The location is right where all the tourists are. Venice is a nice 15 minute walk along the beach and the Santa Monica pier is there. For navigation, there are so many buses and trains that pass by, it's really nice to be in a healthy area. I loved that there were socials like the ice cream social. IT's really nice to have a treat every now and again for free. The outside patio and library are my favorite parts but the fireplace is also one of the most cozy.
Some of the staff are very overworked and they are human, too. So maybe this is a message for management. The price is extremely high but it's not a bad place to go and venture. I felt very safe here and this is the most important thing. Maybe to have a little bit more fruit would be amazing but other than that, the breakfast is all you can eat so after all of the partying, remembering that you have a banana left in your locker may save you.
It's one of the best hostels in Los Angeles. It's near Santa Monica beach and promenade. Many places to eat out and do shopping. This place has different Free activities. Comedy night and hiking.
The breakfast could have been better.
It was cleanly and also an excellent location. Staff was very friendly and particularly helpful about meeting the needs of the clientele. I'd easily stay here again and also recommend it to family and friends.
It closed in the middle of quarantine and quite a few people had to find alternative places to stay. I understand they didn't have much of a choice but there were many hostels that remained opened. It would have been nice even if they didn't take in any new visitors for to let the people who were already there renew for long-term...But they were friendly and kind anyhow.
Breakfast was terrible and very limited.
Helpful staff, good breakfast, nice social areas, beach towels available for use, separate bath mats for showers, possibility of getting a free metro card left behind by others, great location
Window wouldn't close in the room and not fixed after reporting it, random timing of air con/heating, noisy bed when turning, lack of clean cutlery at times
