Le Havre Hotels near Bassin du Commerce

Pros: The staff was accommodating, the breakfast was ok (they need to learn how to properly cook bacon), and it's next to the train station, which is why I booked the hotel.

Cons: I have been staying in hotels during six weeks of travel in Europe, and this was the most uncomfortable hotel I stayed in. In its attempt to be ultra modern, it sacrificed comfort. There was no shelving in the WC, so needed personal items had to be set on the floor. The shower and sink are part of the bedroom with only a curtain to close for privacy. Very awkward. There was no shelving in the shower nor a grab bar...I consider this a safety issue. Also the room was so narrow, there was little space for two suitcases, and we kept hitting out legs on the edges of the beds as we moved around. The TV system was lousy. It projects from the ceiling onto the wall, and the speakers were broken, so we got a loud "buzz" when the sound was on. Also, in the middle of the night the thing would start buzzing. I had to stand on the bed, reach over my head, and hit the speakers to stop the noise. I tried to call the desk to complain, but the phone didn't work! All-in-all it was a lousy two nights!

Pros: Really good value, adequate and very secure parking, 5 minutes from car ferry port.

Cons: Very strange to have the shower unit in the same room as the beds. OK for couples but a bit odd for family or friends who do not share the same bed.

Pros: Really impressed by the eco-friendly concept. The room was very comfortable and the shower was brilliant. The decor is minimalist but there are clever ways of storing clothes and luggage. Paid, secure parking is operated by an efficient, user-friendly system.

Pros: Very modern eco hotel with very convenient underground parking.

Cons: Shame to see single-use toiletries.

Pros: The modern environment, the shower light, the TV. Everything.

Cons: Nothing. Everything was spark clean, comfortable and there was good hight tech equipment. Very nice indeed.

Pros: Very cutting edge and green in all regards.

Pros: Staffs are very kind and some are accordingly expert. (but not everyone) Very modern and goal-oriented room facility. Very clean room. Good location.

Cons: The cold water pressure was to low(in whole house, said staff). Maybe matter of getting Usedom to. One day there was no shower gel in room and also in reception. I had to use just shampoos. Staff said thats same thing. (Shampoo and shower gel are same? It was not "two-in-one product.)

Cons: I asked for a quite room and got a room where I heard the tram ringing its bell all morning and traffic passing by. I was awake at early hours. The night before there was a women yelling from the top of her voice for 2 hours which was rather disturbing.

Pros: I love the location in front of the River, a few steps away from downtown. The whole staff is Professional and friendlly. The rooms are very beautiful and clean. The breakfast served in the room. The coffee is good, the bread too. I like the SPA area, the gym as the Beauty institute. The swimmingpool.

Pros: A great hotel in a good position on the river basin, lovely rooms with good spa on the same floor. good restaurant and brilliant casino. 2nd time here and would certainly stay here again.

Cons: The rooms and the hotel was all to hot. The climate and aircon was really bad working. Breakfast was bad and with attention.

Pros: The Spa, available to all hotel guests, is an invaluable plus. Go there 9-10pm and after a good sleep, you are set for a perfect day!

Cons: I forgot my charger after check out Then i came back and ask reception lady but he replied with no care , she told go and check After i checked the room , it was gone( probably stolen) from cleaning staff Then i came back asked her about cleaning staff she didn’t care. I was in rush so i leaved the hotel.

Cons: No water in the shower, no plugs adamptors that can take international plugs no ironing board. Breakfast selection Limited. Decor old.

Pros: It's a good hotel in the center of La Havre. Comfortable and clean. It's Ibis. You know what to expect when you come here. And it's exactly like that

Cons: The bathroom was rather outdated.

Cons: The directions given when booking were inadequate. We spent almost 45 mins late at night trying to find the hotel by which time it was too late to eat or even get a drink at the bar, Previous knowledge of the parking facility and the fact that the hotel is on a one-way system would save so much hassle. This could be rectified so quickly

Pros: Stayed here before. Secure pattking, nice restaurant with v tasty dishes. Excellent choice at breakkfast. Room facilities were excellent. Best nights sleep for ages- such a comfortable bed. Bonus - more than 1 pillow for each person!

Pros: First time staying in a hotel, but wasn’t disappointed, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was a little small but it was clean and comfortable for our needs. Breakfast was very good along with the evening meal, not a huge choice but good food and service.

Cons: Had the steak the first night which was excellent but the only down point was the amount of potatoes with the meal, we counted around 19, they were very nice but way to many could of done with some peas.

Pros: Staff very good and the food was brill

Pros: We paid extra to get more space, a room for 4 was good for 2, it was OK.

Pros: Breakfast - Excellent quality food and variation of choice. The restaurant had a limited choice menu in the evening but was well cooked food (Pizza and Pasta etc) and very reasonable on price. Staff- The hotel staff were excellent and could not have been kinder and more helpful. Top Marks! Rooms - VERY clean and the bed itself was fabulous with a good quality mattress which makes (all) the difference if you want a good night's sleep. Parking - The hotel has a great underground facility due to limited street and public parking available (and for which a parking charge was also required between peak hours) and so, you would be making a mistake not to use the hotel's facility which was only 7 Euros a day.

Cons: INFREQUENT noise from the Police Station across the road (the use of sirens on Police cars a couple of times was heard in the early hours of the morning) but that is no fault of the hotel of course and rather, it is an unavoidable consequence of location so close to a government facility.

Pros: Breakfast and location good, no problem for me

Pros: Staff were obliging and eager to please, and steak and chips was good. The bed was very large, clean and comfortable, and since my stay was a stop-over en route elsewhere this was very important.

Cons: Prices for food and drink took advantage of captive audience, which is good for the bottom line in the short term, but not so good when customers find this a reason not to return. You will know from your own market research the price level you can push prices to before customers vote with their feet. For me €8.00 for branded beer available in nearby bars for half that price is excessive. I know that price is only one consideration, and much of what you do was done well.

Pros: Quiet hotel, fairly located for my needs. In the room i received, the bed was super wide. And for sure comfortable.

Cons: No desk in room to work. You need to insist to get a printed bill at departure, otherwise you get it by email and have to print it by your own. The tatoos of the staff No lift from parking to exit. A bit ennoying with the suitcases in the stairs.

Pros: Excellent location within easy walking distance of major attractions such as art gallery, museums, shops and restaurants. The hotel has its own restaurant Happy Dock which is excellent. Stylish decor, daily newspapers. Staff extremely freidnly and professional

Pros: We had two conected rooms which was good.

Cons: This is a hotel I would never like to come back to. It's ugly, located in an area with no interest at all. There is no reception. You come into a bar that was noisy . When we arrived, a whole bus of turist had just checked in and they where blocking the small entrance because they where waiting for the only two elevators available. It took ages for all these people to be able to go to their rooms. The rooms are unpersonal and both of them had a broken lamp. One of them was at the entrance and because of that, the whole room was very dark. We asked for the lamps to be fixed. They only fixed the little one from the bathroom. They never fixed the most important one. The showers wher stupid, being placed in a vertical way which made it impossible to shower properly (the oposite wall got all the water). We where placed close to the elevators which made it very difficult to sleep well. You hear every person that comes and goes. Finally, the worse was that despite they claim to have airco, we could not control it manually and it did not work at all. It was 25C in the room (we had a thermometer) and we had all trouble to sleep.

Pros: GREAT breakfast! Many options and more than enough. Nice bar and good restaurant. Everything was clean. Nice view.

Cons: The room did not meet our expectations of a 4 star hotel. Quite small room, small bath room, not much luxury, small bed. Compared to other 4 star hotels we stayed in, the room was quite disappointing. It was just OK and clean, no more than that.

Pros: Rich breakfast on Mercure scale, quick staff

Pros: The restaurant had great service and food. Great customer service. The Manager also went out of her way to accommodate my early check out due to my changed work commitments!

Pros: The ease of check-in, very spacious room, loved that it was a real double bed and not 2 singles pushed together, nice modern bathroom. Good location making it easy to walk to most parts of town.

Cons: Breakfast should not be automatically added to the bill. There needs to be a better system so that you are only charged for breakfast if you had it, you shouldn’t have to discuss this matter upon checking out. I had such a wonderful stay but now it is marred by this experience of getting charges removed from my credit card.

Pros: We had a little balcony overlooking the street.

Cons: In the listing it said car parking. There was none.

Cons: The bathroom: blocked sink, mouldy shower, broken towel rail, cistern running noisily all night. Balcony for which we paid more: broken seat, dead plants; arrival- they had OKed our arrival time but when we got there it was locked up. Spoke to an intercom, let in, had to find key in dark. No indication of WiFi code anywhere. As had stipulated parking provision, but was in fact paid parking in the street. I feel the reviews and description of hotel mislead us

Cons: They falsely accused us for taking towels with us by email a couple of minutes after our departure. They suggested immediately to take the amount of the towels of our credit card. We find this a little bit shady (big time).

Pros: Location good if taking Brittany Ferrys.

Cons: Stairs were not good with suitcases although they did help carry, no lift and rooms at top of stairs. Very noisy with the windows open which we needed to have open as it was quite hot.

Pros: Cosy and in a wonderful location in Le Havre to visit MUMA and to find good food. Park available on fee but still good. The staff is wonderful

Pros: Really great hotel for the money. Perfect for a stopover before an early morning ferry.

Cons: No air con, so it was pretty hot - but really, what did we expect for the money?! Very good otherwise.

Pros: Location was superb to explore the town, the owner was extremely helpful and friendly, the breakfast was great value and had a fantastic selection and the hotel and room were clean and tidy.

Cons: The shower was a touch on the small side, but not an issue.
