The check in was flawless and the room excellent. Nice bed, and almost no noise. Great value. The first room had a strong tobacco stink. It was really bad, but as soon as we call reception, they gave apologies and immediately found another room for us.
The location was really great. It has excellent rooms. Nice air conditioning. Complete breakfast. Check-out was a breeze. No free parking in a difficult zone. The check-in was slow, my electronic booking wasn't found even using the number. Finally everything was OK. There was no one at the SPA to supervise or to clean. Used towels were thrown carelessly around. No bathrobes at the room to go to the SPA. No glasses/cups on the room. Only one glass at the bathroom.
They charged me $500 to do a load of laundry. Never gave me a receipt until I checked out, and had done 3 loads of laundry. $1500 for 3 loads of laundry. Should have been $500 PESOS. Would have been $20 per load. Ridiculous behavior by a hotel chain.
The executive room was very suitable, breakfast was great and overall staff was very customer service oriented. No complaints at all
The Pocitos Hotel is clean, comfortable and is located in a nice neighboorhod.
Breakfast and location Shower
Perfectly located by the ocean, yet 5 minutes esay walk from city center. Nice decor, great lobby for coffee or bier opposite the ocean.GREAT OCEAN VIEW. I came for a business trip and found the hotel meeting and exceeding all my expectations. Elected to stay one more night during weekend. Will stay there again. The hotel is somewhat outdated. I do not like the concrete architecture from teh 70's. The gym equipment was second grade.
View of the River Plate Staff was unfriendly and seldom helpful; hotel is in desperate need of upkeep and maintenance. Food selection at restaurant is mediocre at best. No restaurant on weekends??? No air conditioner because they set to "cold climate conditions" on a set date regardless of what current weather conditions are outside. Hot and no air condition is hardluy expected from a hotel.
The room was OK, albeit a little noisy. The bathroom was well equipped and a nice and strong shower had running steaming hot water in seconds. Check in was quick and flawless. Same as check out. The breakfast bread and cakes and pastry were top notch. The room had a long three panel window which didn't close fully on the sides (humidity was clearly seen on the right side). Voices and noise were clearly audible during the night. The breakfast was standard, no scrambled eggs/bacon/sausages or any hot dish. The place, was an open space with a few tables around. Too business like. We hadn't a free table so we had to use some couches even farther from the place. Wifi was really bad. Luckily it was a leisure stay, because I'm not sure if working or depending on the wi-fi would have been possible.
Fantastic staff from the front desk and porters, to the restaurant staff and maids. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and great smiles everywhere. The location was also great with several of the best restaurants of Montevideo just behind the hotel. The furniture in the room was so stylish that it was sometimes impracticable. The surfaces were matt, and thus showed every bump, scratch etc. so as to appear not very clean. The restaurant was perfectly shiny, though.
Area and staff was excellent Gym is small and no weights over 25 lbs
Well located. Walking distance to nice restaurants.
Staff had good disposition to assist and breakfast was quite complete. Location is good, next to rambla and the montevideo shopping. Pillows were a bit thin and you can hear everything from the rooms adjacent like TV or toilets flushing. Apart from this the stay was very pleasant.
The friendly personal otherwise it is quit average. The carpets are on the used side, need replacement AND the upholstery was truly run down, one sunk so deep into it that one would need a crane to get out of them.
The facilities were OK, the hotel was nice and the breakfast was good. No garage.Expensive (US$ 20) and no room left. The receptionist didn't have our reservation. The hotel charged again the stay so I had to ask for a refund (which they promptly acknowledged). Kind of messy service but overall it was OK.
Staff friendliness and helpfulness. Price was a little high.
I'd have to mention the view... gorgeous view of the bay and sunrise. The room was superb and the bed very comfortable. There was an excellent breakfast too. The bathroom was very well suited but there was no disposable comb or a brush. We were on a emergency stay and we didn't have those on us. No toothpaste or toothbrush either. It'd be nice to have some disposable ones just in case.
The location is excellent and some staff members are really gentle and helpful. The internet connection was definitely bad, extremely unstable. The front desk was notified.
The staff was extremely helpful, prompt and accommodating. Somehow my Booking.Com reservation didn't make it onto their computer, but they cheerfully and quickly found us a room. Great location, convenient to everything. We had a balcony overlooking the street and found the room to be much quieter than other hotels (in Punta del Este and Colonia), (Less street noise) Good selection of choices at the included breakfast. Recommendations for places to dine were exceptional and every single employee was gracious, not one bad attitude. All in all a great place to stay.
Location, price, free parking.
The hotel staff is excellent. The breakfast is made by a bakery, not by the hotel, so expect a delicious breakfast. The room is big, and the window is huge, it takes the whole wall. The hotel is very well located in a very quiet neighborhood, at 10 minutes walking to Punta Carretas Shopping Mall, and it's 30 seconds from the Pocitos beach. The gym is small, but enough to keep up with some morning training, and the solarium is just awesome. The internet connection was kinda poor: by the morning the connection was ok, but by the evening (after 6pm) it was very slow and unstable.
