Shower temperature gage did not work, only small issue, used the bath instead
Very friendly staff
Close to where we needed to be This was a nice place if you like 70's decor It appears nothing has been updated or repaired since the 70's
Friendliness of staff. Not applicable.
Staff, especially reception staff, are always very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts are plentiful and varied. Bar meals are very good value.
Main restuarant and restaurant staff were excellent. The room allocated to us was very small. Because we were visiting Leyland on business we booked a double executive room so that we could also do some work in our room. This proved impossible. Plus the room was down in the basement and was very dark. Also, we had lunch in the bar restaurant but the service was very bad. we waited 20 mins for our starter then a further 45 minutes for our main course. Twice we had to enquire about our food.
The ox cheek meal The toast was burnt
We thought the decor was amazing, the hotel room we stayed in was lovely and the breakfast was very nice. All in all we would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
Very Friendly & helpful staff. Very nice leisure facilities Restaraunt closed Saturday nights.
best hotel breakfast in a long time and lovely meal in the evening spent entertaining famlily who were also impressed with the standard. very welcoming staff through out the hotel.
The mattress was a combination of being extremely poor quality & extremely old resulting in uncomfortable nights sleep.
friendly, polite, entertainment, clean comfortable rooms
The staff were excellent This hotel is in dire need of modernisation and, in particular. the bedrooms. £80 per night for this standard of hotel is too much. The website is misleading.
excellent amenities and good food beds not very comfortable
Cosy & excellent value on special promotions. None
The price The best was extremely hard!
not to busy and in a good spot
The amount of facility's that was available. The bed was like trying to sleep on a slab of concrete.
Welcoming, friendly reception staff. Spacious comfortable room with air conditioning, big bed and beautiful bathroom. Excellent breakfast.
everyone was so freindly and helpful the food was fantastic very clean very modern great choice of wines the rooms were of a very good stanard could not fault the hotel in any way
We got what we expected
The location of the hotel and the parking facilities. The breakfast buffet was excellent.
The hotel is in a good location with all the top class amenities you'd expect of a venue of this standard. All the staff were very helpful and extremely pleasant. Restaurant staff especially made you feel relaxed and were a good laugh. Have been before and will definitely return.
Big room, friendly service and ease of access to Blackpool Promenade The Breakfast Buffet seemed disorganised as we had to wait nearly half an hour to get a table. When we got to our table, there were many tables not filled around us. They don't seem to be able to have enough staff/tables to accomodate all guests in a full hotel.
Overall a very nice hotel, the breakfasts were amazing! The rooms were pretty basic, bedside lights did not work, no batteries in tv/dvd remotes, bathroom linen could have been better (no flannels or bath robes) Very noisey during the night!
Close to the pleasure beach. Home from home. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely. Having to go home.
it was a very clean and staff were so helpful, room was amazing, had a great stay and will be returning.
the size of the rooms, the staff in the bar very customer focused. the hot ice package very good value for money and excellent breakfast menu. dvd didn't work very well, and there was dust under the tv, when checking package wasn't explained it was only on asking did we find out what was included.
everything the weather
Location. Oasis. Breakfast queues.
Check iN was efficient One of the two rooms I booked was in an abysmal position. Having to pay for two nights when I only wanted one was also annoying. Breakfast was way too expensive as was the bar prices
the hotel was very nice and the staff were very freindly and helpful, there prices were reasonable, but for families it could run out a bit expensive. as for my wife and i it was okay and we would definatlet go back
A lovely hotel, we had a really nice stay.
Been staying at your hotel for the past five years in november and we have always had a pleasent stay, nice and relaxing atmosphere friendly staff and good food..
Fantastic Staff - brilliant location Only 1 radiator worked in the suite - cold at times. Only 1 window capable of opening - rest were screwed shut!!!
the package i booked was fab value for money and we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge
The hotel is very stuffy and mostly for eldery people. the lounge and the bar where very quiet and did not have a relaxed atmosphere
staff most helpful and we were fortunate to have an upgrade of room as a result of our membership . We were at Blackpool for a show, unfortunately Restaurant did not open until 1900hrs too late for us however this is not a complaint under normal circumstances we would not eat so early.
nothing the food was late and cold
Leaving Value for money
Proximity to transport facilities
It was nice and homely.
It ticked all the boxes Paying to park, the room rates are high enough to cover this
Would have liked sky tv in the room.
we order a breakfast in room, and it wasnt nice at all, i had a upset stomach after eating it...
at the arival to the hotel the hotel had a different rate then it was originaly stated in my booking after sorting it out with hotel manager the rate was corrected but was at great inconvenience.
The bar staff were really nice The matress was a disgrace you could feel the springs through also we were wakened with banging at 7.45 from workmen in another room
The hotel was very clean, the choice of food was good The hotel could do with 2 more lifts, there were a lot of disabled guests staying and the lifts are only large enough for 1 chair, creating a long wait for the others travelling in that party.
Location was brilliant. Staff were generally very friendly and helpful. Be prepared to queue for breakfast in the morning.
Very good hotel with welcoming staff. A long walk to the room. The room was quite cold but a heater was provided on request.
Very comfortable hotel to stay at.
Room Service was disappointing - slow service, food was not as listed and expensive for the quality.
The cleanliness of the room and the general warmth and comfort of the hotel The cooked breakfast was very disappointing. It was very oily and tasted like it had all been cooked in the same pan!! It sounded far nicer on the menu than it actually was.
location, food, service
Very helpful staff, who were more than eager to please
Strong smell of drains in the public area, repairs were on going.
Diner was not acceptable at the price very poor.
When we arrived the room given to us had no heating working, the front desk were very helpful and moved us to another room. However this also had no heating but again we were pleased the way it was handled by staff, an electric heater was installed. These things happen but it was the way it was put right that impressed us.
we both loved this hotel could not fault it excellent best hotel have ever been to
Probably the best hotel in Blackpool. The standard of the rooms, facilities and staff were the highest quality. It was obvious that the proprietor and his staff took pride in taking care of guests and providing an excellent service on a personal level to everyone. The rooms had the latest modern equipment in the bedroom and bathroom and the food in the restaurant was very good. I will defintely come back here the next time we're in Blackpool.
the staff is very helpful and polite ..... hotel is clean and new...... room is also clean, relaxing and new with a amazing sea view from the balcony. everything was just perfect.....thanks you guys from Number One South Beach!!! i will definitly be back and recommend my friends to stay at ur hotel!! nope .........
Excellent hotel staff very friendly room 4 excellent room would stay again & recommend to anyone
The room was comfortable and clean. Overpriced for what it offered and it's location.
A beautifully, modern decorated hotel with quality furnture and fittings which is extremely clean and well presented. The staff were very friendly and helpful in advising a restaurant to eat in. The breakfast menu was superb. Situated just off the main promenade between central and south piers. A must for couples wanting something a little bit more upmarket whilst in Blackpool.
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean comfortable rooms. Excellent facilities. Evening meal was delicious. None to note
it was a beautiful room, so comfortable, and the food was of the highest standard, such a fantastic choice of well cooked, tasty breakfast food Nothing at all. it had everything we wanted in a hotel
The welcome on arrival, the comfort and appointment of the room including the bathroom and the splendid breakfast. The slowness of th computer at check out and the misinformation regarding my bill for drinks and snack in the bar; the mistake was eventually fixed and there was no dispute but the cashier was very slow to cope with this minor irregularity.
Great Time, Staff very attentive None
Disability access excellent. Friendly and attentive staff. Speeed of checkout excellent. Wedding party guests included yopung children running around the bar area. Perhaps better segregation of noisy guests or a quiet resident guest area.
Staff courteous friendly, hotel had nice layout, and quiet. On arrival, I stepped on a large piece of discarded chewing gum at the entrance to the hotel. The heel of my shoe took the brunt. The staff gave me a bucket of ice and a knife (brought to my room) for me to try to get it off. The gum had stuck into the grooves of the sides my heel. I could not get it off. On checking out, I once again stepped on chewing gum when leaving the hotel. This time I could not get it off the sole of my shoe, I found that my shoe was sticking to my pedals on the car. Subsequently I now need to have my shoes reheeled at the cobblers as I cannot get the chewing gum off. A disgusting experience. They really should check the entrance for cleanliness.
Asked staff 3 things about my stay was told would get back to me never did, bar staff kept disapering from bar to serve food had to waite for them to return, would not sell coffe late at night if bar busy but could get coffe after most guest gone to bed.
The hotel provides only three disabled parking spaces - and fails to'police' those.
Good Food Not near a town for off site food etc
small but well equipped room Plastic backed mattress cover
The hotel is set in parkland and is very quiet. The decor is most attractive and the service excellent. Staff are polite and helpful. The room and bathroom were spotless and extremely comfortable. N/A
Quiet and very comfortable Nothing
Excellent food thank you!
beautiful place very plush heating not good, hot water only warm
I was surprised at the luxury of the newly refurbished room. The room was spacious and the bathroom had a seperate shower cubicle. I wasn't too impressed with the portable beds hanging out of a cupboard on one of the landings. The decor of the old part of the building needs attention now to fall in line with the recent building work.
It was grubby - the room was stuffy and stale, and none of the windows could be opened. The tv didn't work. After asking twice a fan was brought - it was broken. Then another fan was brought. My breakfast was good but my dinner was indifferent and over priced. The loin of lamb was tough - hardly any vegetables. Nouvelle cuisine is so passe. The assiette of desserts was fun, but chocolate dessert in a shot glass caouldn't be eaten with a pudding spoon - even a teaspoon which I had to ask for didn't fit the glass, and the brandy snap was like concrete.
The room was modern and very comfortable. A request to turn down the heat in the room was ignored. There are no controls in the room itself. Also a request for a very early continental breakfast to the room (6.00am) was forgoten and the person had to leave without breakfast.
Extremely pleasant reception and waiting staff. Large room, comfy bed and made to feel very welcome. Excellent breakfasts
Facilities were good. Service excellent and the room good. Only down side was a poor internet connection.
Third time I have stayed here. Comfortable and spacious room. Good bar food.
Comfortable rooms, excellent food and efficient and friendly staff made for a very pleasurable stay.
friendly efficient staff with great food very comfortable lounge for pre dinner drinks
The breakfast and breakfast staff were excellent. The bathroom was a god size. having a blind on the window was also a good idea. The adjoining restaurant looked like it had closed down from the exterior. I couldn't get 3 of four of the room lights to work. It feels like its lost its soul and would be better at half of its size.
Excellent quality of food.
the bed in my room ................fantastic...........most restfull.........l want one at home reception area was a let down only one client at a time seen to reception desk was low down and we had to wait while guest sorted out trivial matters for 20 mins whilst we just wanted to book in more reception staff needed
Clean room, very friendly staff, convenient location and room facilities - ironing board and iron, mini bar etc... were very good. Food and drink options seemed to end early, 2130, so a late meal, which would have been useful for my situation, was a non starter - however bar staff were friendly.
Friendliness of staff, quality of food, a hassle free experience. Do not like foam pillows, would have preferred a choice i.e. feather or down.
service good - location good - food outlets and ambience good. rooms too hot for the time of the year.
A very pleasant stay - very friendly staff in reception and The Walled Garden restaurant. Ideal for a trip to Blackpool without staying in the town. Well placed on the A6 and a couple of miles from the M55 and M6 - but it was not noisy. Bedroom was very warm
Service, food, swimming pool & helpful staff. Being placed in a 'garden room' at the perimeter of the car park. Would much rather have been in the main hotel.
The quietness, the surroundings, the comfortable bar, the ample breakfast and the reasonable price of the a la carte and bar menu
size of room no
Location good. Service good. The hotel is in desperate need of a professional makeover. The decor is currently very shoddy.
Staff were very attentive Initially difficult to find
Clean and tidy Bed rock solid (I know this is personal preference) but very uncomfortable. Bathroom freezing cold, to the point where we left without having a shower, waited til we got home. Room also badly sound proofed, could hear everything outside in the corridor.
Our overnight stay was very pleasant with a very clean room, helpful staff and delicious breakfast. Quite difficult to find in the country lanes. (Sat Nav would help I suppose)
despite having to settle for a room without a fourposter bed, it was a nice place to stay, good breakfast. Room not very big and not a great view!
i liked the fact i didn't have to ask for any more milks or for decaf as qalready in room and in abundance, I found the shower really good power and heat, mattress one of the most comfortable this year in any hotel I've stayed in charged for wi fi, no shelter for smokers outside
Comfortable room and bed, good food in evening. Pleasant staff and good location for our business visit. Good value for money on the whole. Disappointing breakfast - chef late on first day, very mediocre scrambled eggs on second! Grouting in the bathroom floor needs some attention, before the tiles start to fall out!
Very good value Pepper sauce on steak, scented
room small, facilaties not all that
pool and room itself was OK Room 117 has terrible view and rooms seems dark-would not come back to that floor again. No staff in gym to ask about equipment.
An excellent hotel, great location, friendly staff
Can't say enough about the helpfullness and quality of the staff. First rate. The "Nineteen" restaurant was very good and value for money. Bedroom was smaller than anticipated. Brasserie did not represent value for money due to limited (and slightly pretentious) menu.
Facilities were good as was the breakfast. Rooms were tired looking and the equipment was dated. Guests allowed to smoke throughout corridors despite no smoking signage. Noise from function rooms below bedrooms can be heard into early hours of morning and then noise from guests who attended function as they come back to thier room.
everything was lovely - very satisfied
location and surroundings room view and lack of air conditioning
I thought the drinks were very expensive, £11 for 3 drinks in the bar. I also didn't like th efact that you can hear everything outside your room when ignorant people are walking past in the evening. Can I suggest that you have staff on each corridor at night making people aware that they need to keep the noise down as people are trying to sleep.
the hotel location, pool, and staff + a very good breakfast with lots of choice rooms are a bit dated but still nice
The room was comfortable and the staff helpful and friendly
