Good quality and service Refused entry into casino unless passport provided - this was then scanned and no reason offered!
wolkig, stay in the spa i prefer other hotel Best Western
Friendly and helpful staff. Nice room design. Good location. Quite noisy air conditioning in the room. Hotel obviously more suited to guests wishing to visit the Casino.
Super hotel, everything we expected, and more. Friendly staff, good food, and nothing was too much trouble. Loverly room, clean and well furnished, with the most comfortable beds and pillows to be found anywhere during our 7 week tour through France, Spain and Portugal. We will certainly return here when we re-visit this area. Parking was difficult to find, however we were imediatly informed when a space outside the hotel became available, so realy this was a very minor problem.
Nicely decorated bedroom with comfortable beds. Good value for money overall with Discovery package; only charged 8euros for 7 year old which was for dinner. Dinner a reasonable standard and good value; likewise breakfast within the package. Spa accessible with comfortable sun beds and small pool. All staff helpful and some English spoken. Casino has slot machines visible from reception which diminishes the overall effect. No entertainment on Friday night. No storage for bags once booked out.
Helpful staff and very good facilities. Of the most recent hotel stays in France it was a delight to register an attempt to price at somewhere sensible levels (nearly!). Very good brasserie.
food and staff
A real Gem in Le Havre, hidden on the third floor of the old stock exchange building. The rooms were fantastic, the spa was excellent and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Do not be put off by the casino on the ground floor or the very tacky Pasino signage on the outside of the building, there is a graphic designer somewhere who has a lot of questions to answer!!!
The front desk staff was superior-taking us to our room and showing us the ins and outs of our lovely room and en-suite facilities. They spoke English and were kind enough to find a repair shop for us when we had a minor problem with our auto. We did find the room a tiny bit pricey-but in the end were very pleased with not only the quality of the facilities but the impeccable staff as well. Not a fan of the little half shower door-water got all over the floor.
We enjoyed this hotel even though we hadn't realised it was a Casino (the name should have given it away!). The Hotel part was up on the third part anyway, so nice and quiet. The room decor was lovely in a style similar to Klimt. The hotel restaurant was fantastic with attentive staff and a gourmet menu. The spa was tranquil and quiet. There was no problem taking our baby (the hotel staff were very helpful with him and they had facilities such as cots and highchairs) however next time I would go to this hotel as a romantic couples break. The Discover Pass, including breakfast, a 3 course evening meal and use of the Spa was definitely worth getting.
everything!the best weekend in my life :) no
Nice decor and ambiance (incl attention to detail like soaps, towels etc). Good location (close to the center, restaurants and seaside). We were kindly offered tea and croissants after the breakfast time. It's not the hotel's fault but we were actually looking for accommodation close to Deauville and Le Havre is in fact not as close as 15 km (claimed on booking.com) but more than 40 km by car (whereby you need to get over the mouth of Seine and pay a lot of tolls).
I had read good reviews, and the hotel more than exceeded my expectations. We had a wonderful room, with a huge bathroom and a wonderfully comfy bed! The breakfasts were worth the extra charge - I particularly liked the freshly squeezed orange juice machine! The staff were welcoming and friendly.
Excellent boutique type hotel in Le Havre city centre. Handy for restaurants and I was able to get a parking meter outside the front door.
The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Near the beach and some good restaurants.
breakfast was excellent, reocmmendation of restaurants for dinner also, the towels smelled strongly of detergent
Have stayed here before, and will do so again. Small, select, charming staff, sadly very limited as to dinner but otherwise excellent. Recommended. See above, but they recommended various local restaurants, one of which we enjoyed.
Good hotel with nicely decorated rooms and handy for both the beach (for my small child) and for the shops and restaurants of Le Havre. The breakfast was really expensive at 12 euros but that seems to be the case generally with hotels in France. Luckily my child's breakfast was free so that made it more reasonable.
Rare example of a family enterprise, the French are fond of their hotel and proud of running it. Easy access from the railway station, not far from the beach, very friendly and helpful staff, elevator, free wi-fi. Although we did not take their continental breakfast, but we could attest that it was not that modest.
Good hotel, very helpful staff. Good location in city centre. Clean comfortable room and bed.
The hotel is very clean
Our stay in Hotel Carmin was great: The staff was very, very friendly and helpful, the room was small but clean, and the bathroom in the rooms was new and very clean. Nothing to complain about!
The very friendly and helpful staff Could have had more services in the room ie tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge
Good director of the hotel. Breakfast too modest. Pillows are indeed too large and too pumped up. Other people liked them though.
Very friendly, helpful & courteous staff. Also the bed coverlets were very cheerful & of a good quality which always makes the room a bit more pleasant to return to!
Nice welcome Very small bedroom. I would prefer to be close the beach
The location The bathroom door being in glass, the very limited breakfast
Staff and cleanliness
according to booking.com this hotel was supposed to be in deauville. instead is a 1 hour drive from there!! don't stay here if you want to go to deauville
Friendly staff and pleasant place to stay in a nice central position for restuurants and sight seeing our triple room was a small for three people. The one way system makes it difficult to find.
i didnt like the small dirty room we were given awful experience for our first time in france
The hotel is in good position, near the city centre. personnel is very kind, ready to support with suggestion and advice. Room were small but comfortable. Bathroom too small. No lift to reach the third floor with baggage
The hotel is right in the centre of the town and convenient to where I needed to be each day. There was a good selection of restaurants nearby and a Market hall with a supermarket and range of produce. Takeaway food is not allowed to be consumed in the rooms so on nights we did not want to eat out we took advantage of having our evening meal at the hotel. 14 euros was very reasonable priced and there was a nice choice of main meal. The free WiFi was a great boon and the family who run the business are very welcoming and helpful. We were pleased that we had chosen the option of the family room due to the length of our stay ( we had no child) as it gave us more room an extra bed (double)and a desk as well as a bath in the bathrooom A chest of drawers would have been welcome- the wardrobe was adequate.
Nothing. It gave a very bad impression as the entrance lobby was very dirty and the door to the toilet was open facing the entrance door. The restaurant floor was dirty also. The room seemed reasonably clean. It was not comfortable and had an ugly view of backs of buildings from our window. The Hotel was right on the road so was noisy as well as noise up to midnight above our room. Moving heavy furniture perhaps.
The staff were friendly, room was clean, breakfast wasa good, it had all the basics needed for a restful night.I would reccomend the hotel to anyone needing a place to stay overnight in Le Havre, it was very central and easy to find from the ferry port.
Excellent service, good room and central location I fail to see why I was charge full price for four breakfasts when my youngest child is a mere two years old!
Good central location bars and restaurants nearby and local market next door. Proprietor very helpfull and staff friendly.
easy to find / parking (albeit on main road) seemed easy and free until the morning / easy access (on foot) to variety of restaurants / able to sleep 2 adults and 2 young children in 1 room
Freindly simple no frills hotel, clean and comfortable bed for the night with adequate breakfast Car parking a nightmare! You use the public car park accross the street which is shut on Sundays - so plan your visit assuming no access to your car on a Sunday!
I didn't get the room with balcony as stated in my confirmation. While checking-out, the hotel staff first gave me the wrong invoice with the wrong room rates, and after entering the wright room rates they charged me two extra breakfast I didn't take. Meanwhile the taxi driver was waiting. After these issued ware kind of solved they were not able to charge my credit card because the credit card mashine run out of paper. Therefore I suggested them to send me the invoice and my companie will settle that upon receiveing the invoice.
comfort bed, spacious room nothing
amusing lift No parking, small room
Good rooms and quirky great decor, staff very good No
very friendly and helpful staff, when i wanted to extend my stay and the hotel was fully booked they found me another room at another hotel at 100 mtrs away.Breakfast buffet is good, enough choice. Room is light, modern and clean with nice view. Good parking facilities around the hotel (on the street or the opposite garage), perfect location in the centre of Le Havre.
visit a Boulanger/Patisserie down the street. They were not willing to Retrieving my parked car was not good. The hotel staff knows of my distress.
The staff were friendly
Conviniently situated, staff friendly and helpful No restaurant is a nuisance on a cold Sunday in Le Havre, where most restaurants are closed. Only available parking nearby is on a meter in the street. The room I had was a little run down.
70's Stye Hotel... But very good position and kindly staff Wc in different and very small room...
The staff at the desk were exceptionnally friendly and helpful. Location is good for the harbor, which can be reached by walking. There is a grocery store one and a half blocks north on the Rue de Paris. This hotel has an elevator.
The hotel was located in the city center, which was great. The bathroom is not really separated from the room, but this is still OK.
Excellent location, clean rooms, friendly helpful staff, great value.
Clean, proper rooms in the middle of the city centre. Excellent for a city trip, since its cheap and very central. Great boulangerie (bakery) next door! The staff behind the desk could have been a little bit more friendly every now and then and there also absent quite a lot.
Absolutely everything - the proprieters are charm itself - fantastic value, spotlessly clean.I cannot fault this hotel in any way and we will certainly go back. Breakfast is excellent. Absolutely nothing - we have stayed in other larger more expensive hotels and they don't come anywhere near the Richelieu. We are world wide seasoned travellers. This is fantastic value.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice room A bit of smell of smoke in the room on arrival so necessary to open window.
nice staff. comfortable room (good bed), our bikes were safely parked in a garage.
receptionist/owner tried to do all she could when it became apparent one of the booked rooms was not available. The alternative room smelt very musty
We just slept at the hotel. We have been visiting the normandien coast. The staff talks perfect english and is very friendly. The rooms are very clean, but basic. But that is all you need if you are visiting for a few days. For a 2 star hotel i am impressed parking during the week is in the street and is payed parking between 900:1200 and 13:00-1800 (expect sundays)
The room was adequately furnished and clean, bed comfortable. Location convenient for town centre and easy to find. The big price mark up for single occupency
Isabelle and her husband were very nice and helpful. The bathroom didnt have a door only a courtain to separate.
comfortable and I really liked the smell of linen, smelled like home...
quite reasonable price. breakfast was poor
The hotel was conviently located in Le Havre and it had a private car park. The rooms were looking tired and were in need of redecorating but were clean and comfortable.
The beds were comfortable and the food good. . The shower bracket was broken which meant the shower had to be held in the hand and the curtains did not close correctly which let the light into the room
Staff were very helpful and the bar opened late No shower over the bath, only a hand held shower
Free WiFi on groundfloor. Nice location, perfectly inbetween beach and city centre. The room we got was old, dirty and very smelly. We went to the reception and they gave us another room. The hotel is very old and really needs a big renovation. In the bar, nearly all the seats were raptured. In our second room, the lamination was broken. It all looks very tired, and priorities aren't right. A new tap and a new showerbath, but all the old waterpipes are still there. It all needs a new floor coating and a new wall covering, but they choose to invest in flatscreens (they installed them when we slept there: early in the morning in the room next to us with a huge drill!). I really don't understand. When we checked out, there was a misunderstanding and I asked some questions. The receptionist went mad and wasn't friendly at all!
MY Honest opinion is : Staff was really friendly....location was amazing...pillow & bed was awesome:). Good people with good service make your day. So this hotel would definitely be my only choice when i go to Le-Havre again No complaints at all
convience, locality, easy booking in,tidy clean room/late bar service cost, expensive local beer, no tea/coffee making faciltys, charge for scooter parkin
Myself and my two young grandchildren stayed one night so as to catch the early morning ferry to England. The hotel was very close to the ferry port, which as a foreigner I welcomed. We arrived and stayed overnight on a Sunday. Regretably most of Le Havre was closed. This included the restaurants and cafes. I had to drive my young children quite distance out of Le Havre to find food for them. It would have been much better if Les Gens de Mer had been able to provide us with a meal.
Kind hotel staff at front desk. Martime theme all through the hotel makes it look very cheap.
