Delightful location, lovely buildings and manicured grounds, tasteful decoration, comfortable accommodation, peace and quiet... enhanced by a smiling, helpful and professional staff.
Recommended by a friend, this was a real find, both the hotel, which was excellent, and the surrounding countryside, which was a revelation.
Nice setting in the middle of the Barolo region, stylish casle-like building, beautiful view from the top floor (rooms 1-3). Rooms 4&5 are dark basement chambers, breakfast consists of Cafe Americano and industrial croissants, the settlement (Pierno) has no Bar or Restaurant besides the Arco Dei Nobili eatery.
Tranquil atmosphere. Fantastic views. Charming hospitality. No air conditioning. Staff couldn't speak one word of English (and we can't speak Italian)
The people, the wine, the area. In fact - everything, except the pizzaria down the road who appeared to have a dislike for English people.
the location was beautiful, surrounded by a cathedral, vineyards, rolling hills and other homes similar to Del Tufo - Bruno and Agatha made us feel welcomed and at home in their home. It was difficult to find - Google maps does okay to a point, but route #'s end at a certain point and you're basically on your own - a detailed map would be helpful.
The hotel is absolutely great. We really felt like at home. The owner, Bruno, offering great service and treat you like his best friend. Rooms are excellent, breakfast is great. The view is just fantastic. It's a pity we had only a few days there and couldn't make testing of their own wines. I will definitely go there for more.
No one else was there Beware of barking dogs all night
Loved everything. Classical building renovated and decorated with excellent style without being fussy. Fantastic service from the owners, you only had to voice an interest or wish before they would take care of it for you. Lovely views of the Alps from the room balcony where we enjoyed the afternoon sun. Great breakfast. Definitely excellent value for money at Corte Gondina.
Charming little hotel located in a lovely hilltop town of La Morra. Bruno and the rest of the staff were really friendly and extremely helpful with recommendations on places to see, restaurants to dine in and winemakers to visit. The pool was a nice plus on a hot July day! No dining possibility within the hotel, but there are several restaurants within the walking distance.
Excellent hotel. Traditional building with all the spirit and the atmoshere of italian winefields. pool, rich breakfast , traditional rooms, excellent services. If you are around STAY at gondina... excellent!
Perfect location, attentive staff, great value!
Location is ok, very clos to Barolo town (5 min drive). We had two beds instead of one queen/king size. The windows facing a busy road.
excellent reception by the owner/staff upon arrival. great room and lovely surroundings
This hotel is a must. It's homely and modern at the same time and they are extremely friendly and helpful.
Incredibly hospitable. This is really a diamond in the rough. I will be recommending this hotel to all my friends who visit Piedmont regularly.
quiet, clean and confortable
Outstanding breakfast and food service was also of a high standard Nothing poor about hotel except from the fact it looks like it is just outside the town of la morra i.e. More country - the town of la morra and surrounding towns had no activities and there were very few people around - this was disappointing
