Pros: Good location. Room is big and clean. It has a small kitchen that is very convenient
Cons: The village where this hostel is located doesn’t have any good restaurants nor any (if not good) public transport
Pros: - Kitchen is very well equipped - Shuttle to the starting point to Trolltunga is available
Cons: - Some small difficulties communicating with staff
Pros: Free laundry and kitchen facilities.

This apartment hotel is in central Røldal, 42 km from Odda. A fully equipped kitchen, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private balcony are standard. Wi-Fi and on-site parking are free. Pros: Beautiful view and balcony. Well furnished but a few details missing: no hooks nor rail for towels impossible to open the windows so flat was unbearably hot. Alongside main road so noises are night. Triple bedroom is with bunkbed ( the bottom is 1,5 Size) which is a bit too cosy with grown kids. A bit pricy even for Norway.
Pros: Great place in a beautiful surrounding! Amazing place to stay at if you're planning trip to Trolltunga or the glaciers around. Close to the shop and to the center yet surprisingly quiet :)
Cons: Some hooks in the bathroom to hang towels would be useful :)
Pros: Excellent view! Really really well-kept. Kitchen and bathroom were sparkling clean and had everything. We cooked all our meals in the kitchen without a problem.
Pros: The rooms are spacious. The view in the back is unbeatable. It is a no-frill accommodation; but we have got everything we needed, and we certainly enjoyed our stay.
Pros: Easy and efficient late check-in, great location in a beautiful valley
Pros: Great panorama from the balcony. Nice room and tv set.
Cons: the bed room was for 2, but had 4 beds. no space at all for luggages
Pros: Balcony, view and price
Cons: Quality double bed was not too good
Pros: Beautiful view, huge room, great price, friendly host
Pros: The facilities were exceptional and the view was even better. Was a pleasure to stay there.
Cons: A couple more chairs on the balcony would have been nice as the dining chairs provided got very hot when taken outside.
Pros: Location was Nice, room was clean and well accessible.
Cons: bed room had very little space for 2 beds, linens and towels were extra
Located in Odda, Hordatun Hotel is in the mountains, within a 5-minute drive of Roldal Skicenter and Roldal Stave Church. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Be careful /They sale family room with view only for marketing purpose-in real room is inside cirkle buildig B with view on building A and personel doesnt understand that it is not fair .
Pros: The view from the balcony is awesome. The room was clean.
Cons: The equipments in the room are really minimal, almost no decoration. Not cosy at all. The buffet looked akward (we decided to cook ourself in the room) and the breakfast was really cheap: bad coffee, no fruits and disgusting delicatessen.
Pros: The view from the restaurant and also from the room we stayed in was fantastic.
Cons: luckily we had accommodation here only for one night since there was a very loud noise in the room all night (like a broken ventilator but louder).
Pros: Great place for stay. The staff is very kind, helpfull and doing their job very well. The hotel itself is one of the best places where I have ever stayed. The room (I was stayed in) had a small kitchen with fridge, cattle, and hotplates - basically with everything you need for cooking. The area around is perfect to sightseeing. Their restaurant serves a good food, very delicious - 9/10.
Cons: There are some small construction going on, they start their work around 7:30. So, if you want to sleep longer, it may disturb you. ON the other hand, you do not come there to sleep until midday.
Pros: The view was spectacular. The rooms were spacious and clean. All seventeen of us have voted it our favorite place to stay so far.
Pros: Anne is a really nice host. Awesome apartment with comfy furniture. I've had a great view also. Breakfast was and they serve something for dinner too. Good pizza.
Cons: Directly nearby the street. Not exactly a quite place when room is facing to the street.
Pros: View is very good.
Pros: View, location on the side of E134.
Cons: No body gel/ shampoo in the jar of shower room. The cleaner left a vacuum cleaner in the room.
Pros: Apartments with Kitchen, bathroom, living room and bed room. Simple, but everything that you need. Very friendly, warm and helpful host.
Cons: Røldal is in the middle of nowhere. No shop, Restaurant etc close to the Hotel, but absolute ok for a roadtrip through Norway.
When you stay at Hardanger Hotel in Odda, you'll be 7 minutes by car from Norwegian Museum of Hydropower and Industry. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The outlook to the fiord. Spacious room and great breakfast
Pros: The view, the location, the room, the staff and the breakfast were perfect!!! We had a great time there
Cons: Everything was great
Pros: We left after one night, the second night was refunded.
Cons: Old, run down hotel. The first room we got was so worn down we asked to get another room. In the second ( renovated...) room the shower was very slipery and uneven and my spause sliped and we had to spent the evening and next morning at the Hospital due to a broken tow. Weather was hot, no aircondition and no fans either.
Pros: Clear, comfortable hotel. Good location. The staff is very polite and professional. Everything was perfect. We received useful information about interesting sites in the surroundings. We shall come back and recommend the hotel to others.
Cons: Curtain doesn’t work smoothly.
Pros: Excellent view from the room and cleanliness
Cons: There is no mini bar
Pros: The room was quite big for a standard double, and the shower was really powerful.
Cons: Furniture in the room was dated and a bit rickety. Breakfast could have had more options too.
Pros: The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very complete and had everything we could ask for. The room we had, had a view over the fjord which was very lovely. The hotel is also easily accessible and there is plenty of parking space nearby.
Cons: Unfortunately during the two nights we stayed, very loud music was played during the night by a nightclub nearby. Since we stayed to hike the Trolltunga, perhaps a fridge in the room would have been nice to keep food and drinks cool during the hot days.
Cons: Poor shower. Tired 1990s decor. Impossible shower that floods the whole bathroom.
Pros: We reserved a single room plus an extra bed and we got a double room for the same price.
Cons: The hotel was nice and location in the city not bad but nothing special. The problem is with the town. Unless you want to hike, there is nothing else you can do or see. Odda is a small industrial town.
Cons: The road were close to the hotell with a lot of traffic. Lots of noise from bars and open spaces near the hotell.
Pros: Friendly staff, excellent central location , comfortable room and enjoyable breakfast facilities
Cons: noise from neighbouring bar late at night
Pros: Very nice hotel with good restaurant and nice staff. Localization in the city centre, between mountains and fiord.
Cons: Everything was OK.
Pros: We arrived late in the night and the owner of the hotel was very welcoming. Hotel has a parking for ~15 cars in the front of the hotel and big parking lot behind it. Rooms are not very cozy, but they are large and clean. View from the windows overlooking the fjord is excellent.
Pros: Large, comfortable room with excellent view over the fjord
Pros: We were upgraded to extra large business room with great view at no additional charge, nice.
Pros: nice clean room with a perfect view
Pros: The view, the accommodations, the desk clerk's helpfulness
Cons: Self-serve coffee/tea in room would be a treat
Set a 10-minute drive from Røldal Ski Centre, Seljestad offers cottages with a private terrace or balcony with views of the Folgefonna Glacier. Låtefossen Waterfall is 10 km away. All units at Seljestad Cottages have either a kitchenette or a fully equipped kitchen. Each has a living room with a seating area and cable TV. In summer, fishing, hiking and bathing are possible activities near the cottages. Cross-country skiing trails are found right outside during winter. Odda town centre is a 25-minute drive away. Røldal Stave Church is 20 km from the cottages. The Buer Glacier, an outflow of Folgefonna, is 25 km away.
Pros: Chip stay
Cons: Durty and uncomfortable cottage. Unfriendly host
Pros: I stayed with a friend and my son and friend (both 15 years old) on our first hiking trip to Norway. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and exceptional value for money, particularly in such an expensive country. We went with the intention to hike to Trolltunga and the location was perfect.
Cons: Towels and linen are extra, but we took our own and was not a problem
Pros: We planed visit TrollTunga. Seljestad Cottages is good quite cheap alternative to reach this attraction. Reasonable price, good condition of house. Clean.
Pros: Would recommend only if you need cheap keeping close to Trolltunga. Restroom in the cabin.
Cons: Lady in the front desk was absolutely impolite. Yes, we arrive 2 hours late then we expected. But she started to scream and said that this is not your problems and she is not going to spend her time for us. This is not a service at all. She could make online payment with my card and just leave the keys like other campings do, but they even do not have online payment and no WiFi!!! In addition- very very old lines (sheet was with a lot of holes). And for these lines you need to pay.
Pros: Quiet, relaxing, no stress when checking out
Cons: The tall grass, it was a bit demanding to drive up not noticing the holes in the swing :-)
Pros: Very good location and very clean.
Pros: Nice cottage with all necessary facilities and a stunning view of the Norwegian landscape from the private patio. Close to the main road, but the (sparse) traffic is not bothering
Pros: Seljestad Cottages is a perfect place to stay if You want to go hiking to see Trolltunga. It takes 40 minutes to get there. The owner is very nice and helpfull. Houses are clean and worm, equiped with everything You need to prepare meals and drinks. It was my second time to stay there and it was a good option. The view is beutifull and the surroundings are nice and quiet. For this price You get really nice place to stay.
Cons: Boiler so the amount of hot water is limited.
Pros: A very convenient location for hiking in Folgefonna region. Within 30-40 minutes of driving there are plenty of interesting mountain trails. The cottage is cosy and has well equipped kitchen (including waching machine).
Cons: It would be great if WiFi was there...
Pros: Silent location :)
Cons: Cash only :(
When you stay at Trolltunga Hotel in Odda, you'll be next to a golf course and 10 minutes by car from Norwegian Museum of Hydropower and Industry. Featured amenities include luggage storage and an elevator (lift). Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Friendly staff. They waited for us after the hour of checking. We got a comfortable room. Comfortable bed. The view from our window was amazing: river, mountain. Breakfast was also good.
Pros: The food was delicious! Loved the salmon with pasta. The staff were kind and helpful. Free parking at the hotel. The hotel was supposed to be smok-free!
Cons: There were no hot water in the shower.. After a long hike you want to shower.. The walls between the rooms were thin, so we heard people talking and walking. We had earplugs. People were smoking outside our hotel window... Big minus!!
Pros: Good location although noisy due to nearby road.
Cons: Very small room. Window opened over bins - hear chatter of kitchen staff on break and rubbish being thrown in bin. To be fair I think our room was probably the smallest. Others looked larger
Pros: The hotel was very convenient for Trolltunga hike. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food at the hotel restaurant is superb!
Pros: Great staging point for those who want to do trolltunga. They start breakfast early to facilitate your hike. Getting parking at Trolltunga itself is still a race though. Ideally, if they could start breakfast 30mins earlier, that would be even better!
Cons: Too expensive in relation to equipment. There is a kettle for tea, but no cups. No floor towel to prevent slipping There is no place to put things in the shower
Pros: We had the small double room. At least for one night, we found it spacious enough. Everything was clean and breakfast was good.
Cons: Expensive considering the size of the room.
Pros: We were in Odda to do the Trolltunga hike and the staff was very helpful in giving us advice for the hike and scheduling a taxi for us to get to the guided tour on time. Clean facilities and good free breakfast.
Cons: Only part I didn't like was that the wifi didn't really work in the room, we had to go to the lobby to use it.
Pros: Friendly helpful staff, small but good restaurant, beautiful views!
Cons: It's a bit of a walk up from Odda itself, but a beautiful one! It's also a stop on the shuttle to Trolltunga which is really helpful!
Pros: Good location with the shuttle bus picking up just outside the property. Breakfast is good. Nice and clean. Pretty good restaurant. Definitely would stay here for Trolltunga.
Pros: Newly renovated rooms with a nice view of the fjord
Cons: Staff were not so friendly, breakfast was very basic
Pros: Nice place with kind, helpful and flexible staff! Clean, and spacey rooms with good ventilation (a big plus after spending a couple of days outside, needing to dry tents, clothes etc.) and air conditioning. They let us store bike and luggage early in the morning the day we checked in. Perfect place to arrive during a bike tour and a trip to Trolltunga.
Cons: The food in the restaurant was mediocre and it was a bit pricey to make a “matpakke” (lunch box) at the breakfast.
When you stay at Tyssedal Hotell in Odda, you'll be by the ocean and 7 minutes by foot from Norwegian Museum of Hydropower and Industry. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The breakfast and dinner were both outstanding, the location near Trolltunga is perfect, and the hotel has been modernized without losing its original charm, as it is about 100 years old.
Cons: The doors and walls are just a bit thin, and in a place where people are out trekking at all hours, it can disturb sleep a little. However, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Staff was excellent.
Pros: The hotel was wonderful. We had dinner in the restaurant which was fantastic
Pros: Friendly staff, nice view
Cons: Very small rooms, the bed was of very bad quality and hard to fit two adult People in. The price was way above what could be reasonable (even for Norway)
Pros: Lovely Staff on reception and in the restaurant. 10 minutes from the hike.
Cons: There is a huge titanium and iron factory right in front of the hotel. It is very much operational with fires and fumes and huge noises middle of the night. I probably should have done a better research. No elevator, so prepare to hike with your suitcases. The room was definitely not worth €300.
Cons: Someone stole my new shoes in the hotel and I did not realize it was gone until I checked out of the hotel. When I called/emailed the hotel asking about it, they were unhelpful, rude and dismissive. I simply asked for an incident report and they would not even provide this for me. DO NOT STAY HERE THEY ARE CROOKS. its also right next to a bunch of plantations filled with bad pollution in the air.
Pros: Friendly staff, great shuttlebus that get you to Skjeggedal (starting point for the hike to Trolltunga) and a nice breakfast.
Cons: Room without aircondition and fans made the hot summer night impossible to sleep through. No phone in the room and no fridge to cool down food and drinks.
Pros: Great location, and spotlessly clean.
Cons: It is quite basic for a hotel, should rather be advertised as a guesthouse. The staff was quite clueless about things to do and transport options in the region.
Pros: This is good hotel to stay before and after tracking. A supermarket near the hotel. The stop for shuttle to trolltunga in 50 metres near the hotel. You can ask for the early breakfast if you want to start your track in the early morning. However the breakfast start rather early at 6:30 AM. To be honest there is no difference whether you stay in Odda or Tyssedal, because there is one shuttle to Trolltunga. It starts from Odda and goes through Tyssedal. But If you want to eat somewhere or make a shopping you better stay in Odda.
Cons: No cafes, no shops excl. supermarket in Tyssedal. One extra bus to get from Odda to Tyssedal.
Pros: I was disappointed as compared as the pictures on the website. There is a factory in front of the view and the hostel is old but the breakfast is quite good.
Located just 50 metres to the bus stop for connections to Trolltunga, Slottet Apartments offers accommodation in Tyssedal. Norwegian Museum of Hydropower and Industry is just 600 metres away. You will find a kettle in the room. Each room has a shared bathroom. There is also a shared kitchen on site. There is a 24-hour front desk at the property. The area is popular for fishing, skiing and hiking. Odda is 6 km from Slottet Apartments, while Skjeggedal is 7 km away. Bergen Flesland Airport is 139 km from the property.
Cons: The shared areas kitchen and bathroom are not the same standard as the bedrooms.
Pros: It is a perfect apartment room for traveling. The bus stop and grocery is very closeby. The mountains, fjords and waterfalls are just outside the window. The WIFI connection is very good around the apartment. One can have dinner outside the room while enjoy the beautiful view. The room is equipped with small kitchen and cooking tools, simple home made food is possible. Shower room and toilet are separated. Meanwhile, it is a good price for short stay near Trolltunga. The stuff is also friendly and helpful.
Cons: I don’t comment on the property but I will complain a bit about the grocery opening time. It closes too early and makes it inconvenient for the late hikers.
Cons: No elevator. No parking next to the building. We had to take our car, drop our luggage and the park the car at the offsite parking lot. Not the most convenient. Additionally no elevator to the second floor of be building.
Pros: Proximity to the bus station and the hotel facility to transfer to the trolltunga hike.
Cons: No oven to cook meals and a lack of condiments which would have been useful. Crockery was quite basic and the table and chair was very cosy and a tight fit. Fair few insects made their way into the room too.
Pros: Close to trolltunga. Kitchen.
Pros: This is an excellent location for hiking Trolltunga, and there are beautiful views of the fjord and mountains from the rooms. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable.
Cons: For the price of our stay we were surprised at the dilapidated state of the shared kitchen and bathroom and expected higher quality fittings. We had the feeling that the building is still a work in progress and it could be really fabulous if they upscaled the kitchen and bathrooms. Luckily as a family of four we had an entire unit to ourselves, but I would not recommend only booking one room in one of these shared apartments, as the lack of privacy with the shared toilet, bathroom and kitchen could be very awkward if you were staying with people you didn't know.
Pros: Great location and quite convenient for Trolltunga trek. Facilities a bit basic but good price and overall ok.
Pros: It was an awesome experience! Very helpfull staff, and nealy a nice stay. Trolltunga is the best! And apartments are just as we expected. Additional thanks to Pawel!
Cons: It is appartment, so be ready that kitchen, shower, and w/c is divided between two rooms.
Pros: Nice and Kind staff. We stucked in the mountains, so hotel changed our check in for a day later. Even with "check in time" at 4pm, they give us a possibility to take a shower/repack our clothes before it. We need to hurry up for a bus. Additional Thanks to Pawel!
Cons: everything was just as we expected.
