau is really a special place to stop and spend time. The Count, Countess and their whole family were charming, welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our stay more comfortable. We made full use of the fantastic grounds and the swimming pool. Certainly one of the best places we have ever stayed in, in France and will definitely revisit. Highly recommended!!
Cons: Absolutely nothing, it had everything you could wish for.

Pros: Citotel Le Petit Billot is in a superb location for visiting Vitre. Parking is easily available for a small price. We were offered a choice of room and chose one with shuttered windows overlooking the street. The room was comfortable with a large bathroom, which came with a generously sized bath.
Cons: It seemed as though the room has been recently decorated/modernised but the bathroom was rather dated.

Cons: N/A
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent parking Very good breakfast Good value for money
Cons: Not shown the pool evne though it is a main feature in advertising Very noisy group arriving late and shouting and laughing until gone midnight. Staff should advise that it must be quiet after 10.30.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely property , quite unusual in that there is access to a large dining area and kitchen with sink/dishwasher/basic cooking rings/microwave. French breakfast was included in my excellent room rate. The room was a little basic but very comfortable. The towels were in the bathroom cupboard. Overlooks an attractive medieval village. Proprietor charming, friendly, caring.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant if you love a quiet place. Very relaxing time
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We had a small self-contained house on a site with the owners’ accommodation and some other gîtes. There was lots of space for the children to play as well as swings and a small swimming pool (indoor). As we were only there for one night we brought food with us but it was quite close to a smaller medieval town with a restaurant or two. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. There were a couple of friendly cats and a goat which entertained the children! Lovely place to stay - very quiet but not far from a town.
Cons: Liked it all and, given it was an overnight stop en route to the north, we booked something really inexpensive so, the accommodation was basic but perfectly clean and, as a converted barn it was full of character. Only a couple of niggles - like the bathroom which was functional but adequate and the lack of internet. No towels were provided but I suspect if we had asked we could have been given some.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A quaint little gite in a good location
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: I was advised in advance that there would be no hot water owing to a mechanical failure. I was invited to cancel the booking.
Cons: there is no food or bar available in the evening, neither at the property nor in the local village. There is a supermarket a few kilometres away and the hotel owner said that I could use a gas ring, fridge, kettle and the microwave oven at the property
7.5 Good
Pros: It's in a lovely location. Breakfast was good with fresh croissants and baguette
Cons: The room we stayed it was rather outdated. It needs renovating.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was excellent Bedrooms very good
Cons: Being British a fried breakfast would have been lovely Or a couple of boiled eggs and toast The breakfast was very good but possible not to our taste
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Secluded setting away from the bustle. Very friendly family who really made us feel welcome. Superb facilities with generous, well appointed accommodation. Great breakfast where everything was either produced on the farm and/or was bio (organic). Would thoroughly recommend.
Cons: You really need to know where you’re going to find it - but please search it out. A great venture that needs supporting!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very calm location surrounded by fields. Big rooms, very comfortable and super clean. Breakfast was very fresh with lots of fresh products from the farm (bread, milk...). Hosts were welcoming.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Shower
Cons: Directions from internet terrible.noobody there to meet me in the middle of nowhere.no food availability.organic produce been there for weeks ,water from tap had bad smell, not a place I would consider again.never
4.5 Okay
Pros: I liked the fact that it is a true farm and hat the bathrooms are neat and clean.
Cons: However, the beds amwrre very smelly and I felt they had not been really cleaned. It smelled like previous guests perspiration and that was not very nice. The price is really high for this kind of result
4.5 Okay
Pros: Not a lot.
Cons: Garden view was tarmac -no curtains -poor shower head --lighting poor --worst breakfast we have ever had in France .Bread stale Owner did not show up ---asked to pay the day before .--avoid this place.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Biologite is a genuine family run organic farm, with a family greeting from the lady of the house. Everything is spick & span, bathrooms new, the bed furnishings are very good, of interesting old-fashioned style, fitting well with a feeling that this is a genuine large farmhouse. We did need our satnav to find it. The area is rich in must-do tourist places, e.g. Vitre, a fabulous fortress with the conical-roofed towers and another different one at Fourges, just up the way. All of eastern Britanny is accessible and that is one of the most fabulous parts of France.
Cons: nothing

8.8 Excellent
Pros: location! right in the old center
Cons: The hotel info was not clear on the parking. There is parking but you need to pay for it! Also, the hotel closes at certain times and you need a code to enter. Lastly the hotel had no elevator, which was a problem for us. We were relocated on the ground floor, in a room that was not very pleasant (dark and had a faint sewer smell).

Pros: For the second day in a row, no one was available when we arrived. For a hotel of 20odd rooms that is surely not good service. The hotel itself is extremely well maintained and in a fantastic location.the roo and bathroom were both very good. The bath towels were thin. After our initial disappointment on arrival, the staff were fine.

Cons: The breakfast was not very good, no fresh bread and only some jam. The local things as cake was nice. The bed was not good for my tall men. And the bed make a lot of noise. We have to wait for the owner for more then a hour but that was because we made a last minute reservation.
