Location, smallness of hotel, friendliness of staff, food Separate shoiwer would have been good. The shower over the bath was too low for a man of average height.
The room was extremely spacious, fastidiously clean and the view from the window was brilliant. I could not fault the hotel in any way. It was terrific.
Superb site and kitchen
In the middle of beautiful Val D'Orcia which is one of the World Heritage Sites, this hotel(castle) offers a very quiet but a very pleasant time in Toscuny. Restaurant is expensive but of good quality and all staffs are friendly and helpful. Montalcino, a former noble village too famous for Brunello di Montalcino is located just 10 minutes drive. Unpaved road from the gate to the hotel entrance will tarnish a beautiy of your car. No local restaurant nearby as the castle is literally in the middle of nowhere.
this is the perfect hotel..It is like a dream, and i will come again as soon as i can.. yes...it is complicated to find it...but when you do, it is worth it..
the views were incredible the restaurant was great for breakfast, good for dinner
surrounding environment, nice views, comfortable rooms
Very nice english speaking staff. Carparking on site, room with view over the valley is a must. Nice breakfast. Good pool (not heated) nice pool area with fabulous view. 5 mins walk to town centre. Well signposted and easy to find. Heated pool would have been nice and some sun loungers need replaced but that is a very minor point.
Second visit to the hotel. Excellent location, great breakfast, good parking facilities, lovely swimming pool. Helpful staff No
Location, the lovely breakfast terrace and the magnificent view!
Excellent location, very clean building, excellent service by staff Rooms can be noisy - no soundproofing. This was only a problem on the last night when a noisy group of Amercians were talking loudly in the next room.
the location was wonderful. the view of the tuscan countryside from our balconey was amazing. the staff was helpful
Apiece oh heaven & the pool a bonus Limited parking but minor problem
The parking lot was pretty scary for a standard transmission car!
Beautiful views and great location.
Excellent location. Excellent view from balcony.
Location and quality to price ratio.
Great location in the center of Montalcino. Our room was really an apartment - living/dining/kitchen area with a separate bedroom. Staff was friendly, helpful, arranged a wine tasting for us at the hotel owner's winery nearby.
The booked room smelled and was not totally clean. We were given another room (with some resistance)which was clean, fresh, and nicely done. the breakfast food varied from good (a fresh bread one day, eggs) to inedible (a baked pastry); the restaurant did have enough hint of cigarette smoke that i had to leave early, the owner/manager/cook was a smoker.
The rooms - fantastic The service was at most variable, the check out a disaster
Friendly and helpfull staff View from room
Charmimg room and breakfast. The location is hard to find even using a GPS.
The facility was really very nice. Lots of steps and stairs, which are only a problem arriving and departing with luggage, but not help was offered with getting those items to and from our rooms. The restaurant attached to the hotel was really fine, with a wonderful staff and service. We enjoyed seeing the same staff people we met at dinner out walking on the streets the following days: they remembered us and spoke, which made us feel very welcome among the staff and people in town. Staff could have been more helpful and engaging. Seemed either distracted whenever we encountered them, uncomforatable with our broken Italian (though we and they tried), or something else. Nothing too bothersome, but just a general lack of warmth or engagement.
Nice atmosphere, very typical for Tuscany, with a certain charm.
Lovely location, rooms well laid out; most of staff very friendly; good breakfast. The hotel owned restaurant was also very good and reasonably priced.
San Quirico D'Orcia, (Siena) is in the center of the Brunnello Wine region, 15 minutes from the town of Montalcino. San Quirico is beautiful, quaint, picturesque hilltop fortress/village. Wonderful shops with local goods, restaurants (our favorite, DaCiacco), wine bars, local beer bar, handmade chocolates, beautiful Cashmere shops, and according to my husband the best barber he has ever been to, my husband also rented a road bike and found secondary roads that went by vineyards and freshly plowed fields, he said if Walt Disney had designed a bike ride, this is it. It is so pristine, it doesn't seem real. We love the front desk staff at the hotel, Alice was fantastic. We will be back.
The fantastic suites, the kindness of the staff, the excellent breakfast make this hotel an ideal choice for a romantic weekend.
The room was wonderful, the staff very friendly (!), we liked the entire ambience and ease of the hotel and the garden. Also the restaurant and the breakfast buffet were excellent. No.
Very nice hotel with a great location. The breakfast was wonderful! It is a bit difficult to find with a car as the public parking is outside the village.
The staff and the director were extremly friendly and helpful. The landscape and the small village are just beautiful. The rooms are very nice (and well heated). There are very good restaurants (at the hotel and in the village). It's a perfect starting point for tours to Pienza, Siena, Chiusi, Monte Amiata... And there is also the wellness center in the hotel for treatments (massage, rasul bath...).
Good hotel, in a very charming and impressive location. Nice staff and good facilities.
the possibility to enter the spa straight from our room There were not enough shelves in the bathroom to be able to arrange our soaps, creams, articles for washing, etc.
Wonderful place to stay. Nice atmosphire. Laying in hot spa was very relaxing. Excellent service both in restaurant and reception. No
