Employee should provide parking ticket ready
The staff was friendly and my room was clean. I did not have any problems and was only in town for one night so this was perfect for my needs and the price was right.
The night I stayed, it was very quiet Morning coffee and tea did not have tea bags or real sugar
I didn't have high expectations for this hotel, just needed a place to crash next to the airport for an early morning flight the next day. For a basic hotel, this was surprisingly nice. Rooms were clean, staff was responsive, liked the modern functional decor, was just right. Appreciated that they had security in the lobby checking people's room numbers before allowing just anybody up to the rooms. Was a slight smell of smoke in the room
The morning van driver kept texting and not paying attention to the customers
Shuttle service yo the airport Great bed
Needed a place to stay for a few days while waiting for the next flight out of LAX. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room availability was convenient and flexible. A perfect fit. Minor maintenance to ice machines.
The shuttle took forever to get us from the airport and the rooms were dingy, with holes in the blankets and thin pillows. The rooms are decorated to look all modern but instead they look cheap.
Great clean rooms, friendly staff and comfortable bed. Loved the free shuttle service to our terminal as well
Room was very clean. Housekeeping service is great. Ice machines broken on a few floors.
The lady at the front desk was really good Sometimes the common areas were dirty
newly renovated rooms; cleanliness small bathroom, poor WIFI Connectivity
Room was clean tastefully decorated, nothing fancy but all the basics, and well maintained, people friendly, what local motels used to be, will, stay again Coffee pot would be nice but does add significant cost in daily operation, Starbucks across the street, opens early, towels could be upgraded, but what is there is fresh, clean and acceptable,
The price was pretty great for how close it was to the beach. It was in a very nice part of California. The room was very clean and up to date. It was about 5 to 10 minutes away from the beach and very close to a lot of shops and stores. The staff was great also, the main guy when you check in offered to move our car Tuesday morning because of the street cleaning, that way he didn't have to wake you up at 6 in the morning. The only thing slightly wrong was the bed was uncomfortable, but definitely not bad enough for me to not come back.
The price is an amazing bargain! To get the same quality in the area, you can expect twice and three times the rate. Charming management, excellent maintenance, and location on Artesia with great places to eat for all budgets. Directly across from a Starbuck's! LAX-bound buses stop down the street. Very easy to get signed in and leave quickly.. a boon to the busy traveler.
Clean, newly remodeled, great price, close to the beach Tight parking
Proximity to airport, beach areas, quiet hotel, not a high end but clean, comfortable, friendly staff, excellent value Parking is in short supply, but very manageable. Area feels safe to park on the street.
We had the big unit, which had a living rm, bedrm with 2 beds, and kitchen. Very affordable, CLEAN, friendly staff and across the street from starbucks. The beds were a little hard, but that is personal preference.
Good location close to everything Beds were horrible so hard and the blankets were more like curtains. Loud construction and noisey neighbors
We had flown from NY to drive down to San Diego and stayed for a night in LA. Our room was cleaned, renovated look and comfortable. The staff was excellent and free breakfast. Very affordable.
The location was close enough to the beaches. There were crackheads sprinkled around the area there was a spider in my room it smelled like rancid smoke even though I asked for a smoking room I was kind of disgusted by the stench. Also they charge $.75 for ice cubes actually just a bucket a small square bucket from your room which kind of blows my mind!!
It is close to the airport. The room was old and dirty. Breakfast was poor.
Nothing The name is a ripoff! On the web page it was mistaken for Holiday Inn Express. This is NO Holiday Inn Express. There should be a disclaimer. The TV was a 22” standard. There were ants. The a/c was hard to regulate. Dirty carpet.
room size and quality Noise, transport to the airport
Room was clean, nice flooring and window covering. Check in evening on 2/9. Clerk not very friendly, did not smile.
met my needs for close to airport, inexpensive and clean
No. The bed and pillows were full of ants. The desk clerk just ignore my complaint. There was no food that was edible on my diet.
the speed to internet is very slow
Flight was canceled, could not cancel, they kept my money
Booked a room thur Booking.com at $79.00 a night. When I got to the Motel there is a large sign that states $59.00 a night. Then The front counter person charged me $10.00 for the shuttle service that is stated to be free on your website. Priced Higher then the Stated Sign Price. Charged for a free shuttle service
Nice finishes Comfortable bed Good TV Ants in bathroom - even after killing what we saw at night, more still came back in morning
eventhough it is in the crime region , hotel is gated...and ok for singles and men
First, I was surprised, that this is not a hotel, but a motel. Anyway, I was very surprised about the cleanliness of the room.. It was in very good condition (I had a room 313) It was perfect as a temporary accommodation, like I needed, when I arrived lax Airport in the night, but I do not recommend it as longer- term accommodation while it's abusing when you hear airplane landing in the middle of the night to the lax airport.
Proximity to the airport Very rundown area. Desk staff brusque and unhelpful. Cleaning staff co-operative. Inclusive breakfast was an insult to the name of breakfast, Disgusting. Shuttle service was not provided by the hotel as advertised and the result was expensive. I cancelled a booking for a return visit and this was not cancelled and I was charged as a no show.
The bed was comfortable, check in was easy and it was accessible to shops. The toilet was a bit clogged.
The location was very convenient. The hotel needs some updating especially the carpet and the bathrooms.
Clean Quiet Easy check in and out No ice machine on each floor. It was hidden in a weird looking garage next to the lobby. Uncomfortable towels Limited breakfast items, should be more than just cheap bread, frozen waffles and 2 kinds of cereals The hallway smells bad There are exactly one table and 2 chairs in the office for breakfast. I didnt have anywhere to sit down. Creepy looking staff in the morning.
Free breakfast, nice staff. The surrounding rooms were loud. There was no pool or gym. Cleaning wasn't done everyday.
The convenience to the beach. The hot tub did not work properly. The day evening staff was to friendly. The breakfast could had been a little better.
Nothing The carpet was filthy, felt wet, and had huge burns in it. The room smelled terrible. No amenities, the tv was ancient, and there was no privacy. The curtains were transparent so people could see on the room. Do not stay there.
Close to beach Smelled a little funny, maybe to much cleaner
When we arrived at our room, the door was open the room was being cleaned. They gave us another room, and it was very noisy we were put right next to the laundry room. Early in the morning, we were able to hear the water pipes. :(
They gave us a free upgrade to Jacuzzi room!
Close to LAX and the beach When I first arrived they asked if I wanted a smoking or non smoking room. I tilt them that I wanted a non smoking one. The room I got had an ash tray outside and reeked like cigarette smoke. Also the last day I was there someone broke into my car and stole a bunch of items. I asked if they could review the security footage and they said that they wouldn't be able to do so till Monday! Oh well I guess you get what you pay for when traveling. Do yourself a favor and pay a little extra and go somewhere nicer
Nothing They told us the day we got there that they lost our reservation. I don't know whether to blame kayak or the wave but what a horrible experience.
It was reasonably priced and the outside looked decent parking was free there was some decent options for the complimentary breakfast the front desk worker was nice There was hair all over the bathroom floor, no mini fridge, the giant jacuzzi in the room looked like it should have stayed in the 70s where it probably came from. We thought of trying it out but the plug wasn't doing its job and it was probably a life saver the Jets looked moldy and gross. The tv wasn't working. I need to use the comp in the lobby for a quick question aire for something and that had a window open that wouldn't close or allow me to use the internet how frustrating!
I like it just it was near to Beach and Near to Airport. The over all look is not good. When I was booking I saw the online picture which seems nice but when I got there it was like an old guest house. People are not nice and I think it is run by a family who also lives there. The breakfast is just a Junk. The room was dirty and the furniture was old. The bathroom was terrible. I would not recommend any one to take a chance to book in this hotel. You will be disappointed
Price was okay. I paid for my stay in advance and when I arrived at the hotel, I was told they were sold out. They scrambled to find me a room and then when I got in the room, the bathroom was not clean with old towels on the floor and someone's flip flip flops. There were no shades in my room, broken desk, broken bathroom door, no mini fridge as promised and worst of all mold/mildew in the shower. Also, they ran out of towels, shampoo and conditioner. I switched rooms the next day because of all of these issues but they pretty much remained the same so I checked out 6 days early. Also, there was one super rude guy at the front desk with the worst attitude. I will never go back here. Terrible experience.
The price on this is the only positive I can think of. You really get what you pay for. And there's a police station nearby. So, first off, there's 27 rooms, and 27 parking spaces, two of which are handicapped. When I came back to the hotel after a night on Santa Monica pier, there was literally only one handicap space left empty, and I can't park on the street because that's illegal during the night. When I tried to get help from the staff about this (they are a 24hr office), no one was there. I didn't get it resolved until I had already parked in the handicap space and was in my room about to sleep. Other than that, the bed was hard as a rock, and the internet barely worked with text-based websites, let alone video streaming like Hulu or Netflix. The neighborhood is pretty scary, especially at night. Your only solace that your stuff won't be stolen is there's a police station a short walk away. All in all, if you're in a pinch and can't afford anything else, go for it. Otherwise, stay away.
Friendly staff, really large rooms, comfortable bed and pillows, clean rooms and linens, A/C in great working condition, blackout curtains. Super cozy. I slept like a baby. Also, really great location with tons of restaurants, pharmacies, gas stations near by. A few minutes' drive from LAX, car rental places, beaches. Wi-Fi was a little slow at times but overall not bad. The toilet paper was waaaay too thin and it would get stuck and rip when you try to unroll it. Just bring your own toilet paper or use the Kleenex.
Quiet Comfortable beds Newish interiors Lots of free toiletries. Great safe location close to LAX. The bathroom could have been cleaned better. I found some hairs in the tub.
Price, cleanliness, very close to family we were visiting, and there was absolutely NO noise from other rooms! We were on the third floor, and I have a bad knee (no elevator). But it really wasn't that big of a deal.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
It was a place to sleep. Although the manager, was very accommodating. Low budget below my taste. It wasan emergency situation.
The room was much better than I was expecting for the price. High quality TV, good bed, fixtures great. (Well, the towel rack had seen better days, but that's my only complaint.) Staff on duty were very friendly The neighborhood is quite impoverished. Don't judge this hotel by the exterior or the neighborhood. The room I was in was much better than rooms I've had in hotels in better neighborhoods.
This hotel is a simple one. It's very clean and in a convenient location. Perfect place if you just need somewhere for sleeping and keeping your things. We needed to extend our stay one more day that we didn't setup with our reservation, and that easily done. The room had a small refrigerator, microwave, TV, and A/C. Mattress could have been more comfortable. It is an economy hotel, so don't expect a fancy bed. Everything else was good for us.
There was not a single thing I liked about this hotel it was dirty and disgusting. There were bugs everywhere. And the sheets had stains on them.
The staff was very friendly and the hotel was located in walking distance to the Redondo pier. Great stay for the price.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good value for money, close to beach. Website said microwave and refridgerator in every room but this was not the case. We had no fridge or microwave.
Clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was small, but consistent with pricing.
Great location for beach and airport.
The Hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was great as well. Had to ask for new towels and an iron. But was not a big deal at all.
Rooms were clean 1) Beds were very hard. 2) Night office staff was borderline unfriendly 3) Parking was hard to come by
Excellent staff; courteous, responsive, helpful, professional. The water was hot, the AC cancelled any noise(I slept well all 4 nights). 3 of the four rooms we rented were recently refurbished, but my room was a bit shabby, though okay for the $. I had lawn chairs for sitting, no desk, some stained carpet.
Location Very dirty and old, , not possible to use internet, due to very slow speed
The space, and confort. With only a couple of blocks walk to the beach, the location is great. Corner store for last minute needs. Restaurant is a few steps away. take that morning walk to feel the ocean breeze. One of the best economical places i have stayed in. Will be back soon. Liked everything, only thing that kinda bother us was the actual people on the room next to our. So cant hold the hotel responsible for this. Guy found girl cheating or something, hell broke lose at about 3am. Could hear all the fighting and screams, wanted to go and punch someone so i could get back to sleep.
Welcome and hospitality. Ocean was amazing and there was nothing he would not do for us to make our stay happy. inadequate parking for the hotel guests.
We enjoyed the location near Cabrillo Beach and Point Fermin Park. We could also walk to the Korean Bell Tower. In the next block are two diners serving breakfast and lunch to many locals. The Pacific Diner and The Lighthouse Cafe, which serves home cooking for dinners as well. The motel is on the main bus route. We missed having a coffee maker in our room but quickly adjusted by picking up early coffee at the diner. There was a microwave and a refrigerator in our room and if we had requested a coffeemaker, the hospitable staff would probably have supplied one.
Guy at front was helpful getting us clean sheets and pillowcases after we complained. Dirty sheets, dirty room, smelly, gross.
The staff was friendly and as accommodating as possible and there weren't bed bugs. Although the immediate neighbors seemed quainte, the city felt a little shady. That obviously can't be helped, but I would have liked to have known that coming in. The parking was extremely tight and precarious. The outside of the rooms looked cozy, like a little nook of college dorms, but once inside all the warm, cozy feelings went away. Our room smelled like mildewy, moldy fruit. The fridge gave out an awful smell when it was opened. There was a used q-tip under the bed skirt. I never took my shoes off because the carpet looked so questionable. I was so grossed out I wouldn't let my baby crawl anywhere except on the bed. The towels in the bathroom were not completely clean and some were damp. There is no AC and the windows were open and unable to be closed. Because of that, my husband had a hard time going to sleep because of the neighbors and noise keeping him awake as well as being concerned for our safety. I have never given a review online before this, but felt this deserved one since most of the others are so positive. I feel bad saying unfavorable things because I don't want to harm a non-chain, privately owned business, especially when the manager on duty was so nice. However, this place was definitely not worth the money and I would never stay there again.
