Located in Lakehead, The Inn at Shasta Lake is in the mountains, a 1-minute drive from Whiskeytown Shasta Trinity National Recreation Area and 5 minutes from Lake Shasta Caverns. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: It’s location-nestled in amongst the trees. The ambiance was so charming, and very quiet.
Cons: There isn’t anything we did not like.
Pros: Nice breakfast and garden ,comfortable bed and bath shower.
Cons: Except the small garden , no place to go around.Though in a small forest, but due to surrounding by hwy and railway,a little noisy in the night.
Pros: A very cozy setting with easy access to the highway, though you would not know it. Very peaceful. The hosts have thought of every comfort and convenience. The facility was remodeled recently and they chose high end faucets, doors, beds, linens etc. I would recommend this to all my friends that may be planning a trip to the area.
Cons: It’s a bit of a drive (5 miles or more) to get to a store or restaurant. For dinner or lunch you might want to plan your day accordingly.
Pros: Location. Price with (very fine and filling) breakfast included. Owner's sincerity and graciousness throughout. Well thought out plan for the property. Proper safeguards for the inn and each room. No hassles. Comfortable atmosphere.
Pros: Beautiful setting and a delicious breakfast.
Pros: David, the innkeeper was very friendly and helpful, full of knowledge. The grounds are beautiful and our room was very comfy. We very much enjoyed our stay and yes the eggs were fluffy.
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and the facility is a first class hideaway. Services are some distance away so come prepared.
Pros: The location is great, especially if you plan to travel around the area (it’s near the freeway) — property is lovely and secluded, easy to feel at peace at. Rooms are a bit close to each other but that’s to be expected. The staff was good (when around) and cleanings were great.
Cons: The only complaint, and it’s not their fault, is that we did the booking through booking.com and never received our pre check in email from the B&B and as a result my girlfriend wasn’t able to get her dietary restriction in on time for her breakfast
With a stay at Bridge Bay Lodge at Shasta Lake in Redding, you'll be on a lake, within a 15-minute drive of Bethel Church and Whiskeytown Shasta Trinity National Recreation Area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Great value. Convenient off of free way. Perfect half-way stop between Portland and California's Central Coast. Pretty view from property. Could see lake from room, but with trees, which was fine. My kids liked watching the trucks cross the bridge. The rooms are older and reminded me of my grandma.
Cons: Tiny shower.
Pros: We came late in day but called. Staff not helpful. When we arrived Curtis was great but keys did not work. Web did not tell us food closed for the night
Cons: Didn’t help us get dinner or tell us guard would be there to get us our room
Pros: Great location, great self catering facilities.
Cons: Nowhere to eat nearby, thought Cookhouse were open (as advised but they weren't, they are not part of resort).
Pros: Restaurant called "Cookhouse" served good food. Room rate was reasonable. Location was fantastic. Beds were comfortable. Staff was generally helpful especially for during the reservation stage when I made a special request to keep the room close to lake or parking lot since my father has a hard time walking. Overall had a wonderful time for the three days we were there.
Cons: Patio boat we rented was not properly inspected before given to us. Bolts were missing from the canopy poles so it made the boat unstable. We were given boat time again the next day but that was at our insistence instead it being offered by management. We had a fun time the next day on a better boat. I wish they had made a ladder available because getting into the patio boat after swimming in the lake was difficult. Our room was not properly cleaned. Dirty towels were not picked up. Beds were made hasitly without changing any of the sheets. The room's shower head pressure was weak. Otherwise the room exceeded my expectations
Pros: The view out our window of the lake was fabulous. The boat moorage was close and convenient. Nice spot for trailer parking as well. Plenty of ice is available for coolers and drinks!
Pros: The view from the room.
Cons: Room keys failed three times had to drive down to the office each time.
Pros: Great location. Older but clean
Cons: Lack of internet service. Bathroom shower was extremely small.
Pros: The view, the easy check in, the convenient parking,
Cons: Food was greasy. Tv to small and bad location to bed. Lack of a table in bathroom to place my wife’s stuff. Older room needs refurbished
Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had 3 rooms and only stayed one night but we came back for our last day of vacation, rented a patio boat and enjoyed the day and stayed over that night.
Cons: The beds are a little firm for me but others in the family thought they were fine.
Pros: This is an old motel that i had stayed at ~45 yrs ago. It shows it age from the outside. BUT, the rooms had been remodeled, very roomy, and were clean. The entire staff at the marina, parking attendants, check-in, and housecleaning were very nice and accommodating. The restaurant served a really good dinner and breakfast, and the bartenders made good drinks. I must admit that I did not come with high expectations, but was pleasantly surprised on how much we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this resort for groups of friends and families. The central location makes it easy to boat to any of the Shasta Lake arms or to the dam.
Cons: If you overlook the outside appearance and the tight parking situation, there really isn't much to NOT like about the resort.
Pros: It was very clean. The location on the lake us the best part.
Cons: I had changed the date of my arrival through booking.com but resort had not received the change notice. They had charged me a no show fee but since they had rooms available they switched it to a one night charge. It took 2 desk clerks and the manager to figure this out and make it right.
With a stay at Shasta Dam Motel in Shasta Lake, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Bethel Church and Redding Civic Auditorium. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Nothing about the hotel
Cons: Everything, advertising was very long ago, nothing close to what it is now.
Pros: It was close to the main highway and surprisingly quiet. Therefore it was perfect for a one night stay as I was finishing a 6000 mile road trip.
Cons: Lighting in the bathroom
Pros: Value location just north of Redding off I-5 with many fast food-ish places within walking distance. The staff is helpful and the location has a relaxed feel.
Cons: The location is a bit older as would be expected for the price. If you are looking for the newest renovations in a room, head to one of the chains in Redding
Pros: The owner/ manager is very nice, the room was very clean, and the bed very comfortable (comparable to Best Western, and better than Baymont Inn).
Cons: As other reviewers say, it is older, and some will look at the appearance and think it is unclean. Sure, it could use remodeling, but I am happy it was clean and comfortable and at a fair price.
Pros: The location was great nice & quiet.
Pros: It was no smoking
Cons: This motel was rated as a three star but it was definitely no more than a one star. I don't know how that happened. Very run down, dirty, rude front desk, smelly... we were very surprised and uncomfortable. We would have left and got a refund if we could.
Pros: No Breakfast
Cons: Location and convenience
Pros: I like the location very much, and the comfortable beds. After a day playing on the lake, it is great to have clean sheets and a hot shower. We adore the people that manage it, and they do a great job. We travel with dogs, and they are very accommodating to our needs. I recommend this place to everyone!
Cons: The gas grill could use an update, but it works!
Pros: My fiancé and I were traveling with our dog on Christmas and at the last minute we decided to stay overnight rather than go home on the same day. We found this place, which was convenient to get to and accepted pets. Parking directly in front of the unit, a nice stretch of lawn next to the building where my dog got to run a bit, and though we were only there while it was dark, it seemed to have decent grounds (didn’t use the pool but it looked ok and there was an area that looked like you could use it to grill out). It was clean, warm, and easy to get to right off the highway. It’s right next to the highway but I don’t remember hearing highway noise and I’m a very light sleeper.
Pros: Great location next to a beautiful little creek and despite being adjacent to the freeway did not hear it much. Fridge and microwave in room, pool was the perfect temperature and wonderfully refreshing
Cons: Shower nozzle wasn’t adjustable and let out little water Some furniture and fixtures show great amounts of wear and use but were very clean despite their age (bathroom sink paint was refinished but had peeling paint, wire for lamp in room was repaired with electrical tape)
Pros: Cute little old time motel.
Cons: Beds were rather hard.
Pros: Dated but quaint.
