Front desk staff were very helpful in supplying directions and ideas of what to see. In the historical district. Bed and room were comfortable. Pub/bar next door is generally not that noisy except for one night pre-Halloween when it was extremely noisy. Liked having a washer/dryer - it really helped as travelling light. Grocery store around corner is open late. Easy to get to via train from airport. Or cab is about $30 (used this for early morning flight on return). Bathroom could use a bit more cleaning but it was clean enough. Bit far from rest of downtown but subway provides easy access or you can walk. Streets in area deserted if walking home late at night - recommend take subway (stop is only a block away) or take a cab.
I felt this place was very laid back with a hip set up as well as staff. I got the feel this was a alternative dorm for the neighborhood!! Lack of privacy...... yet, i didnt have to stay there either!! :)
Male dorm smelled strongly of mildew
The fact that the have events every night, making more easy to talk to the people how are in the hostel.
Very nice personnel. Location is very good. Perfect place for budget staying for 1-5 days in Philadelphia.
I liked the helpfulness of the staff and the location of the hostel no negative emotions whatsoever
Downtown Philadelphia, old city district. Very nice personnel, cheap rates. no
Greg, the shuttle driver, was great. The "non-smoking" room stunk of smoke.
Value for money, and a lovely hotel staff
the staff were friendly and the facility was clean. we could have done with porter service as luggage was heavy and luggage trolley was hard to maneuver.
The ability to get the shuttle to take back the car the night before and call the shuttle to pick us up at the airport. Then in the morning we easily made the 6:30 flight out. We were able to get a 4:30 am shuttle to the airport.
Floor was dirty, the room was stinky, and not soundproofed despite the location is close to the runway.
Staff was for the most part efficient. Bed was comfortable Reported that TV wasn't working properly and was never fixed. Common areas were shabby and not well maintained. Pool was very small and was inundated with children from a birthday party who were behaving wildly with no one from the hotel addressing the issue. No room safe.
We only stayed one night but it was well worth it.. Very spacious, clean, comfortable, good location , free parking.. Perfect for a weekend getaway ... I would definitely go back No complaints
Very noisy and loud partying guests. Both in hotel as well as arming lot. Not a representative hotel for conducting business.
I needed A place to stay for an office party in Philadelphia, and while I did not spend much time in the hotel, the time spent there was great! the Staff was very friendly and the room was clean. Room wasn't well lit and a little dated, but still a great place to stay a night.
The Sofitel in Philadelphia is in a great location. It has beautifully appointed rooms, and the staff are gracious and warm. Typically, I feel very comfortable in any room I stay in. However this time, the air conditioner didn't work properly, and the shower didn't drain properly. It did dampen my enjoyment of the hotel.
Love the hotel and the location. The bar was nice and the French fries late night were amazing. Met an old friend in Philly for one evening. We had a great day in the city, a wonderful dinner and retired to the room at eight PM to get reacquainted. At 10:15 we had a hotel staff member knock on our door to tell us we had noise complaints and to keep it down!!! There was also a note under our door say pleas keep it down the walls are very thin!!! Really??? 10:15??? And they want Philly to be known for the city of LOVE but only if you whisper! Disappointed the staff actually came up to tell me that. I will not be staying there again if I am doing anything but sleeping!
I love all the little extras that the Sofitel in Philadelphia provides… Waters that you don't pay for and offers of more water on request. A really comfortable chair to sit at at the desk, multiple outlets for electronic things, a good blow dryer, a fabulous bed for comfort, great decorating and design that is amazing. I love the amazing service and delicious food like the squash soup that Sofitel offers in their dining area. I appreciated that when I asked about my boarding pass being printed out Anthony from the front desk immediately went there and did it within 30 seconds for me. The staff, from the maid service to the front desk to the waitresses to the hostess to the Bellman, are all incredibly friendly warm helpful but appropriate.
I booked my stay with the Sofitel through Kayak and the hotel reservations staff completely LOST my pre-paid reservation. After I thought I had resolved this issue, the hotel staff charged me AGAIN for the reservation because the check out staff was different than the staff I worked with to check in. The staff does not communicate with each other. I will never book a room with this hotel again.
They found and provided a mailing tube for us so that we could pack a poster and didn't have to mail it home. I little pricier than I would have liked.
Had a prepaid reservation for Sofitel and arrived a day late due to a family emergency. I did not have time to call the previous day and when I arrived the manager said they had cancelled my reservation, charged me for one day and that he 'would help me find another hotel.' Pathetic, at least could have called me before they cancelled my reservation. Never stay at the Philadelphia Sofitel again.
The whole staff is professional and friendly. When they say hello, good morning or ask how your stay is going, it's all sincere. It doesn't sound like a chore or they're just doing their job, they really care!
There were many stains on mattresses, Knicks on walls and doors, bedside glasses were not cleaned/replaced each day, gym was filthy with sweat stains on machines and equipment and floor. This hotel is desperately in need of an upgrade/remodel
Te walls are paper thin. You can hear what everyone is doing around you.
Location is perfect for shopping and eating. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. Loved the slippers, thick towels and soft sheets. Lanvin bath products - wow! Nothing. I would easily stay here again if I can find a good rate.
The staff and service were impeccable.
Everyone was friendly, my room was rather large and I enjoyed the ambience. My room was mainly clean but I felt like certain surfaces needed another wipe.
Dirty toilet was broken Toilet didn't work
Check out. Room smelled like smoke, bathroom not cleaned, rug not vacuum. The rug was wet and the room had hair and dust in the corners of the closet. The Manager was suppose to contact me & I still have not heard from him.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
They have a 1pm late check out. The towels didnt seem very clean. I found hair on one of them that wasnt mine. They woke me up because they didn't communicate to the housekeeping that I had a 1pm checkout.
Free breakfest The location, rooms were not presentable, I was afraid to all barefoot on the rug they had with a piece missing from it
Availability States free parking, but this is not true.
Close to the airport. Old outdated, smelly. Doors would stick and was hard to open.
Close to hotel The lighting outside the rooms didn't work. It was very dark making it hard to find your room. My wife didn't feel safe there being we arrived at night with our luggage
Despite the location near the airport, the room was quiet. Also very clean. The front desk staff on duty over the weekend was very professional and helpful, juggling people at the desk with people on the phone. The cardkeys kept failing. We had to get new keys every day, even though we kept them separate from any electronics that would demagnetize them. Also, the juice machine broke down while we were there. Allow breakfast until 10 am. thx
There was nothing to like about the hotel. It was filthy! The room was filthy. I did not want my family walking with bare feet on the carpet. The room smelled like someone broke an entire bottle of Axe cologne.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Our room had live cockroaches. Man working at desk did not even apologize. We asked for our money back so we could go somewhere else for the night. He apparently didn't know how to do a refund. I am still trying to speak to someone, but it was awful
The bed was very comfortable and we really enjoyed the shower it had great water pressure unlike most hotel showers no
We were there when a load of kids were staying. Not sure if they were spring breakers or what. The place was a giant loud party spot all night and day! Staff did Nothing to handle this! Nothing! They were running up and down the walk ways drinking and yelling. Beating on the wall in their room etc... Worst motel stay in my life. Mentioned this at check out. Everyone in the lobby agreed and the management didn't apologize at all. Let alone offer any type of compensation to get us back. She acted as if if was they norm there.
Room had hairs in the bed which were not from us and my husband and I were woken up multiple times by the people staying next to us. They made it very clear they were taking pain killers and partying in their room. The female got locked out of the room and for an hour and 45 minutes she banged on the door and the window which was totally disrupting to everyone around not to mention she was cursing up a storm. My husband and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and were completely disgusted being there!
low cost near airport The Booking.com reservation did make it through to the hotel - we were lucky that the hotel had room.
Good value for your money. The toilet didn't work and the bathroom was very small.
ROWENA DID HER BEST AND THE WOMAN WHO ATTENDED TO MY ROOM WAS WONDERFUL-- RM 158 QUALITY INN. UNFORTUNATELY I STAYED FOR 2WEEKS. GIVEN THE CONDITIONS I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A DISCOUNT. The shuttle driver was on the phone each time I took the short ride to PHL. The Quality Inn room 167 has mold and mildew in the bathroom and I showed the Manager . The laundry facilities are old. Unfortunately I had to stay there for 2weeks. The restaurant and Chinese food was horrible
That no one else ever used the iron. That's seriously it, the only reason i'm still typing is because 100 character min. The hair in the towels The unclean pillow The door that wouldn't close correctly cause one of the hings was broken
Room was comfortable but it smelled like cigarettes Good tv cable and wifi First time called several times for the van shuttle and didn't see it Non smoking room smelled like cigarettes Far away from downtown and expensive to travel by public transport.
Econo Lodge took responsibility and booked another hotel when the room we booked was not available. Econo Lodge did not have the room we booked available upon arrival.
Closeness to airport Run down. Noisy. Bad mattresses
When we walked in the room it smelt of cleaner which I thought at the time was a good thing. A few hours later after we came back from dinner we found baby baby cockroaches crawling on the night stand, it was only 2 so we figured we would just deal with it. The the toilet wouldn't flush and for some reason they don't have a plunger in the whole hotel. So they were nice enuff to move us from a handicapped room to a non handicapped with lower toilets. My fiance has a prosthetic leg and didn't quite enjoy switching rooms at 2-3am to one where she has trouble getting on and off the toilet. After being up all night we ended up missing the complimentary breakfast that ends at 9am, they where nice enuff to give us a late checkout for 1pm though. When we did check out and told them how bad our stay was the offered to give us 10% off our next stay which we will not be using. Oh and they might also have bed bugs because my fiance iched the whole rest of the day until we finally got home to take a shower. Overall a horrible stay...
Really enjoyed my stay. While not traditional room service, the food at Urban Farmer was amazing.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. Old king bed with two craters on either side and a mountain in the middle. Sparse king suite room missing some typical and expected details such as a bag for ice bucket, a second robe, or a second cutlery set from room service. The staff was nice and accommodating, but we just stopped calling the front desk after the 2nd call. Also the vanity area of the bathroom was awkwardly massive - perhaps 12'x24'. It contained a single sink, and a separate make-up vanity (without a stool). The toilet and shower (no tub) were located through a separate door to the standard, camped hotel bathroom. Weird prioritize took of space, that made the suite feel awkward.
We really enjoyed the level of the service provided by the staff. A 5-star gem in the heart of town. Can't wait to return. We utilized the spa and fantastic treatments. It would be nice if there was a relaxation room to unwind in after the treatments other than the indoor pool area. There were children splashing around in the pool. We prefer a more tranquil environment after wonderful spa services.
very attentive staff
nice room n veiw order a suprise bottle of champane to be in room never made it did give us a comp breakfest
The Good: Very luxurious rooms. Friendly staff. Really good food on site at the Urban Kitchen. Location was prime to get to all the museums and city center. The Bad: 2+ hours delayed check in time. Compensation was essentially a drink at the bar. This happened to many people around us. When we finally got to our rooms, there were NO towels!!! For the price we paid and the star value of this hotel, I was very disappointed.
Hotel gave us a free upgrade to a huge suite. It was awesome. Staff was excellent
The Hotel staff is very friendly and pleasant.
Food at Urban Farmer was fabulous. Quite a delight. Rooftop bar was excellent - beautiful view. Room smelled like smoke. First staff person apologized and offered no other solutions. Second call the staff person offered an ozone machine to clean the air. He never showed up. I called two hours later after dinner and they said they couldn't bring the ozone machine to the room, stating that the machine couldn't be in use when the guest was in the room. Disappointed in response and knowledge of staff.
We had never been to Philadelphia and had no idea what expect. This hotel was elegent, clean and updated! At check in they gave us a piece of paper that had all surrounding restaurants and attractions all seperated by types of food or establishments. Then as an added bonus, the kind, helpful staff member at check in even put stars next to the best places to go to with kids. To make things more convenient the 1st morning we were there we were able to schedule a bus tour of Philadelphia right in the hotel lobby. This worked out great for us becsuse we only had one full day there and wanted to see as much as we could. So all this is great, but the best part is the LOCATION!! With in the hour that we arrived we deciedd to walk to get none other than a cheese steak. We walked the direction to Jims (which was suggested by the hotel staff and happens to be the best philly steak in town) and with in 2 blocks of the hotel the street transformed to a bustling city to a picturesque scene of 1700 brick houses, with trees canopying the the cobble stone streets. I walked to Starbucks in the morning from the hotel and walked right by where Benjamin Franklin had been buried and didn't even know it! The parking garage is not connected to the hotel and if there is valet, we never saw it. There is a parking garage on the premises, but no entry directly inside the hotel to and from the garage.
Perfect location! Right in the heart of historic Philadelphia with plenty to do within walking distance! Staff was helpful with everything requested Bathroom was not very clean. Used q tips in the room. The coffee was not restocked.
Rooms were perfectly adequate - bed fine, our shower worked, hot water and Internet worked fine too. Read the fine print - parking not included! Poor service - breakfast was poor, service there was poor, front desk was mixed fine when I checked in but when my mom told them about a leak in their window, no note taking, no interest and no improvement.
From the minute we walked in, the front desk staff was helpful, gracious, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Danielle was a star! She made sure that we were well taken care of after our long day of travelling. She even directed us to the best Philly Cheesesteaks in town! Hotel room was great. Location was perfect. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Comfortable bed. Bottled water in the room. Right in the middle of old town Breakfast buffet was so so.
Location Dirt in corner of bathroom, pool area unkept,
Great location in walking distance to historical sites. Super friendly front desk staff. Room was not ready at 5:00 pm. They did take half off parking to compensate a little.
Location was perfect for walking to lots of great historic and shopping/neighborhood browsing. Parking a bit expensive ($36/day) but it's a city, so it was expected. The staff was VERY helpful and friendly, got us right in even though we showed up a few hours before check-in time, answered all questions, and gave some great recommendations. Overall, a terrific experience and I would highly recommend!
Great location and pleasant staff. Guests in the next room hosted a party until 5:30am. Several calls were made to the front desk, but the party continued throughout the night. I got the impression this is normal behavior at this particular hotel. Wouldn't recommend to others traveling for business.
This hotel was very comfortable and in an amazing location, close to everything I needed. The night staff were a bit grouchy when I arrived, but Seamus and Andre were really friendly daytime staff. I ordered a whiskey on the rocks at the bar and they charged $4 just for the "rocks"(aka ice) - drink-lovers beware!
Great old city location. AC unit is loud; bathroom could use a thorough cleaning -- dust and hair accumulated in corners. Tub did not drain; ankle deep by the end of the shower.
I spent $200 for a one night sty on a Wednesday, and the room had no refrigerator and it was also an additional $30 to park over night
The accomodations were very "high tech" and interesting. Cloxe proximity to the airport. No
The reception was efficient and friendly. the staff excellent. the room was generously equipped and very adequate to my needs.
Proximity to the airport
The vibe is fun and the atmosphere was hip and fun. The bed was hard . The tv didn't work properly . The pool was dirty. Breakfast was horrible.
I was charged even though I called and cancelled immediately. The hotel manager has not called me back and I still have not received a refund even though I did not stay there.
There was a front desk clerk by the name of 'Angel' who was so charming, thoughtful and talented. She belongs at a W or a Four Seasons. The thermostat in the hotel room was either all or nothing. We were either cold or sweltering. When it was running, it was very loud. Otherwise this was a great property, great overnight and very good value.
The low price and convenient location determined our choice and the airport shuttle service met our needs for arriving at and departing from the hotel. The cheap paper "glasses" and foam "cups" rather than the real things.
The heat does not work which in turn taught me the flu
The staff suggested that we move to the 5th floor because of an"event" going on on the first floor. Some time during the night, people arrived in the room next to ours. They were quite loud.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. There seemed to be several parties being held in the building. It was extremely loud with children and adults who didn't seem to settled down until after 2 am. Also there was a lot of banging on the walls.
Rooms were clean. Did not get the room I paid for because they sold out of rooms that said where available online. I understand things like that happen but I was not apologized to for the inconvenience and was felt to feel like it was my fault for using a third party website. Had I either gotten the room I paid for or was apologized to i would have given a higher rating.
close to airport water temperature in sink and shower was set to near boiling with no way to adjust it; showering wasn't possible with it so hot as it burned our skin. SPG discount of 5% for booking wasn't applied to our account since we booked through third-party (only because SPG made our account inactive and required us to call customer service to restore); faucet was covered in orange mold; shower window was covered in black mildew / mold. sad that Marriott is now merging with SPG as we have status with Marriott & wanted to check out an SPG hotel, such as the Aloft. Had a horrible experience with SPG so far.
You have a bed to sleep on and close to the Airport so it won't cost you much to order a cap or uber. Kayak gave me the smoking room which was very smelly, I've been in many hotels with smoking rooms but this one smelled like ashtray. The housekeeping only come to clean rooms in the early morning, if you leave by the afternoon no one will clean your room. Also all hotels in the area have a free shuttle to the Airport but not this one which is something I think they should consider.
The proximatity to the freeway. Towels and bedding were stained. Bathtub had soapscum residue, and their was not fan/vent. Mildew was present on the ceiling. The carpet had stains and there was a layer of dust on a few pieces of furniture. We also saw a roach motel on the floor, by the nightstand. Also, the checkin receptionist stated that she steals people's info for her Netflix, because she doesn't want to pay $7.99 for it so she can watch the show Scandel. The parking lot was littered with trash, and the grab and go breakfast was stale and tasteless.
The manager was nice. Probably the nastiest hotel that I have ever stayed in. My niece found a condom in the dresser draw, the towels were dirty, everything was just awful. I will do everything in my power to avoid staying at this hotel, ANYWHERE in America, not just Philadelphia. I will also do my best to keep people away through WOM and no matter where I am. It was just awful.
Staff was terrible and the rooms were disgusting.
Took half hour to check in, initially sent to wrong room with other guests inside..
The bed and chairs were clean and comfortable Some maintenance was skipped before my check-in. Bathroom sink was dirty, toilet was dirty, stove had two electric burners but only one worked.
Staff, Hotel, and overall the hotel itself was nice Lumpy beds, terrible pillows. Had the unfortunate timing with guests that were smoking weed.
Location was adequate and nice and clean room. There was a fire @ 0330. It was a miserable night with the worst timing. It wasn't the staffs' fault with the fire situation, but how they handled the situation and compensation post fire was the problem. Management offered 25% off of one night. I thought that the whole night should have been compensated because of the time of night that the event occurred. It wasn't a good experience.
Room was dirty and disgusting
Location central to everything we came to do. Everything was great! Staff was very friendly and helpful.
onvenient, good service, clean room
Convenient location, helpful staff. Complicated garage access.
So close and convenient to Jefferson Station train stop. If you are planning on using public transport to get from the airport to the hotel and back, you can't beat the location. It was also close to restaurants and within walking distance to historic Philadelphia attractions. Was traveling with my seven year old and I felt safe in the neighborhood. Staff was very friendly and very helpful! Restaurant in hotel had good options. Everything was clean and in good shape. Pool area and exercise room left a little to be desired but were good enough for my son to enjoy and for me to get a vacation sized workout.
Parking was 34 a day. that was rediculace after spending that much on my stay.
Very convenient location for visiting our local office. Congested area, difficult parking, lots of traffic. (standard downtown Philadelphia)
The maid services was very helpful. The staff downstairs was unfailingly friendly, even with the difficult customer in front of me. I loved my stay. I kept running out of creamer and asking for more. I probably just use too much. They always brought it up for me right away.
Good location, not very crowded. N/A
Breakfast was very good. Dining room good ambiance. Wait staff were excellent. Air conditioning was too noisy. No night light for bathroom.
Right in the city close to lots of tourist destinations. Beds are incredibly comfy, and loved the microwave/fridge/keurig combo. Very close to some dodgy parts of town. Parking is outrageously difficult to find on street (and I'm from NYC). Just pay the insane fee for the parking garage, it's worth it. On street is $9 for3 hours anyways. The hotel itself wasn't terrible with clean rooms, a pool/hot tub area and decent exercise facilities. The whole place was a bit dark and I felt compelled to turn on all the lights in the room and it still felt dark. Other than the hotel feeling dark and a bit old it was a pleasant stay.
The staff answered questions. They were well trained My husband and I were bit by bed bugs. There were you ha kids running around the entire hotel all night long making noise. We attempted to go in the pool many children unsupervised over crowded. I'm sure many of the teenagers who were staying at the hotel had no business being there
The hotel had a great feel when you walked in. It looked very clean and modern. When we arrived Saturday afternoon, there was no doorman to help with the bags. I ended up running into someone when I went to get a cart who was hanging out at the front desk talking. Also I was putting a stroller and there wasn't anyone to assist with holding the door open. Lastly, there were 2 weddings going on. From our room, we could hear the DJ until past 11:30 at night which isn't ok when you have small children and if you are a light sleeper.
Comfortable beds, nice lobby with Starbucks coffee, continental breakfast, late room service, within walking distance to many things and short cab ride to airport
Room fab! Parking fee was ridiculous!
Access to historical sites and great restaurants
Good location. The hotel was renovating at the time, and I woke up to the sounds of construction! There was no mention of this at all on booking.com - I would've liked to know before booking that there's work being done there. I'm sure it will be fine once done, but still. Hotel staff were okay, but not particularly warm.
Room was comfortable and clean. Lobby was decorated beautifully for the holidays and kept well updated in design and comfort, many sofas to relax, semi private sitting rooms to relax and converse, all with a warm, inviting feel. No fridge in rooms.
I liked the privacy though the hotel was full. There was not a refrigerator in the room and the ice bucket was undersized. The wedding guests in the lobby were too loud, they should be contained in a private area. The valet service did not retrieve my car in 15 minute time slot. It took took 35 minutes and I had to ask for my car twice.
Confortable, near city attractions, car stayed at valet parking all the time, good relaxing swiming pool.
Location was awesome. Staff was friendly. Terrible TV...too small and very blurry. Food menu was weak...not enough variety and over priced for the quality. Should not have had to pay an extra 30.00 for one nights parking...outrageously over priced and a very sneaky added expense.
Very close to the historical sites, restaurants and Penn's Landing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Having access to the Club Lounge was very convenient to get breakfast or a drink to go. Only valet parking available. Getting used to the noise of the heat/Air conditioning unit turning on and off. It was very quiet while it was running, just the starting and stopping noise that might wake you up if you aren't use to sounds.
Good check in person Internet service
We only stayed for a night so did not get to take advantage of the beautiful lobby with many seating areas from high tops to cozy couches. Somehow it felt very open yet very homey and welcoming at the same time. Beautiful quiet neighborhood. Very friendly staff. The heater in our room sounded like a mini-explosion every time it kicked on. The walls were paper thin. We were wakened by two female voices and two babies at 7:30 am. I would have sworn they were in our room.
Great Hotel! Perfect Location!!
Staff were extremely friendly!
The location The customer service from employees was horrible when I went up for breakfast. Was going to be my first time staying at this hotel. After I found out they don't do COOK TO ORDER BREAKFAST like most embassy's and my room wasn't ready when I checked in as promised and the employees weren't friendly. I decided to take my business somewhere else.
Everything. .. N/A
Management is terrible and has no heart. It's all about policy. They refused to cancel my room and credit me the day of my intended arrival even though I had a medical emergency and couldn't make the trip. I will never stay here again and hope you do the same.
Convenient location for City travels. Appears to be reasonably clean. Good value for the expense. The hotel is dated and well used.
breakfast room had a musty smell
The staff was great and very helpful. Our room was nice, very comfortable and clean. We liked the location as it was walking distance to some museums and also a Starbucks! Snacks in the early evening and free breakfast was a nice extra. I would definitely stay again at this Embassy Suites. My stay would have been excellent had it not been for the very long wait we experienced with parking. We were aware that it would take about 30 minutes from the time we called the parking attendant to have our car ready for us at the front. We called right after we finished our breakfast, went to our room to gather our things and check out. Once we checked out we waited in the lobby for our car to be brought around about an hour. We finally asked and were told that the desk had not told an attendant to get our car ready. They got right on it but we ended up waiting about another 25 minutes for our car, making us late to our outing. Had it not been for this issue I would rate our experience as excellent.
Given a great room with tons of space and nice views, thanks so much! Cleaning staff were so pleasant! We were turned away from the breakfast because we arrived at 9:29 and "there were already a lot of people in there"
We love staying at Embassy Suites with our two kids (6 and 8 years old). The separate space is terrific for letting them go to sleep before us. The included buffet breakfast makes mornings easier too. The physical property is very dated ... only one of the three elevators was working as we went to check out at 9:30 AM, so we walked down 18 flights of stairs. I feel really badly for the cleaning staff who are competing for space on the elevator in order to turn over rooms! That said, every single person we interacted with had five star customer service and a great attitude. For the price, I'd definitely stay here again, but there's nothing luxurious about it!
Large room. Kitchen was nice to have Walls had some visible repairs. Sheets had a small hole. For the prices your paying you shouldn't see those kind of issues. Overall very clean. Must have gotten a bad room. But was disappointed in the quality to cost ratio.
Room was huge...bed comfortable. .all room amenities were perfect. Pool was nice and morning breakfast was great. Also very clean. No bar....no restaurant. ..Valet parking fee was ridiculous for each day which made the booking price not so affordable.
great pool & buffet breakfast
I really didn't know what we had gotten ourselves into until we arrived. We were pleasantly surprised. This is the perfect location and is close to everything. There is an adorable little park right outside that has cute little events all summer long. I can't imagine staying anywhere else. Oh and did I mention the view??? Amazing!
I love the energy from the staff to even the parking attendants. The pool was phenomenal and the breakfast was amazing. definitely a hotel to visit again when in the Phila I hope to visit the penns landing Hilton family again soon Parking was expensive I ended up using street parking across the street and paying for the meter.
Rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. Hotel overall appearance was good and stylish. Parking rates were outrageous. The bar was terrible and the drinks overpriced. I know the main restaurant/bar was closed for renovations, which explains the awkward positioning of the bar, but the prices for drinks were way too high given the bartender quality and overall market positioning which is heavily influenced by the bartender. Drinks were priced about 30% higher than they should have been, especially given the fact that I had to explain to the bartender how to make a simple drink like an old fashioned. Huge fail in an area where there are too many alternatives.
Parking closeby (self- or value) / nice view over the haven / restaurant was good (but to cold inside) with nice food the unfriendly bellman (or valet - parking guy) in front of the hotel. he should let the Guests get out the car and not open the door while the car is still in motion...
The staff at the front desk were exceptional and extremely helpful. The doorman and valet were amazing providing information about the city and transportation. The restaurant and bar were horrible! Service was slow and overwhelmed but they tried hard to provide service. Our burgers were not cooked properly. My burger was burned and my fiancé asked for medium rare and got well done. We sent it back and the burgers still were pathetic and not good. We ate them anyway we were starving after traveling all day. Later that evening after returning from dinner out and a bit of shopping we went to the bar for a night cap and waited 20 minutes before anyone even spoke to us and then another 20 minutes to get a simple captain and Coke and a lemonade -- needless to say we walked out!
Profesional and friendly staff. Parking way too expensive. 44 per night for valet and 32 to park yourself but gotta take 3 elevators and various walkways to get to your car.
Paying $30+ for parking that should have been included
Great location, fun park right outside. Great staff & fantastic room!
Misleading Location, it was listed as a city hotel but was a long way from the city.
No free wireless internet access in room.
We have stayed here many times but not in recent years. They have improved the interior and as always the staff were professional.
That there was miscommunication between kayak and the Hilton about the pricing because I was charged extra
View from the room and location for my needs The parking situation SUCKS. Be prepared for either LONG walks for your car or the expense of valet parking. The long flight of stairs to the lobby is a challenge for the elderly. Otherwise it was a good stay.
Location to where I needed to be. The bar food was outstanding. Young bartender very accomadating. Bar and Bartender very, very busy; manager just standing around not helping out.
Great art deco water current was low. 1 restaurant
The staff/hosts for the dining room were very rude, further more at breakfast time no allocation of staff to specific tables, this caused much confusion,as they did not know who was serving who or clearing which table.
The Hilton on City Ave is making an effort to improve as evidenced by the renovations. Walking off the elevator onto the floor my room was located it is clear that changes are being made. The room looked very nice with new furniture and a modern design for the shower. The beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately the remodeling was eclipsed by doors to the rooms on my floor making a tremendous amount of noise when closing. I was awaken late at night and early by people shutting their room doors. The noise was can be heard through out the whole floor. The front desk staff, while friendly were useless. On 3 separate occasions I asked about a car rental. One time I was told a bellman would call me with details. No call. It was not until the third time that I got the right info. However, the rental options were unsatisfactory ( no fault of the hotel). I could have been given the correct info the first time.
The hotel was available and the staff person that checked me in was wonderful. . I drove to Philly for my aunts funeral. The outside door of the hotel was locked when I arrived which indicates the area is not safe. My son needed cover because it was not in the room. When we called, he was told to come down stairs and get it. The next morning, when we went down for breakfast, there were muffins that were dry and hard, and packaged oatmeal. There was no juice only coffee. In addition, the smell of marijuana filled the hallway. When we went back to the room, I called the front desk for an iron that was working as the one in the room was broken. 20 minutes later, after we were dressed, the iron arrived. If I had a choice, I would not stay at this Extended Stay again.
