Pros: The terrace
Cons: I thought with the photos that the garden was larger.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kathy and Thierry’s bungalow is a wonderful home base for a fun and relaxing trip to Moorea. The bedroom is spacious with ample storage for clothes and luggage, and the bed is comfortable. The separate toilet and rain shower are nice as well. And there is a Nespresso machine for coffee, too! We loved the outdoor space as well! The kitchen and dining area is perfect for two, with ample pots, pans, and utensils for cooking our own meals. There is also a sitting area where you can enjoy the beautiful views of Cook’s Bay. As if the accommodation weren’t wonderful enough, Kathy and Thierry make the stay extra special. Their adorable spaniel Heaven was also a highlight. They are so friendly and helpful, offering all of their local advice and expertise for truly enjoying the island. Kathy also drove us to and from the ferry terminal as well as to the mini market on our first day to pick up some food (since everything is closed on Sundays). She also lent and rented us her car on multiple occasions. They provide two bikes for short distance exploration, and we used those to go to the beach on our first day. I cannot recommend Te Fare Hinahei enough! We wished we could stay longer than four nights!
Cons: No complaints here!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Thierry and Cathay’s place was fantastic! They exceeded our expectations. Thierry was very helpful and welcoming. He showed us how to make a local dish(Coconut Ceviche). Had us breakdown coconuts from getting to the nut to milking the pulp. Great experience! The Airbnb that we stayed in was on their property, but we hardly saw them. The indoor and outdoor space that we used was spotless (as clean as it gets). Queen size bed was very comfortable. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Excellent coffee, TV with a few channels and CNN. We slept peacefully every morning until 7am. Communication with Thierry and Cathay was excellent. Cathay was out of the country, but still got the chance to meet her via FaceTime through Thierry’s phone for a few minutes. Thierry gave us access to his propane grill. We grilled up some Ribeye’s and tuna that we got from grocery store (5 minutes drive). Property has fantastic view of bay. You also will have access to use two bicycles, but we recommend renting a vehicle. I could go on and on. If this property is available for your dates of travel in Mo’orea, don’t hesitate, book this property! You won’t regret it!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kathy and Thierry are amazing hosts. The views from this property are beautiful (Photos don’t do this place justice). The studio contains everything you need for a comfortable self catering stay including an indoor kitchen, microwave, outdoor stove and sink, BBQ and outdoor sitting areas. Our stay here was memorable as Kathy went out of her way to make us feel super comfortable. Her local knowledge of places to visit, eat and drink is priceless. This property is located in a convenient part of the island if you wish to go on hikes, visit beaches or snorkel. And this property is super affordable. I highly recommend this place to any traveller visiting Moorea.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The facilities are not perfect, but the lanlords Cathy and Thierry's willing to give us rides to places, including sight seeing locations more than made up for those imperfections. The locations could not have been better - its views of the Cooks Bay and mountains are very beautiful!!
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts Cathy and Thierry and our apartment really exceeded our expectations. This extra one day stay (in addition to the two days we had already stayed here) was necessary for us to see more of the beautiful Moorea, and we were lucky to have it available. In the last morning, Cathy drove us to the Belvedere Mountain parking lot, then we hiked for 45 minutes to the vista point, then she drove us to the ferry port to go back to Tahiti. They were a perfect pair, considering Thierry picked us up from the port on our first day. Cathy's communication via WhatsApp was on time and answered every questions that I asked before we our arrival. Cathy even showed my wife how to make a Tuna dish with fresh coconut juice, and honored us with a dinner at their house right after. We really enjoyed getting to know Cathy and Thierry, and would not hesitate to stay here again.
Cons: None.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, owner, friendliness, bicycle, dog, walks, early/late checkin/checkout, lift to port.
Cons: Moorea is very spreadout without public transport, hence bicycle or car essential.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were very kind and helpful, and easy going at the same time!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Every thing is nice. The location is good. And the hosteler is so friendly to help us deal many things. It is a nice chooice to be here .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an amazing stay at Te Fare Hinahei. Perfect directions/pictures were provided to us, so finding the place was easy. The view from the guesthouse was amazing, and the accommodations were very clean and comfortable. We stopped by the supermarket before, and had a scenic lunch from the outdoor eating area. Cathy and her husband were very welcoming, and definitely exceeded any of our expectations. We didn't have a car, so Cathy mentioned that she could call for some pizza, or use her car to grab food somewhere. We were pretty full from lunch, so she prepared us a delicious salad, and we had wine and great conversation on their patio. Cathy even offered to take us to the Belvedere viewpoint the next day, and dropped us to the Hilton before she went to work the next morning. Again, the hosts were absolutely amazing, and we would highly recommend staying here! Definitely a gem!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lots of privacy for a hostel! Loved the fact the room offered a mosquito net over the bed. Kitchen was always clean and tidy. Grounds were well maintained. Nice and quiet location!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Would definitily recommend this place! The place itself is amazingly arranged (it's called dorm but actually you have single rooms) and Marie was just the perfect host! She was so friendly and helping. She helped us organizing diving tours (which you can get a discount on because she knows the owners!), she helped us getting a rental car and a taxi that would bring us to the airport! Besides, she had a lot of great tips for what to do on the island! There is always a bowl with fresh bananas on the table and the water from the tub is drinking water. The garden is very beautiful, perfect for relaxing. At night, you have a beautiful sky with thousands of stars. Thank you very much again, it was great staying with you!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked the design of the rooms nice to have some personal space, the communal area was great hammocks very comfy, kitchin big enough for lots of people, shower and toilets allways clean and nice hot water.
Cons: It was really out the way from anything and transport to and from the airport was a bit of a mare unless you paid for a taxi. A pick up would of been nice.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great place if you’re looking for a chill place to relax. Well equipped kitchen, hammocks, more or less private “dorm” rooms. There is a nice public beach for swimming/snorkeling about 20 minutes away by foot, and some hiking trails even closer, but you’ll be able to see and do more if you rent a scooter or car.
Cons: It’s far from any stores with food or drink, so stock up while you can!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, great place to meet people. Host was fantastic..great facilities..
Cons: Need a car to get around or u have to hitch hike.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I stayed in one of the bungalows. It was new, clean, and very beautiful! The bed was amazing, ! The mattress is high quality, so are the pillows! The bedsheets smelled fresh and clean!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tranquil setting. Good location
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Conviviality between hosts. Made some really nice connexions. Great place with all the equipment you need.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The partitioned living areas were small, but afforded a cerain amount of privacy for a hostel. Except for the crowing roosters and occasional barking dogs, it was very quiet without any road traffic. Everyone was very friendly.
Cons: My visit was at the height of summer, so it was fairly hot and rained a lot and the mosquitos were out and about, so the Deet and mosquito net over the bed proved invaluable. Restaurants within walking distance were primarily limited to Motu Iti (adequate food) and Rotui Bar & Grill at Hilton (expensive but good), but there was a very good market a couple miles away and good prep facilities.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We arrived earlier to the accommodation and Marie tried to help us by arranging the bungalow as soon as possible so we can enjoy the rest of the day. The bungalow was nice and the bed included mosquito nets. The atmosphere of this hostel was amazing!

Pros: All, all, all!! We were delighted with our bungalow which had a big terrace with a beautfiful garden. Big bathroom, big kitchen with all you need to prepare your meals. Marc and his wife very helpful and kind. Excellent location next to the beach and a little supermarket. Very very good value for money. Do not forget to rent a car if you wanna enjoy Moorea to the most. Fare Manureva has room to park safely your car.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is really beautiful guest house. Room is spacious, have your own private garden. Beach just across road. Kayak free to use. Great snorkeling spot. Convenient store next door. Marc and his wife are nice and helpful. We had wonderful time in here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Large, clean one bedroom with very good cooking facilities, beach across the street, private garden with deck for relaxing and eating your meals outside, and with a small grocery store next door.
Cons: Two small points: 1) soap was not provided in the bathroom, and 2) the water was not drinkable and while a bottle of water was provided upon our arrival, we stayed 5 nights and were expected to buy the rest of what we needed at the store.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the kitchen, the outdoor patio, and location. It was probably the best facility I stayed in while travelling through Tahiti.
Cons: Better signage on the road, if I was driving at night, I would have missed it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Grocery next door, easy beach access and cozy environment!
Cons: Everything is fine!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean accomodations. Host was very helpful. Good size bungalow for the island. Would recommend.
Cons: The location is slightly far away from main areas so a car rental is recommended. Marc's car rental is worth it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Marc and his wife are excellent hosts. Very kind and helpful. The bungallow was clean, well equipped and less than 1 min walking distance from a beautiful beach and a small grocery store. We very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Fare Manureva!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was spacious, clean, private, safe, surrounded by beautiful flora, and every need was tended to by the wonderful hosts. I liked that I could cook in (market nearby) or go out to eat (many restaurants will come pick you up!) I also rented the host’s car for a couple days, which made exploring simple.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The bungalow was very clean. You can rent a car, which is handy and good value.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This place is on the west coast of the island which is less of the tourist-y area aside from the nearby Tiki Village (Which is a must on Moorea). The room was really spacious and had all of the amenities we could've needed. The place was easy to find which was great too. There is a possibility to use kayaks in the water in front of the property which is a fantastic perk.
Cons: The bed could've possibly been a little better. It was fairly low to the ground and being 178cm, it kinda was my length but did the trick quite nicely.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: I was provided with an upgrade accommodation, provided my reservation was not in the system at the time of my arrival.
Cons: Waited too long to get our food/drinks; the waitress forgot about us and served two other couples first (who arrived after we had); unfortunately, this happened twice, on two separate occasions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great egg station at breakfast with nice chef, free drinks in minibar, excellent spa!
Cons: The check-in process was long and full of mistakes on the staff part, but eventually all ok!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing beach, delicious food, comfortable bed & great staff!
6.8 Good
Pros: Buffet breakfast was good; however if you went to breakfast after 8:30 am, many foods were no longer available.
Cons: Was expecting Marriott standards. Nice place but needs maintenance. Thatched roof is major disrepair. Grounds were good but not excellent. Breakfast was good but never got coffee served w/o a hassle. Need a car to get anywhere.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Paradise in a nutshell. Very attentive service, big rooms and the best strip of beach on the whole island (also the least windy). The lagoon around the hotel is teeming with fish and sea life. This hotel has THE BEST BEDS. You will have the mot amazing sleep here. Definitely take advantage of the water activities offered by the nautical centre.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very good rooms, great staff
Cons: Expensive restaurants, need more flexibility in their options
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The quality of food is very good and the service provided is commendable. We experienced a number of hardware issues - unstable wifi, and AC - but the team was very helpful and tried to resolve our them to ensure we have a good stay. There were several activities onsite that you can choose from, and very near to the airport (2 mins). So it fid meet our expectations.
Cons: Hardware issues - such as unstable wifi and AC. But overall kau
10.0 Excellent
Pros: staff were amazing. The best Spa I've ever been to.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The service personal at the morning buffet was the highlight of the day.
Cons: The location is absolutely fantastic, the staff very friendly. Unfortunately, somewhat they seem to have lost their hotel manager. Not seen for 5 days for guests and how the hotel was run. For a 5 Star the service quality was very much below expectations. Everyday something run out of supply, the maintenance of the property has seen better days. You would like to have a sun chair, unfortunately there are so few that you will not manage to have one.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: OMG the fish in the water !!! so many !! we have stayed in overwater bungalow - one towards the end of the pontoon and they are a bit better then the ones closer to the beach. We have stayed 5 nights, then in Bora Bora in InterContinental Thalasso on the motu and InterContinental LaMoana on the main island. And this hotel was our favourite!!!!! We did diving and snorkelling tours on those two islands and nowhere else did I see so much fish as around the coral near Sofitel. Even on one morning there was school of baby sharks between the bungalows !! Decor fab ! Food fab ! Grounds fab ! I'm coming back !!! /which I rarely do/ Fantastic view towards Tahiti. The best Hotel EVER !!
Cons: everything AMAZING !!!!!!!

Pros: Stunning location, sea kayaks, very nice bungalows facing the beach/outer reef, super kind, friendly, helpful owners.
Cons: Spray lower legs with ‘Off’ to stop sand flea bites (very effective)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice big terrace, beautiful garden and beach. Close to stores and restaurants. Kayaks available - can swim to the small motu nearby :-) helpful owner.
Cons: Roosters start singing at 1am and finished as 5am. My earplugs didn’t help :-) We killed a cockroach in our room. Some ants came after we left banana in the kitchen counter. Big bed but mattress not so comfy. No mosquito net over the bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place Loved it
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Fare Tokoau is really a nice and quite place. You can really relax in the garden overlooking the beach and the sea and enjoy great sunsets. Rooms are cozy. Thea is really nice and helpful (for any kind of information or activity you would like to have she will help you). All around, in a few km, you can find a wide variety of restaurants, some offering also a free pick-up service (extremely useful if you do not have a means of transport). We definitely suggest, by the way, to rent a car or a scooter. Also to reach other beaches. The one in front of Fare Tokoau is nice but not good for swimming/snorkeling.
Cons: Bicycles, available for free (great!), could be very useful, but are old and not well maintained (quite dangerous). There are many wild cocks all around and they can be really noisy all day and night long.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Alex and Tea are very friendly and helpful. They provided us with good information about restaurants, beaches around the area.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Private beach. Use if kayaks.
Cons: Sub standard accommodation. No air-con. No hot water in kitchen. Old uncomfortable mattresses. Very little privacy when using the toilet. Had to ask for bathroom light to be fixed. Only one breakfast bowl for two people. Over priced.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hosts, free kayaks, great location..wonderful bungalows.
Cons: Inefficient fan, air conditioner installed but non functional..lots of mosquitoes
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fare tokoau is far the best place in moorea! Not only for the family that runs the business but also because of the spot they are situated. We loved that wasn’t overcrowded with tourist, it was close to the shops and has it own beautiful lil beach! The free kayaks also made our stay! We kayaked to the most amazing spots that where nearby! Highly recommend to stay here!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: the place with a private beach if you have no car take the bus at the port it only cost 300 instead of 5000 with a taxi
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The couple that run it was amazing. The location was beautiful. Approximately 30 minutes from the ferry and 5 minutes to food and grocery stores. It's isolated with it's own beach that is great for snorkeling and kayaking. Perfect for a couple. Not luxury, but extremely sweet. Wi-fi was good. I felt bad as they only accept cash, but I didn't see that clearly from Booking.com, so I had to digitally send them the fee.
Cons: Bed could be a bit better...

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The creperie was delicious. The grill has excellent club sandwich and fries.
Cons: Our bungalow, #4, was right next to a main road so we heard traffic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The sea, the corals, the colored fishes all over, the rooms, the services, the smiles, the view of the mountains, the beach, the free minibar, the welcome champagne, the garden, the restaurants, the spa, the sunrise and the sunset. The horse ride
Cons: Everything exceptional. I considered the plastic sunbed by the pool not at the same outstanding level of the rest
7.0 Good
Pros: Astonishing location.
Cons: Everything is just fine. A 5 star resort should offer more than just a view. It looks like it was a paradise when it was built but it is showing its age now and they should make an effort and refurbish it. Small details should be adjusted like the 10$/day rental fee for DVDs (really?? we are in 2019..), the poor wifi coverage and power (we got a better service in cheaper places in FP) the old furniture (e.g. loose seams on the wallpaper, unstable tables and holes in the curtains) and, overall, the cleanness.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our over water bungalow was absolutely amazing. A must do. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Especially the front desk staff. They were amazing!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: good breakfast and bungalow view.
Cons: Some staffs is not thoughtful. For example, when we asked to take away our lunch because they were so slow and our activity time was closed, a waitress rejected us without any solution. We just kept starved till dinner.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The bungalow on the water is amazing, with a stunning view, you can see a lot of maritime life such as sharks, fish and corals. The breakfast is delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing over water bungalow! Great facilities, friendly staff, beautiful location.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: bungalow, the lagoon, and the place in general are awesome.
Cons: service was not of good quality, that should impact more the rating :/ It might be because of the Easter weekend but at this price service should be top of the art. And it was clearly not. Employees complaining against each others, feeling of being just a number/other client, welcoming was messy like the checkout. Very sad about the most expensive night of the week
5.0 Okay
Pros: The Overwater Villa was nice, Actually it is the nicest part of this hotel, others are bad cheap touristy beach resort.
Cons: Crowded, Lousy group of tourists, and the hotel is currently accepting a very big NatGeo cruise which arrives with large number of very loud people and it a huge disappointment because the staff couldnt beable to handle all of the at once and the whole hotel became a total disaster. All the restaurants were closed left only one small crape only restaurant open which by reservation-only. We left out with only room service choice!

Pros: It was in a perfect location right on the bay. We were able to do some snorkeling and swimming right off the pier. Plus Phillipe was a gracious host. I'm sorry we weren't there longer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: all and specially location and food.
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Philipp was an excellent host who explained to us all the interesting sites and gave us a lot of background information on the island. The breakfast, sitting two meters from the lagoon, was extraordinary with fresh fruit plattter, crispy baguettes and 3 types of delicious jam. Philipp's homemade 3 course dinners are an absolute must! The coral reef directly in front of the bungalow is absolutely spectacular and within easy reach. The whole bungalow and the food tables were daily decorated with fresh flowers from the lush garden. We absolutely loved our stay at Fare Vaihere!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful oasis; very relaxing atmosphere, only 4 bungalows. Great location with a beautiful reef just in front of the hotel. There is also a beach which you can reach by kayak - also not far. Philippe (the owner) looks after the guests very well. There are bicycles, kayaks, snorkeling gear, beach towels. One can also have great meals onsite! One can also book some tours right there. I cannot think of a better place for visiting the island!
Cons: Everything was great.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: There is a very relaxing and peaceful atmosphere within Fare Vaihere. Philippe and his team spread charme and friendlyness. They help you with every inquiery and give you good recommendations for activities on Moorea. When you are staying at Fare Vaihere you must have dinner. Philippe is an excellent cook who combines the french kitchen with local ingredients - absolutely perfect!

We enjoyed our kayak rides around nearby bays. Philippe was very accommodating and it was a pleasure visiting with him. Wonderful place to stay!!
Cons: We liked everything about the place!!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We were only there overnight but everything was excellent. Phillippe was very helpful, the environment and view is beautiful and breakfast was great. Would definitely stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our host, phillipe works tirelessly to ensure all the guests are looked after and happy. My friend and I particularly liked the warmth and friendliness of the staff and guests. Communal eating at breakfast and dinner fostered this. It is easy to stay and relax or venture out for tours, and Phillipe arranges these. The food was excellent and the bed comfortable. My friend and I thoroughly recommend this fare as a wonderful place to stay.
Cons: The mosquitoes are fierce, so bring repellent.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It is a beautiful location on the edge of the lagoon, although a drive to restaurants, shjops etc. Philippe was a charming and most helpful host and produced a good dinner as well as arranging free transport to a local restaurant. Snorkelling off the end of the jetty was good.
Cons: No complaints

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great access to the water. Bikes and cañíes available for use. Nice little kitchen. Comfortable bed. Clean! Shop nearby! Good wifi!
Cons: Mosquitos were a problem. Although the bed had a net there were no screens for windows or door. Bathroom and bedroom layout a little odd although nicely decorated. Open shower in the second bedroom would make it difficult for anyone except a family with young children. It is very expensive for what it is, but a nice spot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved Everything about Poerani. The hosts were friendly and easily accessible and helpful. The rooms were large and comfortable and the a/c was a must because it was very hot. Kitchen was adequate and outdoor sitting was perfect. The beach, snorkeling and kayaks just steps away was better than any resort. Grocery store across the road and bikes to have from property were perfect. We will stay again.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming, romantic little bungalow, very cozy for one person in my case or would be perfect for two also. Extremely clean and the grounds are meticulously groomed. The whole property is lovely and has water access from a.pretty, grassy little beach. I didn't have a water view but it was only steps away if I wanted to sit by the water. Never missed it because I loved the privacy of my bungalow surrounded by a lush tropical garden.
Cons: Absolutely nothing! There was some road noise as my place was closest to the road but it didn't bother me in the least. With bedroom air conditioning on and windows closed you wouldn't notice it, but I preferred to sleep island-style with a fresh breeze blowing through.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about Poerani Moorea was fantastic. We loved the grounds and especially the view. The apartment was very comfortable. It was fine for our family of four. The air conditioners in the bedrooms worked well so it was comfortable to sleep.
Cons: More coffee would be nice
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved Poerani! Beautiful and convenient location, well fitted out bungalows on lush grounds with easy access to a great swimming spot, with sun loungers and free kayaks. Franck and Emeline could not have been better hosts. Emeline organised scooter hire and transfers for us and was so helpful and friendly. Maharepa is a short walk away and has great options for meals and a supermarket and bank.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location right on the water. Kayaks, bicycles and snorkeling equipment provided for all quests. Very helpful and friendly owners. Grocery store is very close.
Cons: Lots of mosquitoes, but it was the rainy season. take your bug spray. And 1 bathroom for 4 people was a challenge, but we survived.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Free use of bikes, kayaks and snorkeling equipment. Host was excellent and very helpful.
Cons: Everything was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My accommodations were in a private villa (not a hotel). A few yards from my villa lie the sea! An awesome view with full access. The grounds are well maintained and are in a full lush tropical setting. The villa is natural, and has good air conditioning, if you want it. This is the rainy season so I only used it twice. It cools quickly! I have food specifications, and used the kitchen for all my meals. There are two other villas on site and I had great neighbors. Since I solo travelled, this was a pleasant plus!
Cons: Mosquitoes. Barely visible but tenacious (island wide). I advise travelers to bring the best products as “Off” does not work here. You need serious protection meant for this region.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The beach the corals and the best location for snorkelling. No need to go anywhere. There are rays, black tip sharks and coral fishes as at a few hundred feet. Many stores and restaurants within walking distance. The availability of kayaks, bicycles and snorkelling equipment makes is a very relaxing environment.
Cons: Perhaps the lack of outside kitchen or grilling facilities.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Stephane was a great host - very friendly and accommodating. Beach access was great. Room was beautiful with all amenities. Great location for walking to town and to nearby restaurants. Good grocery store was very close by for your daily baguettes, cheeses, rum and more.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The private beach and use of kayaks. It was also very close to our favourite restaurant Coco d'Isle and the other restaurants and shops so you don't necessesarily need a car here.
Cons: It was fine for a quick stopover as it was raining those days but if it was really hot it could be unbearable without air conditioning and fixed fan on the wall in the bedroom. The bedroom was also a bit musty.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The beachfront villa gave a beautiful view of the water. Also, the location is only a short walk from two good local restaurants. You can order fresh bread daily through reception.
Cons: Use of the kayaks is restricted to 2 hours per day per bungalow so it’s not like you can kayak to coco beach for lunch and back. The bungalows didn’t have air conditioning (not that they were supposed to).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The bungalows are wonderful, even the garden bungalows are very close to the beach. Our hostess was very accommodating always. We would come back to Fare Miti again.
Cons: Wifi was poor, you needed to be in the middle of the property under the palms for reception, and then again it was sketchy.
4.5 Okay
Pros: I would never stay here again. Ants crawling all over the bathroom sink, walls, toilet. Ants in the kitchen. Could not it leave so much as a banana out without ants. No air conditioning and just two fans that hardly provide a breeze.
Cons: I did not like this place. Reception was only there for the morning until 1PM. Hard to reach if there was a problem. Not accommodating.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location and the view absolutley A+. Nearby food and stores, etc
Cons: The heat was unbearable. NO AIR OR SCREENS ON WINDOWS. I live where its in the 100+ degrees in the summer and it was worst than that. If they put a small ac unit in the bedrooms they could get another 30-40 dollars a night easy. We could only sleep under the big fan in the kitchen area, not the bedroom.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The bungalow meet our expectations. The porch was fabulous. The location provided outstanding snorkeling. The kayaks were great - the lagoon was perfect for kayaking. Great location to convince stores. Remember they aren’t open during typical US times.
Cons: There is no AC, the fan in the bedroom worked , but the placement of the fan to the bed wasn’t adequate. No issue we moved the bed - perfect fan position
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fare Miti and the beach are lovely, the local shops and restaurants are within walking distance
Cons: Everything was good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Look no further. Forget fancy hotels This is hands down our favorite place of the whole trip even though we stayed on outer overwater bungalow in Bora
Cons: Occasionally spotty wifi , but who really cares...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our ocean front room was decorated very nicely . Fresh flowers in room each day were an added surprise. A welcome drink of fresh papaya juice was appreciated. We enjoyed our kayak rides around nearby bays. Philippe was very accommodating and it was a pleasure visiting with him. Wonderful place to stay!!
Cons: We liked everything about the property!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location on the beach and the bungalow was lovely.
Cons: No air con. Was a bit hot at times.

Pros: Our hostess, Elaine was wonderful and incredibly helpful. A unique place that is beautifully positioned next to the water. We really enjoyed our delicious breakfast and dinners looking out over the lagoon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything about this property! Eileen and her staff made us feel right at home. The location is perfect and our room with private deck on the water was gorgeous!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: views over the lagoon, very comfy beds
Cons: experience not that great, they need to treat all customers equal and be more helpful. Breakfast and Dinner was very expensive for what you received and same every day. wifi was really bad.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful houses with an awesome decoration Extraordinary meals Super friendly staff Superb location Paradise like Unique and Tahitian style like With a kind of “secret garden” My stay in the Hôtel Fenua Mata'i'oa was superb! I enjoyed every single minute. It was like being in Paradise with good friends. Eileen, known as Madame Voila (as she makes everything possible) is a very special person. She is super friendly, always smiling, has an extraordinary taste and gives you the impression to be not only a guest. You are feeling familiar in her domicile. This is the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever been. I always saw a new and beautiful detail when I was walking around. The houses are stunning. All are different decorated. She uses a lot of natural materials for the decoration and curtains. You can’t get enough of everything. Every day I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast and an extraordinary dinner. The dishes were decorated with flowers like works of art and incredibly delicious. I was looking forward to a new menu every day. I got to know their employees, who are very nice and eager to fulfill your wishes. The cats were super sweet. I was also introduced to Madame Mime, the house Moray eel. The lagoon right on the terrace invites you to snorkel and kayak. There are many things to discover, such as clown fish, corals, blacktip sharks and different types of rays. I have tried the Thalasso massage and water touch massage, which I really enjoyed. The days at the hotel were gorgeous, the garden is a little secret paradise. A tour guide, whom I met and brought me back, said I was at the most beautiful place in Moorea. Yes, I agree with him and will come back again and again! Thank you Eileen, for everything <3
Cons: There’s nothing to complain about
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was a delight and we came to do one thing which was to relax, and for this it was perfect.. Plenty of activities to enjoy from this wonderful but we chose only to relax and have a great time. Already planning another visit to this delightful spot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Eileen & her staff were absolutely charming in every possible way, they went out of their way to make us feel very welcome & comfortable. Each evening for dinner & again at breakfast, they created the most gorgeous floral arrangements on our table, just for us. I have never seen anything quite like it before - so beautiful & so very polynesian. Wish we could have stayed longer with our polynesian family.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Incredible location and view in this area!
Cons: Host is wonderful but the dining/bar staff can have a bit more training
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This slice of paradise is so very special. Eileen considers privacy as one of the key aspects of your stay. With just 5 rooms, but with an array of secluded seating areas all around the jungle like grounds you feel like you have the whole place to yourself. Presentation of dinners and breakfast were superb. Take a kayak and row a couple of hundred meters and you can swim with the rays and sharks (see my pics included) - actually the water is only 1.5 meters deep, so you are waist to shoulder deep depending on the tide.
Cons: Didn't like leaving - but all good things are only transient right? ;)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: If you are looking for an intimate, romantic villa - this is your place! It is an eclectic mix of French and Polynesian styles but it has to be seen to be believed. The owner, Eileen, is divine,
Cons: No water provided, grab some bottles at the mini-mart at the top of the road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pictures don't do this place justice, secluded and private this is an ideal escape for any solo or couple looking to avoid the carnival that comes with large scale resorts. Entering this property is like entering a jungle and common areas are numerous and designed in a way that allows a lot of privacy and gives you the impression that you have the place to yourself a lot of the time. It was very quiet and peaceful. Very friendly staff who were very attentive and professional. I had breakfast and dinner there for 3 of my 4 days and it was absolutely devine. Substantial continental breakfast that fulled me up for most of the day and in the evenings I sampled various local seafood delights (something I can be fussy about but this was super delicious, even non seafood lovers would be converted) ... The meals were an experience in of itself. The style and decor of the entire property is truly mesmerizing and puts a warm, genuine and personal touch that flash and shiny resorts simply don't offer. The beautifully designed rooms were very comfortable and cleaned daily including a turn down service in the evening. The location was handy to numerous nearby beaches and you can walk/swim/kayak to the sting ray and shark grounds nearby. I was lucky enough to secure the prestige suite which is isolated from the other rooms, I would highly recommend this property to anyone and everyone. It has thus far been the highlight of my trip
Cons: Leaving... was really hard to accept even though I was moving on to Bora Bora

When you stay at Residence Moorea Sunset Beach in Moorea-Maiao, you'll be near the beach, a 1-minute drive from Tiahura Beach and 9 minutes from Moorea Tropical Garden. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed the one-bedroom set up of the unit. We got the second floor which had a great view and large balcony. It also comes with washer and dryer so we can do laundry for free. The kitchen in the unit has all the utensils and dishes needed. Check in process is simple and we left early, so the staff told us to leave the keys in the room when we check out.
Cons: TV reception is a bit bad, and the road within the hotel complex is unpaved. It rained a bit so there were mud everywhere. Front desk has very limited hours and we need to pay for the Nespresso pods.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved this place! Accommodations were amazing! Great for families traveling together. The Lagoon Beach was idyllic! You can snorkel from the shore or rent kayaks or small boats and find places with amazing snorkeling! Also there is a great place to swim with sharks and rays!! All right there. Restaurants nearby! Best place in Moorea!
7.5 Good
Cons: The separate toilet and the sink seemed so odd and such a tight small space. You could barley move. The staff times of needing help or asking any questions was such a small window. Also, when we had asked the front desk to book us a reservation to coco beach because our phone in the room wasn’t working, they said they would and never confirmed if they did or not. And the front desk was empty for hours so there was no way of knowing. We just took the risk and went anyway and in fact coco beach said they didn’t get our reservation at all.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, facilities, and staff. Bungalows are very efficient and stocked with kitchen essentials. Loved the patio with its table and lounge chairs. Front desk was very responsive to our requests. Other guests were generally considerate, given the close proximity of the lodging. And of course the beach is amazing!
Cons: I hoped for a more genuine French Polynesia feel, instead of modern and Westernized. Rather than irons and hairdryers (which are likely not used much), it would be great to include a clothesline, hooks for hanging, quick dry beach towels, starter coffee kit, and some local area info in the rooms - like maps and nearby shops and restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, plenty of space for a family with two young kids, modern European-style apartment, washer/dryer.
Cons: No beach gear - it would have been great to have an umbrella, snorkel gear, and especially beach towels!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Matthew was awesome to work with. We followed his suggestions and were so happy with our stay. The employees of the Yellow Lizard were so fun and friendly and the food was great! We ate there twice.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location.
6.8 Good
Pros: Air conditioning in bedroom. Windows can be closed.
Cons: Accommodation location wasn't near the beach like images on description make me think ( = fake images). Too much insects inside.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful bungalow, perfect location
9.3 Excellent
Cons: I'm assuming that the showers and toilet system are on a septic tank as in the morning both the shower and toilet smelled strongly

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The people who run this place are beautiful, helpful, loving people who treated us like family. We loved our time there. One of the highlights of our 4 week trip!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The position, the friendly staff, the gardens, use of kayaks..
Cons: No introductory information to introduce the facilities, what was available for meal options at the property, where to turn on the gas for the stove/oven. A simple set of written information would have clarified all the above. Staff and owners lovely, so really no problem, just slightly frustrating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful pension, our bungalow, the Pinapo, had a perfect view over the lagoon. The terrace was perfect to relax. The pension is right in front of the spot where you can swim with the sharks and rays. There is also a grocery store conveniently located nearby. The owners helped us book some good restaurants for dinners. One night, they even picked us up at the Intercontinental to drive us back home because we could not find a taxi. (Most restaurants would pick us and drop us off at the pension). We enjoyed using the kayaks for free. The restaurant of the pension is open for lunches and serves delicious meals. We highly recommend it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was gorgeous, we loved being right on the water. The entire property was like an oasis in paradise. Food was delicious and very fresh. Staff were all extremely nice and accommodating. It was a two day trip to heaven.
Cons: Nothing. We loved it all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Taoahere beach house was the perfect place to stay in Moorea both to totally relax and explore the island. The beach house gardens and beach area are tranquil, beautiful and secluded. The clear turquoise ocean is right there at your feet for paddling, Swimming, snorkeling, Kayaking etc.. The jet ski tour with Yannick was fun and exhilarating. He knows the island so well, it has been his playground his whole life. We saw whales!!! Played with the Rays, saw dolphins, and masses of beautiful, colourful fish and coral. The owners and staff are very welcoming, friendly, helpful and kind. Tehei and her Husband speak perfect English. They arranged for a fantastic massage therapist to come to my bungalow. This was an incredible massage in an idyllic location. I stayed in the Tiare bungalow and it was wonderfully spacious and comfortable with a fabulously tropical feeling. I enjoyed the poisson cru at the on site restaurant by the sea here. And also loved the nearby seafood restaurant recommended by Tehei. I went on my scooter, but they have a pick up service too. There is a grocery store at the top of the road, in walking distance, and a village nearby. I love Moorea, and the beach house is the ideal spot to stay to enjoy it. Thankyou again Taoahere
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Taoahere & wife were so kind & helpful & responded to all our needs. Property is a well kept peaceful oasis, and “papi” helpful every AM to get kayaks ready for us. Loved our stay! Bed & pillows very comfy, mosquito net feels romantic, great to have air conditioner for night. Pineapple bungalow has amazing views & deck. Took advantage of free kayaks every AM to paddle out to the rays/sharks before all the other boats would get there. Property close to market to stock up if you want to cook in. Also several restaurant options & many will pick you up & drop off if you pre-arrange reservations. Also they have lunch on site Wed-Sun and dinner on weekends. We did not get to try it, but an option if you don’t want to venture out.
Cons: Don’t stay here is you don’t like the sound of roosters -not on site but all around neighborhood. Did not bother us, we slept great, but might deter others. Kitchen very basic but we only used for breakfast, but noted no cutting knife/cutting board, but I am sure if needed, they’d provide whatever you need. Free bikes on property, but super rusty & don’t change gears, so just use within a 2-3 mile radius. But we used them. Also, lack of extra outlets made hard to charge phones - had to unplug lamps to charge phone or use blow dryer. Not a big deal.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: I was travelling with my 90 year old Mum and she loved the lounge furniture in this bungalow. Best we had for comfort! Amazing location overlooking the Lagoonarium which I just loved. Not too far to the nearest shop or cafe. Lovely lady who looked after us was very helpful, especially when I lost the house keys. Huge unit for two people, loved the outdoor furniture and view. The quirky kitchen was well stocked and loved the welcome drink. Good recommendations for eating out. A car is a very good idea for this place.
Cons: Only thing was the upstairs bed and the mattress protector. It made the bed a bit sweaty.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location with a view of Tahiti in the distance and a small Motu island with excellent snorkeling just offshore. Free kayaks for use on the beach just outside the back door.
Cons: Use caution in the ocean, strong currents. Bring mosquito repellant.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location and seclusion was great. Lagoon swimming. Only three bungalows, so not many people. Use of SUP and kayaks.
Cons: No toaster!! Road is noisy but we already knew that and didn’t really bother us.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: - Location is fantastic - stunning views of the beach and Ahi Motu, proximity to Lagoonarium and supermarket is great. - Nice airy, spacious, comfortable (can sleep 7) beach bungalow - overall feel of the accommodation is excellent! Very private - protected by a sliding gate from the road. - You can walk or wade your way to the lagoonarium boat pickup - less than a block away - one of the best experiences in Moorea. - The patio looking out into the beach is a great place to relax and chill - Lots of Kayaks provided plus a paddle board. - Snorkeling is nice!- about 25/30 ft away from the shoreline, there's a small reef outcrop with a variety of fish. The depth doesn't change as you get to the reef where the fish are - lots of of them in shallow, safe waters. Bring water/reef shoes - lots of harmless smaller sea cucumbers on the beach floor. We even spotted a stingray gliding by. The shallow depth makes it very kid friendly. Its literally a big ocean-swimming-pool in front of the house. - Didn't have time to go beyond the outcrop to the edge of the reef to the channel but were told there are turtles there. - The property manager was excellent and super nice. - Very close (5 minute drive) to Champion supermarket, the ferry and a couple of pizzerias. Look for local farmers selling delicious bananas and other fruit by the side of the road between this place and the ferry harbor. (We did rent a car and its totally worth it to do so). - They take the trouble to recycle and compost - very important on this little island! - Overall, a big thumbs up!
Cons: - Kitchen stove is very old - the burners have holes in them and work so-so. Pots and Pans are also old and scratched up. - Sink plumbing started to leak, toilet is dated but works. - Bring your own snorkeling gear, theirs is old (as of March 2019)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We were greeted always with a smile by a lady who was regularly making flower arrangements on our table. At the outset, we were greeted with fresh fruit in the fridge. The beach and kayaks and stand up paddle board were well used, and the nearby Lagoonarium was within easy reach. As well as corals and fish, we were able to see sharks and a turtle! The Lodge was within easy reach of the supermarket. The tricycle looked a little tired when we arrived, but my request for some oil on the chain and air in the tyres was rapidly dealt with, and I was able to enjoy a trip to the supermarket, local fruit stalls, and the nearby village. ...but for anything else you really need a car!
Cons: In spite of the front electrically operated gate giving us security, the beach area was open to others who wandered by from time to time, as well as the occasional dog....one of which chose to plant herself down on our balcony. Mosquitoes and midges were a constant challenge, but the mosquito nets kept us free from bother at night. Fans helped to make up for the lack of air-con, but there were fans in only two of the bedrooms.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Cute bungalow. Really nice inn keeper. Very relaxing and amazing place!
Cons: Everything was really good
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location. Beach unit set in a lovely garden setting which was well maintained. Best to have a car if staying here to enable you to see more of the island.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous location right on the beach. Free rental of SUP and kayaks
Cons: Holes on the wall and insects, but it's a normal thing in Moorea
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tranquil setting with beautiful private beach
9.3 Excellent
Pros: 1) close to a lagoonarium 2) kayaking 3) very spacious
Cons: 1) mosquitoes (got a lot of bites from them)

Cons: (Really) expensive food (especially breakfast)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Intercontinental was awesome in the true sense of the word! The staff were very friendly and did a great job. Our bungalow, 508, was a partial over water and the snorkeling in front of it was great. We had a bush overhanging the waterline right next to our bungalow and the fish loved to hang out there. Behind us there was another shallow snorkel area that had different fish and was also enjoyable. Black tip sharks (no threat) were seen in both areas along with turtles. Food was delicious but pretty pricey. As there was construction going on at the main restaurant (not near us) we were given free dinners and 1 beverage each every day, as compensation. There will be additional construction coming up so check into that before booking.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Although service was hit and miss we found most staff particularly the Beach bar were really good The pool is lovely Check out staff was really good Grounds were pretty Activities offered onsite were good (bear in mind these are outsourced companies) such as parasailing, diving etc
Cons: No info proactively about airport transfer, had to contact them to get them to arrange it (apparently all hotels outsource this with varying operators due to island rules of supporting local economy) ironically 2 other ppl were waiting at airport staying at IHG and they had no idea that they were not getting picked up, I had to help them to contact front desk and unfortunately in the end they had to get a taxi but they were upset as they received NO info by the hotel about anything. It would have been fine if the hotel proactively emailed guests about the transfer info! Didn’t tell us spa was closed until we got there! They do have outsourced masseuses who can come to you room but really disappointed they just didn’t TELL us beforehand. Got off the transfer bus and no one greeted us we were a bit confused for a few mins of what to do as didn’t want to just leave our bags on the curb. Think this should be better as doesn’t give a good first impression. The rooms are very dated Lack of sockets in convenient locations Air conditioning didn’t work had maintenance come to fix it and he first replaced the filter which was SO disgusting obv had not been replaced in years. Maintenance called the Technician who would arrive in 10 mins but took another 50mins. Regardless it didn’t make it too much cooler but at least the musty smell had gone due to the filter change. Mould growing around the air con vents Mould in bathroom around shower head/handle, around bath. Mould around the basin area and really dirty grout on bathroom tiles. Housekeeping didn’t replace coffees and some amenities so had to call for those On our second day at breakfast the roosters were hanging around and for one unfortunate guest one jumped ON to her table and was eating her food! She was upset and the staff member did shoo it away after several attempts to get staff attn! But she didn’t close the window or offer to replace her items. The rooster kept hanging around so they left.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really enjoyed the activities offer by the hotel, kayaking, paddle boarding, tennis court. They also have some dolphins and turtles! The room was comfy and the staff very nice and attentive. You also can get a cocktail at the bar of the swimming pool, fancy!
Cons: I didn’t really like the food.

Pros: Best place to stay in Moorea: - beautiful beach bungalow, comfy bed with mosquitos net, - affordable delicious breakfast on the site - very helpful staff, helped to arrange trips, dinners, transportation - on site little store with bottles of water, beer, wine and soft drinks - nice beach with great snorkeling options - spacious bathroom - credit card payments
Cons: - the water pressure in the shower could be stronger at times
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was magical, especially being able to snorkel off the jetty.
Cons: It was all good.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The jetty was fun for the kids and we got to see lemon, black tipped and nurse sharks every evening. Some local restaurants included complementary pickup. The room was extra spacious for a family and had air con in both bedrooms and a deck with a sea view. Indoor and outdoor table seating. Best overall small resort for a family having stayed at 3 on the Moorea.
Cons: A coffee filter would have been a nice touch as that was available at the other small resorts.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the place, we saw sharks and rays and sooo many fish from the port!! It was an amazing stay, so tranquil and the hotel view was out of this world! Plus: Dorine is fantastic!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the pier , the snorkelling and the sharks and rays.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Linareva resort was a wonderful place to spend our time on Moorea. So much to like about the resort: * Staff / owners: wonderful people that went out of their way to make you feel at home and looked after - from arranging tours / scooter rentals to restaurant transfers to just dropping by to say hello and give some fresh fruit from the garden. You can see they really care about there business and ensuring people enjoy their holidays. * The property and location: located just outside the main tourist parts but close enough by car (restaurants provide free pick up, our favorite was the seafood restaurant, Tiahoua). A supermarket is 10 min by bike (provided free by resort). The property itself was beautiful and the grounds well maintained. Although the place was fully booked, it never felt crowded. There is a little beach but what was amazing was the pier which you could dive off (about 5 meters deep) and swim. There are wonderful fish (as is over a reef) and every evening there are sharks - nurse (over 2 meters) as well as black tipped fin and occasionally lemon sharks (1 - 1.5 meters). People were swimming with them and snorkeling off the pier as was an wonderful location. During our stay the owner feed the sharks off the pier (away from swimming area) around sunset - amazing seeing these sharks in action in shallow water where could see them. Everyone came out to watch so a great time to meet others and share a drink and watch the sunset! * Rooms: we stay in a garden view cabin but still with ocean view from our porch. The room was spacious with full kitchen, large bed, nice bathroom and shower. Cleaned daily. On our porch was a table w/2 sitting chairs and two plastic chairs for sitting in the sun. WiFi worked very well - no issues on the property or in the room. Also there is a shower to wash off from the beach - everything was well thought out. * Services and amenities: the resort provides a fridge on site with beer, wine, soda, etc.
Cons: Great stay - nothing I didn’t like about the property.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved this place- small, relaxed vibe. Get a kayak or SUP and go out from overwater bungalows to snorkel- beautiful!
Cons: Food and drinks very expensive but pretty good quality!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Manava was low key and beautiful, perfect for our honeymoon. The overwater bungalow was amazing. Beautiful views, friendly staff, very well kept and clean property. Loved the pool and kayaks/paddleboards for guests to use. 10 Minute walk to nearby restaurants and shops, although these are overall limited on the island. Only wish the food at the resort restaurant was better and more reasonably priced. Staff was helpful in booking dinner reservations and excursions. Would recommend rudys restaurant, carmelines for breakfast, the atv tour and beginners scuba dive. Overall wonderful resort and would highly recommend!
Cons: Restaurant was overpriced, buffet was not great
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect. Safe for all water activities. Walking distance to small village. Beautiful views everywhere you looked.
Cons: Wish there was a place for small snacks or smaller meal choices.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and facilities
Cons: Poor Wi-fi
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The resort was very open and airy. Lovely facilities especially the spa. The room was comfortable. Poolside was gorgeous. Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Service at the restaurant was shockingly poor.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a good resort that is properly priced and well equipped. The facilities are very clean and as good as the top tier resorts, and it is more affordable. Staffs are (I felt) more friendly than the top tier resorts. Restaurants were excellent, and breakfast was better than Intercontinental. I would probably stay here again if I come back.
Cons: Air conditioners in the rooms were old and not operating (cooling) very well.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and dinner with a lot of options. Good variety of activities.
Cons: In general, I feel it is too expensive for what they offer, especially if compared to similar resort in French Polynesia. The bungalow was not very quiet, in particular in the early morning.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room (duplex family room with garden view). Onsite dive centre is very good and generally, unlike other resorts, it is very convenient having snorkelling & diving trips leaving from the hotel itself, rather than having to travel to other hotels first. Good poolside food and drink service.
Cons: WIFI was often patchy. Poor service at the bar.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The pool was beautiful, the bed was very comfortable and the staff was kind and attentive. They also provided a lovely treat for our anniversary. Also Sonia the bartender was fantastic.
Cons: The food at the resort wasn’t good at all. Both quality and preparation were poor.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The resort was amazing and had everything you’d expect from a resort. A shop, restaurant, access to activities and comfortable rooms. We stayed in the family room which had space for four people. It had a fridge, two TVs, air conditioning and a safe. it had a mezzanine floor with beds upstairs and beds downstairs in the main living area. It also had a balcony that overlooked the garden. Service was friendly and great in all parts of the resort - reception, the restaurants, pool, garden, facilities and room service. The bar also had happy hour. We found the activities great. We would particularly recommend the lagoon tour where you have lunch on the beach (Seafari). This was a highlight of this trip (and amongst any of the trips we’ve ever done around the world).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Near to city centre, nice view by day and night
Cons: Weak wifi
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel with good facilities.
Cons: Hotel feels old and could use some maintenance and an update.
Chambre Bleue - Papetoai - Building

8.8 Excellent (44 reviews)
6.3 Good
Cons: You must clean on your own the cutlery and dishes after breakfast Owner comments if you too much?!?
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Josef is wonderful. He told us so many things about polynesian culture, traditions etc.. He speaks French, English as well as German fluently and gave us good advice about sights, activities and some little tricks which might be useful in polynesia. Offering sometimes homemade delicious icecream and demonstrating how to open a coconut yourself, make Josef the perfect host on Moorea.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: - very nice host - very nice appartement and swimming pool - very nice breakfast
Cons: - a bit remote. Nead the bus (very few of them) or bicycle (extra cost) to go to beach - A/C as an extra
8.8 Excellent
Pros: They where so helpfull and welcome. The pool is an extra amazing plus. The girl that welcome us was amazing and breakfast very good
Cons: We couldnt go out without car as the area is dark and not really safe to walk alone. The outside Kitchen is nice looking but not really confy and clean.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendly owner and good breakfast.
Cons: The bed needed to be renewed. Owner already ordered a new one. So, no worries for your stay!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Jos was very helpful and good fun. The room was spacious and the shower was very hot. The breakfast was very tasty and generous. The view to the mountains was very relaxing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The multilingual housekeeper is great and tried to make our stay even more comfortable providing all the necessary information. The all-day pool is clean & excellent, the breakfast was (at least for us) the best in whole trip through Fr. Polynesia, even with some bonuses during the evening. Cooking facililties for the basic cooking are OK, fridge present and working. Own dogs are very polite and friendly to the guests but do their job during the night. Great location near the center of Papetoai to drive (and even walk/hike) to Holy Steak house, to Opunohu Bay with Moorea Activities Center as well as to the most western point of the island - Petit Village - with all the shops and restaurants. No roosters in the near neighbourhood so no early wake-ups, fortunately. Sunset in the near bay was one of the most beautiful in PF.
Cons: To be perfect, few outdated facilities would need a bit maintanance or repair/change. Electric kettle, microwave, plug in the bathroom or hair dryer missing - they're not essential but would improve the final rating definitely. Sometimes dogs are awful during the evening/night so we couldn't fall in sleep for hours.. but later it's OK.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Friendly owner. Room. Location. Bicycles. Great breakfast.
Cons: We liked everything.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The host was welcoming and helpful and was happy to share his experience and knowledge of the local area freely. The setting was majic and the daily breakfast was sumptuous, fresh and made with love. I travelled on my own and i felt safe and cared for and the host helped me with lots of things generously and respectfully. I felt like a welcome guest of Chambre Bleu and Moorea..not just a tourist.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great location to spend your time on moorea. The host is extremely nice and takes care of everything. I can only recommend the accommodation, and I'll be back. an incredibly friendly atmosphere in the middle of paradise. Perfect. oh, and the breakfast is outstanding!!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place, lovely people! We loved our stay at Fare Miti bungalow! Thank you Mark and family for everything - our stay at Mo’orea couldn’t have been better! We will definitely return :)
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: it was really terrible stay, mark is very unpleasant person, he verbally attacked my husband, acommodation is very old and used, pillows were moldy, furniture also etc. i read review for this acommodation in tripadvisor and we have a similar bad experience..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mark is so hospitable, warm and accommodating. He personally picked me up from the last ferry from Tahiti and then took me to a grocery store to buy groceries and food. He's passionate about ensuring his guests are fully taken care of and have the best experience. The houses are very well kept up, and they are so cheap given what you get. Bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms and the villa has a living room with an indoor/outdoor area. Bugs were not a problem (I visited in winter) but they were when I was in Tahiti. I surfed Teahupoo before coming to Mark's Place. However, Hapiti is a GREAT wave to surf. You take one of Mark's canoe's out and tie it up to a buoy and you have a perfect left with friendly locals and a deeper reef. It's a left that can barrel when it get's big. I met so many awesome travelers at Marks place. I traveled alone but would be awesome to go back with a significant other. Expect a calm relaxing getaway with great people and great hospitality. Thanks Mark!!!
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff were incredible friendly, kind and helpful! They went out of their way to ensure we had the best experience. Having free use of the bikes gave us some freedom to travel around. The grounds were very peaceful.
Cons: The mosquito nets on the windows had holes in them.
7.0 Good
Pros: Original
Cons: Bathroom entrance was outside of the room. Property is in the nature so be prepared for mosquitos and other insects. Old linen and towels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely property Mark wonderful host facilities great just looking up at the layers of green mountains and trees amazing. When I found out my place did not have washing machine Mark offered laundry service for a small fee. Wish I was there right now!
Cons: Little lizard joined me in bed but another bed available in same room so we peacefully coexisted. My scream may have scared people in the next little house. Perhaps the legendary lizard of Moorea blessing me with his presence.
4.3 Okay
Pros: N/A
Cons: Just for context, I’m a 40-something year old guy who has spent a lot of his life travelling and living in many different countries. I’m quite flexible in my travel style. Mark’s Place is very strange. Mark denies being Mark (not just to me but, to other guests also). What’s that all about? Why do that? He says he’s just a guest so, even though he’s always there lurking around, he does not engage with the ‘real’ guests, and will not help if you are waiting at reception clearly in need of something. He’ll just stand some distance away and watch instead. That means his partner is over busy trying to help everyone. My room was not a bungalow but, more of a lean-to construction built around Mark’s house. While I quite liked the quirky nature of this, there was zero soundproofing between the 2 spaces so, I heard everything that was done/said/thought by Mark and his family during my stay, and vice versa I assume. I didn’t like the location. There is one under-stocked shop within walking distance but, otherwise nothing. You will need at least a scooter and more likely a car to exist here. Also, although there are kayaks, it’s not a very beautiful part of the lagoon out in front. I booked and paid for 2 nights at Mark’s Place but, I left after 1 night. Life is too short to bother with unnecessary impoliteness. Just don’t go there.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A quirky house that made us feel like we were truly experiencing Moorea. The host, Mark, was welcoming and knowledgeable of the things we wanted to do. It was a quiet setting with lots of green around. Thank you Mark for your hospitality.
6.8 Good
Pros: Nice and quiet lovely setting
Cons: Isolated no places to eat decent beach 3km away need a rental car to be able to get around which is expensive You need good protection against mosquitoes
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Surf right out front. If you’re on a longboard or a SUP you can paddle straight out, if not there’s kayaks to use. Nice to be out of the hotel and tourist hub. Mark and his family were so friendly and helpful. Mauruuru Mark’s Place!

7.5 Good
Cons: They could have had happy hour for sunset.
7.0 Good
Pros: Close to beach & sunset restaurant
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The amount of space for our family was great. It was nice to sit on the large deck outside, too. The sunset views were spectacular from the beach!
Cons: A few more options for breakfast. The buffet was exactly the same every day. The roosters crowing early in the morning was frustrating, though I realize the resort can do nothing about this. I’m sure it’s an issue all over Moorea.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable property. I would definitely recommend a unit with air conditioning. The property is very well-maintained, nice beach and just a great way to end a Tahiti cruise. It is very well managed. Good beach and decent restaurant on the property. Other food choices within walking distance.
Cons: A few mosquitoes at night so come prepared.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a nice self contained bungalow. The property was in a good location with other options for meals and supermarkets within easy walking distance. Nice beach area for morning walks.
Cons: Interupted sleep due to the dogs barking and Roosters crowing every night.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location, view of lagoon, beach and snorkling very easy to walk to. Restaurant food was very good, sunset bar beautiful. Shops only short walk and plenty of other restaurants nearby.
Cons: THE ROOSTERS. They started at 4am every morning we were there. Our bungalow being at the end of the hot water line meant we got only warm water for showers. They did check it out but no change to the temperature .
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Need a tv in room.
6.8 Good
Pros: Very Spartan but clean.
Cons: Poor lighting in room. Poor ambience. Stark. No table in room to dine.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The food is excellent, that is the only good thing there, the beach is also very good.
Cons: All of the other things are so bad that I was waiting the moment to get out of that place. The wifi was unexistent, the rooms were full of bugs and noises, and the personal, I haven't seen such a careless and desinteresed hotel personal in mu life. They don't give a dam about your necesities, your confort and your pleaseant. In my first night there was a BIG spider on my room and I am arachnophobic so you will see. The price is simply RIDICULOUS for that kind of a place. Wifi was so bad that I have to go to a restaurant next to the hotel to use theirs. The bungalows are open on the roof so you can hear EVERYTHING like childs, bugs, birds and cars passing by. Some of the doors didn't work and the windows were dusty and full of spiderwebs, they don't care about the cleaning of the rooma at all. Like I said before, the personal doesn't care about you, they don't bring you any services and their attituted sometimes is very rude. They changed my bungalow (the one with the big spider) to another one but the next day I had a tour at 7 am and a lady at 6:45 get to my door telling me I have to change to another bungalow, even she was watching that I was getting ready for my tour, she wanted me to pack all my stuff and bring them to the main reception, I mean...why she didn't told me that the night before? At last, this was one of the worst places I have ever stayed and definitively doesn't worth the price at all, such a shame.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: beautiful location, right on the beach, restaurant also right there. Very private.
