Hotel d'Aragon - Montpellier - Building
2
9.1 Excellent (195 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hôtel d'Aragon, you'll be centrally located in Montpellier, steps from Place de la Comedie and within a 5-minute walk of Polygone Shopping Center. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a computer station, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. A shuttle from the airport to the hotel is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 1 minutes walk from the centre, this hotel has only just come under new management and our hosts could not have been more helpful. We hope their venture is a success.
Cons: Parking in Montpellier is a nightmare. The local Council of Montpellier clearly do not like cars. Parking is a short walk from the hotel in the underground car park of the Triangle shopping Center. To be honest, access to this car park by road or foot is pretty iffy, by road it is an absolute maze of one way streets and dingy often scary underpasses and by foot its not the sort of place you would want to hang around in for longer than absolutely necessary. Its a shame but this would discourage me from ever visiting Montpellier again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff and excellent rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our flight was considerably delayed and we were unable to make the 11pm check in time, they stayed behind to check us in which removed a great deal of worry, thank you!! .

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very lovely place and very friendly and helpful owners! Just a 5 Min walk to the old city center. Although the building is relativelly old, the rooms are clean and have their own individual charm. We could really recommend staying in this hotel! Lovely greetings!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It's a chic hotel, close to main attractions, old fashion furniture (we love the style). The people from there are more than great! Hope to come back someday.
9.2 Excellent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just fine! :) Clean and comfy place to stay! :)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Bed comfortable, best very good
Cons: Some of the street access / stairs over the train tracks filthy. Not the hotels fault! The city needs to do a better job for this otherwise very nice hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: It was clean, fresh and close to everything. And quiet. And the staff was very nice and seemed like they were giving it their best to make you comfortable and feel welcome. So despite hiccups they're good at their jobs I must say. It was good value for money which is to say you'll like some things and dislike other things. But you get what you pay for.
Cons: Toilet door was an Ikea cabinet door with no handle on the inside and it's right next to the door to the room. And the toilet is approximately a square metre in total. Cramped. Also the receptionist was trying his hardest with speaking English but forgot to direct me to the elevator which was inconveniently located out of view from reception so had to ask where it was which only made him more nervous. Poor guy. Also their system for giving you wifi was over complicated and a frustration to figure out due to poor language skills on their part. Why not just write that stuff down on printed paper? Had to jump through hoops with the tv getting involved in the process for absolutely no reason whatsoever! Just a dumb system.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located near the train station, the room is modern, the staff is friendly and responsive.
Cons: The products in the minibar are expensive.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly. The hotel is clean and tastefully designed. The location offers a perfect base for exploring the old city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful, elegant, and relaxing hotel. Our room was immaculate, clean and spacious ( superior), and beautifully designed. In fact all the rooms have individual, bespoke designs. It was very quiet even though we were under five minutes walk from the Cathedral and old town. The breakfasts were delicious and the staff were warm, friendly and extremely helpful at all times. We had a fantastic time and we thoroughly recommend Hotel du Parc. Thank you very much for making our stay Montpellier so pleasant and enjoyable.
Cons: The air conditioning could be a little more efficient and quieter.. though it was extremely hot when we were there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Alles was perfect
Cons: Niets
7.1 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, it was clean and the location is quiet but near the historic centre.
Cons: The bathroom was really small, the room was dark and a little old fashioned and the bed was not firm which created a dent in the middle of the matras, not very comfortable. The hotel is okay but I expected more for this price.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good firm bed, great friendly and helpful staff, good location. A property with character
Cons: An English tv channel would have been nice. Vegan options for breakfast would have been amazing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Not a sterile chain hotel . Appears to have been an estate at one time. Lovely furnishings and artwork. Nice little breakfast, friendly staff, good location near the tram . Quiet and peaceful, not a lot of young children.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had room 1 which led onto a private patio where we had breakfast Great location very friendly staff
Villa Cemaste - Montpellier - Bedroom
5
9.0 Excellent (177 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at Villa Cemaste places you in the heart of Montpellier, within a 15-minute walk of Comedy Square and Place de la Comedie.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property on initial arrival was not quite what we were expecting but as we settled in it was more than we expected. As we were made to feel so at home, Marie is an amazing host and made our stay extra special... we will definitely be going back.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a lovely, peaceful and welcoming bed and breakfast. Just close enough to the city to go exploring but also tucked away so it is nice and peaceful. Our room was great, with a little garden area and our hostess Yanick-marie was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pool was also such a bonus. The photos on here dont do this place justice as it exceeded our expectations. Would definitely like to stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Lovely host, nice pool, clean room and perfect location.
Cons: We upgraded to a room with AC. If we would have stayed in our first room it would have been really hot and quite small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host was very welcoming and the venue was gorgeous
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is beautiful and clean, the location is great, and everything feels wonderful and safe. There's a kitchen where coffee and tea are for free at any time of the day. The internet is great! But there's more: the owner is the sweetest, greatest host I've met in a while. She genuinely cares about her guests' preferences or needs. She even borrowed me her umbrella so I don't attend my conference soaking wet.
Cons: There is nothing I didn't like, you've exceeded my sweetest dreams!
7.5 Good
Pros: Host is very pleasant. Rooms were pretty large, comfortable and clean. Close to the train station. Neighborhood is a bit colorful, but doesn't feel unsafe.
Cons: Agree with others the booking entry is somewhat misleading. House is a bit creaky. I had the impression I woke up the other guests when I arrived late.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful small B & B with a garden paradise located with in walking distance of the train station and the center of Montpelier.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - It is a very lovely boutique hotel. It is actually a villa and you feel like a guest, not customer. - Marie is a very friendly and welcoming host - The homemade breakfast is very tasty and filling - The location of the villa is good. It is very close to the center, but in a silent place. - The room is quite spacious and has everything you may need
Cons: - Not a disadvantage, but just a small suggestion: A shelve in the shower cabin would be handy.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very friendly and helpful owner. Breakfast was very nice with bread and croissants directly from the bakery.
Cons: The room could have been a little bit bigger and nicer in relation to the price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and I liked the traditional.styling of the rooms. The host is friendly and the fresh apricot jam at breakfast popped in.your moth with.flavour. a traditional feel and the pool was a welcome relief in 38 degree heat.
La Merci, Chambres d'hôtes - Montpellier - Pool
6
8.9 Excellent (196 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at La Merci Chambres D'hôtes in Montpellier (Historic Centre), you'll be steps from La Promenade du Peyrou and 4 minutes by foot from Botanical Garden. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access and multilingual staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely little hideaway in an interesting lively city. Sympathetically restored the interior maintains a rustic charm while providing all the modern comforts. The location is very good for strolling to all parts of the city and close to the tram system. The staff were very helpful. My only comment was the chambre d’hote was a bit tricky to find given the taxi let me off someway from the front door and the signage for the accommodation is very subtle. Perhaps it needs to be this way for city planning reasons. I did not have breakfast but what I saw indicated that it would have been enjoyable
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice apartment, large and comfortable, and decorated in good and interesting taste. The breakfast was also very good and copious, and included excellent croissants and bread, amazing cheeses and wonderful fresh figs, along with charcuterie, yogurt, fruit, eggs etc
Cons: The garden was pretty, but a bit less pristine than the pictures. However when we visited, it was early autumn and so was cool and the leaves were falling... my garden is also less than immaculate under those circumstances! Though the apartment was on the street so there was some noise when the windows were open, the windows were very good and blocked the noise completely when closed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely lovely room, gardens, breakfast and welcome. Huge bed. Stylish room and bathrooms. Breakfast was lovely - various breads, cheeses, croissants, fruit and fruit juices, yoghurt. Good location near the Arc de Triomphe.
Cons: We arrived too early - had forgotten about check in time. They were very kind about it but be warned. Building is very hard to find. Unassuming from outside.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location and room were super. Right in the centre. Close to all the hotspots.
Cons: Swimming pool was closed. A bit of a disappointment already in September. No signs on the street and no possibility to stop your car (one lane, one way street with no room to park) which made it very hard to find. At the end we had to call.
6.7 Good
Pros: Set in a great location close enough to the city to walk comfortably yet distant enough to escape from the hustle and bustle. A beautiful building providing the quaint qualities to fully enjoy A French style B & B.
Cons: Some rooms required a little TLC to include new bedding and flooring etc. Lack of keys to the rooms led to the cleaner not having access to our rooms in order to clean, make beds and change towels. In one room towels not changed for duration of 7 day stay although we had to hand back a set of keys to the owner for room access. The other room although cleaned more regularly was left without a bath and a hand towel for 3 days. The overall experience was moderate and I wouldn’t return. The outside space beautiful but requires a good tidying up to bring it up to the standard required when customers are paying a premium rate. Breakfast pleasant but over priced and appeared to be rationed. Tea and coffee facilities in room were poor not readily available and never replenished. We brought our own from the local supermarket.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was more than nice. Staff very committed and helpful. Very clean and calm room.
Cons: Difficult to get the room warm. No heating, only air-conditioning was barely enough to get the room to an acceptable temperature. A bit of trouble to find the location. Not obvious that the provided address is the location of the chambre d'hôte you were looking for.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful place! Like a small heaven in the city
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was perfect for what I was looking for for as a last nights stay in France. Charming, quiet, and tastefully renovated with just the right amount of care and attention from the host. I would highly recommend.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for old city visit. Friendly staff. 18 century house with lovely courtyard.
Cons: The separate bathroom was along a long corridor with two sets of steps; not practical in the night.
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely pool and garden to eat breakfast in!

Pros: The hotel was excellent value for money. We travelled to see a women's world cup match and the stadium was an easy stroll from the hotel. The tram connection to the centre of town was also within easy walking distance and very cheap. Staff were very welcoming. Altogether a very good experience.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike the hotel was beyond our expectations/
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a great little dog friendly Hôtel we found for a stop over on our trip to Spain. The staff were wonderful and the breakfast very good for the price.
7.9 Good
Pros: The room was fairly small but it was comfortable and clean. The room was on the ground floor so it was easy to access. The parking area was secure and easy to access if I had studied the map more closely.
Cons: There were few options for an evening meal in the area. The location is problematic. We chose it because we needed to leave early and avoid traffic but it did mean that we were out of the centre.
Boutique Hotel Baudon de Mauny - Montpellier - Bedroom
8
8.8 Excellent (255 reviews)
Overview Reviews
This centuries-old townhouse in the heart of Montpellier somehow condenses the palatial dimensions of a country château into a five-bedroom city-centre boutique hotel. Spread over two floors, Baudon de Mauny's sprawling bedrooms couple period features and ornate 18th-century plasterwork with Cole & Son wallpapers, swish modern furniture and a cutting-edge sense of style.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully restored, lovely architecture.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Magical athmosphere - old beatiful aristhoratic rooms with modern designer pieces. Experience!
Cons: I liked everything
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property is absolutely beautiful. It is a historical building in the old city and the suite we stayed at was just breathtaking and incredibly roomy. The common areas are also gorgeous & since the hotel isn’t crowded with only a couple rooms, you feel like you have the whole house to yourself. Attention to detail in the decor makes you feel like you’re stepping back in time.
Cons: There is no room service or restaurant other than a very simple breakfast on request. The property is more like an Airbnb with a concierge service (which didn’t bother us because it is one of the most beautiful properties in Montpellier) but for the price we would have preferred those added services. No lift (which is to be expected from a historical building) but good to be aware of beforehand.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing Beautiful Fantastic art So relaxing in the heart of the city
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really good communication before our stay, excellent quality rooms.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Bed was very comfortable, bathroom shower was great, the hairdryer was very good, and there was lots of hot water. All things needed for a good stay.
Cons: Getting the luggage up the stairs into the reception area is a little difficult but the young woman was very helpful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A perfect little hidden gem in Montpellier's old town. Splendid old palazzo. Furnished extraordinary. Friendly staff and a great breakfast too
Cons: Nothing. Maybe, that you need to walk the last mile to the hotel from a nearby car park. But hey, that's part of the experience and nothing the hotel could change ...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I didn’t have breakfast as I ate in cafes in Montpellier. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and I loved being only a few minutes walk from everything.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A great place to stay for independent travellers.

Cons: The rooms were a little small for a travel with luggage but they accommodated us with a little larger room. The area is a little commercial and you need a car for most restaurants.

Cons: Tiny bathroom but one gets what one pays for.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Manager was amazing. Very attentive and truly interested in making sure the stay is perfect.

Pros: We arrived late but the reception was great - the receptionist at night speaks French but he tried to help out as much as he could. The next morning we were greeted at breakfast by a nice couple (we think the owners) who went out of their way to make the breakfast a great experience. Which it was by the way, including pancakes and self-made banana bread. Awesome! Would book again without hesitation.

Pros: Great hotel, super friendly staff and very close to the center. During check-in, the staff provided us with loads of tips to do in the city. Pros: A charming, elegant hotel run by the charming and elegant owner and her lovely staff. Highly recommended, my wife and I will definitely stay again when next we're in wonderful Montpellier.
Cons: Nothing
4.6 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was good.
Cons: The hotel stuff promised me a courtyard side room, so I’ve chosen this hotel. Yet reception lady gave me a street-side Standard Double Room and she claimed that she had no other free room available. In ten minutes she gave other guests a courtyard side Standard Double Room. I'd shown her my reservation of Superior Double Room (with Balcony) and asked to call a director. After that she gave me a Superior Double Room (with Balcony), a street-side anyway. So, I’ve been hearing the cars and people all night.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff and breakfast was top notch
Cons: No easy access to drop of luggage. Very confusing to get to the door.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful period hotel next to the opera house. Within 3 mins walk of the comedie underground car park. Friendly staff spacious room.Excellent favilities
Cons: Slight smell when you come out of the hotel
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location just on the main square with bars and restaurants a plenty. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We parked in the place de la comedie which is under the main square (take the road leading underground) this worked really well. Car was fine there all night. A short walk to the hotel.
Cons: The bed was really uncomfortable - rather lumpy - pillows were also really really soft - your face kind of disappears!! Not the end of the world and we didn’t bother asking for a different pillow.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Characterful and well run hotel. Efficient and effective services. Good value bar with very good charcuterie and wines.
Cons: Shower: in reality a hand held shower which in a hotel of this standard is not satisfactory.
5.4 Okay
Cons: We could not get a room before 2.45 pm despite arriving at 12 midday. It’s a pity that the entrance is through the bar and the front door has not been repaired and replaced
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent location right by Place de la Comédie - hotel was walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Nice, spacious and stylish room with all expected amenities.
Cons: Staff manners leave a lot to be desired! The receptionist picked up the phone part way through checking us in, and then ignored us when we came back in from dinner later on. Hopefully the broken glass on the main door will be fixed soon (although I appreciate this isn’t the hotel’s fault!).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Personal note from Director in our room on arrival. Room was ready on arrival around early afternoon & checkout was up to 12noon.
Cons: Breakfast in room could have been a higher standard given room cost.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location except for the parking and unloading of luggage since front entrance not accessible to cars Clean, comfortable and friendly staff
Cons: Noisy at night , you have to keep windows closed. Breakfast 17 euros a day per person. Unfortunately yellow jackets trashed the main hotel door made of glass on September 7 th.

Cons: Some furry pillow covers in the room were full of allergens and cat hairs.
6.7 Good
Pros: The staff were fantastic. The room was clean and had excellent toiletries.
Cons: No safe in the room. The walls were very thin. We heard a couple come in at 3.30am and then proceeded to have sex twice in a row. We didn’t get much sleep as you can imagine. ☹️

Cons: Our hosts were welcoming and could give useful information about restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Especially beautiful spacious garden where breakfast can be enjoyed in the coolness of early morning.
Cons: Hot water could have come through rather quicker in the shower (Sunday morning at 7.30 - perhaps I was the first to use it). It did come through after a couple of minutes, nice and hot, so showering was a pleasure.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous inside and out.
Cons: The first time we stayed here, we did not have our giant dog with us. I guess that is why the room felt larger then. ;)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely gentleman working at reception (no name badge) saved us as we arrived in the pouring rain and he let us into the carpark. He was extremely helpful with checkin. We arrived much later than we’d anticipated and ordered Dominos delivered online but they “lost” our order and the reception man was so kind as to call them for us (our French is very limited) and helped us get our dinner. All the staff were very friendly. The room spacious and clean.
Cons: Nothing.

Cons: breakfast no included and very expensive if you want to buy
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice city area. A lot of restaurants or café in the close proximity. Own parking.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location very good, very comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect as we were heading to airport the next day and it was convenient both for trams and the airport bus. We were able to leave luggage in a locked room so could continue exploring the town and eating out without being encumbered by travel bags. We did that both on the day we arrive before the room was ready and after we had formally checked out. For self catering there was a great selection of small food shops opposite and lots of restaurants a couple of minutes way.
Cons: Our balcony looked into the town so if you left the doors open it was a bit noisy. Their locking system was fine but not as fail safe as the door to the room.
7.1 Good
Pros: Great position by tram stop to central area
Cons: Lack of guest welcome - no information given at all regarding area, metro (tickets), map.
6.7 Good
Pros: Great location
Cons: Worn facilities and washrooms are not so clean

Oceania Montpellier - Montpellier - Bar

8.9 Excellent (2,272 reviews)
Overview Reviews
"This character hotel, ideally located in the centre of Montpellier just 2 minutes walk from the Place de la Comdie and and 50 m from the Gare St Roch tram stop, is discovering a new lease of life. We reopened the 26th of December 2016.After a year of extensive work, rediscover the 4-star Oceania Le Mtropole hotel since 26th December. The hotel successfully blends charm with modernity, with a light touch of exoticism, in the spirit of the great Belle Epoque luxury establishments. Behind its majestic faade, the hotel boasts a brand new area devoted to well-being with a hammam, fitness room, massage and a range of treatments, and the relaxation extends through to the Jacuzzi and swimming pool, bordered by the gardens palm trees, providing welcome shade for the terrace. From the hotels entrance and lobby, through the cosy English bar and La Closerie restaurant, not forgetting the prestigious lounges, the decoration has been completely restyled to restore all the venues former panache and character. The high ceilings, frescoes featuring romantic cherubs and prestigious parquet flooring have all been totally renovated to re-establish all the prestige of this magnificent 4-star hotel located right in the heart of Montpellier. Light is everywhere from the broad glass roof of the restaurant to the majestic stairway in the lobby, perfectly showcased by a magnificent and elegant suspension that floats in the air. As you wander the corridors, escaped budgerigars from the high glass roof are perched along the walls, inviting guests to continue their visit to our 96 rooms and suits. The decoration is personalised for each type of room, paying tribute to the different times of day: the warmth of the southern sunshine, a subtle blend of oranges and purples evoking a stunning late afternoon, or the enveloping gentleness of midnight blue and copper of the setting sun. 9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location is great. Room is nice and clean
Cons: Quite expensive
9.6 Excellent
Pros: What a find, we loved this hotel tucked in a quiet street just a few minutes walk from the main square, station and tram. It has been so lovingly converted from a grand mansion, retaining features like the old hoist lift in the stairwell (now an internet cabin) and the gorgeous breakfast room with chandeliers and windows onto the courtyard. We had a basic room that was perfectly quiet (despite facing the street), clean and comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and our favourite feature was the peaceful courtyard, perfect for some refreshments after a long day.
Cons: Just nit picking but would have appreciated a kettle in the room, and some may not like the way the bathroom (but not the seperate toilet) is a glass partitioned corner of the bedroom, but it was no issue for us.

Pros: The hotel has very good location with big public parking underneath. Beds are comfortable and the wi-fi in the room worked really well.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at this hotel for one night to take a plane out the next morning. the hotel itself is very nice... Clean and centrally located... the receptionist was very helpful and provided us with a map. it is important for travellers to know that the old City is not open on Sundays....many Restaurants and most shops. The area around the plaza de la comedie is Less than what we expected...old town Montpellier appears to be in transition. This, of course, is not the fault of the hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel, literally a few steps from the old part of Montpellier and a beautiful promenade, so it's the location that makes it outstanding. In fact, after the terrible approach, we were pleasantly surprised to find good quality and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was adequate.
Cons: If you arrive by car, the approach to the hotel is awful. The road goes through some dark tunnels and bridges and at night it looks truly apocalyptic. The front door looks at those concrete structures and is totally uninviting. I doubted if I actually arrived to the same hotel that I saw at the pictures, and my wife got mad at me that I brought her to such a terrible place. Then we used a wrong lift from the garage and got to an empty shopping gallery from 1980's and had to look for the entrance by foot. Actually, as we found out later, it is the back door that takes you to the city center, but, if you decide to come by public transport, that door is quite difficult to find from outside if you do not know where it is.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location, Price
Cons: Noice from street, Poor BF, there are no RF and safe in the room
7.1 Good
Pros: There are 3 Ibis in the center, don’t confuse. Good location, clean and big room (especially for Ibis).

7.9 Good
Pros: Great location, reception and bar open 24hr
Cons: A bit dated, no coffee making facilities in room, hair dryer too hot to handle
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast. Effective and quiet aircon.
