the service and helpfulness of the staff
stayed at this hotel for just one night, my first impression was the friendly atmosphere , the hotel room was warm and inviting, will definitely go back again and stay much longer.enjoyed this hotel very much. I could not say i did not like anything about this hotel as it was first class and good value for money.
I loved the two 10oz Steaks and a bottle a wine for £25!!! Brilliant! Even though i know the room was clean there was a small stench of cleaning product in our room.... but it wasn't too bad, but you asked!
Hotel was clean, in a good location and comfortable. Parking was impossible to find.
The hotel was great we were very comfortable, the staff were very nice and friendly. I think they had just got a new manager so enthusiasm was in the air. We even got a toy for our child upon arrival. A happy customer!! Everything was great..
live music in bar
rooma was beautiful, staff were lovely and food was great!! the only downside was that our room was a bit cold!
Good location. Great breakfast. Room was clean & comfortable. Girl at reception was aloof. Parking was kinda difficult.
Value for money Breakfast was quite a shambles. Huge queues and a table in the middle of the restaurant (a very large tbale that everyone could see) covered in all of the dirty plates/cups etc. this should have been removed to the kitchen and not left on site.
very convenient to other attractions and staff were very helpful breakfast disorganised and hot food bar didn't have enough food for all guests
the room was big and bright with a great view of the river. The receptionist was rude and dismissive upon arrival which created an unpleasant start to the stay.
The attentivness and helpfulness of the staff . From the receptionist to the waiter all of them went that extra mile asking if they could be of additional help rather than just "serving us" plumbing sound from adjacent bathroom
The staff was excellent! The view from our room was wonderful! We extended our stay and the front desk was very accommodating. Excellent value for the price we paid.
Position of hotel, good staff
Fantastic evening entertainment and a great base Not really a 4 star more like 3 star Breakfast was a mass free for all buffet hated it
Location to the Old City
Good central location. Bed extremely comfortable.
helpful friendly staff entertainment on sat night very bad -girl could not sing -
No air conditioner
Was raining, car park in basement, lift to the room. Dinner at night was great value, but was for all three coarses, were one would have been enough, very good value
Good central location - lovely view from my room Not dislike - but thought it strange that there was no valance on the bed- you could see the base of the bed - took away from the look of the room
It was all right For a superior room I was disappointed
Bed linen soft....adn bed comfortable Carpet badly stained.
Courteous staff, clean and comfortable room. I liked the little extras like sweets in the room. Nice atmosphere.
The staff's attitude and the the hotel was generally pleasant Tthe only issue I would have with the hotel was the quality and price on the hotel restaurant. The food and wine for the prices was not of a good standard and the serivce for the restaurant not been busy was very slow. The second night we choose to eat away form the hotel.
calm easy going hotel
I was on my own!!! Yes I requested a non smoking room and was put in a smoking room. Would have liked leisure facilities
very friendly and accomodating staff, complimentary coffee while room was prepared, relaxing lounge areas with open fire, pleasant walk in to Derry city family rooms rather on the tight side
Well set out room Nothing
the bed was very comfortable and clean with friendly staff to help. £13 for a breakfast is far to steep not to mention £10 for a continental brekkie!!
staff lovely, polite, excellent service, lovely tranquil atmosphere overall enjoyed our stay no fresh drinking water in the room
Brilliant staff, wonderful atmosphere, fantastic food, very comfortable room. None at all.
Location near to places of interest.
Comfort and good food none
We had arrived after an early morning flight and my daughter and her friend were exhausted, we arrived at 9.30 am and the hotel managed to give us a room at that time so that they could have a sleep as they were dancing in a competition later that day in the hotel, I thought this was a fantastic service. None
pleasant room and reception staff Decor- very strange, heavy and dated.Bar staff very unhelpful. Arrived at 9.30 and was told that it was too late to even get a sandwich- had to dine on crisps and peanuts fron £1 machine
Our room was really lovely and much bigger than we had anticipated so great value for money.
The staff were very friendly, when I arrived while waiting for my room I was offered a coffee which was brought to me in reception. The manageress of the restaurant was very helpful and the Sunday roast beef lunch was excellent, and indeed was very reasonably priced. I found all the staff extremely friendly and courtious. The location of the hotel was very quiet, and only a mile or so from the Derry airport, with local buses and taxis all available into Derry City. Excellent breakfast.
Food, people, Rubbish tv reception, 10 mins for shower to get warm, room smelt damp
The reception was very welcoming with a roaring fire and very pleasant and obliging staff. The bathroom, while very clean was pretty basic. The bath was very small and the shower was only adequate. The bath gel was in a bottle fixed to the wall which made it almost impossible to squirt it into the bath. Also I didn't like that the 'double' bed was two single beds pushed together. The ridge down the middle doesn't make for comfortable sleeping.
Staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was excellent. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Excellent location for quiet get away and not too far from lots of places of interest. Room was double booked. Toilet did not flush correctly and a light was broken in the room.
Breakfast and having the interent in my room I thought the hotel and grounds needed a complete upgrade. There was a lot of rubbish on the grounds.
The size of the rooms the dining room was to over the top as far as the meals - food was really nice although waiting in the bar area just made you buy a drink when you would not have normally bought one
Ambience - "Old World" charm. Restaurant menus excellent. I like the fact that my breakfast was "served" and cooked on request as opposed to "buffet style"
The atmosphere Not really
Beautiful place with excellent friendly staff. The food and service was wonderful. The facility is rich with history and impressive clientele
The decoration, the oldy worldyness, the UPGRADEto a suite was fantastic. Food very special
The hotel upgraded us to a master suite at no extra cost. We had dinner at the hotel on Saturday evening which was lovely. After the standard of the evening meal we were slightly disappointed in the breakfast. This was on a self service basis and the range on offer was extensive but not as high a standard as the evening meals
The quiet surroundings, beautiful landscaping and the great breakfast.
the rooms were amazin
Nice location and easy drive to londonderry and surrounding places None
Spacious room and well appointed. Excellent food. Noisey fire door on landing near my room 102 guests allowed the door to bang constantly up until 2.30pm also bathroom door almost impossible to openm
i enjoyed the breakfast in bed,the breakfast was out of this world. that we had to go outside and walk up to the other ball room.
I didn't like the stairs. One of our party was an 87yr old lady and I suffer from knee problems. We were not advised when booking that there was no lifts and also we were not asked if it would be a problem with stairs. Our room was also very cold.
The food was excellent and Staff very effectient No complaints
As it was an overnight stay hardly qualifies us to give any detailed assessment other than to say that we were happy with what we saw. My moto is that if you go looking for bad points you will find them but as we saw things we were pretty well content.
There was no problem changing our room away from the room next door which was still be renovated. The bathroom was old, tiles bulging from the wall. Tired! A gutter down pipe appeared to be running down the inside of the wall in boxing and rainwater was running through it all night!!!
Friendly staff and the room was clean. This hotel falsely advertises free WiFi. At the rear of my room was some sort of pump/generator room which kept me awake for periods during the night. The food served was of poor quality.
Very good hotel. Good locatiion.
restaurant , staff
Large clean room, well presented dinning area. There is no control by staff of noisy residents, irrespective of the fact that functions take place within the hotel, by virtue of the name a hotel is a place to rest. Not everyone wants to part the night away.
I had a lovely meal in the restaurant and a couple of relaxing drinks in the snug bar which i thought was very homely and the staff were excellent, friendly and always willing to help.
Staff+ambiance Bathroom finish
When we booked in on thhe first night we were charged £60 for the room when the other nights were only £40 because they said the hotel was very busy but the room was obviously available so I couldnt see why we were charged extra
On our arrival we were greeted by a very welcoming young lady. She was courteous and friendly and carried out her duties in an efficient & professional manner. Any personnel we came into contact with - at reception & in the dining room - we found each one most helpful. The general feeling was of a hotel well maintained & our room was beautifully cleaned throughout. We would certainly return to stay at the Waterfoot Hotel. Thank you
Friendly helpful staff. Good dinner & breakfast. Comfortable room & a good shower. T.V. was a bit small
Nothing, very disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel and in particular my room. I have made a written complaint to Travelodge. See above
easy access to city centre felt the rooms were a bit worse for wear since last i stayed and even after complaining we still had no hot shower after four days
location, entrance from parking structure; good bed and bathroom we stayed in the Tory Suite; which is also room 107, but it does not say so on the first door to the room, we felt idiotic looking for room 107; staff was unhelpful in this respect; also the lack of direct light from the window made the room claustrophobic; electric lights in the room were not very handy, made reading in bed impossible
Centre of Derry so very handy The hotel was not clean
My booking at Travelodge Derry represented great value for money and the location was also ideal as it was within walking distance of all the places I was visiting during my stay.
Nothing, It was horrid. Filthy, Smelly Dirty, Uneven bed, smelly, noisy, distorted TV... you name it it was just disgusting. Never book this place!
location to shopping
size of room We did not sleep a wink. It is situated across from a night club. It was a wednesday night however wasn't quiet til at least 5 in morning. I would never stay again.
Central position I don't mind basic, but this Travelodge was grubby, very shabby and very noisy til 3am. The cost of overnight parking seemed excessive too. This used to be a pleasant place to stay, but all the quality fittings were either broken or missing. Quite a disappointment.
Nothing was too much trouble for the owner or his family - I stayed with my 2 children and we all had a pleasant, relaxed time. Breakfast was first class and there were loads of choices. Ideal location for Derry Airport.
Friendly staff cleaneness location No tea in room
Is very confortable, clean. Just 10 min walk from the city center and Staff is very kind
Cleanliness of hotel; friendly, helpful staff; excellent breakfast; well- appointed comfortable room; hospitality None
comfort great staff good food easy 2 get around the town better than 3 star hotels we have stayed in spotless will b back not enough time
The Host was First Rate ! Nothing was too much and the welcome was very humbling. Very clean and comfortable !
Excellent value & breakfast was superb. The owner was extremely helpful,we arrived late & wasn't a problem at all. None
This is the best B & B in Ireland with friendly owners and the lovliest dog you'll ever meet.
Rose Park House is a personally and professionally run B & B. We were welcomed by Thomas from the first moment we arrived and enjoyed every minute of our stay at Derry. He and the other members of the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was great- as much or as little as we desired, and the time was flexible. The location was perfect for us- we walked through the scenic park down the hill to the city centre and either walked back or took a taxi for a very reasonable fare in the evening. I would certainly stay at Rose Park when visiting Derry in the future. Nothing- really!
Very helpful, friendly and cosy - made very welcome No tea and coffee facilities in the room (but was offered coffee on arrival)
Loved everything about this B & B. The owner was one of the best we came across during our travels, he was not only helpful but so incredibly knowledgeable when it came to Derry & its history. Our room was so great, very tastefully done, comfortable, large & impeciably clean. Bathroom was same, & well appointed. Easy walk into the city centre & any sightseeing. Breakfast was really great, extensive & tasty. I highly recommend Rose Park, we intend to visit Derry again as we didn't have enough time during this trip & we will definately being staying here. Great place
the experience of staying in the bogside!
Excellent B&B, well well located in the Bogside, friendly and very confortable.
Barry and Joan (the owners) were extremely kind and hospitable, and very helpful in answering all of our questions about the area. The B&B is right in the heart of the Bogside neighborhood, so if you are interested in the history of the troubles (ie. Bloody Sunday), this is the place to stay. The murals, Museum of Free Derry and memorials are literally a 30 second walk from the front door. The walled city is about a 2 minute walk, as are all the pubs, restaurants and shops you could possibly need. We will definitely stay here again!!!!
I was very pleased when I got to Derry city and phoned the B&B for directions, Barry came to meet me and I followed him to the B&B, also Joan was very welcoming and friendly and went out of her way to make us a late breakfast on Sunday morning.
Staff welcome friendliness good food comfort ambience A bit overpriced for b&b
Brilliant hotel and lovely friendly owners. Couldn't be more helpful. We moved to Traveldoge for our second night because we weren't orignally doing two nights and wish I could have stayed another night at the Amore.
The woman who attended us was lovely, she explained us absolutely everything we needed to know about Derry. Also, she was nice when we asked for some coffee the next day for taking out, and she came back with coffee... and pancakes! Room was very good, warm and clean. Just the stairs are a bit noisy.
It had a very friendly environment, breakfast was good.
Angel house was near to town centre. Very nice. We have a enjoyable day visiting londonderry town centre and in angel house we have access to the computer and were able to serve the net for my wife's interest in Louis vinttion shop in Dublin.
staff were extremely helpful and friendly nothing
A very nice place with great people! They gave us a lot of advice for our road trip on the north coast and were pleasant. The room was small but very coocooning so we loved it.
Really friendly and helpful landlord, excellent breakfasts, comfortable bed Room was quite small (so small in fact that I had an "Off Suite" bathroom and toilet which was as large as my room and available for my sole use.
Courtesy is 1st word I can imagine.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful, the room comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Couldn't ask for more.
I actually was reserved at Angel House but they ended up putting me in the Serendipity House across the street (same owners). The staff was very helpful (carried my bags up to the top floor) and gave me some suggestions about where to eat and what to see. The owner was very accommodating with my special dietary needs. The location is very convenient, within several minutes walk of main sites of Derry. My room was not en suite. I asked for and never received bathroom soap for handwashing. Room was small, but adequate.
Wonderful ownership of b&b, were personal and friendly. Room was very clean as well as all of the b&B. Very generous, would stay there again and recommend.
Original location seemed ok Was sent to a 3 bedroom apt over 3km away from town with no hot water. the young guy blamed his wife for giving rooms awy to another 2couples without check their id's. the hot water didnt work in the morning and we called him and he said he would come in 15 min. He never showed and never returned the many calls.. We ended up having to heat water in the kitchen in pots and having birdbaths in the bathroom. A chair broke in the kitchen while sitting on it. He did not reduce the price due to inconvenience. He only paid us for 1 going and return taxi fare into town and said that is all he could do and that we would not find another hotel and that we were getting a deal...!?! Horrible experience at the trafalgar ct #2 apt. Never again
cleanliness and room facilities, warm and welcoming staff. excellent, peaceful location, close to city. nothing, it was all brilliant
Very friendly Very hospitable Very helpful Lovely room Lovely location with beautiful view None
the room was large and clean. No specific issue to report. welcome was rather limited
Ideally placed, luxurious towels, beautiful light and airy room, well appointed bathroom, warm and friendly hosts There is nothing we did not like
We very much enjoyed our stay at Groarty House. The location has a 'country' feel yet still less than 10 minutes from the centre of Derry. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, didn't go away hungry! Would be happy to stay here again.
Quiet scenic location. Clean, modern, great value for money Room insulation to corridors not great
Very welcoming, spotlessly clean, full amenities, excellent breakfast taken at a time selectded by the guests
It was lovely, spacious, clean and very comfortable place to stay. The rooms are well equiped and thwe semi wet room bathrooom was excellent. A lovely peaceful location aids a good nights sleep. The proprietors are very welcoming, friendly and nothings a problem. I highly recommend Groarty House.
The location and room were excellent
Comfortable, well appointed room friendly and accommodating staff excellent cooked breakfast Booking system is misleading in that it suggests you've paid by card when booking although you actually pay on-site
