Good hotel. Royal Beach club is a good offer, but subject to ''hard sell'' from reception desk. Rooms are OK, not that big. Note: no Kingsize bed room with bath (shower only!).Excellent service. Food is good.
I've heard a lot of positive review about Westin Nusa Dua, and now I know why. From the time you walked in, the staff will make you feel that you are the special guest. They were warm and hospitable. The idea of making the kids also a special guest made this hotel my prime destination for family vacation. The hotel it self was superb: the grand lobby, main pool, the beach, kids pool, kids club, sun loungers and cocoon everywhere, sport facilities etc. The room was good. It has a modern and destinctive design, although the balcony was too small. The buffet breakfast was great. Lots of varied food. The were two downsides I would say for this hotel ie.the depth of the pool. I mean, who wants the pool with more than two meters deep for leisure purpose? The other one was the kids activity program at the kids club. They set different activity in the different day. We were there on Saturday, but my son couldn't get the rock climbing and fishing activity because they were on the other day. Saw a disappointment on his face. Overall, it was really a pleasant stay.
Hotel staff was very friendly. Rooms are nice and clean. The prices for food and drinks were very overpriced. Entertainement at the pool is nice but not to much to do at nights. Hotel is far from Kuta and no shuttle bus is offered. Only way to reach is by taxi. It is a nice hotel if u are looking for absolute quite and peace. Otherwise it can be boring after few days.
Melia Bali is a great place to spend holiday with family with young children. The ambience is great. We spent a lot of time around the pool. The staff is excellent. The whole place looks lively and happening Very few options for Veg food. A bit of painting job on the doors and furniture
The gardens were beautiful. The outlook from the breakfast room was very relaxing. Great size swimmimg pool. On the beach. Freindly staff. The dark brown cieling in out room had a crack in it and a web which was there all week. I Mrs Redman slept with the light on each night. As I was not sure what had made the web and what might be living in the crack.
The location and grounds are perfect, with lots of entertainment and choices for food (often preferable, if a little boring, to stay in the hotel and eat rather than risk "Bali belly" on the outside). The staff at the kids club are patient and friendly, and happily occupied our 7 year olds for several hours. Rooms are good, good buffet choice at breakfast. Do the nature cycle ride, and vary your restaurant choice. All good. It can be tempting to stay completely at the hotel as everything is there, but try and travel out.

The kids club was excellent to keep our 2 young daughters during the day. They also had some good water activities in the morning - aerobics and water volleyball. The rooms were expensive for what you got. All the restaurants were not good value for what you paid - overpriced. The beach was dirty and not a good place to relax at. The pool was okay. I will not visit this resort again with those prices. There are better deals elsewhere.
The breakfast was amazing. Lot's of choice. The hotel itself was very big and grand. The beach wasn't great.
I could relax, read my book, use the gym and swim in the sea at high tide. The quality of food was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. You cannot see the sea from the pool which is a pity, too many sunbeds crammed on the beach/pool, nasty drain smells outside room, breakfast room was hot and too much gamelan music every day, wrong location for families with teenagers who want to be nearer Kuta for shopping, food/drinks were expensive for a family of 6, different prices quoted for taxis into Kuta by the hotel staff.
Hotel has a very nice garden inside. Nice rooms, a truly 5 star hotel for just 115 USD (the hotel rate on the spot was actualy 15 USD cheeper than booking .com's rate). generally, everything is great. Note, that this hotel is especially good for those who wanna enjoy swimming in a calm environment, the real life is in Kuta and you have to pay around 40,000 (private car)-70,000 rupis (blue bird taxi) for one way to get there. Kuta is also closer to all major sites on the island. Bear that in mind!!! The only sad thing - Internet costs 10 USD per day (sounds too much for me). Two times the cleaning staff forgot to replace the dental kit in the barhroom.

Non-working room phone, ants in room, cockroaches in breakfast buffet area, no alcohol in in-room mini bar, leaky bathroom faucet, ineffective A/C, lack of organization and coordination amongst staff and departments, management attempts to backtrack on promises. Three star hotel at very best.
It was the perfect exclusive abode to continue our honeymoon experience. We honestly had a wonderful stay. The only thing we could fault is the limited breakfast but that was very minor in the scheme of things.
Great place for vacation with breath taking views, ocean, etc.. Food & drinks are very expensive in the hotel. Only one restaurant open during the day. NO other activities (like shows for kids, evening music, etc..) in the hotel other than swimming pool.
I liked the beach, and the design of the hotel Choice of restaurants and food limited, and the fact that breakfast was included with the room at the booking.com price.
The pool and the thematic dinners The ladies at the front desk (reception) were not very helpful and had trouble understanding english. They didn't seem very aware of their duties and responsabilities. On the other hand, during check out, the staff was very high standard
It's a beautiful place! Great views and great swimming pools. Very romantic! 1. The seawater along the beach is actually quite dirty. After a few minutes in the sea, I couldn't stand it anymore and had to go back to the swimming pools which were very clean and comfortable, but hey we are at the beach and isn't it shame that you can't swim in it? 2. The internet service is not good. You need to pay a lot to have internet in your room. You can have wi-fi in the lobby area but it's really really slow and they cut it off at around 9pm, so not convenient at all. 3. The slippers are too fragile. My husband's and my slippers were both broken during the first day.
My son was married at the hotel and I was most impressed with the service of the staff, their politeness and the facilities. I was most impressed with the young woman that checked me in for breakfast most mornings. As with all the staff she was polite and cheerfull. the remoteness from the action spots like kuta and legion but this could also be a good thing. Maybe a shuttle service to these places would be a good thing

Brilliant location, right on the beach. Food was good and relatively inexpensive in comparison to the room rates.
The rooms were very spacious and very comfortable beds.My Spa treatment was very good and very reasonable. The a la carte restuarant was very disappointing. We did not return after the first meal there. The hot water was only tepid all of the time. We noticed maintenance works going on but parts of the hotel did appear to be tired looking.
The location, the beach, the room, the environment... No jacuzzi in the suite.
The staff were very friendly and the whole experience was relaxing and a great pamper! Some of the guests should learn how to be civil to the staff. The French were particularaly rude.
I stay alone in a seaview room, but in reality many palm leaves hide the sea. It is a spacious room with LCD TV and a good shower plus whirpool. This is quite expensive rate for such kind of room
We thought it was a great location, the prices for drinks & dinners were too expensive compared to outside restaurants. Happy hour was not what was expected, not really discounted, our shower was not cleaned the whole time we were there, which was dissapointing. Activities were not advertised clearly within the hotel to express your options as to what was available to you.
Dogs on the beach :) The hotel was nic but a little bit old. The bars and restaurants were closed before the set time. The staff was not alweys polite.

none, the staff was rude. They didnot honer my reservation. I was given what was there which was very low class very dirty. The towles were black from so many uses. incsects were every where. I had to put my shose on top shelve to make sure nothing gets in it. I had to leave
Aston Bali is a reasonable hotel on a now rather overpriced island. The standards of accommodation have really gone up over the last 10 years, but then, so has the price. Keep your expectations low and you will be content. The pool is quite large and seems to be clean. There always seemed to be a sufficient number of deckchairs available. Breakfast was quite good albeit monotonous after a few days. There is a gym but we did not use it. The rooms are quite large and all seem to have balconies. Air conditioning worked well and the televisions are decent sized LCD. Rooms came with mosquito repellent bats but we did not find these particularly effective as we were still eaten to death on two occasions. Wear bug spray to bed! Aston has a dubious process for processing credit card statements. Upon arrival we were asked to write our credit card details on a piece of paper. A scan of the card was also taken. Unfortunately, Aston seem to have some less than trustworthy staff as by the end of our stay, our credit card had been canceled by the bank due to the appearance of $900 in online gambling charges. The card had not been used except for this hotel booking so it is safe to say the details were taken from the hotel and used fraudulently. Recording the card insecurely is unprofessional and the hotel should improve this process. Losing a card while traveling can completely ruin a perfectly good holiday! Additionally, bathrooms could be kept cleaner.
Grand Mirage is what you would expect when staying in a spacy 5 star beach resort! Rooms are ok and have seaview, the pools are fine, there are enough and comfy beds around the pool and beach area. Staff is busy fulfilling your needs and they make sure to even clean up tiny leaves that drop in the pools. Breakfast buffet is absolutely excellent! The live music from the Panorama lounge is really loud, stops at 23.00 and can be well heard in the rooms above.

We had great days in Grand mirage, Rooms were perfect only please remember to ask for third or fourth floor rooms if you want great view of Ocean, Breakfast was complete and you could find everything, facilities were great with friendly staff. During check-in they gave us two vouchers of welcoming drink but when we wanted to use it the waiteress gave us half glass instead of full, when I asked why she told me it's the instruction from the manager!! the behaviour of that guy was rud and if really their management gave this instruction I think it's not proper decision.
It was a good stay. We had for a ocean view room. But we were allotted the room in the ground floor. So we could not enjoy the ocean view. So please ensure to get the room in the third or fourth floor when you book for ocean view.
The hotel was clean, cool and quiet. Its location on the beach was perfect, with the afternoon sea breeze taking the heat out of the afternoon sun. The room was excellent and the shower had heaps of pressure. There were plenty of sun lounges on the beach and around the pool and the waitstaff circulated constantly checking if you needed anything (both drinks and food). We moved to the Grand Mirage from a hotel in Legian, for the piece and quiet and thats what we got. The hotel food was of a good standard, if not a bit pricey however there are plenty of restaurants on the street outside the hotel. In fact the best meal we had during the 14 days we were in Bali was at Cardamon just down the road from the Grand Mirage.
The staff always smiling and nothing was too difficult. Our 1st room obviously had smokers in previously and the smell permeated the room, however, the staff were very obliging and we were moved to another room. Well done.
Nice location - on the beach. Lots of activities - pool aerobics, water volley ball, beach yoga, kids clubs etc., Great breakfast The beach, due to the low tide, was not great. I was given the impression that the beach is private. However, there were plenty of solicitors who disturbed our privacy and secure feeling

A small hotel away from the huge informal 5 star ones. The staff are pleasant, the pool area is lovely, the spa is great and not expensive. The private beach is fantastic but about 20 minutes walk from the hotel. Excellent restaurants and local shops are very close. The shuttle bus to the beach only runs every 2 hours - hourly would be better.

staff were great and very helpful. great pools and spa. the place has a nice bali feel about it. a nice breakfast each morning. not to big and busy. the hotel is in need of a bit of money spent on maintenance, both lifts were not working. timber handrails to the pools were rotting and unstable. tiles in the pool were loose.
I enjoyed the serenity of The Grand, it was very balinese, retained much of the baliness gardens,and furtniture. The pool area was good. Not a large hotel which I liked. Breakfast was also good. Staff were very friendly. Even though the Hotel was a short drive away from the Beach Club, and the shuttle is meant to run every two hours, they were quite flexible. Beach Club was very relaxing, good hay umbrellas, very friendly massage ladys, Nonna very strong. The Bed wasnt the best, you could feel the springs. The beach was a little rubbishy, but there were constantly people there cleaning it. Apart from that couldnt complain about anything else.
Though beach was far from hotel, we didn't need to go cuz internal environment was perfect! We got upgraded room(Pool villa), was not good for us, company collegues but I think honeymooner will love that. Nice service, nice weather, nice price, nice room. Considering of everything, it was perfect Beach was pretty far (10min by taxi) and no shower in the beach.
very out dated a bit disappointing
The hotel is very quiet. The interiors are very nice and relax. Good spa, but expensive. Helpful staff. The beach club doesn't good enough - there are no wc rooms, sometimes showers don't work. And the main problem is the clearness of the beach: 1) there is municipal beach nearby and it's not cleaned at all; as the result all garbage sooner or later swims to the hotel beach 2) the beach staff don't take the garbage in time and it's swimming in the sea. But if it was not windy the day before the beach is very nice.
We spent the last two days of our stay in Bali in this hotel. Rooms were very nice. Clean and big. Service was nice. We liked everything. The hotel is not just close to the beach but it has a private beach were you are transported by a shuttle bus (about five minutes route). We rented a motorbike nearby that we used it to go to the beach and visit other places.
The rooms are quite big, and in fairly good order as opposed to other hotels that have not been maintaned or left to run down through out the island. The staff are quite friendly and tend to rememebr your name and are more than willing to help with an enquiry you may have. The buffet breakfast was again better than other hotels i have stayed at in Bali. However i still find it very American with a poor selection of breakfast cereals. However the fresh fruit and pastries and eggs cooked to order on the spot are great. If you want a good coffee you'll have trouble finding this in Balil in general. If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle then the Grand is a great option. It's only a 3 minute walk down to the shops or restaurants. Our stay was extremely pleasant except for on departure where there was a miscommunication between the reservations manager, ourselvses and booking.com. Booking.com informed us that they had matched an alternate websites price (we found one for $11Us a night cheaper elsewhere). Upon check out the hotel had not been informed and a small argument/re-negotiation of our price ensued. After a 30 minute wait the Grand staff were slightly reluctant but pleasant enough to match the quoted price. There is no gym, and the hotel doesn't connect to a beach, however its only a 4 minute motorbike ride away or 25 minutes to padang padang. Overall i would happily stay here again.
