Pros: The hosts Ito san and his daughter were very friendly and kind. They picked us up from Matsuzaki station. They gave us some home made tea as we arrived. They also allowed us early checkin as the room was free. The guesthouse itself was very neat and clean. Very nice room , all rooms here have AC and fan it was so good for summer. The bath and toilets were very clean. They offered bicycles for free and the Kitchen could be used by the guests. The Kitchen had water kettle, oven and other facilities. There is a common area to sit and relax. The location is close to Matsuzaki beach (5 min walk). Also plenty of restaurants ,family mart and a very nice bakery nearby. The house is 10 min walk from Matsuzaki station. Its a very convenient place to stay if we wish to explore South west of Izu. There are plenty of buses from Matsuzaki to travel towards Dogashima and Shimoda. Overall we are very satisfied with the stay and we had a great time here. A very nice experience of Japanese country side.
Cons: Nothing really, everything great.

Pros: The owner Nao-san is the most wonderful host ever- very kind and caring and went the extra mile to make our stay really special. The accomodation was spacious, comfortable and clean. We will definitely be back.

Pros: Nice dining room and tatami room. Bathrooms had new hardware and the house was very clean.
Cons: Parking was a bit of a challenge.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Guest House Itokawa is a fantastic little place to stay! The house is a wonderful little old-style Japanese place with a big kitchen, bathroom and common space on the first floor. The second floor has the 4 guest rooms - all tatami rooms with nice big windows. Each guest room has an AC unit and a fan so we were able to stay nice and cool in the summer heat! The futons are super comfy - loved the sheets! Nao, our host, was incredibly kind and very easy to converse with through booking.com when he wasnt at the guest house. He made suggestions on where to eat in the area and responded very quickly to any questions we had. Also, Nico, a staff member who checked us in was very sweet. The guest house is about 15 mins down the coast from Dogashima and about 50 mins away from Shirahama Beach. Absolutely wonderful place to stay! If I ever go back to the Izu Peninsula, I will be staying here again! Thank you Nao and Nico for our great stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ito gave us a ride to a beach in the south (nice wiew of mount fuji when the clouds decide to fade away) and sent us the bus timetable for the return. While he was away, the girl was also really helpful. Talking through phone translator is sometimes funny
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Had everything I needed, including laundry facilities. Room was private and spacious compared to other accommodations I had in Japan. Owner and daughter were very friendly and helpful. Pretty close to some beautiful beaches and scenery.
Cons: Bus service to location was very sparse, usually ended up walking from further bus station. Difficult to find open restaurants without very long walk or bus ride.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: - good atmosphere - you feel welcome there - the village with its surroundings is very interesting - walking distance from the bus station, to the main museum, other tourist attractions and to the beach - rent a bike for free
Cons: you should provide the breakfast by yourself (there is a nice bakery with and Italian name, near the beach, 7:30-17h)

Pros: Idyllic sea view, plenty of local amenities (supermarket, restaurants), bus stop for Shimoda less than 5 minutes walk away, a lovely 40 minute walk from Dogashima (they offered pick up but we decided to stroll along the coast). The outdoor private onsen was a charming and blissful surprise.
7.9 Good
Pros: The outside bath is nice.
Cons: Room had a not so good smell. The name of the place is quite misleading. Nothing really surfy about the place but good stay overall.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We loved the view of the sea and the beautiful outdoor onsen, which we could book out for private use. Really friendly and welcoming staff too.
Cons: If possible, cutting the overgrown area between the hotel and the beach would improve the view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super location, close to a beach, close to supermarket, close to bus stop. Very nice owners, good breakfast (served breakfast, no selection, but very good!). Comfortable beds, cosy room. Would go back any time, without hesitation!
Cons: There was nothing we didn't like
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice and clean the staff is friendly
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for visiting the west coast of Izu Peninsula. The room was quite small, but acceptable. Beds were very comfortable (hard mattress, which I like, but may be too hard for some). There was a microwave in the lobby, which was useful for heating up food. Appreciated having a refrigerator in the room, but it was quite small so we ended up buying ice from 7/11 to keep some of our food in our ice chest. The outside onsen was awesome, and so nice that it was a private onsen so that a couple can enjoy it together. Very convenient to have a grocery store and 7/11 nearby. I would definitely stay here again!

Overview Reviews
Visitors to Matsuzaki will find that the Nishiizu Matsuzaki Itoen Hotel is a fantastic accommodation choice. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is an older-style resort hotel on the beach at Matsuzaki. The Japanese-style tatami room was fairly large and comfortable enough, although, of course, one has to sit and sleep on the floor. The room was on the 8th floor, and the view of Sagami Bay and the sunset was spectacular. The staff was very accommodating, and the breakfast and dinner had a large selection. Finally, the price, including breakfast and dinner, was very reasonable.
Cons: Although the food selection at breakfast and dinner was quite good, the quality was a little sub-par.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My room is supposed to lodge three ladies. Turn out I was the only one using that room that day. It's a room not only with a view but also pounding wave. There is a lounge on the 10/F with panoramic view of the town and the shore.
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff are very helpful and sincere but they can not speak english at all. Every room has a sea view and the sunset scene is excellent
Cons: Daily cleaning services is not provided. Tax for onsen is charged but the facility is actually a simple and small public bath.
