Great location, beautiful scenery, warm welcome, great breakfast, very nice pool, good room. It matched all that we were looking for.
The owners are lovely and we spent time with time discussing this new exciting venture with them. We toured the extensive vegetable garden and were encouraged to bring the fruits with us when we departed. The breakfasts will become a legend where they really do go the extra mile and provide local cheese curd, green tomato jam, and huge glasses of freshly squeezed juices. The rooms which we stayed in were a bit small - we each had a suitcase and it felt cramped, but this was offset by the lovely linens on the beds and the stillness of the place.
The affection with which the hosts, Margarida and Luis pampered us. It may not be perceptible at first, but there is something there, an underlying cultural offer that is mirrored in the books, in the decoration, in the art, and that reflects a unique sensibility and philosophy of the life the hosts have lived so far. It is hard to find what else can you demand or expect from a rural tourism unit.
This place is delightful. The couple who run it, Margarite and Luis are simply the nicest couple you could find and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are simple but modern & comfy, the bathrooms spotless, the pool is great but best of all is the breakfast...worth coming just for that! A lovely place to spend a few nights while exploring the West Coast. Will definitely come back. There's a stunning, big sitting room with a roaring fire which is perfect for winter evenings. But in summer, as there's no bar/restaurant, they could do with an outside area where you can sit at night and have a few drinks (even if you bring your own). My only suggestion as otherwise this place is fantastic!
Marguerita and Luis (and their staff) do all possible to make you feel very, very wellcome - you need something, you just had to ask, and they did all possible to please you there was nothing we did not like
beautiful place to stop in....real relax in the nature...service offered from owners is eccellent....great breakfast...who is in the area I suggest to visit...very cleaned and confortable...one of my best accomodations I've ever experienced...
The word to discribe this hotel is pristine, everything was spot on, can't recommend this hotel highly enough.
The staff was simply amazing, we felt really welcome. The owners pay a lot of attention to small details. We will come back!
It was a very good experience. Excellent quality of the service: rooms, quality of the products at breakfast, well located deep in the country-side, but not far from the sea or a nearby village. Staff is extremely nice.
Located in a lovely, quiet valley. Nice, clean and spacious rooms. Big swimming pool. Great breakfast with lot of choice.
perfect country surroundings. peace and quiet, but very close to beaches and cultural sites
The ideal hotel for nature lovers. Very friendly service. Room was very clean. Modern bathroom. No holiday resorts, etc. in the neighborhood. Zambujeira do Mar in about 8 minutes distance. Several restaurants in the area. Coast with rocks nearby. None
The peace and quiet, the beautiful views, the warm welcome, the attention to detail, the wonderful breakfasts and the incredible scenery that we were able to see out on the bicycles lent by the hotel. We had a llovely time in a truly beautiful part of Portugal.
a comfortable, small, quiet hotel in extremely peaceful location yet within easy driving distance of beaches and towns on Alentejo coast. Excellent for those who enjoy a conventional summer holiday away from main tourist destinations. Please note that you do need a car but roads are quiet and maximum drive time of 30 minutes either to north or south puts you in reach of numerous beaches and towns. Nearest town and beach is only 5-10 minutes drive away.
staff very friendly; charming place;nice and convenient location; they try hard. weird towel changing policy;rooms not enough big for prize, but it depends on the combinations they assign you, cause they kinda separate a house in pieces (i.e. the randeira house), and you can get asigned a small section while other people get the big one, problem is, the small section is too small.the Tonel beach has a risky hazardous access, beside the dizzyness, we gave it up (and despite our age we are fitted, but oh!, the joints!), Alteirinhos beach is way much better and has a very good, hippy, skinshow, i mean topless and that, and familiar at the same time, atmosphere. anyway I loved Touril place, maybe we'll be back, have we money enough...
Peace and tranquility in lovely surroundings. Helpful and very friendly staff
Perfect place for a holiday
Not quite up to the standard we expected
Fantastic rooms, very cosy and stylish, hotel was opened in June 2010; extremely nice and helpful employees; small pool, fantastic breakfast location of the Casas do Moinho is a little bit off the track, but if you are looking for deserted beaches and a place where the clock ticks slower than somewhere else this is the place to be
Friendly, owners could not do enough for you, relaxed, stylish modern room, lovely location with fabulous views, secure, family oriented, lovely pool, close (5 mins drive) to a fantastic beach for surfing or swimming (when safe). A bit noisy at night as our bedroom was on a busy street with passing traffic very close to our heads. Not recommended for elderly or disabled visitors due to location at the top of very steep hills and all facilities for dinner involved walking down and then back up the hills or driving. No air conditioning.
the design of the room in a typical portugees village is really nice. the break fast is huge; well furnished, home made, with fresh products. from the swimming pool there is a nice view on the mountain and the mile.
Casas do Moinho must be one of the most friendly hotels we have stayed. The staff were extremely helpful and it is beautifully located to explore the Costa Vicentina.
