Hotel Villa Seeschau - Meersburg - Building
1
9.1 Excellent (533 reviews)
Overview Reviews

5.4 Okay
Pros: Great breakfast, super nice & romantic views and a very good and quiet location on top of the hill in Meersburg. The "grandma" who welcomed us was extremely friendly and supportive.
Cons: The price was way too high for such a hotel. There was no complimentary water on the room which I surely expect at such high room charge (i.e. most 5* hotels offer free water and charge less for their rooms). The room was very small. The parking was charged extra and we had to pay the parking charge in cash (no credit cards allowed).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the Grand Suite which was amazing. The bathtub was nice and big and we tried the sauna out once. The wine/beer fridge in suite was also handy, as long as you pay attention to what bottle costs what =) Italian place 5 min walk away.
Cons: The patio off of the Grand Suite is literally right below the breakfast area so you kind of feel like you're on display if you go out in the morning. And the shower seemed a bit larger in the pictures ;) There's not a ton to DO around Meersburg (Mainau was nice) but that wasn't really a concern of ours.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, friendly staff, quiet location. Perfect for chilling out. Hardly saw any of the other guests and the sun loungers and hot tub were free the vast majority of the time.
Cons: Could have been more choice at breakfast and air conditioning in the rooms.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly welcome and good information on arrival. Great Breakfasts and much appreciated tea/coffee and cake available in the afternoon Perfect location - quiet, close to town even if there are a few steps to deal with as the town is on a steep hill - wonderful views of the lake and town.
Cons: Music in the dining area - too musak like for my taste and didn't add to the atmosphere. Being informed in room blurb that I had to be out of the room from 10.30 to 14.00 nfor cleaning seemed a little officious. Think parking fee is a bit much given the price of rooms
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous place, great location, wonderful staff
Cons: I did not realize I had to check out in cash.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: excellent location. Room small but comfortable. Breakfast excellent. Only disappointment - nowhere easily available to sit down comfortably. As the weather was poor during our stay having somewhere to relax in the hotel would have been an advantage. Would certainly recommend - and with good weather and excellent retreat and location
Cons: see aboce
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spotlessly clean, lovely room with patio. Views over vineyards to lake.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel located on hill. Hotels itself offers nice architecture and fine deco interior design. View from my room window is absolutely amazing.
Cons: If it must leave suggestion, I’d like to recommend it offers customized egg for breakfast, such as sunny side egg or scrummage egg.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful villa within walking distance to Mainau & Konstanz ferries. Spectacular view of Bodensee.
Romantik Hotel Residenz am See - Meersburg - Building

9.1 Excellent (471 reviews)

8.8 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is in an ideal location overlooking Lake Constance and just a short walk to the buzzing town centre and the local ferries. The staff are excellent, friendly and cannot do enough for you. The breakfast was plentiful with a fantastic choice of food. The room we had on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the lake was spotless although showing signs of its age and only an average size for a hotel, I would have expected it to be a little more sumptuous for the price but it's the view your really paying for I suppose. All in all a first class hotel in Meersburg.
Cons: A bit of traffic noise from the street below the balcony.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. After my first 2 nights, they noticed on their own that I was not going to breakfast (I had to leave for work earlier than their breakfast started) and after that, each morning they had prepared a sack lunch for me to take with me on my way out at 7 am.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing breakfast
Cons: The room was hot and had no fan or air conditioner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Dinner was amazing - service and food
Cons: The wifi code did not work. But I also didn't have the opportunity to request a new code, which might have worked.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast Friendly staff Clean
Cons: Bed too small
Hotel Strand Cafe Meersburg - Meersburg - Bar
3
9.1 Excellent (239 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hostess was wonderful - made an English speaking guest very welcome. Breakfast superb - great selections, delicious food and beverages. Book early and ask for a lakeside room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely helpful and even prepared breakfast for us outside since the weather was lovely. The room was tidy and comfortable. Great value for money! We would stay there again, anytime.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is fabulous! Just a stone's throw away from the ferry terminals. The hotel is old and has been nicely renovated. Do note, there are no lifts - so this is not suitable with people who have mobility issues. We stayed in a studio with a balcony onto the interior yards of other hotels and views of the castle and palace on the mountains. The studio is spacious and even has a walk in wardrobe. The bathroom was comfortable and beautiful. The staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel happy. Wifi is available for multiple devices. You get a guest card upon arrival which gives you some discounts to local attractions. The staff will even post your postcards for you :) Breakfast is typical for the region, so if you have any special dietary requirements, you will need to bring some of your own things (like I did, as I am vegan). You can also request coffee and tea made the way that you prefer. I recommend a visit to the Konstanz weekly produce market for some fresh fruit and berries, as well as Alnatura in Konstanz so you can supplement the breakfast with what you like. A really neat thing is that the breakfast bar at the hotel has a juicer - so you can squeeze your own juice from the carrots and apples they provide :)
Cons: When I booked the room, I selected it because it had a kitchen in the photos. However, upon arrival, I was informed that the kitchen does not function and was not on the list of facilities - which left me a little baffled, as I could not understand why they would include a photo of the kitchen on the website. After my initial disappointment, the staff offered some cutlery and plates so that I could still create some meals for myself, albeit cold ones. There is no kettle in the room, however the staff offered to fill up a thermos - so that is what we ended up doing for 5 nights - a staff member would fill up a thermos for us and take it up to our room before they left (they finish their shift at 6pm, after that there is no service) while we were still out exploring.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The lovely large room, balcony and views over the promenade. The large bathroom, hallway, 2 sets of patio doors and 2 other window with side aspect. The breakfast and breakfast room. The staff.
Cons: The restaurant closing at 1830 hours so we couldn't eat an evening meal there. The trees on the promenade covered a bit too much of the lake view. The lights on the balcony didn't work due to them attracting insects although candles were provided instead.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: The room and bathroom were small, however cozy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The views from our room on the top floor were uninterrupted and amazing, we could watch the boats coming in and out. Comfy bed, large modern bathroom.
Hotel 3 Stuben - Meersburg - Bedroom

8.9 Excellent (675 reviews)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has a good location the old town, just a few minutes walk from the castles and the lake. Parking is available for extra money, staff is friendly. Overall, good value for money.
Cons: The room was a bit noisy, we could hear our neighbors.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent people. Very convenient and comfortable. Will stay again soon.
Cons: Absolutely nothing to complain about.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is in a great location. Beautiful old house, very clean and comfortable rooms. Staff very helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast and the scrambled eggs were dry towards the end of breakfast time
9.6 Excellent
Pros: From start to finish the Hotel management and staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Everyone spoke excellent English with us and when one of our group injured her finger in a restaurant the lady on reception was most helpful in providing a suitable dressing. The rooms are all individually decorated and furnished and spotlessly clean and fresh. Complimentary drinks in the fridge were a lovely touch. Although two of our three rooms were not air conditioned, we were given large fans which worked well. The beds are large and very comfy and we had a great night‘s sleep. A lovely breakfast is served in the elegant ‚Stuben‘ . The hotel is easy to find right at the top of this beautiful town amongst the historic buidings. The walk down to the lake promenade with our parents in their 80‘s took about 15 minutes and the very steep walk back up was a little slower but pleasant. If the hill is a problem there are plenty of restaurants in the upper part of town just a few meters away instead or alternatively the complimentary town shuttlebus takes you from the lake to the hotel. We really loved our stay and would highly recommend the hotel to couples or families.
Cons: As is often the case outside the uk, there is no kettle in the room but quite honestly the complimentary drinks compensated nicely.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location and the restaurant
Hotel Seepromenade - Meersburg - Restaurant
5
8.9 Excellent (564 reviews)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was definitely beautiful and room facing the lake had a view like no other. The staff was very kind and the breakfast was incredibly delicious!
Cons: We asked to be extended for one more night and they promised to let us know in a few minutes if we could extend. We had to come back down that evening to follow up and they had relocated us to a smaller, unpleasant room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is not the first time we are staying in this hotel. It’s clean, location is perfect, service is great and people who work there are very helpful. I also like the food - I consider it to be the best restaurant in Meersburg. In addition to the fresh ingredients, it offers healthy choices, which almost impossible to find around! Amazing place!
7.4 Good
Pros: Thé view on thé lac
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was extremely delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Great restaurant. Really well situated.
Cons: The only possible misgiving would be lack of AC. The table fan in the room helped a bit, but somewhat hard to sleep even though the window was wide open. (Day temperatures were around 25 degrees.)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was ideal - right at the start of boat trips across the lake As many other places, this hotel offered breakfast, lunch and dinner, with quite a great array of dishes The room had an en suite bathroom with heating. Free Wifi and a bottle of water - much appreciated Breakfast is incredibly wonderful, and so is dinner!
Cons: It is a double room, but quite small for two people The bathroom has been retrofitted and is quite small; might be difficult for overweight people to be comfortable there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very friendly staff, happy to accommodate a LATE check-in. Breakfast was wonderful, and definitely more selection than a traditional B&B.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location right on the water and next to the boat trip pier. Easy walk around the corner to the scenic old city streets, although you must go up a steep hill to get to the old city center. Restaurant very popular, so recommend dinner reservations. Good renovations to make the rooms very comfortable despite the old city closeness.
Cons: Breakfast options were limited, but sufficient, just don’t expect an elaborate spread. You must drive up to the alley to check in, and get a parking pass to take the car back outside the old city to the parking center. There is no reception or lobby, so you must arrive between 1500 and 1800 to check in, otherwise you must go through the restaurant and find someone to help you. You must carry the heavy key around town with you otherwise you won’t be able to get back into the building.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing ideal place as a base and to go out and explore
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We rented an apartment studio in the basement, and it was very formidable! There is a small kitchen are well-equipped so we can cook the meal simple. However there was no microwave. The bed was comfy, and the bathroom was very clean. Internet worked well, but was limited during certain hours (no internet from 11PM - 7AM), which was no problem for us Parking was easy to access. The are was very calm and quiet. It takes abouth 5-7 minutes to walk to the centrl town and the lake All in all, we were very pleased and highly recommend !
Cons: Would be nice if there was a microwave. But nothing to complain otherwise
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owner was extremely friendly. We liked room equipment: full kitchen with dish and consumables. interesting bathroom. The room was clean in deed. The hotel was good located just 2 minute from the public places. the nearest supermarket was 2 min walk and FLIXBUS stop 5 min walk.
Cons: 'The room in the basement' was in the cellar in deed. So I was a bit worry to sleep on the same level as a grave :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: More or less everything : location , facilities including a swimming pool , self-contained kitchenette etc.
Cons: Walking direction to the premise was a little confusing for us
9.2 Excellent
Pros: - Owner is super friendly, knowledgeable & ever so helpful :) - Location is perfect: nestled at the base of a vineyard (picturesque!), off the noisy main road, just a short 5min walk to the beautiful old town, plus little grocery store (edeka) 3min walk away - Pictures of the room are super accurate - Amenities provided were as promised, everything worked :) They even had a little pantry stocked with chips, snacks & drinks at the lobby just in case anyone wanted something - Room was warm, bright & comfortable — not bad for a basement room! - Loved the spacious toilet :)
Cons: - Beds were very... squishy. My husband has a bad back and couldn’t sleep on the bed because it was not firm (absolutely no back support whatsoever). The moment you climb into bed, you sink into the mattress. We realised that the problem was not the mattresses; but the bed frames — because the top of the bed frames were soft (like a hammock), the mattress sank wherever weight was placed on it. - Carpet on which the beds were placed is dusty. My allergies started flaring up. BUT other than that, the room was pretty clean :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect for what we wanted
Cons: Everything was good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and parking close to.old town but 2 blocks away from the crush the room was very nice with terrace close to the kitchen/ breakfast area , had use of fridge for my insulin good Italian restaurant close by . Very.nice lady running the guesthouse one of our favorite stays.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfy accommodation in a quiet area with all the basics including a kitchenette
Cons: Internet in the basement apartment did not always work well and the fridge was noisy

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, good breakfast, friendly staff. Plenty of space for 2 adults + 2 children with fully equipped kitchen in the “economy double room”.
Cons: Weak wifi access in the room (mini-apartment on the premises) which wouldn’t normally be an issue except that there’s very bad cellular data connection all over Meersburg.

3.3 Mediocre
Cons: I have a late evening horror surprise - my room was full of mosquitos and spiders when I got back to the hotel around 24 o'clock. There was nobody on the reception, no contacts nothing. I need to stay on a two sits small couch in the lobby until person from the hotel appear by chance around 4-4:30 am Booking.com service lines kept me for 20 min without anybody answering. I just got operators are busy. I doubt now you have operators at all. No reception after I don't know 8-9pm in this hotel. Not acceptable for hotel pretending to be. No way to call anybody in case of issue.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Not real 4 stars hotel. Extremely expensive for what it was. The room was very small. The front rooms with the view are not available through Booking.com.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet, a nice garden with a possibility to sit outside. The rooms are spacious, clean and well fitted. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Cons: It's a bit far to walk to the city centre (around 2 km), and it's uphill on the way back. But there are buses that you can use for free with your hotel registration slip. The staff at the reception explain how it works and provide timetables.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. Room was clean every day!
Cons: I liked everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The fixtures, fittings and cleanliness were all of an exceptional high standard. The breakfast buffet was also first class. The owners were very friendly and helpful and would totally recommend this accommodation.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Spotlessly clean. Good size bedroom with useful & good quality furniture e.g. sofa, chair. Very comfortable bed. Patio window opened onto large garden area - with 2 chairs & table on patio & there was also an adjustable sun canopy. Bathroom very clean with a good shower. Enjoyed the breakfasts - good quality ‘continental style’.
Cons: Wish they had evening meal. Although we managed by walking to town (about 25 mins - but hill on return) or taking nearby bus - although return buses stopped early evening so you either walked or took taxi (5 euros approx). But to us this was a minor problem & the pluses of the hotel far outweighed any minor minuses. We would return if ever back in the area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm and friendly welcome with informative and enthusiastic host. The hotel was immaculate everything we needed for our four nights. Extremely comfortable and very quiet. The free pass for the bus was a bonus. Meersburg itself was a beautiful town, very clean with lots of good restaurants bars and shops. But one must try out the bakeries for excellent coffee, sandwiches/rolls and of course delicious pastries. We took the boat to Konstanz and from there the bus to Mainau Island which is pricey to enter but could spend all day there especially with children... look it up ! Meersburg also has a beautiful beach/lido which we enjoyed so this Hotel was perfect for us.
Cons: Nothing... everything was perfect for us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful and obliging. The decor of the hotel was very tastefully designed. It was a very restful location a short distance from the old town. We would like to return.
Cons: No English speaking TV programmes

Gästehaus Mayer-Bartsch - Meersburg - Building
12
8.4 Excellent (255 reviews)
7.1 Good
Pros: Location is good, very clean
Cons: Sheets are very rough and uncomfortable to sleep in. Rooms faced the street which was noisy all night. They only received cash. No credit card :((
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, spotless, colourful inviting outside, friendly reception, lovely breakfast, helpful advice about the region and the busses
6.0 Good
Pros: Excellent room and bathroom.Big bedroom with sofa and full size table and chairs- a junior suite. Balcony on two sides with lake views .
Cons: Noisy with busy road location but good sound proofing.Main view included Agip petrol station. Breakfast was marred by lack of fresh fruit, stale rolls which would have benefited by 30 seconds in microwave, and tiny serving bowls.
7.5 Good
Cons: No credit Card
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This was a traditional guest house a short distance from the town centre. The property was nicely maintained and we were given a room which was large, airy and comfortable. Whilst we were amid a heatwave the room, which lacked air conditioning stayed remarkably cool. The traffic noise issue, which we noted in other reviews was not an encountered problem. No English was spoken, however the staff were all helpful and friendly.
Cons: Our confirmation stated we would have a double room with balcony and free WiFi - we received neither. In fairness to the hotel we liked our room so we did not raise the missing balcony issue and as I had internet access via my own MiFi, the internet situation was not challenged either. Breakfast was fine, but nothing special. If you arrived in the latter half of the serving, staff were not particularly good at replenishing empty serving dishes/containers. The guest house is a 5-10 minute walk from the town centre. Going to town is great, it's mainly downhill. The return journey is consequently uphill.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, beautiful house
Cons: Missing sheets in the bed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hosts, very comprehensive breakfast, room had balcony overlooking lake, was overlooking road with some traffic noise but not intrusive. Good location, supermarket across road.
Cons: Nothing of any consequence to dislike

7.0 Good
Pros: breakfast is at a restaurant a 5 min walk away but was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location overlooking Lake Constance and easy access to downtown. Great breakfast buffet served at an offsite restaurant within easy 5-minute walking distance, or hotel provided golf cart shuttle service.
Cons: No onsite parking (have to park in offsite public parking lot).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service provided was excellent, impressive! Room super clean Breakfast is great Shuttle car is provided Receptionist is so kind and helpful Location is great, with fantastic view
Cons: Nothing. All is perfect.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great, value excellent
Cons: ....breakfast was served somewhere round the corner a short walk away. It wasn’t a problem for me and it means that several smaller hotels can club together and offer a much better selection than they’d manage otherwise. However, it should be a bit clearer in the booking - it could be a problem for the elderly, or if there’s heavy rain etc.

Pros: Fabulous location and good value for money.
Cons: Needs a full length mirror in the bedroom and a bin in the bathroom.
7.1 Good
Pros: The building was nice as was the breakfast. The staff was nice as well.
Cons: The room faced the back alley which didn't provide fresh air...it didn't smell good in the room. The room was dark and noisy as it was right above the restaurant kitchen. The trash cans were under the window. The room itself had everything I needd just the location in the house was bad. The bed could use a new mattress.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant in the the hotel is excellent, as are its staff and location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect hotel in a perfect location! Rooms were great and the staff were beyond amazing! There was a horrible heat wave and being in the 3rd floor it was HOT at night. The front desk staff lent us the fan from the front desk at night so we could have some relief from the heat. Impeccable hospitality!!! Would recommend this place a million times. Thank you for an amazing stay!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly, rooms were big and cosy although a bit too warm due to no air-con and super hot weather. Breakfast very basic but very nice. Hotel accommodated pets extremely well and for price no hotel this far had offered (5EUR/night). Location great, parking organized well. Overall, great experience.

Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast and reception in a different building/hotel
5.8 Okay
Pros: ok
Cons: small room, small bathroom, coffee machine outside the room, scaffolding on the outside instead of balcony.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our room was like living in your own little castle tower. Quirky decor like an old castle, which might have been cheesy other places, but really fun being in Germany with all the real castles. Really enjoyed. Staff were great. Location on the street with the city gates at one end, lots of cute shops and dining, Meersburg Castle just a walk up the hill, and lakefront stroll just one block away. Really perfect. Breakfast up the street was really nice as well. Ferry boats just a short walk away. Recommend.
7.9 Good
Pros: breakfast good but at another location. No map of Meersberg so difficult to locate the hotel. Information about where to collect the key was wrong.
Cons: Better directions to find the hotel and correct information about where to collect the key.
7.0 Good
Pros: -the hotel really mean it with their middle ages theme, lots of love for detail when it comes to decoration -friendly welcome both at check-in and check-out -great location smack in the middle of town, 1 minute walk to the lake shore -newly renovated bathroom and very nice shower -very nice breakfast in restaurant Winzerstuben (3 minute walk from the hotel)
Cons: -tiny rooms, not really suited to spend time in the room (although ours had a 2 sqm balcony with two chairs, overlooking however a construction site) -very short beds, not really comfy if you're over 1.80m tall - you'll knock into things all the time -check-in is in hotel Seehof, and breakfast is yet in another place, so it was quite the circus to keep a group of 5 rooms organised
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Cosy small room with a great breakfast!
Cons: -
8.8 Excellent
Pros: In lower old town within walking distance to all attractions and restaurants . Car parking next to property.
Cons: Small room even smaller bathroom.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was central and convenient and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was down the street in another facility and was delicious. We Lucked out with parking right next door.
Cons: Check in was a bit strange at another hotel across the street. The room wasn’t as comfortable as most on our stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location with a view of the lake down a little alleyway opposite, and huge choice of restaurants along the promenade as well as in the Upper Town. Superb range of foods at breakfast - which is provided in a nearby restaurant. Guest pass given by hotel allowed free transport to Upper Town on shuttle bus, and a few discounts (some only small though) on entry charges to various attractions

Cons: No English speaking TV programmes

Pros: The hotel is situated not far from the center but with an excellent view on the Lake. The hotel is family owned and has a very sympatethic atmophere. Breakfast was with excellent choice. I adore the fresh fruit Buffet. Boiled eggs with specific cooking time are available.

Pros: 5 minutes walk to the market place and church
Cons: Towel in the bathroom too old

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, good breakfast, friendly staff. Plenty of space for 2 adults + 2 children with fully equipped kitchen in the “economy double room”.
Cons: Weak wifi access in the room (mini-apartment on the premises) which wouldn’t normally be an issue except that there’s very bad cellular data connection all over Meersburg.
