Cons: Nothing
5.8 Okay
Pros: The room was comfortable and clean, well-appointed and with plenty of room. There as a tea service, Ironing board and iron and hairdryer. The WifI was fragile to connect at first, resetting your appliance usually cleared the connection issues, but once connect was solid.
Cons: The restaurant food was poor, had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and it is something I would not repeat. The seating area for the buffet breakfast is easily crowded, as when I was there one bus tour was staying over and it was chaos trying to find and keep a table.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place has clearly had a recent refurb. Very clear and decor is great! Room was very spacious and staff were very friendly and helpful. Evening meal was great and breakfast in the morning was even better! Would definitely recommend.
Cons: My only critique is that the bathroom towels were a little small. I’m a thin guy and I found the towel small after I’d had my shower. A larger person would definitely struggle.

Cons: Their was an offer on for two drinks for five pound on a Sunday ,but we was charged full price for some reason
5.5 Okay
Pros: The friendliness of the staff and the rural location
Cons: Leaking guttering which throughout the night, felt like we were at the side of Niagara Falls. The staff's lack of action when the issues that concerned us were raised. Although Halloween is a few months away, we felt it was a bit early for the cobwebs to be started.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifull building and location, lovely staff. Fantastic value for money and so much nicer than your supposed low cost chain hotels.
Cons: Nothing to say here
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very accommodating staff, helpful and friendly. Agreed to change our booking at the last minute although they did not need to. Lovely grounds.
Cons: Breakfast was good but there could perhaps have been a greater selection of fresh fruit.
6.8 Good
Pros: Went for a quiet rest!!!!! Picked for location, which was as expected.
Cons: Room 18 was picked apparently as we had 'special needs'!!! As we are required by law we had told them that 'while asleep' we would both be unable to hear a fire alarm. BEFORE we arrived! We have always in almost 30 years had very good responses from hotels etc. - these varied very excellent to good, but they always appreciated knowing this fact. Room 18 has very large kitchen extractor fans outside the windows. During our visit the weather was very hot & humid. The noise was loud even with the windows shut. I explained my particular difficulty because of a specific type of hearing loss to the receptionist, she ensured me that the fans went off during the evening & there was no need for us to change rooms as I had requested on seeing the room. Stupidly I believed her! At 11.15pm the fans were still going & I went down to reception again. At this point I was told that we could not move as we had 'special needs' that required us to be in that room!! The room was not set up for 'special needs' - no bath hand rail, in fact it was difficult to reach even the 'bubbled' part of the bath floor as the shower screen even covered the standard hand rail on the side of the bath! The hotel actually states it is not suitable for wheelchair users! So why 'special needs' for us. Only that we were known to be DEAF & wouldn't hear the noise like other guests. So ignorant. So the fans went off at 11.30 & came back on at 7am!!! Wonder which room we would have had if we hadn't told them. Picture of fans available - the window sill (over 3ft high) was the emergency exit, then negotiate the small passage between wall & fan system!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel grounds are lovely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old property set in beautiful grounds
Cons: The bed was too hard for me but my colleague thought his was very comfy so I guess it’s a matter of personal preference

Pros: booked here for cheshire oaks stay, hotel was amazing! we got such a good mid week price, grounds are stunning with birds and rabbits running around :) there was a wedding the day we were checking out looked beautiful! would definetly stay here again for a romantic stay with hubby, room was nice and modern weather was very hot when we stayed and staff had opened windows and a stand fan circulating room for us so wasn't too hot in room when we entered. breakfast brill cooked if wished plus continental. 15 min drive from oaks. excellent stay would recommend
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful grounds, beautiful house. Good facilities in the room. Very warm so fan was brilliant.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location close to the office. Lovely setting, country like feel.
Cons: Sat down in an empty room to eat my afternoon lunch. Was told to move into another room where everyone was drinking and not eating and had to eat off my lap. Why could I not make use of an empty dining table??????

10.0 Excellent
Pros: All good
7.5 Good
Pros: Top notch
5.8 Okay
Pros: This was an average place to stop over night
Cons: There was a smell as you entered the pub part of the building, not sure what it was, possibly drinks had been spilt on the carpets over the years, just not sure what it was, it was only in the pub p art of the building. No air conditioning in room, extractor fan did not work in bathroom. We were in a room at the front, so it’s on a busy road, if you opened the windows, it can keep you awake, air condition is required, it was very warm, when we stayed. Was not keen on the breakfast, it was tasteless, very bland, did not enjoy it all, it was expensive, wished we had gone elsewhere to eat.

The bed was very comfortable, bathroom was a good size, clean and had all the necessary amenities.
Cons: The location is in the middle of nowhere unless you're going to the sports complex or stadium. Dinner in the restaurant wasn't good; the food was greasy and unappetising. It was difficult to get an Uber to come to the hotel but the staff had a recommended taxi service which was helpful.

An excellent one night stay and would use this hotel again as the location allows us to split our journey from Scotland to London to see family. Excellent hotel.
Cons: Just one comment here. The description said extra large double bed. It wasn’t. Yet the twin beds were massive. I would probably choose a twin room instead of a double next time.

Pros: The hotel was superb - and in an excellent location for our purpose. All the staff we met were very pleasant ,attentive and helpful, both at reception and in the restaurant Hotel dining can be one where you wish to forget the whole experience . However, all the 3 different courses that my husband and I had (6 in total)were absolutely delicious, and without fault - the mussels were to die for and were so fresh
Cons: Although we do have reasonably firm mattresses at home, we found the beds and pillows a little too firm - but this is obviously difficult for an hotel to try and please all preference

Pros: Location to where I was travelling, the feel of the place and the rooms were great, breakfast was lovely
Cons: I arrived at 8.00 pm after a long day and an early start of 6.00 am, all I wanted was to fall into bed and have something simple from room service. The restaurant was very busy and a great atmosphere but I couldn't face a sit down meal..... for weary travellers who stay on business trips it may well be worth adding in a very simplistic room service offering. The receptionist was excellent and asked if I wanted to pick a sandwich/snack and she would deliver it to my room which I thought was superb customer service.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location but Nice room but thin walls with noises from other rooms regular.
Cons: Noise from other rooms.
6.3 Good
Pros: It had a lovely bathroom
Cons: The key would not work and I could not get into the reception at 11.00pm to enable me to get it sorted. I had to telephone someone to let me into the room. They then let me in the room and could not provide me with another one. The ceiling light was hanging from a wire which was a fire risk. I had to ask for it to be fixed. The room smelt damp and the beds (Twin) were basic and hard. There was no shower Gel in the bathroom this was broken, the sink plug was broken and a rubber plug was provided instead. TV remote did not work.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole experience was fantastic stayed many times before and always have had great service . Food superb.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff were very nice, we enjoyed the food, breakfast was lovely, location was excellent and our bed was very big and comfortable. Room was large and nicely decorated even though it needed a bit of sprucing up.
Cons: Down points were the poor quality of the travel cot provided, we'd have brought one if we'd known and ended up putting the baby in bed with us. The mattress was thin and hard but what was worse is that they didn't have a bottom sheet that fit so had wrapped a flat sheet around the mattress which of course was loose. Anyone with a new baby knows that a tightly fitted sheet is so important and i wasn't happy to let my baby sleep in the cot. Other poor point was that we were above the kitchen. It was really really loud, and a bit smelly. I ended up going downstairs to ask them to turn the fans off around 10pm, which to be fair they did and it was much better. The room itself had been beautiful at some point but was a bit old and shabby and needed a spruce up, the bathroom especially. Breakfast was charged separately to the room and I'm unsure really if all together it was worth what we paid but it was one of the better value hotels in the area for the date we needed to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff great breakfast evening meal In restaurant Relaxing quiet, ideal location for chester Merseyside and surrounding areas The price of rooms, clean and very comfortable no faults at all

Pros: My window would not shut and there was a ledge that was rotting wood outside and it did not feel safe. The staff were amazingly friendly. The bathroom was a tad unclean but the bed was very comfortable. There was not netting over the window that overlooked the car park so in order for some privacy I had to draw the curtain which were very heavy and the room quickly became very warm.

7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely room & great room service
9.3 Excellent
Pros: There isn't much I didn't like, we upgraded our room to a king deluxe from a double and added breakfast for both mornings. The room was clean, comfortable and a very good size, plenty of Pillows and extra blankets if needed, we had air con in our room which was fab as it was a warm weekend. The bathroom had a shower and bath which was great as many only have showers now and toiletries were included. We ate in the restaurant/bar our first night and the food was lovely far better than I'd expected so I'd recommend eating there if your not out and the breakfast was a buffet style with good options, you can also have room service. I would stay again and try and use the spa facilities as we didn't get chance this time.
Cons: I'd definitely ask for a back facing room next time as it can be a little noisy at the front and especially as we were nearly above the reception and I'd of liked a softer mattress as it was a little hard and uncomfortable for me but my partner loved it.

Pros: Self checking in and out was an inconvenience as I am dyslexic and not very computer literate. Returning at night also proved difficult as myself and other guests could not access the building with self service and had to wait for a member of staff to allow us access.

Pros: Breakfast is good. Staff very friendly without exception
Cons: More restaurant choice needed
6.8 Good
Pros: Very clean and sky tv
Cons: No air conditioning in our room only a dyson fan!
6.8 Good
Pros: The location was great for the concert that we were attending in Warrington. The new bar set up looks great Carol on reception is a shining star in a sky full of total dullards!
Cons: Staff in the bar clueless! They have removed phones and air con from the rooms but nowhere does it tell you this nor how to order room service.... apparently its 'through the app' but if that keeps crashing what do you do, go hungry that's what, because trying to get served at the bar was nigh on impossible. We did move rooms and the lady on reception did her very best to help us but having stayed here many times previously this stay can only be described as shambolic!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The meals in the restaurant weren’t value for money and the service was very slow
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were excellent, very friendly to my son.
Cons: Taxi didn’t show up. The hotel deals with a certain firm, they are useless
6.8 Good
Pros: The decor of the room and the pool
Cons: The reservation system was not very good. I booked through booking.com many months in advance and on the morning of the booking when we were travelling to the venue for a surprise party I had a message to say the room had been cancelled. I rang the hotel, it turned out to be the central booking office for Village Hotels, the lady tried to explain why but I didn't really understand why and I have never had this problem before in the many times I have used booking.com. The lady from.Village Hotels central bookings tried to put me through to the hotel directly but they did not answer and she guessed this was because guest were busy checking out. Luckily after a six hour drive there were spare rooms at the hotel when we arrived.
