Ended up not renting the vehicle. When we went to the counter, we were told the insurance (full coverage) Kayak/Expedia included in the fee was not valid, and a separate fee was required to cover driving in Mexico. This added significantly to the cost, almost doubling it. They suggested we rent the car and get our money back from Kayak/Expedia. We declined to rent the car. Not sure where the issue is, and which side is right or wrong. We decided to take Uber for all transportation.
