Located in Ferndale, Gingerbread Mansion Inn is a 4-minute walk from Firemens Park and 6 minutes by foot from Ferndale Museum. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, luggage storage, and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The house is beautiful, and the other buildings in town are well maintained. The service was friendly and efficient. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast offered a variety of options.
Cons: Our patio door was difficult to lock.
Pros: Lovely place to stay and beautifully decorated. The host Mary is outstanding !! The breakfast was WONDERFUL. You will not be disappointed.
Cons: Nothing...everything was great.
Pros: The Gingerbread Mansion is a wonderful hotel and is perfect for a weekend getaway. The mansion is beautifully decorated and they leave the unoccupied guest rooms open so you can explore. The food was delicious and there is a great little happy hour with wine and snacks each day. I highly recommend!
Pros: This is such a beautiful place a must see! The breakfast is absolutely amazing
Pros: The feeling of the place was casual and comfortable. Very helpful staff.
Cons: The bed was uncomfortable. It took a long time to get hot water in the shower.
Pros: The breakfast was delicious and homemade. Love the blueberry muffins
Cons: My room was a bit warm as there wasn’t a ceiling fan or temperature control in the room. The room was very big though and nicely decorated.
Pros: Breakfast was huge (and delicious).
Pros: The staff were very accommodating and everything in the hotel was just beautiful. Gorgeously decorated. I felt like I went back in time.
Cons: We were on the bottom floor next to the dining room and were woken up by loud guests. The only other thing was since we were on the first floor and there were no fans or air conditioners in the room we didn’t feel comfortable leaving the windows open while we slept and it was a bit too hot and stuffy while we slept.
Pros: We loved the look and feel of the mansion and the staff were incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful, and the food was good quality/tasty. While Ferndale is quiet, it's close to Eureka and a lot of great outdoor sites (redwoods, etc).
Cons: We were bummed out because we reserved a king room (my partner is 6'8" tall, so we need a large bed) and were placed in a queen room. This made for a really uncomfortable sleep.
Pros: Beautiful Victorian. Very room unique. Good breakfast, kind staff.
Cons: First room was smallest. Moved.
Pros: A good breakfast. The afternoon tea was nice.
Cons: Very small room with inadequate bathroom. Very overpriced. Greeted by a young lady who was wearing old blue jeans and a baseball cap backwards. Due to the price and elegance of this highly rated B&B, very surprised at her appearance! Actually disappointed! The following morning at breakfast, the staff was unfriendly.
With a stay at Ye Olde Danish Inn in Ferndale, you'll be a 5-minute walk from Ferndale Historic Cemetery and 6 minutes by foot from Ferndale Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Supremely quiet and enjoyable natural setting. Enough books for a 2-month stay-♥️
Pros: We have stayed here before & still love it. My detailed review fr 10/2018 on TripAdvisor still stands. For our Ferndale vacations, this place for our family is perfection & constantly wonderful.
Pros: Felt very comfortable, very relaxed, great view of the town of Ferndale. Would recommend to anyone.
Pros: Wonderful experience. Beautiful property, will definitely return.
Pros: I was very friendly host. A beautiful Danish motif.
Cons: Nothing! It was perfect.
Pros: Very friendly and lots of privacy. The grounds were lovely and the view of Ferndale was perfect. Our hosts gave us excellent suggestions on where to eat. Highly recommend this location.
Cons: Everything was fine.
Pros: This is a wonderful place beyond imagination. You may very well dedicate the whole day just to hang around this place, discover every detail inside and out. Make sure you have yet another day to converse with the hosts, they are remarkable and interesting people to speak with
Cons: There's absolutely nothing I dislike
Pros: Beautiful property, on a beautiful hill top location Very clean and cozy You could stay here forever
Pros: Nice couple who own the Inn. We had a large living room, bedroom and bath plus a nice deck we sat on when it wasn't raining. We stayed three nights when originally it was going to be one because of the nice are and Inn. There is an incredible amount of outdoor things to explore and the town of Ferndale is the most classic Victorian place we have ever been. Worth visiting.
With a stay at Victorian Inn in Ferndale, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Ferndale Historic Cemetery and Firemens Park. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Event facilities at this hotel consist of conference space and a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very authantic building, clean, lots of street parking, front desk agent was great and super helpful with his advices, design and style is still in great shape. Breakfast was good as well.
Cons: As you cn expect from an old building, you can hear everything from every room
Pros: Quaint, historic, and sweet at the end of a pretty and well-maintained Victorian main street.
Pros: One of a kind place with friendly staff. Room and entire interior is renovated in Victorian style and looks amazing. The restaurant downstairs is probably the best in Ferndale. Good breakfast (if a bit light).
Pros: Breakfast choices were plenty and delicious and fresh fruit. Staff was helpful and friendly.
Cons: That we could not stay longer.
Pros: Room was clean, but access to the room via the long staircase was a bit dicey late at night. Breakfast in the Vi restaurant was great!
Cons: Restaurants close too early in this town. I didn't like the long staircase to get to our room.
Pros: Wonderful historic building in a lovely town!
Pros: This is a true Victorian. Nicely updated but still the real deal!
Cons: Plan on lugging your luggage up the stairs....no elevators in this Victorian. But worth it!
Pros: The breakfast was good. The two girls who worked there at the office were the only decent staff. The location is great.
Cons: It was not a great experience. The room wasn't cleaned for the three nights we were there. The beds were never changed and the shower and toilets were never cleaned. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. The room was right next to something that made horribly loud noises. We guessed it had something to do with the kitchen because there is no AC. It was horribly overpriced for the amenities we did get. The staff was ok. Only one girl really helped us the whole time. The cleanliness is what bothered us most. We at least expected clean sheets.
Cons: Room was not ADA compatable I didn't know there wasn't an elevator so taking the stairs was hard. The girl on the desk sweet and offered to carry our bags up. There was no soap in the bathroom not grab bars in showet. Maybe I should have told them about being hsndicapped.
Pros: Wonderful- felt like we stepped back in time. Wished we could have stayed longer
Pros: Breakfast wait staff was attentive and very friendly. Food was very good.

Pros: Staff were helpful. Room and bedding were dirty so we were offered another room which smelled like cigarettes. Then Kelsey offered to change the bedding and swept the dust and hair up in the originally offered room. Breakfast was good. Eel River brewery was right next door. Beautiful location by the Eel River Riverwalk.
Cons: Room was dirty (staff member cleaned it up for us) and had other minor issues. Molding was missing on a corner, curtain "rod" screws were missing so it was falling down, graffiti was carved into headboard and bathroom sink was very slow to drain. We discussed the issues upon checkout, staff were sympathetic and cleaned up the room but did not offer any upgrades or compensation :(
Pros: Business hotel, excellent room. Location ok.
Cons: Nothing much.
Pros: Off Hwy 101. Room was clean and nice. Property ok, Breakfast ok
Cons: Shower and water power needs help.
Pros: Everything! Wonderful, comfortable stay!!
Pros: Location was great the staff was fantastic
Pros: Good breakfast, clean rooms, comfy beds and friendly staff.
Pros: The room was huge and very clean. The pool area was nice too
Cons: Beds were a bit hard for my taste
Pros: Breakfast consisted of ham slices; bacon, scrambled eggs plus crossiants/biscuits... usually a vegetarian gravy for the biscuits. There was apple juice; orange juice, an area whereby a refrigerated unit had containers of yogurt. Staff was helpful... I enjoyed the potatoes in cubes... I like the idea of potatoes cooked to perfection with my eggs. They had coffee available but I had my own roasted coffee ☕ waiting for me in my room.
Cons: View; it's not their fault because construction was underway next door to Shell Gas Station. I didn't like when the elevator didn't work but soon discovered it was a temporary power outtage... again something out of their control.
Pros: Location was good, hotel was comfortable, and clean. Good breakfast!
Pros: Good location.
Cons: The noise from the running water above me. Annoying.
Pros: Breakfast was good. Bedding was comfortable. Location was great.
Pros: Like new room
With a stay at Redwood Suites in Ferndale, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Ferndale Historic Cemetery and Ferndale Museum. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Having a form of entertainment/media source in the bedroom.
Pros: The suite was a converted apartment and was fine. Quite comfortable. The breakfast was at the Old Victorian Inn across the street and was very good and the dining room staff are wonderful. I have stayed at the Victorian Inn in the past (same owners), but can no longer make the climb to the wonderful rooms upstairs. They have wonderful food, great staff and I'm glad they took over the ground level motel up the street where we stayed. Our friend stayed in a single room and it had been redone and was very nice. Location is great.
Cons: The room we were in was in need of a little updating. Had an ancient heater and the carpet could use updating. But it was comfortable and clean.
Pros: Bed comfortable enough. Room was quiet. Great charming little town
Cons: Breakfast was pretty mediocre. A little skimpy on the potatoes and ran out of sausages, orange juice and apple juice.
Pros: Great place ,locals exceptionally friendly
Cons: Nothing to complain about here Good food at fair prices
Pros: A gorgeous room in the most perfect position. Breakfast was included. Really friendly staff.
Pros: we didn't have breakfast. the room was nice to have living room and kitchen, not a hotel atmosphere.
Cons: all was good.
Pros: This was a wonderful weekday escape ! It was close to everything in town....close as in right down the road! The only place w drove to was the beach which was a 10 minute drive down the road. Breakfast was delicious, the room was like a small apartment which was convenient for cooking if we chose to save some money. The price was fantastic. We will definitely be staying here again if we want a coastal getaway.
Cons: I am by no means complaining but the tv was on the small side. Normally we wouldn’t even be watching tv however we brought our 5 month old with us so we watched tv when he took his afternoon nap.
Pros: The breakfast was good. We found a good restaurant, the Ivanhoe, for dinner. excellent food. The ride to the ocean and the beach was exceptional.
Pros: We love the service and personal attention and feeling like they really wanted to know you and not just a number. We also like the history in the town and the history of the Inn that is owned by the same owners, really awesome people. Loved it there.
Pros: The breakfaat was fine. A few choices to keep it simple and efficient. The location was just what I wanted, close to everything. The staff , very friendly and helpful.
Cons: I suggested reusing towels to conserve water. This is California.

Pros: Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was adequate. I was very grateful for having almond milk available. Most of the staff very friendly and helpful.
Cons: we were not able to access the swimming pool before 9am and were told by the night clerk he didn'thave a key. Later another worker who was working on the lock to the pool said the lock needed to be fixed and that we could have used the other door.
Pros: Clean and comfortable. Met my needs
Cons: Could have more water pressure in the shower
Pros: Location parkinh
Cons: Jacuzzi bad smell In room, weak shower bad breakfast surly staff.
Pros: The facilities and rooms were spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable. We were able to book two rooms side by side with an opening door for our family of six who traveled together. There was a country, woodsy, coastal feeling to the grounds which included beautiful flowers. The breakfast was excellent. There was a great restaurant right next door where we ordered take-out at 9:30 pm upon arrival and were able to get a tasty dinner. A delightful stay!
Cons: Everything was great!
Pros: Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 5 PM we couldn’t take a shower because they were working on the plumbing the hot tub was not hot . The breakfast was pretty good though
Pros: One of the best of "included" breakfasts.
Pros: Location. It was near a lot of restaurants.
Cons: The picture of the room I got is misleading. I got the queen room with two queen beds. The pictures showed one room with a queen bed connecting to another room with two queen beds. When it was was actually just one room with two queen beds. I had to rent a roll away bed.
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: Every time we took a shower the fire alarm started chirping. It was annoying when my wife was still sleeping.
Pros: Right off freeway but tucked away just enough to be quiet and convenient. Close to restaurants, coffee, gas and conveniences. Not the fanciest from the outside but clean and modern inside.
Pros: Location was great. Easy access to the freeway. Hotel was exceptionally clean as were the rooms.
Pros: The breakfast was good. The staff was very friendly
Cons: The bathroom shampoo and conditioner pump were terrible. Not working at all. The plug in the bathtub was terrible. I was trying to give my grandaughter a bath and the tub would not hold water. It was the car show weekend and the price of the 2 queen bed room for two nights was $715.00 out the door. Way too much money
Pros: People with kids should be placed on the bottom floor especially when they run around in a room. The experience at this hotel was awful. When a complaint was made to the staff the people stomped harder until 10:30.
Cons: Same as above move people to another room when there is a complaint anout noise. We go on vacation to relax. And should be able to do so at a hotel. I have kuds and grandkids. The difference is yhey were brought up to be polite and respectful.

Pros: Very friendly staff.

Pros: Room was clean nice beds. Well kept facilities. Awesome hot breakfast. Front desk staff was great. Overall very happy with 2 night stay.
Cons: Bathroom little small buy functional. Roo
Pros: I love having good coffee in the morning. So good
Cons: People smoke. I understand not letting them smoke in rooms. But why not set up a small area for them to go. Rooms need updated. Looked rundown. Matteress were very old.
Pros: Staff was very professional and check in was easy.
Cons: The mattress was a little hard for our comfort.
Pros: Great breakfast
Cons: Mattress springs Ouch
Pros: Best free breakfast ever.
Pros: Staff was really nice the art work on the walls is beautiful
Cons: Pictures of a hot tube that no longer exists
Pros: It was very clean and for the most part well kept.
Cons: There is no elevator to the second floor. People hanging out in the parking lot.
Pros: Staff very helpful and upbeat
Pros: Lovely big rooms. Very comfortable. Great value for money
Cons: Couldn't fault it at all
Pros: Easy to book. Location is in a good area.
Cons: Room not as clean as it could be. Blanket had large hole in it. Towels are frayed badly. No inside hallways making it noisy from people outside in the evening.

Pros: Nice room, nice beds, good breakfast. It is close to highway 101 but you don’t hear the traffic
Pros: Room was clean, bed was comfortable, and the staff was great.
Cons: The breakfast area is too small for the number of guests.
Pros: Price when youre on a budget
Cons: SMOKING!!! I always go to Comfort Inn because there is absolutely none of that but this time i was in a jam.
Pros: Location was great.
Cons: Breakfast could have been better. Bathroom was not clean.
Pros: Newly remodeled rooms
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: A coworker’s room had fleas. It was not super clean.
Pros: Staff was very curious and helpful. Front desk was very helpful at check in and in the morning
Pros: The spaciousness, nonsmoking were right on the money except for the marijuana smell when we went out of our rooms. I will the smokers would smoke it somewhere else not right outside the doors of the motel. The staff that cleaned the rooms were very courteous and helpful.
Cons: The marijuana smell from other motel stayers.
Pros: Very Clean & well insulated to keep noise out. Has a coffee pot but we were too tired to use it.
Cons: The older heavy lady w/thin white hair assisted demanding a credit card. Refused to give us our room or a reason why. Kept barking "for incidentals" What incidentals do they sell here? NONE I fear. My Credit card re-issued to prevent ID theft. Geeze
Pros: Super crispy waffles Really nice staff Big bathtub
Cons: Whirlpool function didn't work
Pros: staff were lovely.
Cons: not quite as nice as the reviews suggested. a lot of cut corners and worn furniture. as an example, even the waffle batter was diluted, making it tough to make an actual decent waffle.
Cons: We must pay a bed tax $10 (not a pet tax), very unusualy! This ugly tax were not advised at the reservation. Also we have to pay for the room and seperately for the bed!?!
With a stay at The Shaw House Inn in Ferndale, you'll be a 3-minute walk from Ferndale Museum and 7 minutes by foot from Ferndale Historic Cemetery. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, a library, and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Bath tub and shower was too small
Pros: Charming impeccably cares for property. Lovely gardens, quiet location. Stayed there 12 years ago and would return again.
Pros: Breakfastt was amazing! Homemade quiche and coffeecake, all kinds of fruit, all kinds of drinks and cereals.
Pros: clean and nicely appointed common rooms, walking distance to the town centre, nice estate with garden.
Cons: it was listed here as "pet-friendly" so I booked it away without worry (there is no option to add a pet during booking.com process)...upon check-in, I was given a room upstairs and hauled up some of our luggage in there. Once the lady saw a dog, she told me that pets are not allowed in the house and we're lucky she had pet friendly room left (occupancy ended up less than 50% on that night); but it'd be with outside only access, on the other side of the main house, cost more and there'll be a pet fee. We agreed, not wanting the trouble of finding something else as it was getting late in small town... But question remain why the owner lists her property as pet friendly on booking.com when most of it is really not. The room was larger and with bathroom/toilet attached, but the weather was inclement (heavy rain), so walking back an forth around the house to access living and sitting rooms and own staff in our room was not an experience I expect from B&B style of accommodation. good night sleep? nope, by 2pm the next day both of us were falling asleep; room heating/ventilation is not good, windows are hard to fix open at night, the heater burns oxygen, so I had to part-open outside door overnight to breath at night. On top of that my wife was bitten all around her body while she slept, badly itching for 2 days after that. Breakfast was nicely served, but except very tasty pudding, the rest was as much as typical "continental breakfast".
Pros: Connivence, history and morning breakfast.
Cons: Bed was a bit tired.
Pros: Everything was wonderful. Just different than what we usually stay in... the room we got was a small but had a private balcony and the bathroom was down the hall past other guest rooms
Cons: Forewarned that private bath meant down the hall not in the room
Pros: Beautifully kept. Easy walk downtown.
Pros: Nice Victorian style room & the breakfast was very good.
Cons: The bathtub was in the room & there was no shower.
Pros: Breakfast was outstanding. The hostess was friendly and knowledgeable. The history of this old house and the amazing grounds make it one of a kind.
Cons: The bathroom was bit too small for me.
Pros: Breakfast was amazing!!! Cute home and town!
Located in Loleta, Bear River Casino Resort is in a rural location, within a 5-minute drive of Bear River Casino and Fernbridge Historic Bridge. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, limo/town car service, and a 24-hour front desk. Planning an event in Loleta? This hotel has 3500 square feet (315 square meters) of space consisting of a conference center and a meeting room. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free valet parking is available onsite.
Pros: Rooms and access to highway
Cons: Parking & aromas from restaurants and casino
Pros: Very nice rooms, comfortable stay
Cons: No breakfast
Pros: The room was beautiful and comfortable. There was a separate vanity area with a mirror, lighting and a chair to do your hair and makeup which is awesome. The staff is friendly and helpful. This resort is new so everything is up-to-date and modern. The casino is right off the lobby and even has a smoke-free area.
Cons: The one thing I wish was better is the soundproofing. I could hear the people in the room across from me, on either side of the room and anyone walking down the hallway.
Located in Fortuna, Travel Inn is minutes from Fortuna City Hall and close to Fortuna Dog Park. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: The towels were VERY OLD & stained. Our air conditioning was a fan that was mounted on the wall. There was a plastic lawn chair in the room
Pros: Thay had all the adequate ammenities we could ask for. I'm originally from this area and preffered this location as a central location to our destinations.
Cons: For the price I would think some kind of continental breakfast would have been nice but it all worked out
Pros: The room was clean enough with all necessary stuff
Cons: The motel is not new and needs some updates - some smells, old carpet and so on
Pros: The staff went out of their way for me, I was there for 10 days and they didn't bother me or ask anything of me. I was able to pay all at once instead of daily. When I needed the room cleaned or picked up it was. The fridge and mic worked and kept me fed. Price was great and unlike other places in town didn't raise their rates for the weekends.
Cons: Nothing, I was very happy.
Pros: Clean, comfortable, very quiet. I would definitely stay here again.
Cons: All is good.
Pros: Clean. Friendly. Comfortable.
Pros: This was a clean and comfortable basic motel. It was quiet, easy to find and had convenient parking.
Pros: Spacious and easy to find
Cons: Tractors parked on car spaces
Pros: Location and price. Great deal compared to larger chain places at more than 50% cheaper especially when there wasnt a significant local event to demand higher price. Quiet at night too.
Pros: Centrally located in Fortuna. Clean reasonable price
Cons: Could use some upgrades. Paint. Curtains bedding but still clean
Pros: Closeness to Car Show activities.
Cons: Very small bathtub.
With a stay at Fortuna Redwood Inn in Fortuna, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Fortuna City Hall and Fortuna Depot Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Beds were comfortable.
Cons: Was not very clean. Found a dirty sock and food in the floor so obviously not vacuuming. Beds were clean but walls were dirty.
Pros: The service was absolutely amazing!
Cons: But the room was dirty. The blanket had cigarette burns in it and what looked like blood stains, the tv remote had a slick film of something all over the buttons, and we found a used razor in the bathroom. There was also a tissue shoved into the peephole which was just odd...
Pros: decor was the best I've seen for the price. Carefully chosen furniture, nicely remodeled. Very quiet.
Cons: Only 2 restaurants in town: a steak house, closed, and an Americanized Chinese place.
Pros: Room was pretty big
Cons: Bed where uncomfortable
Pros: Location was convenient, the bathroom was clean, and good, bed was comfortable
Cons: The A/C unit was very dirty, Microwave was not provided, we asked for one and the front desk lady provided it immediately, but it was old, rickety and difficult to use. There was no iron or hairdryer in the room either.
Pros: The bathroom sink was cool .
Cons: There was no way to turn on the shower . And creepy people all over . Said no dogs but there were dogs barking in every room . The room was hot the air conditioning did not work very well I had it on high all night .
Pros: Nice big refrigerator Bed comfortable Basically a room with no amenities
Cons: Shower difficult to figure out No Kleenex No hair dryer Wi-Fi doesn’t work in room No ice machine on property
Pros: Easy to get to, close proximity of where I needed.
Cons: This place was awful!! It’s full of druggies and I killed 2 cockroaches!!!! They never made the beds and you could hear kids running up and down their room from 4 rooms down. The shower only has pressure with the cold water. The entire place felt very dirty.
Pros: I liked the town’s proximity to the Redwoods.
Cons: No one was there to check us in. A man came out in his pajama bottoms. He was very, very nice and tried to call someone to come but we had to wait for 20 minutes. We finally got checked in. The mirrors and shower were not clean. The sink was not clean. There was garbage between the two beds. It was not good.
Pros: Everything! Staff was awesome and the beds were perfect. And they were flexable
Cons: That it in between to gas stations. Makes it hard to choose which station
