This hotel is in a beautiful setting, right on Lake Como, with the Ferry adjacent! A wonderful place to relax and breathe!
The staff are helpful, but not too intrusive. The location is fantastic and it's great to have the pool as I'd certainly never swim in the lake! The rooms are a bit sparsely furnished which makes it feel a bit cold.
Very helpful and pleasent staff Nice large room with comfortable bed excellent location for ferry. Poor breakfast for a 4* hotel power bath and shower did not work properly Air conditioning did not work properly
This hotel was the best....the staff always going the extra mile to help you...the view is breathtaking...the breakfast was delicious and varied. Best hotel in Italy in our trip.
Easy atmosphere, well run, well staffed and overall very friendly place to go to. None.
The hotel has an excellent location on Lake Lario (Como) with easy access to water taxi services
The lake view is spectacular. The beds were not very good. Creaky and thin mattress.
It's not as touristy as the other cities on lake como. It was very easy to get around since the ferry is literally right outside the hotel steps. T The wifi was terrible. This seems to be the case for most of Europe, but it as quite frustrating since that was our main means of getting around.
The staff was excellent and very helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Parking was free. Breakfast was good. Excellent location. It should be known that there are additional costs for lake views, this information was not available at the time of the booking. Also that full board was available and what was the cost of this option.
location, lake view small television in the room
Nice hotel right on Lake Como, easy walk to Villa Carlotta and Villa Barbianello. TV needs to be updated and more English speaking channels. no wifi in room.
Staff very eager to please Sadly our well behaved dog was restricted to room and non-public areas. He was welcome in the village terrace bars and surely could have been also welcome in the hotel casual terrace bar. We can find hotels more accepting of dogs. Hence my non-recommendation below.
Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni did a fantastic job of taking care of us - very comfortable room, welcoming staff, and wonderful facilities. They were great with greeting you by name, suggestions on activities and arranging dining reservations. It didn't matter if you pulled up in a Bentley or not ( we didn't)
Gorgeous hotel in a beautiful Italian lakeside town - spectacular setting, beautiful gardens - hard to get to but worth it - rooms and hotel kept very clean - crisp linen bedding - Concierge very helpful with car rental, day trip to visit nearby villa, dinner reservations etc. - delicious buffet breakfast Didnt realize Bellagio was so far north - hard to get to as you have to navigate along a steep, narrow, winding road - We did not know that you could take a car ferry from Como which would have made things a lot easier - However, the hotel was beautiful
Mistral restaurant, quality of room, location and view; pool and lake swimming; access to ferries to wide range of destinations. The sommelier at Mistral was outstanding, as was all the service there. Our room (park view) was superb, spacious, elegant and had a balcony. The outdoor cafe - under the pergola - had much poorer service and value than any other part of the hotel and was disappointing.
The only good thing about this hotel in all honesty was the location in Bellagio. First of all this is a rather pricey place. That is fine if the hotel is worth it. 5 * this is not, I can't even push to a 4 *. This was supposed to be the best hotel in Bellagio so we chose to stay here for our friends' wedding in Varena. The hotel staff was cranky - not a smile on anyone there, if you ever could find someone! I felt like I was in the movie The Shining. The hotel was very depressing, really in need of renovation. It smelled old and musty-- there were lace doilies with plants throughout the hotel -- I felt like we were staying with Grandma! Electric outlets in our room didn't work, nor did the safe. Every noise could be heard in the hotel, doors slamming, echoes. I do not recommend you stay here.
One of the top hotels in the world. Every aspect of the stay was excellent.
We have stayed at the Villa Serbelloni three times and have enjoyed the elegance, romantic ambiance and comfortable rooms. The food was excellent in both dining rooms and the service excellent. The concierge gave us good information. We were also given an upgrade....great. there is nothing we did not enjoy about the hotel.
Wery fine hotell, service at top, good orchestra every night. One of the best 5 star hotel.
The hotel staff was very accommodating. I asked if they could find the Venice marathon on TV and they found it. They massage person was willing to stay late to fit me in. The staff in the fitness center was very helpful. The bed turn down in the evening could have left a piece of chocolate or something
We were made to feel so special and nothing was ever to much for the wonderful staff
Limited and costly use of the Internet or Wi-fi
Spectacular view. Very nice rooms. Getting there by public transit with relatively large luggage was challenging.
Very good location, excellent service. Non
The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Facilites excellent, parking available. Brand new hotel.
The views from our room were spectacular....4* The bathroom was very modern but the hand held shower & no curtain made for a wet bathrom...2* All rooms seem to have either patios or balconies and all faced lake Como.4*. The hotel runs a complimentary shuttle several times a day and provides parking..4* They have a lovely pool with views...4* The beds were comfortable...3* The hotel is remote and too far from Ballagio to walk. Often the management is condescending. The very basic continental breakfast was over priced but the first shuttle didn't run until 10 am and there is no place within walking distance.
-Very frIendly and helpful staf. Fantastic wiew to the lake, better than luxury hotels or rich people villas have. Large living/bedroom with kitchen facilities. Very good price value. Excelent heating/air conditioning system. Cleaning very good inside and outside the hotel. Garage incl. price. Breakfast well enough to compare the price.
All rooms have amazing view of the lake and the mountains, rooms are large and very clean.
This hotel is breaht takingly beautiful. Has a very zen like, serene feel to it. Rooms are very simple, clean. Wonderful big, deep tub, towel warming racks, powerful shower heads, internet access via cable provided by front desk for 10 euro deposit. They gave us a ride to and from town at no cost. Breakfast provided. A little removed from central bellagio. Approx a 10 to 15 minute taxi ride from in town, cost about 10 euro. Worth every penny. Wonderful front desk staff, wonderful facility, couldnt ask for a better view. I will definitely go back to this hotel. None
There's nothing negative to say. Great room, great balcony, great view, great service, good price.
The hotel is about 5mins drive from Bellagio. Without a car, it would have been very difficult to get the town centre even though there is a bus (very infrequent - every 2 hours) which stops right outside the hotel. However, the hotel offers a shuttle service between the hotel and the town centre on request, which is a great service. This hotel is brand new and has modern decoration with a great view of the lake. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom could have been a bit more functional e.g. a glass shower screen. Otherwise, a very big bathroom.
the view of the lake
This place is fantastic. The day spa is superb and service tops
free internet access
Fantastic old style hotel with great facilites and great staff. Just about the best location on the Lake Como with great views over the lake and Bellagio. Bad Internet service and ridicoulous to pay extra given the EUR 500+ daily room cost
Wonderful location, great service, excellent food, elegant hotel
Very nice location and facilities. outlook from restaurants and bars over the lake very impressive. Nothing in particular.
The Hotel looks very nice from the outside. Furthermore its situated in Tremmezo which close to a lot of nice place like Belaggio, etc.. The reception staff is very friendly and helpfull. The rooms need a lot off refurbishing, its not looked after for a long time. Also the rooms are very noisy, you can hear everything what happens next and above you. The waiters aren’t what you would expect for a 5 star hotel. Long waiting times for drinks and food. They don’t seem to enjoy serving you or answering question. The food and drinks are extremely pricy. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels but this is definitely overpriced. Also the waiters and many other staff don’t speak english. Not a problem when you stay in a 3 or 4 star hotel. It can be charming in the begging that they don’t speak English but i would prefer they would speak English
Location, facilities, room I was very unhappy with the service I received at the beach bar
Grand style of decorations, yet very comfortable, No
great place, would highly recommend one of the finest hotels in italy i have benn too. none
Hotel was very nice, although a bit pricey. Location was excellent, as was the service. I was pleased with our stay and would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.
We had a nice room with a lake view--just what we had asked for. Nice buffet breakfast included with room. We were very pleased.
Location, location, location. I had a room overlooking Lake Como, so the view was beautiful. Extremely nice staff. My room also had a large bathroom, although some did not. Good value. Nice size room. No Internet in rooms, only lobby. Lobby is small and hardly accommodated those who needed Internet. Also, no room left for other guests to sit. No iron in room and/or no ironing room. Big problem as I always iro when I get to hotel. Had to pay neighboring cleaners business to press my clothes, and they weren't open until the following day after check-in, etc. I would say hotel is good for romance but not good enough for honeymoon.
The location of the hotel is beautiful. The room was comfortable and the staff was very accomidating. We would gladly stay again in the future.
Proximity to boats and shops with a reasonable and convenient restaurant attached. Breakfast. Plenty of choice but awful coffee, a toaster that did not toast, boiled eggs hours old, scrambled eggs and bacon watery and mostly cold.
The excellent position and the mini suite was of a high standard, breakfast was good by european standards with wide selection of items.
The location was wonderful. The staff very friendly and helpful, the room was great with a view over the lake . Expensive
The situation of the hotel directly facing the lake The bar staff were a little slow in coming to serve drinks outside the hotel
Great location with outstanding views from front rooms and (small) breakfast terrace. Large comfortable room. Free internet in reception.
The room was attractive and comfortable with a nice view of Lake Como. THe staff was friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Staff at the desk were very helpful. The location was fine, and views from the dining room were spectacular. Noisy motor scooters passing by after we'd gone to bed (we were on the street side of the hotel)
Enjoyed our stay, this is the forth accasion we've stayed and have never been disappointed, although it's getting rather PRICY - see what you can do for regular supporters - It's costly enough flying from Australia Not applicable
The staff was very helpful and the location terrilfic.
This was an excellent place to stay, from the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful. The spa facilities are wonderful and the views from the hotel can only be described as spectacular. We would highly recommend this hotel.
Location. No free wifi.
Good price, beautiful view of the lake from our room and private balcony. The interior was a little over the top. And the "hot breakfast" was only server for a couple of hours in the morning.
Very nice atmosphere. Excellent location. Very courteous and professional service ----
It is very close of the lake situated in the main road and has parking The doors are closed at night and if you arrive after 12pm you will have to phone a very nice guy Joel to open the door (poor him!)
Very comfortable rooms and lounge areas, though very ornate. Ideally situated for Lake Como and the cross lake ferry service with wonderful access to the lake side and the few shops wine bars etc. Especially attractive at night looking across the lake. The staff were very polite and helpful Wasn't very impressed with the evening meal but the breakfast buffet service was excellent with a very wide choice on offer and of good quality, run very efficiently for the size of the hotel which is huge.
superb location. nice staff, big room poor breakfast.
we had a very nice room that was larger and much more elegant than we expected for the money - a cut above other rooms! breakfast was dreadful - not at all worth the money. orange jiuce wasn't juice, coffee came out of a self service machine and tasted horrible, hardly anything to eat - I would only recommend this hotel if you pay more for the lakeside view and larger room
We liked the location and the oldness of the hotel. The room view of the lake was splendid. The rooms were very small, and the bathrooms smell bad.
off season price -breakfast included.
excellent English breakfast, free parking nearby without security. BIG room and romantic lake view. 2 min to the Pier. wonderful with those who like Lake and leisure far away from City. It's a big hotel so there are a lot of crowdy group tour
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was well located, clean and the view from our room was stunning. Breakfast was basic but ample. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends and if we were to return to the area we would definetely look to stay here again. Nothing related to the hotel.
Visit Bellagio Nothing. Some people thought the rear rooms were dark but we didn't and it was nice look out on a cobble alley
Clean room, breakfast not rich but ok,quiet place I have booked a room with a lake view, but I was given a one without. They said it was me who was mistaken.Their lake view rooms cost 160 and mine was 140,but it was on promotion. The horel is not worth the money, but apparently it is because of the touristique attraction of Belaggio
Purchased the room with a view and our jaws literally dropped to the floor once we walked into our room because of how unbelievable the view was. Aside from that, the furniture, decor, and amenities within the room are all very update and seemingly very new. The style of the furniture and decor are also fitting for a Lake Como hotel. The included breakfast was delicious and the entire staff was unbelievably sweet. Keep in mind there is a good amount of stairs to walk up to the front door of the hotel in case you have a lot of luggage. But no complains whatsoever about this place. It was amazing.
The location of the hotel.
The staff was very friendly. This particularly lady at the front desk offered information about good places to see and eat. And the restaurant she recommended turned out to be very good. It didn't have a bar.
I fell in love with Bellagio, and this hotel was perfect for my stay. Tucked away between the upper road into town and the lower road along the lake, this hotel was charming and romantic with big, huge views of the lake and mountains. The rooms were simple but clean and comfortable. The owner, Jane, was gracious, welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast on the small terrace, overlooking the town was delightful. I loved it so much, I extended my stay by another day and would have moved in if they would have let me. The night clerk did not give me my requested "wake-up" call the first day, and woke me an hour late the second day. I didn't ask for one on the third day. Other than that, a perfect stay.
Incredible location; views of Lake Como and the mountains. Very good value. Room was somewhat small but very tastefully decorated. Very helpful and pleasant staff No complaints
Nice location but a little overpriced....but then most are in Bellagio. Still like it very much
Helpful staff, very convenient location. Our bed was two beds pushed together.
Location was great, room very nice, breakfast average. 38 steps to front door workable, parking convenient and free!
The view from our room and location It is old and needs major updates, parking is difficult
The location and the view of the hotel was fascinating. The city of Varenna is a really nice place. The stuff of the hotel were very nice and friendly (especially the receptionist). The room was poor and old furnished, equiped (e.g. old TV set), however it was clean and the common areas of the hotel was beautiful. Because of the quality of the room we think the hotel does not reach the 4 stars.
The location was great and the view from our room could not have been better.
A great position, get a lake facing view
It has a good location and must have been a lovely hotel in its day. The hotel is old and dated. It was expensive and yet the carpets need to be replaced, the hairdrier was brocken, bed linen was a bit shabby.
Location, fantastic view from the room, friendly and clean Room was gloomy, bathroom was small and shower was tiny.breakfast fruits were not ripe.
Varenna is a beautiful place and hotel location is perfect This is the most overpriced hotel we ever stayed in. Poor service, hotel facilities and our room, very limited breakfast were not worth the money we payed.
Beautiful view of lake and mountains. The hotel felt old but very luxurious. The room and bathroom were huge and very comfortable. Parking was scarce.
Staying in a room with a balcony overlooking Lake Como. The hotel staff was reticent to recommend restaurants aside from their own.
Breakfast was good, yet served in a room away from the spectacular lake view which was a bit puzzling since that view is what they promote on their website as a selling feature. Bed was very hard and pillows thin and hard - I was glad we were only booked for 1 night on it. Given the star rating of the hotel, the bathroom toiletries & paper supplies were very cheap compared to other similarly rated hotels we stayed in this same trip.
Great hotel and location as well as staff.
the service of the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel and the views from the hotel. none
Excellent hotel with an ideal location overlooking the Como lake. The hotel is owned by two twin sisters and their husbands who provide a family like atmosphere and are extremely freindly and helpful. The rooms and facilities are newly furnishend, very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!!!
The staff/owners were amazing and friendly. Extremely clean, beautiful views.
views and staff helpfulness
The location, views and staff made our stay very comfortable. We had everything we needed to enjoy Lake Como Tiled floors throughout with no slippers
What a wonderful hotel, in a beautiful location, the view from our balcony was breathtaking. The staff were helpful, we needed help with transport as we had no car and they helped arrange taxis and gave us directions and information on best places to visit. When we arrived and when we departed they transported us between the hotel and ferry port themselves. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there is a good snack menu available which kept us fed on several occasions. Drinks and snacks were not over priced as is the case in many hotels. The room (suite for 4) was very comfortable with two rooms and bathroom, safe, minibar, airconditioning, flatscreen tv with sky, and balcony overlooking the pool and panoramic views of lake como. We booked this hotel because we could not get a villa at late notice, i think that eas lucky for us, as this hotel was as good if not better than any villa. Because of the small number of rooms, it never felt busy, and a few evenings we were the only people sitting on the bar balcony overlooking the lake, paradise! Please note, if you do not have a car, this hotel is about two miles up into the hills above Tremezzo. Taxi fare is 15 to 20 euros down to the town or into mennagio.
We found the staff to be consistently helpful and pleasant, and the breakfasts were very good indeed. We enjoyed our stay very much.
The hotel staff were welcoming and considerate for us during our honeymoon. The staff were well versed, new many languages and would do whatever it took to keep you happy. The pool was super, and the breakfasts were exceptional. Our bed was a combination of two singles and as a result the sleep at times was uncomfortable. The bed was firmer than I am accustomed to using.
Very nice hotel with excellent views over Lake Como. Close to the Lake ferries and centrally located. Pleasant and enthusiastic staff. It's a steep hike up the hill from the Lake. Only microwave meals and snacks in the evening.
the owner could not do enough for us and even drove us into bellagio to get the boat and also helped us to plan our days and printed out timetables nothing at all
A lovely hotel with beautiful views of Lake Como. Free parking and a beautiful buffet breakfast.
I stayed at Hotel Aurora with a group of friends. The staff was very helpful and friendly, the restaurant on the lake was lovely and we all felt we would love to stay there again!
Everthing, location, really helpfull and friendly staff speaking fluent English, the decking by the lake, their excellent restaurant. Noise from restaurant late on Saturday night Sunday morning
Great staff - helpful - very friendly
Lovely hotel and very nice staff.
Access to swim in Lake como. I didn't care for the music all day down at the Solarium. Sometimes, I just want to relax with nothing in the background.
A peaceful alternative to Bellagio - nice staff - new seaside building is very charming with great views and nice rooms. Breakfast could have been better - but if wasn't below average.
They were so helpful and accomodating. Ferries only in that area a few times a day but a safer way to get around instead of driving.
Very good view of Lake Como It is a stuffy place for old Europeans, mostly British, who come in large Groups
Nice elagant old stile hotel with beutifull position and panorama. Excelent service in restaurant, fine kitchen. Also the open pool can be enjoyed if the wheather not fantastic. Not very update bathroom
I stayed in a few places around Lake Como and this one was one of the most comfortable and friendly. A very relaxed atmosphere and very helpful staff. I would stay again and recommend anyone to stay here. There wasn't as much to do in Menaggio itself as some of the other mid lake locations but it was right next to the boat stop so easy to do day trips from here.
Good location, excellent view of Bellagio. Old fashioned television. Bad selection of channels. Need more English channels Wall insulation is not good. You could hear the people next door talking.
it's a nice hotel - nice view, easily accessible 1) odour in the room and certain parts of the hotel 2) no internet connection/WiFi in rooms - need to go to the lobby to gain internet access
The setting was beautiful, and the view from our window was stunning. The staff on the front desk and elsewhere lacked charm and were even rude on occasion.
The location and view were very nice. Our room was filthy upon arrival. They did not compensate for this and have not responded to my email to them about this.
Location - At 8:30 am there was no water. Breakfast closing time is 10:00 am, considering it was Saturday but at 9:30 am there wasn´t enough food and the service was acting as pushing us to finish soon. They let us feel that they were in a hurry. Very uncomfortable. The air conditioning was not working, when I ask they said " it's starting the Autumn season and the weather is cool so we turn it off. I couldn't sleep because the room was hot or at least not fresh enough.
very satisfactory but we only stayed one night so cannot give a complete view. v.good breakfast!
Staff very pleasant, views very good from rooms. Bar situated next door open till 4am quite noisy if you want quiet then may not be the hotel for you.
Our experience of the Grand Hotel Cadenabbia is all totally positive. Such a beautiful hotel and the staff very courteous. Our room with a balcony was on the fourth floor and had a most impressive view of the lake. A 'Lake View' room is a must. We had a very comfortable bed, nice white linen and a great bathroom with lovely toiletries. Lunch on the outside terrace overlooking the lake was great - good food and at a reasonable price. We knew from the website that we were on a road beside the lake, in a 'quiet' area with regards to shops etc., but we were close to the hop-on, hop-off, ferries and could drive into the high mountains if we wished. We would like to return one day and we will certainly recommend this hotel to our friends. There was nothing we did not like.
lovely terrace and pool. a bit isolated, very quiet.
We did like the style of the hotel, the location and the lovely pool area with real lawn and plants and flowers. No complain, but the scrambled eggs at breakfast were terrible.
The views from the sun terrace. I did not like the restaurant menu as it only gave a choice of 3 starters and 3 main courses which is very poor for a 4 star hotel. I did not like that they closed off the sun terrace on the sunday because of a private function and did not inform us. I did not like that we couldn't have a shower in our room. I did not like the noise above our room.
The view is beautiful (if you get a room overlooking the lake), and the location is extremely convenient to the ferry to Bellagio, Varenna, and Menaggio - just a few minutes walk. It was extremely economical, especially for the area, but I would by no stretch of the imagination call this a luxury hotel. The public spaces are nice, but the rooms are basic. The room was inexpensive, a double with lake view and balcony for $190 per night, so it was an excellent value for the location. It is just fine if you don't intend to spend a lot of time in the room, which is rather dingy. The bathroom was clean and modern, however, and the shower's water pressure was excellent. The room was small and very basic, with very few amenities. The furniture was cheap and ugly - like a college dorm room. The bedspread and blankets were dingy and cheap as well - like at a Motel 6. The breakfast was paltry and completely unappealing. Even the coffee was bad! After the first morning, I skipped breakfast every day, even though it was included. The dining room staff was plentiful but consistently unhelpful and brusque.
great building, great pool shabby bedroom i.e.: minor cracks in the wall, warn out floor. Long queue for breakfast
Beautiful terraces... breathtaking and very nice. Poor air conditioning. Restaurant not completed as well but everyone was so wonderful!!!! Did not like the restaurant but I guess they are improving it.
The view was excellent, the room was beautiful and the staff was freindly and helpful The noise from workers who were doing renovations and the traffic outside our window
The view Hotel recently decorated but looks like finished in a rush. Also still some building work going on outside. The bar area inside has too many lights and lacks any atmosphere.
