it central location the bed room could have done with a coat of paint
I went to a wedding at the Matara Centre about 20 minutes away. My Caesar salad was a bit odd tasting.
The staff were excellent. No ITV on the TV. No Harry Hill :-(
Historical feel and beauty of building. Lovely garden and patio. Excellent food. Very helpful staff sensitive to requests. Location adjacent to such an important but less-wellknown historical site such as the abbey.
I want to put "the day when we came home............" But feel thats a little unfair as staff were very efficient and did their best to address any concerns nice hotel for a couple of nights if you are sight-seeing. Bedroom very small, only a single wardrobe for a double room. Only 1 fan light window to open, french doors looking out over car park locked, so room could be too hot in the summer. Bathroom so tiny that I burnt myself on towel radiator when drying myself. We were offered another room which was up several flights of stairs which we turned down. Staff did try their best to help. Tv channels didn't match remote controls although the welcome folder did request that if there were problems with this then to ask for assistance from reception, small tv screen.
The relaxed ambience. The decor. Good breakfast. Location. Room was not ready on arrival. Food in the Brasserie was quite salty.
An excellent Hotel for aan overnight stay or weekend. A bit pricy but on the whole an excellent location and service there. Nothing
The staff were professional yet made us feel quite relaxed. There was a problem in the room next door at night at no-one was around who was able to help us. However, the daytime staff dealt with the matter promptly and pleasantly.
The friendly welcome, its courteous staff, and its great location.
The cleanliness of the hotel THE le mazot food was described as gourmet = not so in our experience. very disappointing quality, so glad we hadnt booked in the dining room restaurant as supposedly two star michelin rated food has never tasted so tasteless perhaps the chef was on holiday
The dinner in Le Mazot was excellent - the food was gorgeous and the service faultless. The gardens were amazing and the gardening team deserve a pat on the back for all their hard work. The spa was very ordinary and slightly scruffy in places and the staff in the spa were all very young and not of the same calibre as the hotel staff - their customer facing skills were non-existent compared to the staff employed in the hotel who were welcoming, accomodating, unobtrusive and very efficient. Also even though we were told we hade been upgraded to a superior room foc it was a very ordinary room and certainly nowhere near the luxury we were expecting.
Lovely staff, helpful, stunning location, welcoming, clean enviroment, fREE upgrade to deluxe room was very thoughtful and manager helped to arrange secret proposal to girlfriend over breakfast. £3 packet of standard size crisps??! Must check bill when checking out. Other reviews said to do this and ours was £150 over the top. Amended immediately though with no problems
Lovely spot, first visited 30 years ago, much smarter now and v elegent. No swimming pool
Glorious setting, magnifcent gardens, extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Interior of hotel stunning, including spa. Superb bedroom and bathroom.
Pure endulgence. Great location, best Spa ever, fantastic food. Very chilled atmosphere- nothing pretentious about this place. Highly recommended.
Outstanding gardens, friendly and helpful staff and excellent cuisine together with the leisure spa made for a memorable break
the ambience was very relaxed and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The spa was just perfect. loved everything
the spa was exceptionally good
attentive staff perfect!
Actractive appearance, lovely place to stop over and excellent food Room very nice but a little small and no shower
Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable accomodation.Restaurant meals excellent.
the staff were very friendly and the food is excellent our room 4 was a little small
food in the restaurant was lovely! no hot water for a bath in the evening - plenty the next morning though.
Everything except below Noise from the road outside
The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the room was stylishly furnished, spacious and comfortable, as was the bathroom. The food was very good and nicely served. The room lacked a comfortable chair, for which there was space, and there was no shaver socket in the bathroom.
excellent comfortable room, attractive decor especially bathroom. welcoming pub rooms and the food was second to none. total absence of hot water each morning- this is just not acceptable.
It was close to the Westonbirt arboretum We originally booked a superior double. There was a horrid damp patch on the chimney breast with paint and plaster peeling off. The room should never have been allowed to be used in that state. It smelt of damp. i did ask to have another room, we were given a suite in the new annex, which was good. However, there was a wedding reception on the saturday with loud music until midnight. Surely the hotel should pre-warn guests that such an event is taking place. We were loking forward to a quiet, relaxing weekend.
beautiful country setting, lovely grounds.
This hotel has been refurbished since our last stay, to a good standard, rooms very comfortable and pretty. Staff at reception consistently helpful. Food was of a good standard.....at the bar restaurant. We didn't have an evening meal at main restaurant so can't comment Breakfast very sparse if one didn't ask for full English. Toiletries were lovely Moulton Brown but there was no hair conditioner so easy to look a bit wild after hair wash!
Location - doggie walking facilities. Lovely suite and layout meant privacy with good access to the facilities. Choice of eating venue with great menu. Staff friendly and skilled
The friendleness and enthusiam of the staff, and the excellent facilities.
Hotel staff were polite and curtius. Room was comfortable, better than our previous hotel in Portsmouth - The Isis All day you could hear the background music from downstairs. Although it stops at around 23;00 hrs
The character of the building and the open fires on a cold November evening. The breakfast speed of delivery was a little slow - I would also have liked to have breakfast at 7.00am but they didn;t start serving till 7.30
the main hotel was lovely, the staff were helpful, the breakfast was very good the accomodation wasn't as nice as we were expecting, we were in a room in a cottage just outside the main car park.
i would and am returning. comes highly recommended. the staff had a sense of humour and allowed us to enjoy ourselves.
Excellent location, warm and friendly ambience without being too stuffy, romms very comfortable. Pillows could have been of better quality--bigger and softer Menu in main restaurant somewhat restricted for choice and quality ranged from excellent to a little disappointing
Sound proofing - babies very noisy in next room
Excellent facilities and very family friendly staff. Great value.
Good location, parking, large bed (but two put together), good local food Small bathroom, didn't realise it was so family orientated - lots of young children, environment felt quite sparse
Convenience of location for our requirement, and the friendly attendance of all staff.
Food, room and staff, all excellent Outside of the hotel looked a little dated, but looks were very deceptive. I have not really got anything bad to say about this hotel and would certainly stay here again.
The food in the evening was a very wide menu and well cooked and presented. Local produce was a good idea. There were no lounge facilities. It was more like a travellodge with good dining
Friendly staff, good meals
Excellent food. Innovative menu using local produce and very reasonably priced including the wine. Easy to find and parking available. Clean and friendly. King size bed very comfortable with good quality bedding. Nowhere to sit after dinner/or before you were either in your room or dining room. Breakfast did not live up to the boast of the hotel. Bathroom very small and insufficient toiletries.
Nice bed No residents bar
The warmth and comfort were made to feel important for us. We felt at ease and this made a hugeimpact on our stay. No complaints
Warm, cosy, clean, good food, friendly staff. Bed was not that comfortable. Probably due to poor quality of mattress.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Lovely relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel. Breakfast was good. Good sized room.
Nice quiet comfy rooms and pleasant staff. Limited menu choices if you were staying for more than 2 nights.
The food, as usual, was excellent and the staff were attentive and knowledgeable. A thoroughly comfortable stay. Having used room 5 for the first time, I found that there was plenty of space, for a standard room, although access to the shower cubicle was limited.
Friendly staff Lack of shower - bath not sufficient at this price level. Rather dated decor. Ill-fitting door allowed light in all night - could be easily overcome by curtain over door
We enjoyed the trip very much and your hotel was perfect for our requirements.Which was to relax and visit the Cotswolds and Bath. I have sent a seperate email with a question for you about the costs Everything was fine. one small problem was the car park was unlit at night. very dark..
The quality of the food and the restaurant in general was excellent.
Reasonable price, good location, TV good. Tiny shower cubicle with very narrow door.Very creaky floor in shower room. Reheated items on breakfast plate.
Cosy cottage room, everything needed was available including comfy bed.
the food no
This is a lovely boutique-style hotel. Would recommend the four poster room. Not much to do in the town, except sipping coffee and wandering around small designer shops, but conveniently located for trips out. Would definitely revisit.
Friendly and helpful staff None
Loved this hotel, it’s right in the centre of town and has a really great bar. The food was excellent, (try the crispy duck salad and the sticky toffee pudding) and my room was comfortable and really quiet with a big bathroom and a great shower. The staff were all very friendly and the owner was incredibly helpful lending me a tie which I’d forgotten. No parking at the hotel but that wasn’t a problem as I was shown where to park close by and didn’t have to pay.
Primarily the facilities, WiFi in the hotel rooms. Hotel staff was excellent, food great. I have no complaints about the hotel, although it is a bit pricey.
nice decore, excellent location, pleaseant environmentbreakfast good, newspapers to read, pleasant lounge I would have liked a mattress cover on the bed and not just a sheet. The mattress was clean but it would be nicer for future guests.
Dinner at restaurant good. Very friendly helpful staff. Great location in centre of lovely town. Parking was quite a distance for elderly parents but we could drop off cases in front of hotel. Secure luggage storage would be useful to save walking back long distance to long stay free car park (1/3 mile). Breakfast good but shame allowed to cool off before serving. Public areas towards back of hotel a little jaded, bedroom decor nice albeit needed detailed clean around edges.
Evening Meals were very good. Shortage of staff. Checking out meant that other guests were delayed with breakfast orders, as the waiter was also in charge of checking out desk. No Car Park.
A stylish hotel - gorgeous bedroom , delicious dinner and breakfast. Very poor shower.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The room was lovely and we felt at home. My wife and I found the bed uncomfortable in our suite, although we are used to a super king size at home.
We had a very enjoyable nights stay at the Ormond last week. Our bedroom was a good size, very light and airy & looked to have been recently decorated adjoining this was a large modern bathroom , all making our stay very comfortable. Downstairs there is a very cosy bar area and a beautiful courtyard garden , with many flowers and hanging baskets. The restaurant was another high point, incredible food (10/10!) and service was friendly and attentive. All in all The Ormond is a very stylish and comfortable hotel, staff all extremely professional and food first class....this hotel is extremely good value for money
We most enjoyed the friendly and interested welcome provided by the reception staff. Breakfast was also delicious and service was excellent. We would definitely stay again for Cotswold visit. The room was relatively small, but for the price it was excellent value.
breakfast was great. no satellite or cable tv.
Very warm and friendly, well equipped, excellent dinner and breakfast
Good location for where we wanted to visit TV didn't work in the lounge area of our room
i have stayed at this hotel often, and have always been pleased with each room i have stayed in. the little things like choices of tea's, plenty of coffee and sweets and biscuits in each room makes it more homely and welcoming. my last visit i had a bathroom with a window, as it was facing a busy road i did not feel comfortable using the bathroom with the window not being dressed, even though, of course, it was the window bubble glass.
The bedrooms were really lovely and homely and very comfortable. I loved Fred the Great Dane in the bar. The menu and food were of a very high standard. N/A
The location and the hotel was beautiful. We had such a relaxing time would def come again
good atmospere,good food,friendly staff
quiet and relaxed
A pleasant ambiance from the staff in this comfortable hotel. Just the place for relaxation in the Cotswolds miniscule portion of my kippers for breakfast!
very good atmosphere
Good choices of evening meals.
Not having a rigid start and finish time for breakfasts. The lighting in the bedroom was very poor - difficult to read. T.V.reception was poor and channels not tuned into a logical sequence.
The breakfast was both extensive and tasty and the bed was very comfortable. The ensuite shower was a little cramped and the address I had was listed as being in Tetbury, when it is definitely not.
The pub itself was lovely - extensive grounds, friendly and helpful staff, good beer. It was nice to be just next to our room. Excellent location for travelling around the south-west. The room was very pleasant and fairly comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Our room faced directly onto a main road which was extremely noisy and disturbed us throughout the early hours of the morning. The double bed was just two singles pushed together.
The staff were excellent, especially the male member of staff taking orders for breakfast on Sunday morning. Very cheery and helpful. There were spiders and other insects in the room, and the "wet room" style bathroom was extremely grubby.
the location was very practical as close to wedding venue. Sunday roast very good as was 'specials board' room offered poor value for money in comparison to similar venues we have stayed at. Only travel size kettle, no disposal facility for sanitary ware, no toilet roll holder, shower and surrounding walls in poor state of repair. Would not return or recommend to others
location food and food/bar service poor. Staff complaining about each other and management
The location was halfway between the places we wanted to visit. It was easy to find and a very convenient place to stay. The staff were friendly and tried to be helpful. Paint was flaking from the walls in places and it desperately needs renovation. We were brought our main meals before the starters, then had to wait while the starters were prepared. The meal was tasty but spoiled by the poor waitering.
