Poor customer service
Location was great Cockroaches in room Room needs renovation Shower ran cold water
Even though older hotel and furniture clean room. The bathtub was cleaned spotless. Suggest to roach spray the laundry room. I went to get ice and seen one running on washer.
The only good thing about this place is the location. Really close to the MGM grand hotel ( walking distance) A/C never worked properly, the tv is an old box and remote control never worked. The whole room is outdated ... Room is very small. The light in the restroom stop working.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Outside perimeter could use so attention.
Close to the strip. If you get in late at night, the guy in the front desk will say your card is getting declined for the $50 deposit so you need to leave a $100 deposit cash.
Nothing Everything. Upon arrival receptionist inform me that there was no room for me and to contact the company i booked it thru cause it wasn't their problem. The lobby smells bad and hotel looks really scary. You see lots of drunks with protitutes in and out, doesn't feel or seem safe to stay there especially with children, and it wrecks!!!
Decent location for the price. Room was clean Staff was very rude. Beds are very small and uncomfortable. No hair dryers in rooms.
The ease to RTC public transportation to the Strip was totally necessary as the escalators on ALL four sides of the intersection of SLV & Tropicana Blvds were closed for refurbishment and these old knees can't handle 4 or more flights of stairs. Especially on hot afternoons. Otherwise it's usually an easy 10 minute walk west to the Strip. Took the 119 south from the other side of Motel 6 to Mandalay Bay to start my day there. Staff and housekeeping were pleasant and friendly, and they did their best with this old, but convenient property. Also easy access to McCarren Airport, a 5-minute Uber ride to the departure gate. Only reason to stay here is easy access to Strip on foot or by bus. If you wish to be pampered stay at any of the MGM properties on the Strip. Another plus is Coco's Bakery Cafe in from of ABVI. They're open 24/7 and the food is reasonably priced and good. Since I only paid $35/night without any additional resort fee add-ons, I wasn't expecting much in the way of amenities. This place is absolutely free of any luxuries, expect hostel-like bare minimum furnishings, i.e., a bed and some fresh linens, that's it. The WiFi was never available on my side of the building (facing the airport). Airport noise could not be heard over the old noisy A/C unit, the only good thing about the A/C as it was never truly cold enough to cool the room. Since I had to leave early for a 6am flight out of Las Vegas, you would think hot water for shower would be plentiful at 4am. Nope! I let the water run for 15 minutes and still no hot water. Even at a hostel you'd get hot water and a decent amount of water pressure. So if you stay here, hope you don't mind cold showers from time to time. As a side note, after midnight and during the overnight hours, the streetwalkers seem to move off Las Vegas Blvd and onto Tropicana. Generally the property seems safe enough if you keep aware of your surroundings but otherwise could feel unsafe and unclean. But since I paid hostel prices to stay off-strip for two nights it was acceptable compromise.
It's walking distance from the strip great place to stay if you only want a place to sleep and recover from partying My room was separated but my another door and I could clearly hear the people next door as they could hear me. Rooms are crowded if you get a double bed, once you open the door to are paractically on top of a bed. No fridge, no microwave. AC needs to constently be on or else the rooms smell. Bathrooms are old and nasty they need repairs. Some electrical sockets don't work.
Pre-booked price was somewhat reasonable.(possibly too much) Staff was freindly and helpful during the days, (tattooed escaped convict looking guy at check-in was not pleasant at all though). -Shower alternated between blistering hot to ice cold. -A/C barely kept room below sweltering. -Not even a bed cover, just 2 sheets w/ a thin blanket between. -Complimentary coffee at Reg. office only. Enough to fill about 4 or 5 of the tiny styrofoam cups they provide. -No place to prepare or sit to enjoy your coffee either. -Got there a day early, and was charged nearly double the online pre-booked price for the extra night.
Pre paid stay an they we're fully booked fit understand why they will let you pre pay your stay an be fully booked! Couldn't get a room!
Closeness to Fremont. The fact that they sent me to an side building and not their main hotel. Which meant I had to park in a public parking lot which lead to my car getting a ticket. Which now I have to fight to get it cleaned off my record. All because of either the incompetence or maybe they did it on purpose of the women at the front desk who gave me the parking pass and putting the wrong date on it. I was tired from the drive and did not check it, so now I have that ticket I have to battle to get cleaned up. So I would NOT recommend this hotel!
Recently renovated Longest check in process in my entire life. And I was the only one the agent was checking in! Asked for a quiet room, got put on a floor where people were arguing in the halls and banging doors all night Front desk originally granted me a late checkout but told no one so banging on my door the minute after normal checkout commenced. Clogged sink. Had to use the bathtub to brush my teeth and wash my face.
Very helpful staff; very clean room; comfortable and light-filled lobby sitting area. Hotel phone was not working: calls went thru an intermediary ("The Oasis") though answered professionally; so it was not possible to reach the Front Desk directly; only way was thru email; there are also no room phones, which was not per se a problem for me. Ventilation fan in bathroom was quite noisy.
I tried to find outlets next to the bed to plug in my phone. Couldn't find any. There where two lamps next to the bed. I wondered what they were plugged into. Turned out nothing. The lamps where just there for decoration! Turned out you didn't need the lamps. There was a lamppost directly outside the window that lit up the room. It felt light late evening with all the light a out. I didn't realize this until it was late. I just went sleep. They need to provide curtains in that room.
The location is awesome. Room isn't awful. Super cheap. No blankets (or fitted sheets).. in the middle of winter. Not filthy but not real clean. Shower temperature fluctuated by like 10 degrees at a bare touch.
The room was clean. I was guaranteed a price of $25 and it ended up being $55. It's frustrating when you're on a budget and a website lies to you about the price.
Loved the proximity to old downtown Vegas!! You could not control the water temperature when showering, it would either be too cold or too hot. Once adjusting the handle would give you the same result.
Retro (art deco elements). Older building/room is refreshingly basic and has authenticity. Very close to Freemont street yet quiet block. The bedside lamp cannot be turned on unless the overhead light is on
The only good thing about this place is the location. Kinda shady but manageable. The rooms were very basic which for the price is expected and wasant a big deal. They never answer the phone and if they do they are extremely rude. Extremely bitter and unhappy employees. Our toilet seat has some red sticky dried liquid on it. Kinda gross.
The resturant was good for breakfast. There are many better locations of hotels in Las Vegas-- this location was in a questionable area of town. Competition would dictate this property be spruced up some. Some plumbing issues in our room was a detraction.
The location - quiet but not far from town, the room and the swimming pool! The staff in the adjoining restaurant where breakfast was taken were rather brusque and unhelpful.
close to downtown casinos Carpets need to be improved
It was very guiet and peaceful. The beds were very comfortable and felt like heaven. My fiance and I love the fact that you provide coffee and coffee pot in the room as well as internet service. The entire staff were very pleasant and my fiance and I will definitely be returning more visits to your the Best Western/mainstreet. Thank you so much. Especially for the two complimentary beers!!!!!!
Nice staff, good value, free internet and printer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the money it was good - would be nice to have refers in rooms
These hotel is very quiet and the hotel staff were very friendly to us. We could use the Internet free. The hotel hade a washroom. Our room hadn't a fridge.
Last minute booking at a fairly reasonable price
location is the one thing I liked about the hotel I did not like that housekeeper ignored my sign "Do not disturb" and inter my room anyway twice, even though I called the manager and complained. Frankly, I was afraid for my life. The hotel had a very poor security; extremely noisy environment and on top of that horrible smell of the room. I would not recommend this hotel.
Great staff, very accommodating. Great location. Amazing value for how close it is to the strip. A convenience store and diner are very close to the M6. The non-smoking room we were put in had been smoked in. Harsh air freshener used to cover/remove the smell, which gave us headaches. A pimp woke us up by pounding on our door on Sunday morning, looking for one of his pros. While there is security at this location, it still doesn't feel safe. No hot water in sink.
Room looked nice. Thermostat in room 169 didn't work. Heat didn't turn off when it reached a certain temperature. We roasted, then froze.
The location. The House keepers were awesome. The hookers. The drug dealers. Pimps. Police all day am night . The office staff was rude an tried to over charge us. I was asked several times if I wanted so dope or if we wanted to have a good time.
Their employees were very cordial and friendly employees showed a lot of emphaty when I told them of my misfortune. when I checked-in they informed me of the security guard Very convenient location -motocycles were riding in the parking lot in the middle of the night -I felt very unsafe -If you are going on a business trip this is not the place you want to stay - towels were stained
I thought for the price it was great, and it was a short walk to the strip, which is very cool!
Great service, helpful friendly people.
Rooms were clean and well set up. The shower in closure could have been larger.
The modern feel to the bathroom was good. The room was lacking a bathtub, which I love taking baths more than showers, as well as not having an alarm clock or hair dryer.
Close to everything we wanted to see &. do. Management & front desk employees are very pleasant. Paying for W-Fi is so dumb. 4 ice machines & they all had problems working. Came back 2 room one day & maids had come in and cleaned it. Witch was nice but was not ask for service.
The staff was great ... Took care of my needs and went out of their way to be helpful!!! There was no refrigerator or microwave! The room was very small and the shower stall was rediculously small.
The location is close to the strip, which is great. But it's still a sketchy area. The room was pretty cool for a Motel 6, unlike any other I've stayed in... kind of an art deco by Ikea thing going on. Staff was friendly. Cheap and close to the strip. Bad area. There was a shooting or something when I came back from breakfast. Place was flooded with dozens of cops, ambulances, perp face down and cuffed... on property and 20 yards from my room. Take two steps off property and start the gauntlet of bums asking for money every 15 feet. Really noisy with bad soundproofing. I tolerated it for two days, but LOCK YOUR DOORS HERE, car and room. This place was more than a little sketchy. Oder of pot in a few places... truthfully that smell didn't bother me and people that choose to smoke it are fine by me, I'd rather have potheads in the room next to me than whomever the cops arrested yesterday... but illustrates the kind of place it is. I would never stay here with a family or children... even if it were free. Smallest shower I have seen outside of an RV... no joke. Made no sense, ton of wasted room in the bathroom, but you get a funky 3x3 shower. Biggest disappointment was a per day charge for WiFi. I don't think I have had to pay extra for internet access in the US since 1990-something... caught me off gaurd. It's 2016, I honesty assume free WiFi today. May as well charge a few bucks extra for towels. Apologies to the friendly staff, but I will never back here.
Location is great. Staff is nice. Plenty of parking WiFi should be FREE. No complimentary bottled water to make up for the poor decor choices!
They had really hot water, newish furniture and new tv The staff were horrible, multiple customers with complaints including one couple who had to call the police to strengthen things out. It has potential but right now it is over priced, under staffed and pretty run down.
The breakfast, clean and comfortable room, and the service. The location made it difficult to drive in and out of the Super 8.
Nothing Everything The room was crappy, there was not enough linen for me and my wife. The staff said they didn't have enough linen for two guests only one. Neither of the lamps worked in the room. The ice machine didn't work - It was 108 degrees outside. There was blood stains down the walkway past my room and two others. The front desk person didn't return my drivers license until the next day after I checked in. I truly wouldn't ever stay there again. Nor would I recommend this to anyone...EVER !
Nothing Room was nasty. Asked for more Pillows they never brought them. I would sleep in the car before staying there again.
Price, that's about all you could like. Location was decent for working at the drag strip. Booked double queen, got single bed. Front desk guy during checkin was slamming his keyboards. Apparently it was too slow and he was angry about it.
close to where I needed to be The area was terrible; looked like drug deals were happening all over. The hotel staff was fine; the hotel is run down and needs upgrading.
When we checked in on 11-26-14 there were no hand or face towels, no ice bucket and no ash trays(had a smoking room). I had to go down and get the things myself because the front desk clerk said he couldn't leave. Also needed more breakfast items to choose from. The beds were the most comfortable I ever sleep on in a hotel. If I'm ever in the area again I will make reservations for this hotel.
Nothing This place was a dive
Nothing Could not find anyone there!! I was waiting for someone to help me out and no one was there, very irresponsible
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel
Very shady neighbourhood, hotel seems to actually be a cheap apartment building. Flimsy door lock. Staff seems afraid. Bed was clean, but the rest of the room was dusty, bathroom very old, kitchen dirty.
Nothing! Took my payment twice, nobody at the lobby at 7:45AM to take my keys back, chaotic at check-in my room was not available.... Prostitutes on the the next room....
It was clean for n the most part, employees were nice, pillows were comfy. I would go there again... The Wi-Fi wasn't so good, I was in the top 200 area rooms so not sure if I was just far from the server or what but the hotel next to us had higher bars, they say they have queen and king beds, but in my 2 queen bed room was 2 full size beds so they lie on that which isn't THAT bad but again overall isn't to bad I'd go there again.
DO NOT DO BUUSINESS WITH THIS HOTEL!!!! I stayed one night for about 7 hours in transit while waiting to catch a plain. Reserved and paid for hotel through Kayak. Upon arriving it took 30 minutes of paperwork and a $100 deposit. I was told someone would be on call upon my very early check out (5am) and would come unlock the office door to complete the process. Needless to say no one was available at 5am so I locked the key cards in the room and called the hotel later that day to confirm everything was fine. I was told my deposit would be released later on that evening. 10 days later and countless phone calls where I was assured they were "looking into it" I have still not received the deposit back. I filed a fraud case with my bank so hopefully the money will be returned. So with that in mind I can not in any way reccomend doing business with theses people. It will not end well for you.
We got there by 11pm, haven't had dinner by then, went to the Jack in the box across the street and the whole ghetto was there. Not a safe zone at all. Plus it is far from the strip. For the money we paid there, I'd rather pay the Buffalo Bill which is further from the strip, but is cheaper and way much better hotel. The zone where it is located and the facilities. You can certainly get better service for what you pay there. Honestly I wouldn't go there again!
The staff at the reception was nice. It was surprisingly affordable. Nice deceiving lobby. Location is very sketchy. Occupants in the other rooms were hanging around drinking and smoking...That was scarily questionable. Rooms were very dirty and smelly. It almost ruined my stay.
I had a very good experience with a very friendly staff. Can only say good things regarding this stay. It was a bit chaotic at check-in, but this was explained due to overbooking by booking.com.
Stayed here for two weeks. Bed and bathroom were very clean. Shower had plenty of water pressure and was hot. Wi Fi was decent in the far-top corner room. Very decent price and right next to the front gate of Nellis AFB. Staff at the front desk were pleasant. Carpet was stained very badly. TV was not hooked up. Cracks around the door meant that I could hear every person walking or talking outside. Fridge was set up on a circuit so that when I left the room, it would turn off, spoiling any food left in it.
typical motel 6 tv had poor reception, hotel wanted us to change rooms instead of attempting to fix or replace tv line. with disabled mother and wife in tow this was not a viable option. noisy with dogs barking in cars
Price Safety in the neighborhood, there was no security present at the hotel or parking as there are a lot of carjackers and prostitutes who try and either steal your car or offer you there "services". On our first bight alone after leaving our room to eat from afar I saw them scoping our room and almost try and brake in after I saw them and ran back after which they ran away. This did not matter much at all as their group seemed to scope the motel regurlarly anyways. The motel area and the security provided is not good unless you stay in your room with the deadbolt on. Furthermore the cleanliness was poor when it came to the floor and some of the towels.
Cheap To much cleaning smell
Staff was somewhat disorganized but very friendly & helpful. Said they "took security very seriously" when we noticed how the guard & their security monitor having twice as many cameras as most banks. Cheapest rate available for last minute bookings other than hostels & another motel with a horrible rating. Not far from downtown. Next door to a much bigger casino hotel that had an OK buffet. Wifi not free, and even paying the higher $4.99 rate per day, it was unusably slow speed. Was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but had clearly been smoked in a lot (smell). Sheets had some dark smudges (maybe cigarette ash), towel was dirty. Bathroom counter hadn't been cleaned. Housekeeping didn't come in during our stay even tho front desk asked if we would like them to. Plumbing noise from neighbors taking shower or flushing toilets very loud. Couple sketchy looking guys wandering around parking lot, seemed to be passing thru. Lots of security and specific policy about evicting people if they had non-guests in their rooms after 9pm suggests they've had a lot of problems here in the past.
