Hotel room was very cold, central heating was not working, the two electric heaters were inadequate. We we upgraded to a better room which had three single beds and a double, the room was large but very very cold. The only mirror in the room was 3ins x 3ins - totally inadequate and the hotel was unable to provide another.
Lovely family run inn - very friendly and helpful staff.Cracking homemade sandwiches for the walkers! Thanks to all for a great stay.
Food was nice Very dated decor and terrible shower, no water pressure and no hot water for an evening shower.
The hotels location is very good and we particularly enjoyed the food which was excellent. Unfortunately the room was only average even though there were few other guests at the time of our stay. The room was dissapointing and insufficiently heated at a vey cold time. Room comfort is essential for the time of year.
The hotel is a grand old bulding in a lovely location. Staff work hard to please. The Falcon is tired and needs a facelift. Its staff also seem tired! and work hard to provide a decent service but seem to be struggling. Restaurant service was poor; dinner cuisine was average. our experience was lifted by being allocated a handsome and spacious four-poster bedroom at regular rate which made our stay enjoyable above all!
The location, of course, and the genuinely helpful staff
food fantastic, staff brilliant room neds freshening up, a l;ittle drab, but didnt spoil our stay
Food was not enjoyable and the staff on duty for the evening meal were grumpy. Too many supplement prices on the menu.
very small and cramped room, restaurant staff were inexperienced
good size room good breakfast staff and breakfast had a very cold shower
The whole of our stay was excellent. The owners and staff made us feel very welcome. The meals and accomodation were first class. We look forward to staying again.
Its location was just what I wanted, being in the middle of the village and it offered car parking. The pub is old fashioned and had some wonderful features, it also had a nice bar with real ales which is something that I would look for in similar establishments. The room was available on our arrival which was also a bonus as we did arrive early. The food was nice and we ate in a nice dinning room away from the other side of the pub, it was warm, private, quiet also an added bonus. Otherwise there was the bar area which had a nice fire but was a bit busy if you wanted a quiet meal. The food itself was good, served well and hot, overall enjoyable and good value meal. The breakfast was also good, not over the top but ample for the type of acc It was a noisy hotel, when someone else showered the noise from the extractor or pump was really loud and would have woken anyone up; it was almost like a compressor. The noise from the bar at night was also quite loud, with some bad language (not good for young children) which could be heard in the early hours of the morning in the courtyard. I do realise that this is a country pub so its kind of to be expected in a way as the pub is in the centre of a village and its used well be the locals who keep it open. I did mention the noise from the showers and the courtyard to the manager who did agree with me about the noise, saying that he had also struggled to sleep a little but did say that he had a meeting with a senior executive.
the hot toddies and the lovely open fire. The breakfast and the service were top class. The friendly and helpful staff.
Sam is an excellent hostess. Very friendly throughout our stay and pays a lot of attention to the small things that make a difference.
Friendly atmosphere, well decorated, good breakfast, owner welcoming and helpful, lovely location with good walks from the door. I thought the bed was a bit soft
Our whole experience at this Bed and Breakfast was delightful......but that's exactly what Warren House is, a B and B. Don't expect swimming pools or spas, Sam the owner is brilliant, a real people person. She cooks breakfast in an AGA and it is a complete meal that leaves you feeling well fed for the day. We will certainly be back for yet more short breaks, delightful house, delightful lady and set in a wonderful scenic location.
The room was charming and the living room was very comfy. Sam and John are very welcoming hosts and the breakfast was excellent (so much that we did not have to eat until late evening. We are tall and the bed was a double - we had to snuggle whether we wanted to or not! But, we would stay there again because the rest of it was so charming.
Homely, very friendly owner, made to feel very welcome, very well situated for Southern Yorkshire Dales, excellent home cooking (breakfast). None
This is a really wonderful place and it was great staying here. Especially the friendliness of the owners and the outstanding breakfast deserve being mentioned. We certainly intend to come back!
Very welcoming owner who served excellent breakfasts in a relaxed friendly atmosphere in her family home. The bedroom was quite small but adequate for a short stay.
What made our stay extra special was John's help in collecting us from Kinsley in his 4 by 4 as we could not get to them in our car due to flash floods
The Welcome was second to none,The Breakfast was about the Best i,ve tasted, and the owner goes out of there way to please
we found the the hotel very comfortable and the owners helpful, also pleasant. Breakfast was excellent and we would recommend this hotel to our family and friends.
