The Washington Square Hotel is a New York City classic in the heart of Greenwich Village just across from its namesake park, Washington Square Park. This is easily one of the most famous and historic areas of the city and it places travelers within easy reach of other trendy neighborhoods like Chinatown, SOHO, the Meatpacking District and even the Wall Street area where the Freedom Tower is located. I LOVE the Washington Square Hotel, and it’s my default choice whenever I’m in NYC - the location is perfect and on every stay until now everything has been great. But they now not only no longer include a light breakfast in North Square, but it’s not even open during the week. When it is open at the weekend, they don’t include breakfast. Pros (+) The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, willing to assist with anything. They gave us a late check on our last day which was especially kind of them. The rooms are very large and the shower is one of the best I've experienced. We did not visit the on-site restaurant so we have no comment on that.
Cons (-) It's long past time that the window air conditioners are removed. And new windows may be required. Whether it's the old windows, or the lack of a seal around the air conditioners, you hear a lot of street noise. It actually seems like your windows are open when they are closed, because the noise is so clear. It would not stop us staying there again; it's just a comment.

Pros (+) Location is perfect for a visit with my daughter, who attends NYU. Close to the subway, too. Room was comfortable and bathroom was much bigger than expected. Breakfast was good, too. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Pros (+) The Staff was extremely helpful and kind, letting me check in a little early and gave me a 1 hour later check out the next day too.
Cons (-) The bed was crazy firm. Like ... maybe good for your back but sort of shocking. (full bed)
