Marathopolis hotels

Pros: At arrival we were upgraded to a bigger room in the Artina Nuovo Hotel. This room was big, spatious and had a very nice little kitchen and bathroom. The view of the balcony was great! Location wise it was a great place. Restaurants and supermarkets in walking distance and an hour drive to the airport and several cultural, natural and historical sites to visit. The staff is really friendly and welcoming. The village is nice and quiet and so is the hotel. Really relaxing and with great beds and view! :) And also the breakfast is really nice, there is plenty of choice for everybody and it tasted great.

Cons: It is winter now, so the empty pool is sadly looking empty at us when we stand on the balcony. The rest of the view is great though.

Pros: Lovely little breakfast spread in the morning, great views of perfect sunsets from our balcony, and the pool was fantastic! However, the best part about our stay was the staff here. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful also. They have gone above and beyond. Thanks to you all!

Pros: Very friendly owners/staff. Very good breakfast with home made things (e.g. yoghurt). Excellent WiFi!!! Huge terraces for the rooms on the top floor!

Cons: The kitchen equipment is okay but not outstanding.

Pros: The location, right to the port and the sea, and the owners and staff, very nice and generous, were awesome. The appartment (Poseidonas) was very spacious, well furnished, with a huge terrace with seaview, a super-confortable bed and a nice fireplace. Some minor improvements would be nice, like wall painting and bathroom mirror replacement, but overall it is really beautiful and confortable.

Cons: Nothing, everything was just fine!

Cons: Be aware that although the hotel has an oceanfront location, the beach in front is not swimable due to sharp rocks

Pros: Hotel was great, comfortable rooms with plenty of space. The manager and staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Cons: We were a bit disappointed with the surrounding area. Marathopolis seems to be struggling, lots of over flowing bins around the place. Still worth a visit though to go to voidokilia beach, which is beautiful.

Pros: Overall room was really nice - new furniture, good kitchen. Very clean.

Cons: Breakfast was really in low level - omlet and cooked sausages were cold both days, the only hot dish were boiled eggs. Shower cabin needs renovation. Very bad noise isolation in rooms - we heard all what our neighbors were speaking and doing.

Pros: I loved this place:) me and my wife visit this place on our honeymoon. The staff was incredible, polite and very helpful. Excellent service at all time. Breakfast delicious. Can absolutely recommend this place. We are definetly coming back.

Pros: Breakfast was excellent both in premise and in content: a large open yard with tables on green grass and sea view. Selection of meals was great, including variety of Greek pastry and baked sweets. Nice authentic rural Greek small town surroundings with traditional tavernas with beautiful sea views. There are some few nice spots on the rocky shore with good descent into the sea great for swimming and snorkeling.

Pros: Very friendly staff, especially the chambermaids. Bed was comfortable and studio very spacious. Hotel Is wee situated with many restaurants within walking distance.

Cons: Toaster wasn’t very good at breakfast.

Pros: Very comfortable and clean rooms, quiet location. The owner Olga was very nice and helpful. Is worth for the price, I’ll recommend Messinian Horizons to my friends and we’ll definitely visit it again.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff; we lost a pair of swimming goggles over the balcony onto the roof of the cafe while we staying there, and the staff retrieved them for us. Abundant and very good breakfast. The room itself was very well furnished and kept. Balcony with a beautiful view to the island and the sunset. Marathopolis itself has some of the best restaurants on the waterfront that we’ve ever encountered in Greece. The restaurants alone make another visit almost mandatory. Obviously, we would stay at the Entheon Rooms.

Pros: Architecture is wonderful on the room level as well as on the resort level. The typical greek style stone and wood in well kept gardens with olive and palm trees, oleanders, patches of grass, swiming pools... The agora connects the central facilities, including big and small event halls, many restaurants etc. And then there is the great sand beach with crystal clear water, a beach restaurant, wind surfing, kiting and sailing facilities, and old castle in the walking distance. A wonderful place.

Cons: A bit more of ecological tuch related to the pools (like seawater) and food would be appreciated. All restaurants could be open throughout the day.

Pros: It was a small gift to my wife on the day of our 40th wedding anniversary, just one night in a luxury hotel during our tour of Peloponnese. When I informed the hotel about it, the hotel's public relations officer congratulated us and promised to arrange for a some kind of special reception on our arrival. We were very glad to receive: an upgraded quality room at the first line close to the beach with a private swimming pool, , a bottle of champagne in the cooler in the room, and nice greetings from the staff. MANY THANKS WESTIN RESORT NAVARINO! We' ll surely spend the 50th anniversary at your place!

Pros: Beautiful resort in the dunes. Breakfast with a fantastic choice. We had an upgrade to a junior Suite! Near to the most beautiful beaches of the world!

Pros: Resort is nice, one very nice pool, others ok..good beach situation, beautitiful gardens . Excellent bed ..However the enormous lack of light and gloomy atmosphere and one of the staff who misbehaved spoiled a lot.

Cons: ..However the enormous lack of light and gloomy atmosphere in the corridors at night makes it extremely difficlut to find room and restaurants in this huge labyrinth. Another personal problem was that after breakfast i had a serious intestine problem (diarrhee) due to something I ate at breakfast (bacon? pie?) or the night before with the Nargile restaurant where i had minced lamb. I informed the reception so twice No sign from the hotel to compensate in any way. (In other hotels we automatically had wine or a small bottle of olive oil. ) I underline that I, a world traveller, never have that sort of problem even in so called underdevopped" countries with modest restauran, neither nor during my whole 10 days Greek stay. The staff was globally very friendly. Unfortunately we had a problem with the luggage on departure at 2 Pm afternoon. At the reception the lady had already tried to get in touch with the porter, no answer (we said we would leave the room in 10 minutes). When we phoned from the room we had to do it twice, and wait a long long time, perhaps 20 minutes. Finally the porter, sort of a "wild"man, was aggressive and shouted at us and was extremely rude. Unbelievable. So price quality was bad: 360 E for 1 night!

Pros: Amazing place and wonderful staff. Highly recommended if you wanna have a holiday to remember.

Pros: I liked the facilities , the sport variety and the very good restaurants , especially the Japanese one . At this restaurant , the staff and the food was excellent and we went there 3 times . The cleaning lady was very good , speaking very good English and always smiling

Cons: I didn't like the change of the policy with regards to the pets ie that were not allowed at the restaurants and most importantly at the beach . I thought that Romanos is a dog friendly hotel but I was disappointed with the way that we were informed as nobody gave us a call before arriving to inform us on the changes of the rules . We were at your hotel for Easter and we didnot face any problem with our dog .

Pros: This is a beautiful resort within a beautiful area of Greece. Rooms are spacious, nice and comfortable, with a great outdoor space. Very nice breakfast in a loverly setting. Beautifully designed spaces to sit and have a cocktail or eat something (outside and inside). In general (with the exception of certain) staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This is a family resort, but to our opinion less suitable for couples.

Cons: Every day we found long black hairs in our room, presumably from the cleaning ladies. We absolutely don't mind paying for good food, but the restaurants are too expensive for the quality and service you get. We were not impressed. The central shopping and restaurant area where you find f.e. 'Souvlakerie' and 'The dinner' made me feel I was in Disney World; personally we did not like this area at all. The beds on the beach are way too close to each other. You have no privacy and space and you feel like sardines in a can. I had a full body massage and a facial at the 'award winning' spa, but ended up with a crust of blood on my noise for the next 5 days!!! She probably wasn't that experienced and unfortunately pressed a little too hard.

Pros: Great location right on a beautiful sandy beach. A good beach bar is located directly in front of the apartment. Opening hours for the beach bar are 10am to 7pm in shoulder seasons but it is open much later in July and August which could be noisy. Lovely helpful owner, spotlessly clean and well equipped for the price.

Pros: Very nice location directly at the sandy beach. Very calm in October, beach lonely at this time. Very kind people.

Pros: Location top, right on the Romanos beach there’s nothing nearer, nice wood dock patio to relax or enjoy the shade with view, away from the main villages but easily reachable in 10 minutes. Everything is right to spend some days surrounded by the good nature of this region in Greece. And in case the owner is on the place so you can always ask.

Cons: Nothing, they recently opened but everything’s fine. Maybe in the future I’d add a microwave as someone may need it and try to clean the room a little earlier.

Pros: My wife and I were at Artemis Suites for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed every single day of our stay: Artemis who was in charge during our stay was very nice and forthcoming. She would grant us any wishes that we might have and was also a very generous host. The beach right by Artemis suites is wonderful and not crowded at all, at least beginning October which is when we stayed there. Additionally, we also enjoyed all of the hikes that you can do in the area.

Pros: If you are fond of wild nature, quiet and privacy, this place is perfect for you! Wonderful giant sand beach (within 30 m from the apartment, longer than 3 km - see photos attached), with almost no people! You'll be more independent and mobile if you have a car - there are several other beaches around, and the supermarket is in the town within the reach of the car. But if you don't have a car you'll have a great stay as well - the hostess is super nice and helpful!! There is a beach bar with food and drinks right near the apartment, and on the other side of the beach there is a tavern. The apartment itself is built in the greek style, furnished with good wooden furniture, comfortable rooms arrangement, spacious bathroom, well equipped with kitchen- and tableware. There are mosquito nets on every window and on the door, a large wooden terrace with the view on the sea. The hostess welcomes guests with warmth and care. We loved our stay there and we are planning on coming back! :)
