9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel owner took us & another guest on an afternoon bicycle tour of his boyhood village; stopping several times for rests & also to educate us about the architecture of homes and the villagers lifestyles. He also arranged a private day trek, with guide, up into the valleys & villages of the Pu Luong Nature Reserve.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room, awesome view of the rice paddies from the balcony, proximity to rice paddies and local villages, free bikes for rent, free 2 hour bike tour included, great breakfast included in room rates, reasonably priced food & drink, friendly and helpful hotel owner & hotel staff.
Cons: Hotel is by the main road in Mai Chau, so it can get quite busy/noisy during the day if you wish to sleep in, but the noise gradually dies down as night approaches.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location. The possibility to rent a scooter. Helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast. Big room with a very good kingsize bed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff is amazing! The breakfast is exceptional and the whole experience is memorable. Great, great place!
Cons: Not enough water was coming out of the shower and there could be more options for lunch/dinner at the hotels restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was such a great hotel, in a breathtakingly beautiful area. The bed was huge and comfy. The food was delicious nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They arranged scooters buses and took me on a bike tour of villages for free
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Like others have mentioned, our guide book didn't speak that highly of Mai Chau, but I'm so glad we decided to stay here. First off, the view over the rice paddies from our balcony was so serene. The room and the balcony were beautiful, comfortable, and quiet. Wi-fi was fast enough to stream a movie. The complementary bicycle tour was excellent as well, we got to visit a White Thai family, and learn some about the culture, while seeing the beautiful scenery and agriculture. It was nice to have complimentary use of the bicycles throughout our stay too. All staff were very friendly, and helpful, and they assisted us in arranging a taxi to visit a tea plantation in Moc Chau. Finally, the food in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast, as well as other meals were prepared using all local ingredients. Banana blossom salad, spring rolls, and juices were all so fresh and tasty.
Cons: There were cobwebs on the ceiling, and there seemed to be hair from previous guests on the bed and floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: On the edge of the main town, so easy to get around as well as looking out to the beautiful rice paddies & countryside. Balconies were great and the staff were very attentive and lovely.
Cons: Some big trucks use the main road next to the hotel, but this didn’t affect our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best places we stayed at in Vietnam- spaceous and clean room with huge comfortable bed and balcony with view over the ricefields, lovley breakfast and lunch/dinner, and most of all the very friendly staff and owner. Cuong took us for a trekking tour in Pu luong wich was just great!! We will never forget this, lots of thanks to you!
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff - kudos to Mr. Duong and his staff. Great breakfast. Amazing views of Mai Chau Valley.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully situated good value hotel overlooking the rice fields and mountains. Very friendly helpful English speaking staff who can organize walking, cycling and motorbike tours around the neighborhood, to the Pu Luong national park, local markets and further destinations. Very nice food at the restaurant. Highly recommended.

Pros: Location is great and you can rent bicycles and motorcycles from opposite the hostel. The hostel serves incredible food and includes a free breakfast in the morning with a few different choices. The family that run the hostel are absolutely lovely and will do anything to help you! Me and my partner both work online and this wasn't a problem for the week we stayed here, internet was good and even in a powercut (rainy season) the family quickly sorted a back up generator to power the rooms! Would definitely stay here again!
10.0 Excellent

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Really nice stay for 1 or 2 nights! Dorms are simple, yet offer enough privacy. We had hot wter, and the hotel has emergency electricity. Restaurant is a little bit pricey, but serves nice quality food. A nice stay :-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice place in a super beautiful, chilled and quiet area. The staff were very helpful & friendly.
7.5 Good
Pros: We have been (we are a couple) in the shared room, but one night we only shared with a boy and other we have been alone :) Shared room is basic as you can see in the pictures but clean, and also bathroom are clean but are in the ground floor. Mosquito net are in good condition and each bed has its own fan. The structure is also a bar/restaurant with a free pool table. Food is very very good! We had breakfast (included) and we had lunch and dinner there. Very reasonable prices but high quality food! One of the best places where I have eaten in Vietnam!
Cons: They only have one bicycle (that you need to rent...By 30K). Anyway there are shops where you can rent more bicycles by 50K.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and in a great location
Cons: The staff wasn’t all that friendly, I felt like we weren’t wanted there. We ordered food and tried to talk with them and they were ok to make us food but they didn’t seem happy about it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing and included in price

Pros: Attitude of the owners. Amazing service. Rich breakfast and dinner. Spacy rooms.
Cons: Hard bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautifully located homestay with the friendliest family who ran the place. They served delicious food and provided bicycles as well as mopeds. The also arranged a really great performance of the traditional dance by local people which was lovely and we got to try some rice wine after! Thank you!
Cons: Nothing!
7.0 Good
Pros: Great breakfast, amazing trekking tour of the rice paddies and lovely home-cooked lunch!
Cons: Staff didn't communicate very well when we arrived, and were difficult to find when we had questions/issues .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very spacious, clean and with plenty of natural light. The owners were very friendly and the food served was very generous and delicious. (they prepared a meal for us even though we arrived past the dinner time) Free bikes available to ride around the town. Highly recommended.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great view from the family room, mountains, green fields
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A lovely welcoming family, that made me feel right at home and helped with anything I needed - food, buses and just being kind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful stay ! The owners of Eco Homestay are soooo nice ! It was our friends 25th birthday and we told them on the morning... On the night, they brang us a huge cake
6.3 Good
Pros: Great location for exploring mai chau! Delicious food, the vegetarian food was so nice and authentic and great value for money!! The owners are so helpful and lovely, gave me a bicycle tour around the village which was so worthwhile. Also helped me with arranging transport to Pu luong as I didn’t come here as part of a tour. Sweet dogs and children playing, nice atmosphere.
Cons: Only big downside is that I couldn’t sleep! Probably just my fear of bugs... but I felt quite paranoid and insecure as I was the only guest staying in the dormitory that night and it was quite spooky... no lock on the door and lots of lizards crawling around. Cockroaches and also a bird roosting in my room... honestly didn’t sleep for more than an hour, but I guess I cant complain as this is value for money of course and nice to be “at one with nature”! Also very loud fan that I had to keep on as I had a sleeping bag liner and extra mosquito net for my fear of bugs hahaha. Hard uncomfortable futon bed too, but this is the type of accommodation that I paid for so I don’t mind.
Mai Chau Ecolodge - Mai Châu - Building
4
8.8 Excellent (842 reviews)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: My (adult) daughter and I had such a lovely stay here. The staff could not do enough for us, they were so helpful. We learned a lot about Vietnamese, Tai and other local cultures. We took a cookery class which included an early morning cycle ride to the Sunday market which was a real eye-opener! The cookery class was great fun (with lots of laughter) and an excellent introduction to the local food culture. The location of the lodge is just beautiful, we really enjoyed late afternoon evening cycle rides through the ricefields, and visiting nearby villages. Then there was the delicious food, huge breakfasts, the swimming pool, and the massages at the spa … I could go on. Everything was really good and I’m already planning to return when I visit Vietnam again next year.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: What a great place to stay, everything was perfect! Outside shower. We even got an upgrade for the kids so they would be closer to our room. Fantastic. Thanks team.
Cons: Nothing. Maybe one advice, please turn down the lights in the evening at the diner location. They are quite bright and if you are an eco lodge, this helps save power. Also please buy led lamps. They also save power. But all was great!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Super location. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Room was interconnecting so great for our family.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I had the most amazing experience at Mai Chau Ecolodge! Our room was beautifully situated with exquisite views of rice fields and the mountains. The staff were very friendly, food was great...overall relaxed atmosphere and we really enjoyed our stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is fabulous, facing rice paddies and green lush hills and mountains in the background. The Ecolodge itself is beautiful and mixes well with the local style of buildings. The focus on environmental impact is welcome at this day and age. There are displays of local dances and ceremonies every evening in front of the main building. This was my second stay here and the displays are now very elaborate, which shows their commitment to showing local Mai Châu minority culture.
Cons: As of July 2019 the available bikes need a bit more maintenance. They are getting a bit of old and falling apart, although that does not prevent anyone from having a great time! On the plus side there is a number you can call if you have a problem with them anywhere in the valley.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location in the middle of rice fields is really nice Really good and kind staff Amazing food
Cons: Some customers were really noisy (groups of Vietnamese people) around the pool - staffs should have say them to be more quiet. Knowing that it’s supposed to be a calm and relaxing place.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Food.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the location is fantastic
Cons: Chairs on the deck aren't very comfortable which is a shame as the view is gorgeous.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, this defines this place. All the rest is sell cared but quite average
Cons: Staff banging the door waking up the guest too early ( 7:30 am) to give back the laundry, staff again phoning for breakfast to early.... seems that staff needs to have a vacation to know what it’s supposed to feel. Local guests drunk and spitting in the common pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A real ecolodge where the design and rooms are really local. We got free upgraded to the only president suite of the place. Nice services and well cleaned.
Cons: Really nothing!
Mai Chau Lodge - Mai Châu - Outdoors view

8.8 Excellent (281 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Mai Chau Lodge in Mai Chau, you'll be steps from Mo Luong Lake and a 1-minute drive from Ban Lac Village. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I am from Belgium using a Vietnamese number. So: The staff. (Linh was super sweet) The pool. The beds!
Cons: When hearing that we could book an extra night via booking.com for far less than the offer of the hotel the room suddenly mysteriously was no longer available at the cheap rate after a few minutes. We have had the same experience elsewhere in Vietnam where the management tries to ..funk.. you over by closing the room on booking.com when you mention it. Never mention you have a better rate on booking without having you finger on the last button to confirm. It feels sour when a company looks at customers like that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mai Chau Lodge has been our favorite stay in Vietnam. The rooms are spacious, quiet and well maintained. The decorative style reflects the area. We ate in the restaurant daily overlooking the lotus and lillies. The pool is clean and bikes are well maintained and free. All the staff have been so helpful and happy. We extended our stay here.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Mai Chau is amazing, and this hotel is a really nice experience. It fits perfectly into the valley, the staff is helpfull and smiling, the area is wonderful.
Cons: The hotel is located right next to the central road in the valley, so there is a lot of noise from cars driving through.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the whole experience
Cons: Everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is calm and peaceful. Location is great, being only a 5-10 minute cycle from two picturesque villages. Overall, we had a relaxing, enjoyable time.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Comfortable room. We have been offered the room with the balcony instead of the one booked - that was nice
Cons: Guests allowed to smoke cigarettes during breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly and helpful! Breakfast is good. The rooms have a nice view on the mountains. We used the free bikes a lot to explore Mai Chau and get some snacks and do laundry in the near villages. The pool is almost a must in this area because of the permanent heat. Mai Chau is a nice break from busy Hanoi. Recommend.
Cons: The bathroom could use an update.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location is good - near a little street with a market, shops and food. The period when I was there, the lodge was not very crowded so it was good as well. The walking tour was also very good - we enjoyed that very much.
Cons: I stayed in December 2018. The entire lodge was very dirty and dusty. I understand that it’s a not city level cleanliness and did not expect such, but when I have to clean off lizard poo from the chair cushions every morning before breakfast, or when the toilets have a very strong smell of animals for whatever reason, or when the room floors are sticky and oily, one can’t help but wonder at the level of cleanliness the lodge chooses to maintain. It made the stay very unenjoyable and uncomfortable as I was constantly having to look out for where I walked and sat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were wonderful and the location was great to take bike rides around the paddy fields and nearby villages. Lovely pool and restaurant. Breakfast was nice with both Vietnamese and western options. Included in the price was a cave tour which was really interesting. Hire a motor scooter nearby and go exploring.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was adequate and fresh.
Cons: Restaurant priceses were very high. Shouldn't offer cooking classes if its not something that you are set up to do.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service
Cons: No
7.0 Good
Pros: The accomadation is super cute as we stayed in one of the cabins - it has a great shower and comfy bed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The area is very peaceful.
Cons: The accomadation is an extra 40 minutes drive from the main city centre of Mai Chau. The pool was also a murky green colour and put us off from using it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A good place to stay. Trung and his family were very kind and helpful.
7.5 Good
Pros: Both mornings that we were there I did not eat breakfast, but my husband and children had no complaints.
Cons: Grilled chicken took an hour to get prepared and arrived rock hard.
7.5 Good
Pros: good location / clean bedroom
Cons: no communication at all with the staff (before and during). We were in Mai Chau around 9 pm and it was absolutely impossible to contact the hotel. 2 wrong phone numbers (old staff not working for this hotel anymore) on booking and facebook. We tried to contact them via Messenger, via booking, no reply... no help at all for transportation and the same to leave the hotel. on the front door, there is a sign saying "free shuttle" but when we asked, everybody was "busy". We just wanted to take the bus 2 kilometers away to avoid the taxi but no one helped us. We had no dinner for one night because at 9pm again, everything was closed and it's a very isolated place. PLEASE COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No choice for breakfast, pretty bad quality though...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We liked the bungalows on stilts as it made the hotel fit in well with its surroundings. We had a lovely stay and went for dinner and lunch next door to the mai Chau eco homestay which is highly reccomended. We also liked that there were no tourists around and it was in the middle of no where and far from any loud cars or tourists.
Cons: Be prepared as the hotel is 22km from mai Chau town and you need to organise transportation in advance to reach it. It is in nature so the occasionally bug or insect can get into the room but the hotel beds have mosquito nets so you can sleep peacefully with the AC.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Calm, traditional bungalows, located outside of mai chau, nearby risefields.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful location in a beautiful village, away from the very touristy bits of Mai Chau (some people may find it a bit isolated, especially if they are using public transport.) Beautiful gardens and swimming pool to relax in. Excellent food!
Cons: No locks on the bungalow doors (Although i'm sure their is no crime in this area!)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was gorgeous, spacious, clean and tasteful. We loved the free bicyles and motorbikes for exploring as it was quite far from the main area of Mai Chau. The buffet breakfast was great, the set menu dinner option was very good value and very tasty..... the fried spring rolls were also delicious.
Cons: Too many children guests and nowhere to sunbathe...

Cons: Once the clear up the kayaking beach area it will be world class. It’s only newly opened so still working. Kayaking the lake was awesome though visiting near by fishing floats was cool.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location superb, staff very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Very expensive restaurant and worse quality than any local street food. Disappointing. Very limited selection of alcoholic drinks. Too isolated a location to go elsewhere. Could do with providing other activities, games room etc.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The views
Cons: The pool was not clean and no spa as advertised - we were really looking forward to that in such a beautiful setting
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This amazing place should reach the 5 stars very soon, and when the littles improvments will be done, they will deserve it largely. Boat tours, Swimming pool and restaurant with lake view are wonderfull Special thanks to Tonny and their nice manager.
Cons: They are in the process to change the cook Great decision.

Cons: Although is one of the good things (isolated from the world) The way to the resort is not very comfortable

Cons: Not easy to get to but worth it
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The new manager was fantastic, I had a problem and he helped me resolve my transportation issue with the motorbike and travel. They even had time to support my local sight seeing when I had not pre-booked everything. Note: The location is remote and you get to experience the true hide away experience.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, clean air, beautiful lake, friendly staff
Cons: No shade around the pool... in a tropical country... a few parasols would make wonder:)

Pros: The room was fabulous, location was fabulous, breakfast was just okay. Staff were very helpful and welcoming.
Cons: Breakfast was disappointing. staff did not seem to be interested in clearing tables or refreshing breakfast items. I know we are in Vietnam but is would be so nice to have good hot western coffee in the morning. Warm to cold very strong Vietnamese coffee with UHT milk just doesn't do it.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, views, facilities
Cons: Need to improve the information provided by the Reception.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: location
Cons: food at the restaurant including breakfast very bad comparing to other places. Difficult to communicate
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Mai Chau is very beautiful, you can sit in they hotel and watch people work in the rice fields and see a great view. We took the bicycles to go into town and buy fruits and meet locals. Our hotel room was large and comfortable.
Cons: We had dinner in the hotel as it was dark and we were too tired to find another place to eat. I wouldn’t reccomend eating in the hotel as it costs a lot more (2-3 times more) than in any of the homestays around it. The bathroom was a bit basic and did not have much ventilation therefore didn’t smell great.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: View from room is amazing! Clean room, comfy beds. Nature lovers will love this place. Great service with friendly staff! Trekking tour by Son is enjoyable ! Will recommend !!
Cons: Buffet food spread can have more variety.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our time at this homestay was absolutely perfect. The room was very big and comfortable, beautiful view out over the rice paddies. The family was very helpful, friendly, and wonderful. The food was incredible, and and there was lots of it. This was the best place we have stayed so far in our vacation.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very stylish accomodation - you will just love it. Great view also! Must recommend a dinner - for 100k VND one of our best feasts in Vietnam.
Cons: Very hard matresses and noisy animals in the morning are not very helpful for the best sleep :D But still was worthy to visit.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The view Location Clean Lovely staff (despite language barrier)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Extremely welcoming family in a beautiful location at the border of the village with a view into the rice fields. Everyone tried their best to make us feel at home. Also, best dinner we had in Mai Chao! Great value for money, exactly as advertised in the pictures.
Cons: There was a rooster very close to our room, so bring ear plugs ,-)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We slept in a authentic wooden house just next to the rice fields. Beautifull quiet place. They rent bycicles so you can explore the suroundings. Good breakfast, lovely family. It’s located in pom coong where you can find good food.
7.0 Good
Pros: nice location in a tourist village
Cons: it was very noisy as there were a party of children staying who were up all night talking... the bathroons were clean but very basic with broken fixtures and fittings
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything, from the location to the host. The room is simple and comfortable and the breakfast is very tasty. I would totally recommend it!
Cons: Nothing to complain about. You might take into consideration the heavy rains in the night, they might be disturbing if you are too sensitive.
6.8 Good
Pros: Staying at a traditional house. The area under our house, specially the one with the bamboo furniture. The rooms were quiet and clean. Breakfast was very good. I like the fact that the owners are the ones benefiting from the guest house business and not particular enterprises. They only need better training to improve the quality.
Cons: The bathing and toilet area was occupied by several belongings and things that seem were left there long time ago. The counter area in the dining rooms was in complete disorder. In the pictures it looks as there was a wider green area but it is covered with concrete. It would be better if they use ceramic tiles as below one house instead of concrete pavements. Plastic chairs do not match the traditional life style of the beautiful local dwellings.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Check in was fast, staff was friendly and treated me to a lovely cinnamon coffee for free. I stayed in a double room which was huge and airy. It overlooked a small pond. Shared toilet and bathroom were super clean and always available. The bed was a traditional mattress on the floor but I found it very comfortable. It had an overhead net to protect from mosquitoes and it worked very well. The young woman speaks good English, gave me a map, answered my questions, invited me to lunch, and did everything to assist me without being intrusive. Breakfast was also very good- fresh fruit, coffee/tea and an a la carte option of eggs or noodles or pancake, etc.
Cons: The house is very traditional which would normally be both romantic and healthy, and not so good if you are spoilt by civilization. Just be aware you will need to climb down steep stairs in the middle of the night to go to toilet, plus it might be chilly at night. Luckily it was warm when I stayed. The bedsheet was clean and fresh, not sure about all the pillowcases though. Also, like in Cambodia, here too blankets had no sheet, i.e. they are shared with the many guests before you. Also be aware that a lot of Vietnamese visit the place for the w.e. so if you are there on a Friday or Saturday evening you might find yourself with local tourists who go in groups and speak very loud by European standards, trying to outshout their own music played on Bluetooth loudspeakers and thinking that everybody around needs to share their taste for music. But to be fair, I think I heard the host asking them politely to hush because by 11 or 12 midnight the noise subsided. Finally, maybe it was due to the weather on that particular day but being a stilt house and thus without glass pane, roof is kind of open, etc, all the smoke from burning rice straw?? from other households in the village came into the house, as did the early morning smoke from fire built to cook for the day. This is however not a criticism to the Homestay.

7.0 Good
Pros: - ac worked well - big bathroom - room was spacious enough for two - lady was friendly, recommend having google translator though as not much English (which didn’t bother us)
Cons: - bed was super hard, and it was made worse by the fact that we had ridden our motorbikes to get here.. but regardless they are rock hard so bare that in mind if it would cause you to struggle to sleep - not heaps going on in the town but it’s kind of nice to be in a local area and not be surrounded by tourists (also that is no fault of the hotels)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hospitality, breakfast, location, cleanliness.
Cons: Beds were on the firm side but hospitality was amazing no complaints.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Owner was friendly and helpful eventhough she couldnt speak English. Place was clean and rooms were spacious
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice place - typical small, yet new hotel with basic rooms. Staff do not speak any English, so bring data for translation on your phone, or a phrasebook. The hotel is fairly close to the valley villages and away from the crowd. Nice spot! Simple and good value for money.
Cons: Terrible noise from guests next door. The staff spoke zero English and we couldn't appear to order food/ drinks without great confusion. Otherwise not bad.
7.5 Good
Pros: The place was clean and the room was spacious.
Cons: The staff was friendly but couldn’t speak a word of english. So they couldn’t help us with tips for visiting the region.
4.5 Okay
Pros: large clean room
Cons: Bed was hard. Maybe ok for young people. Very noisy from road traffic starting at 5am and other hotels. No choice at breakfast. Photos are old and is rundown now. No garden to sit in. No bar or shared kitchen made available
5.8 Okay
Pros: The staff was wonderful! The helped us so much. I was ill when we stayed there and they helped us in any way they could. I don't recommend the room but the staff was the best!
Cons: The room was ok overall but the mattress was horrible. The location is far from the tourists zone. The price wasn't worth the room
7.5 Good
Pros: Solid house, good location.
Cons: Pleasent Lady in the reception, but she don't english.

7.0 Good
Pros: The Hotel is in a good location. We had a large room. Nice view from the room.
Cons: The standard isn’t quite what you would expect from the pictures on the internet. The hotel is comfortable. The hot water in the shower ran out after one shower, the basin in our room was cracked, some tiles are cracked, some walls are stained (perhaps water stains), the air con prabably needs regassing. Overall; however, for a one night stay it was comfortable. The bed was firm, but comfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Set in a small village away from a busy road, this small hotel looks over the padi fields and mountains. Our room (5) was large with a lovely patio area. However,it's proximity to other houses in the village meant it was not as tranquil as we'd hoped.Loud music woke us up every morning and during the day construction work added to the noise. The staff were friendly and it's in a great location for walking or cycling through the beautiful rice fields.
Cons: noise
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The hotel seems to be abandoned... The hotel has no maintenance... staff doesn't speak English (few words only). The bathroom is in a very bad situation, dirty bedsheets, worse breakfast I've ever seen in a hotel.

Cons: The hotel is run down and rooms are dirty.

Pros: Individual bungalow with comfy beds and mosquitos nets. Great pool and a very friendly and helpful owner. Excellent dinner and wonderful family party with traditional dancers, we all tried the stick dance which was so much fun.
Cons: No fridge but they do give you lots of ice to have in your beer. They keep your passports so we had to wake them up when we wanted to leave.

Cons: People and with our
6.3 Good
Pros: Excellent staff, woman running the place was extremely helpful and cooked us an amazing meal for just 100,000 dong each (a lot of food). Lovely view of the rice fields and surrounding mountains. Right next to lac village and Mai Chau town. Easy to find restaurants though would recommend eating at the Homestay. Able to hire bikes for free which was a nice way to look around the surrounding villages, also hired a moped to explore further. Village festival happened to be on while we were there as it was the weekend, just 2 minutes up the road.
Cons: Lots of insects (though there are mosquito nets provided) and huts showing a little wear.
7.5 Good
Pros: The best fried egg I have tasted in last 10 years combined with smiling and service minded lokal people. Its a wunder place for people that want to live and breathe lokal Vitnam. Its different, its cool, and its a experience.
Cons: Given the circumstances there is nothing I dont like about the Farmstay. Its a real backpak place an real back pack people will love to stay here.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: +beautiful village, calm neighbourhood +spacious bungalow with a comfy bed, small balcony overlooking fields +nice owner, lady speaks just few words of english +fried eggs with toast, coffee/tea for breakfast +description and pics are suitable of what you get :) +reasonable price
Cons: -although it was all safe ,the locker for the door was very provisional (so that you could close it, but anyway the space between the bamboo door and the bungalow was big enough to fit a person in between)
9.3 Excellent

8.3 Excellent
Pros: We were very well looked after
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The shower jet was strong. There was a window in the bathroom and in the bedroom.
Cons: It was an unpleasant experience, to be honest.. When arriving at the room, my partner and I noticed that the room wasn't even properly cleaned. A used glass and an open water bottle were still standing next to the bed. The blanket was used and also smelled so. There was a bin in the bathroom that was filled with water (probably to soak the organic leftovers in there). The toilet seat was covered in dark grey spots and the inside of the toilet was brown. Also, there was just a tiny bit of toilet paper left and the bathroom shelf wasn't clean. The bathroom door was mouldy. The mattress was extremely hard. You might compare it to sleeping on a wooden board. The air out of the air conditioner smelled bad. It seems like the filter had never been changed. The owners can't speak English (apart from the woman who was only there when we checked in). We had to communicate through google translate. In the late evening/night (until 11pm/12am) and in the early morning (from 6/6.30am) the owners didn't pay any respect to their sleeping guests. They slammed doors several times, yelled and stomped through the staircase and listened to loud music. At 6.30am someone was hammering on the top floor of the house (where the owners live) to repair a window. One evening, someone tried to get into our locked room while we were inside for whatever reason. When mentioning this straight away to the owners, they said that it was probably just a drunk guest...(Which we still think was highly unlikely as we saw no other guests around)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is so great. Good address for you to choose a resting place in Mai Chau. thanks Hoang sa I had a very happy vacation. see you again
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing specially
Cons: - nobody cames to welcome us - dirty bedroom - bathroom disgusting and nasty - there was no wall plug. Well...there were 3 but they didn't work. - there was a tv, but there was no place to plug it (even if it wasn't important to us, it's a offer service that was not functional)
