It's beautiful The staff weren't super nice and you had to pay for every single thing down to the pool towel
Nice garden and pool, good breakfast. The room was cold, the heating was loud and inefficient.
friendly and helpful staff, nice building design, nice facilities, cleaniness
The best we liked was the staff and the location due to the nearby villages to be visited. Breakfast and toilett supplies could be better.
Beautiful hotel, approx 1 km from Monteriggioni. Fabulous pool with jacuzzi inside. Lovely big rooms. No
iot was terrible .. a holiday inn by teh side of theroad. we waited 45 minutes for our dinner due to a large party which keep us up to 1 AM terrible place. dirty room and run down never again we left early
Overall, Il Piccolo Castello is well located for visiting the various attractions in the Tuscany reason. Hotel staff was friendly and provided good services. Breakfast buffet had good variety of food choices. Dinner was also excellent. (1) Air Conditioning - setting are automatically controlled and shut off overnight unless guest requested otherwise. Room can be hot and stuffy without air conditioning. (2) Some ants in room.
Very little. The atmosphere was very unfriendly. The beds were very hard and it is very isolated.
No storagge room
Beautiful settings, nice rooms and very nice grounds The hotel seems to cater mainly to functions. We stayed 2 nights and due to 3!! different functions in two days, it was not possible to either dine outside by the pool or use the terrace. Guests were not given any option but had to sit inside although it was almost 30 degrees outside!! Also, no effort was put into the buffet for house guests. No decoration, nothing. All the efforts were put into functions (Friday, Nissan and Walt Disney, Saturday night, wedding). If the hotel wishes to cater to large functions then it should have seperate facilities to do this and not at the cost of the hotel guests. Many guests were annoyed and outraged, especially Saturday night.
Professional staff, beautiful surroundings, great breakfast, good location near Siena.
Great setting and beautiful grounds. restaurant service for evening meals was terrible. We never returned after the first night.
The hotel and grounds were beautiful. The staff was exceptional. Our every wish was fulfilled. I can not say enough about the hotel, staff and our stay. We absolutely loved it! To explore Tuscany you do need a car.
We like garden, a lot of space for kids to play, pool, nice restaurant by the pool. Breakfast was excellent. No
Nice place. Restaurant service was nonorganized and poor. The road to the hotel was bad.
This is a wonderful property, located in Tuscany, near Siena, Florence and in the heart of the Chianti wine region. The staff was friendly, the food was great and the ambiance perfect
Rolando at the front desk - sweet man! Tried to be so helpful. The pair of golden retrievers were precious too.
quiet location, beautiful environment, delicious food, elegant furnishings of the room no internet connection in the room; long waiting time for a too big snack
Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere
Comforatable rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Pleasant terrace with garden and pool. Was surprised at first that the hotel had no restaurant, but plenty of restaurants on adjacent square so this was no problem.
We liked the whole package! The hotel is beautiful, the staff (including the owners) were very nice and helpful. The Hotel is located in the very center of the mini medieval town of Monteriggioni!
Conveniently located. Provides many options for travelers. Close to Sienna and Florence for those that want to visit these cities; however, is in the country so is convenient for trekkers.
The hotel is in a walled Tuscany hill town that is very quaint and charmming. N/A
Although the hotel did not have the charm that a smaller or older hotel might have, the facilities were very clean and modern...and met my expectations of a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was extensive. We were traveling with a car and chose the hotel because it had free parking and was within the town walls. Overall we were happy with the choice. The hotel is a bit of a walk to the Duomo...we were traveling with my father who is handicapped (walks) but we were using a wheelchair. It was definitely possible to get to the main sites from the hotel but it was a bit of a chore...additionally, the south side of the city, where the hotel is located, is quite a bit quieter than the part north of the main piazza...I suppose this could be a good or bad thing depending on your perspective.
one of the receptionists, solely on her own initiative and efforts, managed to serve a glass of warm milk at night for our two year old. rooms had no sound proof, basically had to sit up all night to listen to a man next door snooring. the receptionist was rude.
Free parking and easy walking distance to town centre sites
Wifi very poor
The stuff is very polite and helpfull, Breakfeast is very good, and the location is excellent..
The location and convenient use of the car park The small room
Hotel was shopping, restaurants and historic sites. Room was clean and quiet. View from room was excellent. Hotel was relatively easy to find - good thing for GPS and parking was free. Staff where friendly and helpful. Internet worked pretty well. Paying extra for internet.
The housekeeping staff was outstanding,we felt safe in the hotel The receptionist lady linda was extremely blunt with us,and with other guests at several times....working in the same industry we found it shocking.... the noise also was disturbing on the corridor fairly early ...also we didnt like that we got billed for Bed & Breakfast, and we've been told that the breakfast wasn't included in the price.....so we never had it....
The room was great and the view was fabulous.
Hacing a room on the 5th floor made access very easy No tea or coffee making facilities in the romm and the bar snaks were limited.
The bed was comfortable, but the shower was rather small. We did enjoy having windows in both the bedroom and bathroom. The location was perfect - walking distance to all the sights, but far enough away to be quiet. Parking was a huge plus!!!
Everything superb, the food with wellness break - excellent, however staff on reception rudwe - only downside !!
Good location Poor internet speed/access in public areas
It's well taken care of, clean, modern and has a great breakfast. Its very close to the centric streets so you can have the best of being in the centre but quiet enough to have a peaceful night.
Good location, Fair price. Good breakfast. friendly people.
A number of reviewers said that staff was not helpful. We found the staff to be very professional, friendly and helpful. The interior design was gorgeous and the room was very comfortable, lovely, ample breakfast in a very attractive setting. Location was perfect, right at the city center where all the buses meet to go to hill towns, train station etc. Easy walk to Il Campo. Great value for money—we stayed an extra night we liked it so much.
Location very central. Bathroom not well cleaned.
location staff was not friendly, kind of unpleasant
Excellent location close to heart of Siena. Superb breakfast included.
Good location. No WiFi in the room. Small room.
The location of the hotel, the staff was very helpful. The lack of parking place.
Very friendly, easy to find, high quality and in a central location. There can be music festivals in the nearby castle grounds. We were moved to a quieter side of the hotel upon request. There are not many bars etc very close to the hotel, but a short walk away there are plenty.
The breakfast was first class the hotel staff were very helpfull and curteous at all times. The taxi service was very good we did use the pool but it looked excellent we will defently use this hotel again. NO
Location Front desk wasn't that informed about the area and/or didn't want to provide tourist info unless it was about the tours they were promoting
Location is good. Front counter staff is not very friendly. However, restaurant staff are generally friendly and efficiently.
staff unhelpful, location poor for access to city,
Bed, sheets and breakfast Good walk into centre
you felt like you were in a mini resort, though it was still a bus/taxi/car ride into town . It was really hot when we were in Siena and the pool was great to cool off. The restaurant had a nice choice of food and wine and not too expensive dinner didn't start until 7.30 (which is common in Italy - it's not really a critisism of this hotel in particular) which with a young child means they are tired already when it comes to dinner time :-(
Nice hotel with good facilities. Staff were helpful at all times. Room clean and comfortable but rather small, even though we upgraded to a superior room. Further from Siena than led to believe when booking but bus service good.
Great location and can walk into Siena if you are up to it! We had a great view from our room in the main building. Very helpful staff. Excellent free parking. A four star hotel should have real glasses in the rooms not plastic.
Excellent food, excellent location for exploring Sienna, beautiful room and bed linen.
Free parking and the breakfast was good. The view from the main villa was also good. The room was a little too cold.
Staff very welcoming and helpful, especially Edi at front desk, rooms charming, dining veranda overlooks the old city of Siena, great breakfast buffet, attractive evening bar and dining, easy walk to the city. initially given a charming room but overlooking the parking lot, moved to a view room for second night.
close proximity for sightseeing restaurants etc. Helpful staff.
The staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. The Italian breakfast was superb.
Large room. Large bathroom with tub and shower.
Close to city attractions Dining room too small sometimes had to wait for table at breakfast
It gave me a feeling of contentment and confidence that whatever I had at the hotel would be first class. Nothing.
location, room and tours offered from hotel
very clean room, newly renovated excellant location ,over all excellant hotel . there is a young man with shaved head,at front desk ,he was a bit abrupt. also the breakfast room did not have room for every one at once. but it is an excellant hotel for the money.brand new, clean.
Breakfast I could hear the other guests while in my room (meaning, the soundproofing could be improved).
Very good rooms and instalations. Everything clean and new and a lot of space. The staff was wonderful also. The breakfast is good, but nothing special. It´s also easy to park on the street behind the hotel and the best thing is that is free. The only downside is the location, a little distant from the main attractions. You have to walk 15 to 20 minutes.
The hotel was in good walking distance of city centre. There were good local eating places that were used mainly by locals. The hotel was comfortable and very good value. No - there was nothing we did not like.
Quiet, comfortable and cosy.
Great location Finding the hotel by car at night. If we had known to go to the Porto Marco it would have really helped
Very close to city center & Duomo but very hard to get your car to the hotel to drop of luggage. Very hard to get to if not familiar with location.
Very good location. Very nice hotel with friendly staff I enjoyed nice view of Cathedral and Palazzo Publico. Very happy with breakfast. The only problem was noise from the room next door late into the morning. I had quiet a loud woman next door, unfortunately I was in the hotel for 3 nights and so was she and her partner. This sort of thing you just have to live with, it is part of routine hotel experience.
Views from our room were amazing We thought this would be our splurge hotel on our European vacation, but this was one of the more run down places we visited. The decor is dated (unpainted wood furniture and trim) and the shower was just a shower head on the bathroom wall with a shower curtain wrapped around it. The water from the shower got all over the bathroom floor making using the sink or toilet a messy adventure. We were quite disappointed with the overall value of this hotel.. although the location makes up for some of it.
very kind and helpful staff and close to the city center
Spacious rooms - wonderful views of cathedral and countryside
Pleasant and chatty staff who helped me retrieve lost property from local taxi company. Also, their restaurant recommendations were reliable (not always the case in Italian hotels).Clean and comfortable rooms. My room and some others had wonderful views of the Cathedral and surrounding countryside. Cheap use of use of internet. Excellent location near the Campo, the Duomo and the Pinacoteca. Free (Italian) newspapers. Nothing really, except lift only takes you up one floor, you then have to carry your luggage up to the next floor. And the breakfast, as in many three star hotels, is pretty uninteresting: industrial cakes and biscuits, processed cheese! But the coffee was acceptable.
Simple furnished room with marvellous view. Helpful staff. No wireless connection in room. Had to use the hotel connection which wasn't always convenient.
Great location, beautiful period building with grand stone staircase (as well as lift), modern facilities and helpful staff. Free parking 10 mins away. 24 hr reception. Mattresses are 'firm'
Staff Weird hallways
Friendly and helpful attitude of all the staff. Our room was quiet and located off the Via Stalloreggi which is what we had asked for.
very good location, good service,
Quiet area, easy to get to by car, friendly and helpful.
The hotel's building was very unique and different making for a memorable experience. The room and en-suite were clean and spacious. The continental breakfast was fine and the hotel staff were more than happy to provide information about surrounding wineries and places to see. The hotel was well situated between San Gimignano and Siena and the Chianti area could be easily travelled to by car.
Very nice hotel the staff were very pleasant, helpful. Good price, very nice breakfast. Quiet, nice location.
Nice quiet location just a few km from Monteriggioni. Everything was great, but there is no restaurant at CB just breakfast so you have to book the village restaurant.
Everything. The place was set in beautiful countryside with stunning views. It was rustic and charming. The staff were delightful , friendly and helpful. It was peaceful and I loved it. No
Beautiful location in the hills of Tuscany. Close to several medieval cities to visit and vineyards for wine tasting. Good restaurant (not attached to hotel but close). Staff was very accomodating and spoke fluent English.
Although there was no employee in the hotel after 10 pm, the staff was very kind and friendly. Good Breakfast, however there was no orange juice in the last morning. There was no employees in the hotel after 10 p.m.. My room was in the attic, and there was a big stair to get there (I had three big baggages, as my wife and I were in Italy for 15 days). There was an opened pack in the wardrobe with old sliced bread (ughhhhh...). There was a sauna, but we would have to pay to use it! Wi-fi internet didn´t work. Not really a castle, but a big house with a cold water pool in the field.
Very good location. Large clean room. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast in charming room. Room to n front a little noisy
Traveling as a single woman I felt very safe there. The room was very clean, in good condition, and comfortable. The location was easy to get to by the city bus... or a taxi and you can easily walk anywhere. Breakfast was good. There was only one hotel staff member that was actually friendly but all of them were helpful. The bathroom was over-all clean but, I don't think they have washed the metal fixtures for a while. Plus, were are dirty hand marks on the ceiling from someone opening the access space.
the location excellent, two steps from the main piazza where the bus from the railway station stops, very clean, spacious room, excellent heating, they let us in before the check-in time and kept our luggage after the check-out, very good price. the breakfast big, everything a little over-sugared,but it's ok
Very convenient location to all sites, museums, restaurants in Siena. Nice breakfast buffet in pleasant dining room. Room was very drab, furnished with old bed, desk and nightstand, no pictures on the wall, poor lighting. Desk staff unfriendly. No elevator.
Excellent location for central Siena - close to bus station and centre of city. Lovely breakfast room and nice to have in house dining. Staff very helpful and willingly stored luggage until we were leaving later in day. Rooms near lobby were noisy from loud conversations at reception - mainly in morning.
was a good hotel for our one nite stay in siena. comfortable, helpful people and the location although not in the enclosure of siena it was very close to the centre, perhaps around a 20 mins walk to the wonderful piazza el campo.
Location and convenient access to bus/train transportation. The hotel is comfortable and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We will recommend the Chiusarelli to friends and family. Lack of complementary wifi access. Considering the price of the room wifi should be included. Also, recommend shower curtains.
Good location and not too expensive for pricey Siena
Very friendly staff. Good location. Free public parking 10 min. walk from the hotel. Nice building. Breakfast could be better. No shower curtains, so the whole bathroom was wet after taking a shower. No parking at the hotel as informed.
Excellent location, helpful staff, very good food, a hotel with the old world charm yet very modern too
Large clean room, great breakfasts and so handy to everything Staff could have been more friendly and helpful - like give you a map of the town, some information about the hotel, what services and facilities they provide
Close to town centre and very helpful staff
Balcony was lovely and room. Air conditioning was very poor we ended up leaving early because we could not sleep with the heat.
The room was very spacious. I also liked that they had a computer in the lobby for guest use. I was having trouble with my wireless all through Italy, and it was nice to not have to go find an internet cafe. Front Desk staff is not very helpful. I work in a hotel, and I guess have a certain expectation of service. If a guest is saying they are going to walk to the Tour Office to rent a scooter, and that tour office is not walking distance, I would probably advise them. But no, it was a kind stranger on the street who did. Then I had to walk all the way to the train station to grab a taxi.
The location is excellent! We were able to walk to the center of Siena and felt safe when walking back to the Hotel in the dark. We overlooked the back of the Hotel and sun rising over old Siena was magnificent. The girl that registered us wasn't overly friendly and the fellow removing dishes at breakfast removed our coffees while we were up getting more food. The breakfast buffet was great and the lady making coffees was pleasant and did a good job but the busboy was inattentive.
Good location with reasonable price, rooms were comfortable and quiet, some with nice patio / balconey. Breakfast buffet was great. Storage cupboards in the lobby for our bags after checkout. Complimentary computer in lobby for guest use was old had a tiny monitor. Only given 15 min at a time to use and only one computer.
The hotel is a twenty minute hike uphill to the center of things but the view of the backside of the Town Hall and it's walls through French doors and a Juliette balcony make it worth it. Plus, if you have a car and can get a parking spot in the hotel garage the ten Euro extra a night makes it very convenient to explore surrounding Tuscany. The only free WiFi is on the lone lobby computer, which always seems to have a line of people waiting to get on. Buy an Italian SIM card for twenty Euro and get unlimited 3G access for a month.
The rooms were clean, complementary breakfast was good, and the hotel was not far from everything. The shower had no water power.
Courteous staff. Concierge particularly so. good location and price.
the location of the hotel made it readily accessable for all tourist spots we liked everything about this hotel. It was recommended by friends in Canada who had stayed at the hotel three years ago.
The location is great, not downtown, but in easy walking distance to everything in town. Very clean, staff was very helpful.
Our room view and outside area (room 5)
the beautifully designed hotel,a pleasure for the eyes! The staff very friendly and helpfull just 1 thing: that there was no safety handle(bar) in the shower, which is a MUST(my wife fell!)
It was outside the city, necessary if you are driving but very easy to walk or take the bus inside the city walls. No , Hotel San Marco is a modern, clean, well run hotel with very friendly staff, would definitely go back.
I liked the staff and the way we were treated right up to leaving. We dealt with a man who was not friendly and did nothing when we told him the internet we paid for did not work. We liked the parking and the room was fine. Also breakfast and the lady who ran it were excellent. I am a business person and I don't like paying for wifi. In the states I stay at excellent business hotels that do not charge for wifi.
helpful staff location
geat accessible location...free parking. Breakfast chioce limited. AC could not be adjusted below 25, could not keep room as cool as we liked
breakfast is very poor breakfast and some of staf they dont speak english
Location to travel to all of Tuscany was excellent. Centrally located and accessible to the areas we wanted to visit. Difficult to make long distance calls
Very small bathroom and the shower cabin in particular.
Good: The bed was very comfortable; The shower (rainfall type) was lovely; There were some English channels on the Sky provided; The Hotel was quiet and we slept really well. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great for Sienna, with the bus stop over the road and bus tickets from the front desk for €1. Not quite so good: The breakfast was limited, with no hot food. But the coffee was freshly made and very good. There were no Tea/Coffee facilities in the room and no bar or restaurant in the Hotel. There was however an excellent restaurant next door, so all in all I can recommend this Hotel, especially for exploring Tuscany.
Very friendly staff
Quiet, good staff's English, coffee fasilities, fridge The breakfast...
Room was clean with all necessary features. Staff was pleasant and spoke English. Bus outside hotel - 15 minute ride followed by 15 minute walk to old town. Purchase tickets at tobacco shop 100 meters down the street before taking bus. Breakfast was great, more than expected.
Location and cleaniness and especially the courtesy of the staff especially the receptionist. I would advise that cornflakes be added to the cereal list
Location and Parking The staff could have been more forthcoming with city and bus information
Staff friendly and always willing to help (not that they succeed but they seemed to try) Caution : Turist trap!. Never wrote this but quite horrible experience. You pay a 4 star hotel (close to 200eur and get the quality of a 2-star Plus Hotel. Bathroom smelly of humidity, Room not properly cleaned once over a 3-days stay, if coffee powder was finished no replace was given, expensive internet, very bad buffet breakfast, newspaper from previous day (only 5 copies left at 7h30). Very far
The hotel had a very friendly staff. There is plenty of parking. Had air conditioning, although sometimes it didn't work very well. The location would not be ideal for anyone who does not have a car, but we did so it was not a problem. The hotel was also very bare inside and our bathroom smelled strange. The breakfast was not the most amazing of breakfasts, but was passable.
I found the reception staff very very helpful, and very friendly.
Large room, large bed, sound breakfast and everything was clean The fridge /mini bar sounded like and electric lawnmower which woke us up at 4 a.m.
Location, Price, Transportation A little bit hard to find, but we had never been to Siena before this trip.
I didn't like nothing. This was a very bad experience. To much expensive for the bad quality that it has. The price is to much expensive, very bad breakfast, the rooms have no quality... Is a hotel to forget...
The Hotel Staff were exceptional. They made special arrangements to get us to our next destination. We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel and appreciate all they did for us.
Hotel is well situated in the town. The decor is very plush. Welcoming staff. Buffet breakfast is overpriced
Excellent location in the centre of the City. Very impressive building of great character. Well furnished room. Generally helpful and pleasant staff - but see below. Grubby carpet in room. Concierge gave innaccurate information about bus services and quoted eye watering price of 376 euros for 24hr car hire.
staff location room air conditioning
Wonderful hotel with great location in the city center of beautiful Siena small room
Everything was perfect! From the way the old palazzo has been renovated to the non-vulgar luxury around you and from the location to the personnel. It is expensive - but it's worth it to the last cent. The reception / consierge services offered were really good. We think that could be excellent if the the people there knew a bit more about the probable city attractions.
All the staff were efficient, helpful and friendly; not just the reception staff but everyone with whom we came into contact (including those who did not have good English). The room was comfortable; the decor very impressive. The hotel made guests feel special. Only one thing. Our room was just above the main street and the noise from the street continued loudly until the early hours of the morning. On two nights it continued until after 3am and prevented us from sleeping. Perhaps double glazing on the windows would help.
Fantastically located hotel, right at the heart of Siena. The hotel is also beautiful and seems well-maintained. Few facilities: For a luxury hotel I would have expected to find at least some - like pool, gym, etc...? In light of that, found the room rate extraordinarily high - stupidly expensive breakfast not included, internet charged at an absurd rate, €45 per night for parking, no facilities and a relatively inexciting and small room definitely do not justify the rate.
The historical aspect of the origins of Il Chiostro Del Carmine are wonderful and very much in keeping with being in Siena which is a town steeped in history and beautiful buildings. The staff were all very charming and helpful making our stay very special and our visit to Siena a very positive one.
Very pleasant experience to stay in an ex-monastery; has kept a lot of its authenticity. Impressive view from the superior rooms over the surroundings south of the city. Although at the edge of the old city, still very close to city centre. WIFI did not reach to the last room (with the great view) so had to sit in the hall for a connection. Room was on 2nd floor at the end of the hall and there is no elevator. Older people should take this in consideration when they book.
We had a bueatiful view, the staff was great. It was a little warm. We stayed there on the 10th of May, and they don't turn on the AC until the 15th.
The location-centrally located. The facility was immaculate and the staff was very helpful.
The location was perfect. Even had near-by parking that was inexpensive. Breakfast was amazing and the view at breakfast - incredible! Loved the story behind the hotel and our room was charming and very comfortable. The staff was excellent and very helpful. No lift, just stairs.
The size of room, historic nature of the hotel, and staff. Breakfast is weak.
It is in an ideal location and is full of character nothing
An enormous old cloister located right at the edge of the area pedonale. Room overlooking the local countryside. Nice staff, good rate. Bathroom door opened out -- a small point until you try to live with it -- what you get when you convert a cloister into a hotel.
Excellent view from room window Rather noisy from next room probably due to a connecting door
Interesting building with real history. Breakfast served in spectacular cloistered courtyard. Good location for access to major sights in old city.
very nice hotel something diferent than normal hotels excellent hospitality ,location .
Parking no problem - unlike much of Siena! Excellent varied breakfasts. We had difficulty finding the hotel - signposting poor - complex junction off busy roads. We would have welcomed a more detailed explanation of the evening dining arrangements
We were thrilled with this hotel, and found Guglia particularly helpful and friendly! It was the most comfortable hotel of our long week-end (four hotel nights in three places), and had a fabulous shower. The breakfast was wonderful, and the proximity to the Siena historical center was a dream (we did have a car, but I think we could also have walked). It had everything we wanted, including free in-room internet and a place to deposit our car. We would absolutely stay again and will recommend it. nothing at all
the cleanliness of the room and the huge ground for a walk.. very inconvenient to go into town if you do not have a car with you.. Note: i couldn't undo the no for the below question - would i recommend this hotel..i feel it all depends on the individual..for me it was the inconvenience of getting into the campos area..other than that the hotel was a good place for relaxing...very quiet and nice
in our first room we had a broken window. therefore we changed the room were found more than two dozens of bugs. when we came home after dinner in the whole floor it smelt strange - maybe from the house canalisation. it is quite noisy as the highway is just a few meters away.
Complimentary coffee on arrival Lack of coordination between reception and restaurant as to when it was closed or open!
No luxury but everything in its place. TV screen too small.
Helpful - provided good food even though I was a late arrival (10:00pm)
Breakfast was good. Refrigirator in the room. Free coffee and some other drinks during the day and something extra in the evening.
Good value for money, staff were 8 out of 10 for friendly. No restaurants close by so good job hotel food was good.
Very nice location, very helpful stuff.
near the chianti region, very good breakfast, swimming pool, bar and parking rooms too little
Nice pool, nice designer rooms, no to far from Sienna designer rooms not always functional handy.
Free parking. Swimming pool, fitness centre, sauna. Restaurant on site. Short drive to Siena.
location, interior design, facilities, staff helpfulness noise as insulation between rooms is very poor & my room was next to pool where water jet inside pool was very noisy. Also, there was AC leak in my room
The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable and I liked the modern furnishings. We made good use of the available WiFi. The hotel was well placed for those touring the area, it's about 20 mins outside Siena just off the highway. The staff were helpful and polite. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Disappointed with the size and situation of the pool, the hotel is just off the highway in a small village so it is not quite and secluded. The room was showing some elements of wear and tear eg stained carpet, patched side panel of bath.
Nice view, spacious rooms, excellent staff. I have already booked one more week in Montaperti for my next trip to Tuscany.
Clean, comfortable and well situated (close to motorway - but no noise at all). The swimming pool and terrace are nice. International newspapers available in the lobby. The restaurant has a low value-for-money ratio. Service there is very slow. The internet connection is slow and costs 3 EUR an hour; a real disgrace.
Nice lobby and layout. Although modern and clean the construction is not well done and the glass rattled everytime other guests closed their doors. This was disruptive in the mornings.
The hotel was very nice just outside of Siena, price and location met our needs. Hotel was clean and very accommodating. They upgraded our room since we were 3 adults and gave us a 2 story room. Breakfast was very nice. Overall stay was great we would stay again.
The landscaped gardens are beautiful and enjoying lunch on the terrace was an unforgetable experience. There was a safe behind a picture in our room. The staff was wonderful and spoke excellent English. The dining room is lovely and the breakfast buffet was brought to you. Also, you can order breakfast including omlettes sent to your room.
The pleasant family atmosphere. The staff without exception were superb doing everything to make the stay perfect. I liked everything
The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The staff was so friendly and willing to help us with any questions. It was a very nice, yet not stuffy, relaxed environment. It is situated on nice open grounds where our small dog was able to run around freely. Wonderful restaurant!!!
We stayed for 5 nights and this hotel certainly lived up to what we'd read about it. The grounds are lovely and peaceful. The staff were always helpful and the Head Waiter is a gem! The breakfast arrangement is a little odd at first, but is not as formal as it first seems and the quality was superb. We would go again. For a hotel at this price we would have liked to have had the facility to make hot drinks in our room, but to be fair the hotel does not claim to offer this. Given that the majority of guests when we were there were English or American, it is surprising that there were only two English speaking TV channels.
Staff were lovely and the terrace was very romantic Double bed not available, despite request
beautiful villa and gardens, the staff are very helpful and dining experience is fantastic 15 minute bus ride to Siena, however the service is very good.
The setting, grounds and vistas are outstanding and though it is slightly out of town, we easily took a bus into old Siena to see the sights. The restaurant food and service were also outstanding and the room very comfortable. There were some stairs up to a loft/bedroom and the bathroom is on the lower floor. It was no problem for us but could be for others. Getting out of Siena by car is tricky - I would advise that you have a GPS on hand and also take note of rush hour traffic in the morning.
The hotel grounds, gardens and view of the surrounding Tuscan villas were wonderful. The common areas were also very well done and comfortable. The continental breakfast was above average. The room layout (small settee and bath downstairs with bedroom in loft) was unusual at best. Loft accessed by steep, slippery staircase. Would not recommend these rooms to the less agile.
Gardens, room, lounge, pool, sunshine, views, breakfast on the terrace, bus tickets, pleasant hosts and staff, bed was too hard,
The Villa's restaurant is incredible! A bit expensive, but hey, what hotel restaurant isn't? The front desk was extremely helpful to my finace and I with booking reservations at museums, learning the bus system, and booking tours. We loved our stay at the Villa, though it is a bit far from Siena's city center. The location made getting in and out of Siena a bit tough, but I think that's only because my fiance and I had grown used to the tube in London and the metro in Paris, making the bus system in Siena feel a bit more of a hassle.
