After reading a lot of bad reviews I decided to make my own... And I'm glad I did it. The hotel is not new but it's clean, the bathroom is totally renewed which is a plus!! The location is amazing you're near from everything and the price is just right. the staff is super nice and helpful.
Some run down rooms. Must be 50 years old.
Location Updated rooms
Some old, smelly rooms. Unatentive staff.
Size of a king bed room. Awfully small. Shower- Water went all over the place. Noisy
Small Room but Great Value
Clean, convenient, all the needed amenities. Excellent service.
Room was fine for my needs but it is small. If you are not planning on hanging out in your room much, this is more than fine.
Good location in need of an update
Location and staff were good.
Hotel is certainly dated - old, worn carpet, non-flat screen tv's, etc.
Its a City Gem! Its a small hotel, with a lovely staff. I live in Long Island and decided to to visit the city and rent a hotel. The Jolly Madison made my stay so much more enjoyable! I will be sure to visit again.
Jolly Madison towers review
We were able to upgrade to a king size bed upon arrival, the staff were very helpful and answered all of our questions. The housekeeping and cleanliness of the hotel was superb!
It's not exactly close to one train line, but rather all lines are available within a 4-6 block radius. If that is your main mode of transportation, be prepared to walk!
Looking for a jolly ol time
The jolly located on Madison and 38th was exactly what I was looking for, a place that wasn't too expensive but still in the heart of Manhattan. Just around the corner of the Empire State building and short walk to time square. A building full of history, a super friendly staff, and its surrounded by delicious restaurants. The moonstruck dinner across the street is a must try!
I didn't like how small the elevators were maybe that's just a claustrophobic thing but they were tiny. The bath tub was really tall and a little hard to get in to. And the t.v's were dinosaurs extremely out dated
Serves the purpose of a mid-town stay!
Very central, clean, decently appointed, pleasantly accommodated of my late check out request. Room not huge but what one would expect for Manhattan. Good value, at least $75 cheaper than what I expected to pay.
Doors quite thin - could hear TVs very clearly as I walked past other rooms, assume they could hear mine as well.
I like everything. Service was good. Stuff is very nice. Room was very clean and comfortable. Everything was very modernize.
the bathroom was well designed clean and not luxury but good. Bellhop very courteous --person behind the desk tried to get extra 10$ for parking over what I was told for a small suv ( cross over)
the room itself was very small, lacked any style, poorly decorated (begged for some pictures on the wall) tiny tv by todays standards and drab. I know this is nyc but for 270.00 i have stayed at other locals at inns and hotels for half the price and 4x the accommodations and comfort. The word budget not superior should describe the room Guess u have to spend 350 and up in nyc
bellboy was worst!!!!!!!It was not hotel attitude!!!!
very convienent location easy check in/out
bathroom fixtures need fixing
Very European in flavor. The front desk people are classically trained in "European Hospitality"!
Elevators could have been cleaner...counter in bathroom also could have been cleaner...otherwise it was all good.
Although I stayed only one night and cannot fully evaluate it; the hotel was comfortable, very clean and a good breakfast. The location was also very good for me.
I stayed on a renovated floor but when the elevator floor stopped on a non-renovated floor the halls looked shaby. I recommend that one only reserves only in renovated rooms.
The hotell is well located in the heart of NYC. Easy access and the personal was helpfull to get taxi with good price.
Samll window in the room with view on the next wall. Hot in the room , loudy ventilation system. High price for what we get.
The room was good but the bed was very soft and uncomfortable. Overall because we got the room at the last moment and at a budget rate, it was a good value, but again the bed was lousy!
The room was very impressive for NYC. I had expected a much smaller one but was pleasantly surprised. The bed was huge and plenty of room for two. The en suite was kinda small but still very nicely decorated. The location is great as it was generally very quite for somewhere so close to the centre of New York.
The staff though professional did come across as a little cold at times, simple things like the doormen not opening doors or welcoming you. But I put this down to it being a rather posh hotel and myself not really dressing accordingly.
Localization, comfortable rooms, good price
Very central location in Manhattan.
4 star is a joke, The rooms are tiny, which is probably understandable in Manhattan. But room was very poorly decorated, wall paper was old and peeling. Toilet had mould. A/c didnot work in one room, although they repaired it quickly. Tv was tiny, old and colours were very faded. No coffee maker.
