What are the pros of staying at Balbianino?
Everything was great and comfortable. Perfect location, very nice host. Staff are extremely welcoming and supportive. Very nice small hotel and not too far from the lake. Good breakfast and quiet location. Perfect choice, next to lake. Small, quite village with all the basic comforts for a tourist. Clean and spacious room near to the lake. The thighs we liked the most were how clean the room was and how close the location is to Villa Balbianello. We would definitely recommend this place! ?. Very beautiful and spacious rooms that were modern with traditional decoration. Super clean and very friendly stuff. Easy to get there by car. Staff is amazing, good and clear instructions for getting to the property. Great location, close to lake, but quiet. Good breakfast. The location of the property, close to good restaurants and the ferry service was perfect. The staff were also so friendly and accommodating. It was also excellent value for money compared to other Lake Como prices. We chose to stay near Villa Balbianello for our daughter’s wedding paying extra to secure parking Walking to Hotel Tremezzo was about 50 minutes and there’s only 1 taxi servicing the area. Great to be near the old town with a fab little patisserie up the road. Serviced daily and comfortable bed. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a lot of light and although we were right on the road, it was very quiet. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful, and the entire premises is very cozy and tastefully decorated. We were in Lenno for work so wifi was important and worked perfectly. They were very accommodating for the extra time we needed to hang around before work, too. I felt most at home at this stay in the apartment. The apartment was beautifully decorated and cozy. It had a fully equipped kitchen so we didn’t have to eat out all of the time. It had a washing machine and clothing line which was very useful. The breakfast had great options, we are glad we opted to pay for it as it was well worth it. It’s only an 8 minute walk to the ferry stop to go visit other Lake Como cities. It’s also right near the Greenway del lago di Como trail and the entrance to Balbianello. I would definitely stay here if l came back to Lake Como. It's a good place to stay for a few days. Interior classic not old. Very clean. Good location, restaurants and ferry station nearby. Friendly staff. The property located in the quiet town of Lenno. There was plenty of free parking and very good restaurants nearby. We had a fantastic view of the lake from our room too. The room was fresh and very clean - had all what was required for a very comfortable stay. We were greeted by the very friendly staff and given good recommendations on restaurants options and things to do. We would love to be back again! Everything!!! The hosts were super friendly and helpful, the hotel has enormous much charm with all the old features. Very very clean and tidy, we had the luxe rooms, they were amazing! So spacious, so clean, so much comfort, and again they have put so much into the details! We really felt at home! Clean towels and daily cleaning of the room. The bed was very comfy and the view of the lake amazing! So close to everything you need, the villa, shops, restaurants, boat rental, ferry and beach. The breakfast was very good too!! Homemade cakes, freshly cooked eggs and fresh cappuccino, wauw! Really recommend this place, we will definitely come back! Friendly staffs, beautiful view and comfortable room. Staff were very welcoming and the room was really nice and clean. Bed was comfortable and the shower was really good. Breakfast was yummy as well! Great location near villa Balbianello and cute hotel interior. House is located very close (200 m?) to the lake and about 20 minutes by walk to Balbianello vila. Parking is awailable in close surrounding. You might be lucky and get the free spot in front of the accomodationor there is quite cheap public parking a bit further. If you want to swim, there is ublic beach not so far. People are very friendly and we got lot of good tips for food and trips. Room was comfortable with A/C. Breakfast was good in lovely main meetig room with view to the garden. Great location, clean and good breakfast.
What are the cons of staying at Balbianino?
A little noisy on the ground floor. Designated parking for extra payment. A little bit noisy, walls were thin. No breakfast and there wasn’t a nice view of the lake but everything else made up for it. We visited end of October so the following may be because it's late in the season. 1. Not many restaurants, and most only open for dinner. 2. Ferry started late (9am) and ended quite early (just after 7pm). Quite out of the way if you’re coming from Como as it is around a 45 minute drive, especially if arriving by train. A taxi was around €70 or the bus was close and accessible for much less. No lift so be mindful of luggage and accessibility. Room service left a little to be desired as crockery for inside room wasn’t replaced after use and they only change bedsheets once a week. Unfortunately no elevator, but because is beautiful renovated old building. The room was getting a bit cold in the night, even though it was quite warm during the whole day. It would be nice to have some blankets for the sleep. The pillows were hard and very uncomfortable. There was no way to contact the reception from room phone & there is no elevator. The shower was very small. The mattress was very hard. The selection of breakfast could be better (it was very good but not many choices). The room was directly next to the breakfast room. Not a standart AC, just a ventilation. 1 floor and no night curtains in the bathroom. :( There was no fridge and the shower was very awkward to get in and out of. All towels were dirty..we have noticed that at evening when no one was at the reception. We send a message via booking and asked to return the money, but the manager only offered a free breakfast like apology. Also we found a cockroach in the bathroom. To be honest it was a disgusting experience. There was a leak from the ceiling onto my bed, but a lovely staff member helped me move the bed and cleaned up the dust underneath. Pillows were hard.
