Pros: This was my first proper visit to Northern Ireland having only had a 1 day visit with work before. This truly is a fabulous place. Everyone made me feel really welcome non more so than Eilish the owner of the property who is absolutely lovely. She couldn't do enough for us and made our stay a really great one. The house itself is beautiful, very well decorated, sits on a very large, very private lot on a hill overlooking the city, and is very spacious. We could not be more pleased.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location with beautiful scenery .Karen the hostess was more than helpful .Everything spotless and good value for money .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Totally faultless; we wanted a break from work and living in Belfast and had never seen Derry or Donegal before. Location is superb; deceptively close to main road links to Donegal and Derry for getting to/from the cottage. The isolated yet close location honestly is just great; we were able to relax in the evenings on the patio area, having a drink and even had the company of two great donkeys! the cottage was like a home from home, and I say isolated positively as it is not in the wilderness but offers the serenity of being in the wilderness! Accommodation was nice a cozy; very clean and modern also the seating and sleeping arrangements were very comfortable. Cottage was also very easy to get hot or chilled. Views are very nice, especially in the evenings. I could not recommend this place enough - I am sure many people say this but we will genuinely be back! if you're looking for a better alternative to an air bnb, to travel to an exceptionally beautiful spot in the world, at an extremely good price and have a real nice sense of home, honestly you won't be disappointed! Also can not fault the owner at all; Karen is a lovely person and so accommodating; she ensured to show us how everything worked, provided us with good information about the area, events and places to see! although we didn't require anything whilst we were there, there was the kind offer too of asking if we needed taxis she would happily book them (to make sure we got there and back!)

Pros: Rose Park House is a personally and professionally run B & B. We were welcomed by Thomas from the first moment we arrived and enjoyed every minute of our stay at Derry. He and the other members of the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was great- as much or as little as we desired, and the time was flexible. The location was perfect for us- we walked through the scenic park down the hill to the city centre and either walked back or took a taxi for a very reasonable fare in the evening. I would certainly stay at Rose Park when visiting Derry in the future.
Cons: Nothing- really!

Cons: Light and fan in bathroom wasn’t working - could have been user error but plenty of light in the bathroom and a small light on the mirror so this was not an issue at all. Great room overall.

I know it says no refund, but for 499 euro for 4 nights and skipping the first night, it would have been nice if at least we were offered a wee Irish souvenir or a drink! Number 8 The Townhouse - Londonderry - Bedroom
11
9.2 Excellent (575 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Number 8 The Townhouse in Londonderry, you'll be just steps from Derry City Walls and 5 minutes by foot from Tower Museum.
7.0 Good
Pros: A very good location just inside the city wall and we were lucky to find free parking not far from the hotel. We did our own check-in after good correspondence from Kieran on how to do this. As there was no lift, we hauled our very heavy bag up the very narrow and very steep stairs to a quite small, but nicely decorated room. The bed was narrow, maybe 140 cm max, but after 30 years of marriage we have been through most sizes and the marriage has survived anyway. At breakfast in the basement the next day, we met Kieran and he was ever so nice. The breakfast, though, was a disappointment. We got a small youghurt, coffee and a glass of juice at the table and then we had a choice of cereals and bread to toast with some marmalade as spread. Oh yes, and there were some bananas on the desk as well. It was poor, period.
Cons: Kieran was very nice when we eventually met him and the location is perfect. Our room was renovated but nothing out of the ordinary. Apart from this, I cannot really tell why people give this place 10 out of 10. Sorry.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Overall I really enjoyed my stay. The front door key being left in a lockbox meant that I had a relatively relaxed check in time. The rooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean and the beds made up neatly, as well as that they were comfortable. There was toiletries, plenty of towels, and a hairdryer in the room I was in. There was tea and coffee and glasses for water. The continental breakfast was lovely. Kieran (the host) was friendly and full of hints and tips for places to go during my visit, and provided me with maps and leaflets to help me plan my trip.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location . Friendly staff would recommend

Pros: Simplicity and excellent and easy access and freedom to get in and out
Cons: The room and bed were fine and location was on the main drag which was handy. The room was clean and comfy.

Pros: It’s like a small very classy hotel.
Cons: Nothing. Great place.

Pros: Excellent location within Derry walls. Kieran was a genuinely kind and warm host.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: It is very expensive for room, drinks and food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable. Couldn't hear noise from other rooms. Staff were helpful. Hotel was clean and well decorated and set in a good location. Would stay again.
Cons: The room was warm (mid July) although a fan was provided. Air con might have been better.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is quite nice and is located close to the city center although the 30 minutes walks might be too long for some people. If you have a car the hotel provides a car park and you can use the train station to get closer to the city. The bedrooms are quite big and nice and the overall hotel status is really good. There is a nice bar lounge in the hotel with piano performances in the evening.
Cons: The breakfast is quite good but we were surprised that they were not replacing the food that was getting finished in a reasonable time. After almost 45 minutes I need to ask to the staff some pastries as they was no one available when we went to the restaurant.
6.8 Good
Pros: Very quiet area
Cons: No Gym or swimming pool Not impressed with breakfast. Very Limited Bar food was quite expensive
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything else
Cons: A bit fare away from the city center but it only took us 25 minutes to walk The pillows was a bit hard
7.0 Good
Cons: Noise from wedding booked for Thursday night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: As I got married there a few years earlier the hotel sent a lovely chocolate cake to my room too say welcome back after 3 years, it was a really lovely gesture and my wife was over the moon. Honestly I wouldnt stay anywhere else in Derry
7.5 Good
Pros: Evening meal in restaurant was excellent. Wait staff were friendly but service was exceedingly slow. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Traffic noise was loud even with windows closed. It was extremely loud with windows open. I kept the windows closed which made it very hot as it is late July and there is no air conditioning in rooms. There was a fan, which helped, but the fan rattled loudly. The trash bin in the bathroom wouldn’t open with the foot pedal so I had to pry it open- YUK! The hotel should give their guests courtesy ear plugs.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, had a restaurant onsite, staff were great.
Cons: Couldn’t open window and the room didn’t have air conditioning. They did provide a small fan but the room was very stuffy and we aren’t used to sleeping in such hot conditions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was exceptionally comfortable. I ate in the bar and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely bed and pillows
Cons: slightly noisy by busy road

Pros: Comfortable room. No air-con but the weather during our stay is cool and hotel do provide a fan. Excellent Breakfast. Lovely bar. Staffs are friendly and provides excellent information. Love to stay here again!
5.8 Okay
Cons: The hotel puts only the room with the „accessible“ bathroom on booking.com, which is NOT a room, I would have chosen. The sink is the size of a stamp and the overall impression of the bathroom: extremely off-putting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this little hotel is perfect. We stayed in a much more expensive place in Belfast the night before and it couldn't hold a candle to the Bishops Gate. I don't know where they get the staff but I've never met such nice people
Cons: The only negative I could possible find is that the view from our window was onto the back of the property but we were out in Derry the whole time so wasn't an issue

Cons: Girl at reception was aloof. Parking was kinda difficult.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff and great location. The staff in the restaurant/breakfast were outstanding.
Cons: The room was a little tired but perfectly adequate. The fan in the bathroom and the light over the sink didn't work.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, comfy beds, great barstaff. Fab view from health suite on 4th floor.
Cons: Reception staff quite dismissive considering we had to wait over an hour for our room to be ready due to housekeeping being understaffed. Their attitude was haughty with other guests waiting too, and they had us go to them continuously for updates on room status rather than take the few steps to where we were in the foyer to keep us informed. All other staff were lovely and friendly. No tea or drinks offered while we waited either.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Nellie in the restaurant was so nice and helpful - nothing was an issue

6.0 Good
Pros: Value for money
Cons: Breakfast was quite a shambles. Huge queues and a table in the middle of the restaurant (a very large tbale that everyone could see) covered in all of the dirty plates/cups etc. this should have been removed to the kitchen and not left on site.

Pros: Outstanding location, excellent facilities, room was above expectations including complimentary refrigerated soft drinks and snacks alongside the tea/coffee. Breakfast variety very good. Staff helpful as I arrived early but was able to park securely until check-in.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel is great! Everything is within walking distance. The room's view was amazing - directly facing the river and the peace bridge!
Cons: The bathrooms were a bit outdated. There wasn't enough lighting in the rooms itself and we had to request for an additional lamp that didn't really do too much. The room itself was pretty small - not much space to actually open up your suitcase.
5.8 Okay
Cons: No car parking we had to wait for an hour to get parked in a car park opposite the hotel. I think when you pay for a room you should be entitled too a car space !
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Junior suite was fab. Location is superb and staff are more than helpful.
Cons: Check in from 3pm is a bit late. It is also worthwhile noting that I didn't arrive until 3.10 and my room was not ready. Not a huge deal as I was happy to wait but could be an issue for others. Car park is also too small for size of hotel and there is no.deals in place with local car parks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was very good and reasonable priced
Cons: Everything was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very handy location
Cons: Found my room card a bit tricky
