The room was beautiful and in a great location.
Thw welcome at the reception and the friendly atmosphere of all the staff.very well trained.
Facilities and hotel staff availibility Continental Breakfast quite expensive
This was a very well appointed hotel which was also well maintained. The rooms were lovely. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend to others and stay there again.
Comfort, service & location Charging fees for Wireless connection is quite unacceptable for such hotel standing (like many others)
Upon my booking, they immediately called me to advise that the hotel was under renovation - pool was closed (it was winter anyway), some work outside and inside, but no issue. Cozy room - great staff - excellent breakfast, but at a price of EURO 20. Airco was actually too hot.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. There was free internet use, use of hotel umbrella's and the hotel was perfectly situated for access to get all around Montpellier
The hotel was wonderful, brilliant location, very good helpful staff and lovely bonus of top floor restaurant and swimming pool etc. with views over the city. Very comfortable sumptuous beds.
efficient 24 hour good service & comfortable with adequate fcailities for a city hotel no
Good facilities and friendly staff excellent location
Montpellier is a very fascinating city and Newhotel du Midi with his amazing location just on Place de la Comedie is the perfect place if you want to discover the city center. In the bathroom there weren't either windows or air condition.
location, style, grandeur, service. lack of pool (not expected in a periodic building), noisy air conditioning, lack of tea and coffee making facilities in room.
The hotel was centrally located in the town square and close to the tram and parking. Great location
It's well located The hotel is not family friendly. We were using a pram for our three month old baby and the stairs in front of the hotel make it difficult to circulate. The hotel is on pedestrian area, so we had to carry all our luggage and baby from the underground parking nearby (which also does not seem to have an elevator) to the hotel. The hotel staff did not offer to help, not even once, even though they were not busy at the time. The staff seemed quite inexperienced and was not very forthcoming in providing information about the location. If you have family, I do not recommend staying at this hotel. There are others nearby, as well-situated and cheaper.
Clean comfortable rooms. Excellent location, lovely views of the main square.
The location of this hotel, right on the Place Comedie, is great. For bars/culture/shopping to be right on your doorstep is just what you want in a city break. The car park is very close, under the Place, which was handy. The staff recommended an excellent local restaurant for our first night, Les Bains, two minutes walk from the hotel, and the restaurant next door to the hotel also seemed excellent, though we did not manage to eat there. There is no bar or restaurant at the hotel, and rooms are a little tired. Also, being close to the nightlife has the drawback of being noisy.
The location The hotel's lack of help and flexibility when we wanted to change our booking to a different date. This was due to the uncertainty of our flight departures due to the French strikes. the hotel did not try to accommodate our request in any way. we were not trying to cancel, merely rebook for another date
The location was very central , very convenient to the railway station , and the frequent tram service . great for a short city break Breakfast should be included in the price , dining room not very impressive
Excellent location next to the main square, within easy walking distance from railway station and all sights. Comfortable bed and pillows. Double glazing blocks out the noise from the square. Clean. Spacious, uncluttered room. Pleasant staff. Interesting original decoration. Decent breakfast, although you could get something cheaper and less substantial from a nearby café. Slow to repair things like lightbulbs. Very little natural light in the public areas (but that's just a personal preference).
Well appointed spacious room. Professional staff n/A
quite a grand hotel with beautiful swimming pool. a feeling off 'old world'. convenient for walking to old city.
Location, choice of pillows It's not really a Holiday Inn aimed at individual travelers and their families, but a business/convention hotel aimed at people with expense accounts. WiFi is an outrageous $48/day, with one hour for $16. Breakfast is 18 euros, almost $30 at current exchange rates, completely impossible for the average traveler. Fortunately, there were reasonable alternatives in the area.
The staff were very helpful and courteous at all times. We had a problem with the air conditioning unit in the room. The staff moved us to another room with as little disruption as possible. I would highly reccommend the hotel for it's superb location.
Excellent facilities in great location. Staff spoke English and were very helpful.would definitely stay there again Nothing
Good location, right next to trams and railway station. Close to all main attractions
The staff were helpful and the location was fantastic just 200m fro the train station. Our room was big enough and comfortable but the amenites quite basic. The price of the hotel was great for what we got. Even though it is a 3 star hotel the rooms and the hotel look a bit tired it could do with a bit of an upgrade.
Excellent proximity to town centre
The room was spacious and I enjoyed the bathtub. There was no shower curtain for showering which meant water landed everywhere. Also no real aeration in the bathroom meaning water vapour ended up in the bedroom and water was still on the bathroom floor overnight. This probably explained the smell of dampness in the room upon arrival.
The position of the hotel is just fantastic for a city break. I felt the rooms were small for the price, and the toilet was not as clean as I would have liked. The shower head had no holder on the wall.
good position in city. near station.
Friendly and serviceminded staff, location near city square Lack of minibar, lack of comfortable chairs.
nearnes of city facilties Separate toilet had no ventilation so was inclind to smell
location and the hotel itself. The bathrooms were lovely! It would be good to have provision for making tea or coffee in the room
perhaps show a map of the hotel's proximity to the town cenyre
The location is convenient, and staff was really great! Unfortunately, we don't know their names, but one hostess recommend us a nice restaurant (thanks for Chez Boris), and another one kindly recommended very nice beach (thanks for Petit Travers)! Definitely stay this place when visiting Montpellier again.
The staff were so nice and helpfull. Although a little out of the town centre a tram service passes in the adjacent road connecting to the railway station A little bit basic perhaps for the money
good friendly service internet facility would be handy
Friendly and attentive service, good location, easy access to the city and secure parking. Air conditioning would be a bonus
Hotel only 5 minutes walk from tram stop in quiet residential area. Breakfast very good and substantial although we thought a little expensive at 10 euros, however you don't have to travel far to the centre if you wish to eat elsewhere. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There was no hair dryer in room. Could have done with one as minimal luggage taken on plane to keep costs down.
Particularly friendly staff and a great location. Fairly dated décor and poor lighting in the bathroom.
Good location, cleanliness, friendly staff/owners and above average breakfast (for France) It would have been nice with a hair dryer (which I believe they have in some of their rooms, but not all). The beds were too firm for us, but may not be for others..
very quiet, staff helpful no
The service is more than excellent!! The hotel stuff is always very kind & friendly. They do their best to fulfill any of your wishes!
Nice location in the historic center of Montpellier in quiet side street. The room was cozy but fairly small. Hence it is a bit difficult to move around in the room if you have a lot of luggage.
I quite liked the hotel situation. My room was fine but some our group found the rooms on the small side. The staff were very good and helpful.
almost everything is good nothing
It was located in the old town and was close to everything. The room was extremely small. So small there was no room for our bags and they had to go on the floor at the foot of the bed with a small patch for walking past.
great location in historic area
Very good location. Beautiful veranta for breakfast. The view of the gardens and old university is spectacular but from very few rooms only. Not accessible by car. No elevator. The staff was not very friendly and there was a mistake done by the hotel during checking in, that was only announced to us when checking out in a quite rude way by the girl in the reception.
size and decor of rooms, hotel in a quiet location, but minutes walk from town centre.
Great location in old town, surrounded by great restaurants.
Its old worldly charm plus its proximity to the old centre of town Slight worries about how to exit hotel in fire with excess smoke - otherwise fine.
The personnel and the view from the window. The room decor was a strange yellow... not too pleasing on the eye
Easy booking, good location, friendly staff. Shabby hotel - everything is old and grimy - stains and spots on carpets and bedspreads, overhead lightbulb not strong enough to read in bed, doors difficult to open, garbage pail in the bathroom too small, furniture cheap and barely standing up.
Location is the only thing going for this hotel-- close to train, tram, theater, restaurants. ok for a late arrival/early departure. Difficult to find, no lift, no English speakers, filthy carpet, tiny bathroom, tired ambiance.
central location, cheap price, availability in peak season very small bathroom
Central location, close to station and city centre, restaurants, etc. No lift
Location and parking discount The price was 10€ more than on the page and poor furniture and old building.
Close to station, neat and tidy room. Close to main sights. Aircon. Couldnt communicate much in English
bedding clean served its purpose a little seedy and basic
Good location No elevator
staff was friendly. hotel room with window right next to two large Airco machines: lots of noise. Small room, interior not very attractive. Bed half broken, very small bathroom, the sink touches the door when closed: no room to stand anywhere.
The receptionist was very polite and extremely helpful The beds were quite short and unconfortable if you are taller than 5.7ft.
Literie médiocre mais point fort de l'hôtel. Bruyant, sal, personnel d'accueil désagréable, douche moisie. Climatisation hors d'usage.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent and good value for money. The area the hotel was in seemed a little dodgy, I wouldn't recommend it to young lone travellers as you have to walk through dark empty streets to access it. Also I didn't get any sleep the night we stayed due to lots of noise coming from the street all night long. It was however a saturday night and I'm sure the noise had nothing to do with the hotel.
We required secure parking which was some distance from the hotel and in a basement in Antigone and under half inch of water. After our departure we had to post back the remote control to the hotel.
basic, clean budget accommodation ideally located for easy reach of centre. would use again
Staff were friendly and tried their best to help. More basic than advertised, wifi wouldn't work on 3rd floor. Only one bath towel for 2 people! Hardy any bedding which meant it was cold at night, pillows that were less than useless!
The hotel was conveniently placed for the trams and the railway station. It was also only 5-10 minutes walk to the Antigone shops and the Place de la Comedie. My room was at the back, so it was reasonably quiet. It was also clean, bed was comfortable and the bathroom seemed to have been recently refurbished. Lack of a lift and having to carry my suitcase up 3 flights of stairs was the worst thing. The staff on reception did not speak English, but this just highlighted my own inadequacies.
Friendly guy at reception, fast wi-fi. There was not any aircondition in the room, bathroom dark and very small. No elevetor. I have stayed there because of the location (near to the train station)...but i have seen so many better option for hotels, closer to station and in the same price range.
Good value for money. All we needed was a clean bed/room for the weekend. Could do with an update; particularly the colour scheme. It would be useful if the shower head had something to hang it from! Very noisy early in the morning.
the area the bed
It was in between cities, so it really wasn't a stay I would usually do. All we needed was a bed. So it was adequate.
