10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 4 nights in Villa Huruma and had absolutely amazing vacation there. The vila is located a few steps from the beach in the centre of Paje with a lots of beach bars and restaurants. We would recommend restaurant Fisherman (delicious local food, good prices and beach bar Mahali (fabulous view and bar area). Staff in Villa is super nice, owners are always helpfull, food is great and pool area is beautiful. Everything extremely clean. We could not ask for more. Thanks a lot! <3
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very nice and clean villa with a nice pool to relax by. Just a little set back from the beach but with its own private area on the beach. A very nice breakfast and really friendly staff.
7.5 Good
Pros: * very clean * friendly & welcoming * cozy & safe
Cons: *Didn’t seem to recognize any garden view as stated. * After checking out & using the facility’s shower . They refused to provide me with a proper towel , instead i had to dry myself with the beach towel they gave instead, which barely dries you out. Stating that the other towels are only destined for rooms. Which was even a ruder answer. * This is a recommendation not a comment actually( cause it’s not stated while booking): Providing WIFI inside rooms even though its very slow too ,cause there is no network inside rooms. Providing A/C’s in all rooms not because it’s hot but very humid.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The villa, garden and pool are very well-designed. It's a pleasure to just be in that beautiful space. My room did not have A/C not TV, which is no problem, but it wasn't clear to me at the time of booking.
Cons: It would be nice to have free water in the rooms, or a dispenser on the terrace. And stronger WiFi, preferably also in the rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property location is Very Good, is just 50m from the sea, it is relatively small only 6 rooms which makes easy for the owners to cater for everyone and to provide with excellent hospitality and service

Cons: Pool wasn’t accessible the first couple of days

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very peaceful resort. Staff was very helpful and cooperative. I enjoyed my stay to the maximum. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking peaceful break. Special thanks to the manager Matia, to Alixandra, Joseph, Thomas, Amina, Jaffar the tailor, Fedies and all other staff. Thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was the most beautiful resort I have ever stayed in, the bedroom, living room, private pool, on the beach, outdoor bathtub, rain shower, exceptional food and service. It was just all outstanding in every way. We also had a look at the 2-bedroom villa (for a group of 3-4) - exceptionally beautiful. Larger pool and lots of space for a family. The entire resort was so well maintained and quiet. The location on Paje Beach in Zanzibar was amazing, an amazing beach and water. We also took kite surf lessons from the school that is on the property - fantastic. We also took 2 excursions via the hotel - one to Stone Town and one snorkeling. Both arranged very well.
Cons: With the resort, I have zero negative things to say. If they didn't have something on the food bar, they arranged for it. They were in every way accommodating. The snorkeling trip was disappointing but that is not related to the hotel, I think simply not the best snorkeling in Zanzibar. The guide and the boat were perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality of all the staff from the GM Maite to the security. Very comfortable suites and great food.
Cons: Leaving

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very cozy and quiet accomodation and nice hist. any time again. Thanks
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owner is a gem! She was really helpful and fun to talk with. The place is modest but clean with an amazing location. It is a short walking path away from the beach with many restaurants and activity places. The other people staying there were all very nice and pleasant to be around. I felt safe and at home for the 2 days I was there. The place is very cute.
Cons: No issues. The only thing to remember is that it is very modest and in someones house. You are renting a room and share space. The kitchen is small but functional - breakfast is not included. If you are a big breakfast person there is a great cafe a hop skip and a jump away so you should be fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great place for travelers who are on their way, if only for one night
Cons: everything was OK

Pros: Infinity pool was beautiful and the quiet location was relax, while it was close enough to the parties and kitesurfers (25min walking on the beach) The host (nickname: doctor) was very nice and made us feel welcome.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent, great staff, friendly and always helpful and smiley. Watching and listening to the tide ebb and flow was an experience, watching the ladies and fishermen at work earning a well earned living humbles yourself.
Cons: Nothing to complain about, peaceful place and a great getaway,we don’t know how lucky we are ,watching the locals carry on with everyday life toiling to survive.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Whaou the place is really nice. Lots of flowers, really quiet and it feels great to be waken up by the sound of the birds and the sea. Staff was really nice and smily. The pool was clean and ideally situated to enjoy the view.
Cons: If you want to kitesurf : the hotel is a bit far from the main spot and the schools : we had to walk 20 min every day to reach it. Maybe you should add soap, shampoo and conditioner into the bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was incredible and the people at jaribu(service providers)where exallent, friendly and the food was soooo Gooooooddd
Cons: Not a thing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Masoud was such an incredible host. The breakfast was amazing and the maintenance folk quickly responded to any small issue that came up. The waiters helped with booking bikes to travel the island, with local events, and transport to Paje. Amazing service and amazing people.
Cons: Nothing!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. What we needed: good place and relax. The paradise is here! The swimmingpool view sea is a dream. The food is fantastic! A thanks to everyone for giving us our best days in Zanzibar . A special thanks to the "Doctor" for his service and sympathy. I Will reccomend this place to people asking about Zanzibar. Martina&Piero
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location overlooks the spectacular Paje beach, the hotel grounds are beautiful with so many flowers and the decor is very stylish and in keeping with the local culture. Staff were super smiley and attentive.
Cons: As it’s a fairly new hotel, a few details remain to be rectified/ added to make it even more lovely, eg softness of sheets, bedside lamps, dripping tap in shower preventing the pressure to be at its maximum.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms in a small hotel where you are one of only a few guests. The staff were super friendly and helped with everything we needed. Quiet and chilled location, about a 20 min walk to town.
Cons: The restaurant offers simple food, if you're looking for anything better, you'll need to walk (20min) to town. The beach in front of the hotel is very rocky so it's not great for swimming, luckily there is a pool!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A peaceful place far from crowded
Cons: The beach is not good to swim. There are dangerous rocks at a 50 cm depth that are hidden at the high tide
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, especially Hassan. Great location between Paje and Jambiani. Limited number of bungalows so it is peaceful and quiet. Great pool overlooking the beach.
Cons: There was nothing to complain about.

9.0 Excellent (203 reviews)

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and coffee/tea in a common area. 7.0 Good
Pros: Common area with hammocks and hanging beds is great! Staff and other guests were super friendly. Close to a more secluded, and really nice area of Paje Beach... And still easy walk into town and the more populated areas on the beach. Lunch/dinner options on site are good and reasonably priced (chapati wraps and grilled calamari were our favs). Wifi was also decent (best we had on Zanzibar).
Cons: Room was quite dark and the beds were super soft (could feel every movement of the other person) and the sheets they give you for blankets are super small. Got eaten alive by bugs at night, despite using the provided spray and nets over the bed.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: - Facility: The courtyard is fascinating: bar, swinging beds, hanmocks. There is a TV space and a gym. - Breakfast: Fruits, eggs and bread. - Beach is a waling distance. But you cannot swim during low tide. You need a pair of beach sandals because there are many shells with sharpe outfits.
Cons: - There is no locker to keep valuables: You need to ask a receptionist to keep it. - I stayed in a dorm. There is only one key, so you need to return it and pick it up from the reception each time.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I appreciate the staff who are so nice and were always available to help specially the guy called Ramadan. A very good location to relax and stay away from noise. So calm and nice around. The food was good but it could be great. The beach is less than one minute walking and many shops are available around. Very excellent experience and I'd absolutely get back again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything, beach is only 2 minutes away. Rooms were clean. Staff were very friendly. The breakfast and food at the restaurant was delicious. A little bit quiet when I was there but great for relaxing.
4.3 Okay
Cons: We found out there were rats in our room. Please check the picture attached. Also, the english of the staff was not good, causing comunication gaps all the time.
6.3 Good
Pros: It was close to the beach
Cons: The beds were a little musty. Very little light and too many insects
7.5 Good
Pros: Really nice staff, close to the beach but not too close, nice relaxing areas. The food at its best were tremendous.
Cons: The food had a very large span in quality dependant on wich cook. From delicious to poor. The cleaning ladies hardly made anything unless they got 5k shilling a day in tip. Mosquitos was a huge problem even if using a lot of spray ang stick, much because of poorly made bungalows and broken mosquitonet in the windows.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff: the manager Made all she could to make us happy We stayed in Summer Beach lodge and not in Summer dream lodge due to a Booking error. We suggest this sister structure because there is a bar/restaurant on the Beach plus chilling area. Super nice
Cons: The Restaurant needs a better organization
6.3 Good
Pros: - the common area was nice and cozy - the hotel was close to the beach - The toilet was clean
Cons: -the communication with the stuff was somehow very slow - the toilet was smelly - although was clean - I saw a mouse on the roof - I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights but I barely managed to sleep due to the mosquitoes. I think I have never been bitten so much before. The nets might have had some holes since I got bitten while they were down
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff and restaurant was great. Very large and comfy lounge garden area. Close to the beach if you are a swimmer or sunbather.
Cons: Too far from the central beach restaurants and kitesurf area. Impossible to walk back to the hotel on the beach when the tide is high.

The property is around 15 km from Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, 500 metres from Paje Beach and 500 metres from Supermarket (Paje). Staff on site can arrange airport transfers. All rooms have a private bathroom with a bidet and a hairdryer.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location right on the beach. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: There wasn't much atmosphere when I was there, I think it was just a quiet time to visit. I found it quite expensive for a backpackers accomodation.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I liked drifters so much - it was better than expected and actually the best hostel I've been visiting in Zanzibar so far. Thought I was going to stay on Teddy's in Jambiani for a few days, but had to leave 2 hours - it was really rubbish compared to Drifters.. No wifi, slobby atmosphere and bad communication from the staff... Honestly didn't like the place at all, so I shared a cap with another unsatisfied guest from Teddys to Drifters. There we had a blast. Pros for driftes; The location on the beach, the kind and helpful staff (good mixture of locals and UK), the atmosphere really relaxed, just as it should be and lastly the hygiene of the place; all factors were 10 out of 10!! I Especially want to point out the cleanliness of the place, which was outstanding. Furthermore, they had very good wifi, which I and the other guest really appreciated after staying on other hostels with close to no wifi or extremely slow.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, location and I had a great hut overlooking the beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: David and Talal were the best hosts and made me feel at home from the minute I arrived. By the time I left, the staff and other guests were like family. The vibe here is great, I highly recommend this place.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I wanted to have some lazy days in Zanzibar before I had to go back home. So I stayed 5 days at Drifters. Location at the beach is perfect. Telal and David are great hosts and try to make sure you are having a good time. I stayed at one of the dorms, which are each housed in a beach bungalow. Mine had 12 beds but less than half were occupied. The beach chairs are great for lazying around, also appreciated the pool (since its usally more refreshing as the sea is just too warm). Each dorm bungalow has its own private bathroom. Beds were comfy (and come with mosquito nets, although there were hardly any mosquitos at my time of visit (beginning of feb))
Cons: I thought value for money could have been a bit better. It is really not the cheapest place. From what I saw most other accomodations offer at least breakfast, which (if you have to pay for it) can be actually quite expensive in Paje (15k+ from what I saw).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The access to the beach is unbeatable, the vibe is cool, and the staff went out of their way to make it comfortable and a pretty fantastic time.
Cons: Wednesday night across the street (not their fault)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value hostel on the beautiful beach of Paje. The owners/staff at Drifters go above and beyond expectations. Very friendly atmosphere. Will definitely stay here again.
Cons: Nothing
4.5 Okay
Pros: JUST LOCATION WAS GOOD
Cons: ROOM WAS NOT COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN AND ALSO IT WAS SO DARK
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good locations and friendly vibe
Cons: Directions could be clearer
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is fantastic and Talal, the host, is extremely helpful.

Beautiful surprise! Decor in the room was beautiful, super clean and smelled so nice great attention to detail. Amazing welcoming friendly staff and yummy breakfast. Great location too!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location of the Waterfront is just perfect, with access to the beautiful beach of Paje and very closed to the town and other places with good atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and kind. The room was incredible big with a balcony to the beautiful garden and the great pool. The restaurant of the hotel is Mr. Kahawa and it is very good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Many options and cool vibes.
Cons: Everything was very good!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was lovely, several choices. The hotels location was right in the middle of everything and next to the beach. Lovely swimming pool and sun loungers. Staff were all very helpful and there to answer our questions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: loved the beautiful pool area with the large tropical plants everywhere. -- and THE BEACH
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Warmth, cleanliness and service
Cons: No Wi-Fi in the rooms and lack of clear signage for access from the Village of Paje
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast could be much better. Not so many options. Portions were not enough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well appointed and spacious rooms around lovely swimming pool area and kite surfing shop on site for those enthusiasts. Very nice staff headed up by Arjen and his charming wife, Ellen, who both give the place a very personal and homely feel by chatting to all the guests each morning during breakfast on the patio overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Could be tricky to find due to lack of signage to the property.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, the room was beautiful and very clean.
7.0 Good
Pros: The best place in Paje to chill in the beach café and have really tasty and healthy drinks & food there.
Cons: No WiFi in the rooms and the breakfast is very basic
Paje by Night - Paje - Building
8
8.6 Excellent (253 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Paje By Night in Paje, you'll be by the ocean, steps from Paje Beach and a 3-minute drive from Jambiani Beach. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice, friendly and always helpful staff. They did an excellent job! The food was also excellent. Our room was very nice. Good vibe after the sun went down.
Cons: Our friends which stayed at a nearby hotel at the beach had cheaper rooms, nicer pool, free kite equipment storage and rooms with sea view. We were informed only one week prior to our arrival that rental for kite equipment storage would cost us extra. Exactly how much were not specified before we arrived. The location for the kite equipment store is too far from the hotel to make it worth while. Cheaper alternatives could be found closer to Padje by night. There were no WiFi in our room. The pool area could be better kept. Our friends room at Padje by Night were not as nice as ours, eventhough they paid aproximately the same price. Our bed sheets were very worn out, making it feel as there were always sand on our matress.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Paje by Night was the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of reality. The staff is AMAZING! From a 4am airport pick up to having my accommodations ready for my extremely early arrive - they embody the Hakuna Matata way of life! Everyone is very welcoming and make you feel at ease. The bar staff is so friendly you'll want to sit and chat with the for hours! They also make THE BEST mojito. Efforts are really made to reduce food waste with breakfast orders taken the day before. Venture to the beach bar for the gelato. Housekeeping does a great job preparing the rooms for a preventing mosquitoes from getting inside. And the twice daily yoga is an added bonus! The instructor really pays attention to your fitness need and helps tailor it to your specific needs. The pool is the perfect spot to cool down on those HOT, HOT, HOT days. Make sure to venture to the center for the perfect place to sit and people watch. The property is isolated enough to feel as if you are on a private retreat yet close enough to reach all the island sights and attractions within 30-45 minutes. Overall great attention paid to ensure your holiday/vacation is stress free and fun filled.
Cons: It's a first world problem of having too many choices. Yoga and many of the activities happen within the same window - making it difficult to do yoga before heading out for the day on an excursion. Afternoon yoga is available but after a full day touring around you might return too late or too tired to take part.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We liked the courtesy and availability of Claudia & Massimilano as well as that of their staff. Food was very good. We liked their beach facility ( Beach House) and the kitesurf services. A great experience overall.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room is clean. The water is always running. It's close to the beach. Perfect is you come to the room just to take a shower and sleep.
Cons: The room is really muggy. The natural ventilation is almost non existent, because there is a wall behind the cottage. If you like to stay in the room in the evening it's a nightmare unless you don't want to show yourself to your neighbours and leave the windows open. There is a fan just above the bed, which runs at too high a speed to consider it safe for health, I don't know who would even think of using higher modes than 1. It must end with a cold. Also, since there is no window glass, the room is very acoustic, so that you can hear others guests and they can hear you very clearly. Short, if you like to spend time in the evening in the room it might be quite unpleasant. Bonus: at 5.30 in the morning a herd of crows wakes up, and they gonna wake you up too if you manged to fall asleep.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The food was amazing breakfast lunch and dinner. Pool was so clean and great to swim I The bed comfy. Plenty of lounge areas to do emails ect.
Cons: Walk to beach was close but hard going in very boggy sand. Water wasn’t good for swimming in.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We had a great time at Paje by night and it was the perfect place to end our trip. Claudia and here team are amazing hosts and we liked especially the chilled wipe of the hotel and the guests. Go there and make sure to try the seafood platter!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The spacy lodge and top bathroom, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff!
Cons: Would be nice to have some seets or a sofa in the room
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely owners and staff, very relaxed and charming, and a great spot for kiting.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The yogi breakfast is excellent. The yoga class was very good and the teacher was very nice and patient. The room was comfortable and clean. They allow me to do a late check out without extra cost.
Cons: I thought it was a beach front property. But actually it is 50m-100m away from the beach. It is not very much, but the external areas are not facing the sea. The shower was very rusty and with very less pressure
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, very clean, amazing pool, great food
Cons: No wifi in or near the room.
Hotel On The Rock - Paje - Building
9
8.6 Excellent (166 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel On The Rock in Paje, you'll be just steps from Paje Beach and 9 minutes by foot from Jambiani Beach. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Staff at restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is amazing, the rooms are spacious, the bathroom is great. Located in an excellent point of the beach of Paje. the center of paje is about 20min walking and 5min by car. The staff is very friendly and always made us feel at home. If I went back to Zanzibar, I would definitely stay in the same hotel.
Cons: The only thing that leaves something to be desired is a swimming pool and a shower, because when the tide takes place, it is not possible to dive on the beach, but with a 10min walk along the beach it is possible to dive.
7.0 Good
Pros: The view
Cons: AC problems. Misunderstanding at the restaurant
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was great - the ocean is just in front. The place is very tranquil, isolated from the crowd with wonderful view. You hear only the ocean and the wind in the trees. The bungalows are nice authentic and very comfortable, especially the deluxe ones. I strongly recommend the place for couples looking for privacy and good rest.
Cons: The restaurant was a bit overpriced compared to similar places we visited and there is not great variety of choice, if you plan to eat regularly there.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: staff is friendly and kind. nice place. beach was also nice.
Cons: wifi is available only in the hotel restaurant. not in the rooms.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: i previously made a complaint which i will delete after i post this as most of the issues that i had were rectified swiftly within minutes of my initial post. there was no backlash but very good assistance, which i did not expect. The hotel is the best looking one in Zanzibar and possibly has the best facilities on the island. they have a swimming pool, gym , table soccer on the premises. 24/7 assistance. They also have a shuttle that is available on request and for free to shuttle you around the area and to the beach. They also have the best food variety on the island as we had booked 5 hotels and ate out in 15 more, their food is served on a buffet and you can choose whatever and how much you want to eat. They also have a tv, fan and safe and a balcony with a view to die for.
Cons: i hope the could be a clear distinction between the hotels on the booking website as what is advertised could be deemed as misleading - e.g beach front suites been advertised even though they are not open for the time been, that will give users a chance to book the alternative in the other hotel. Upon booking , you are advised that rates and taxes are included on the final price, however we were required to pay an extra 8$ dollars per person for island tax, which was not a requirement anywhere else. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has respected the nature around it. The room was in front of the beach with an amazing view. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean.
Cons: Some hiccups in the organization of a half day tour in Zanzibar but everything was resolved in the end thanks to our motivated driver.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was helpful , private areas for sun-bathing was amazing , rooms they upgraded because they have spare. Overall everything was good
Cons: Breakfast was okay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best holidays we had so far. Location, long strip and quiet beach - those were main factors we were looking at. Bungalow with ocean view so we could watch exceptional sunrise each morning either from balcony or the beach. Enough amount of sunbeds which are comfortable. Beach is just perfect and all surroundings maintained well. Hotel in The Rock Bar and Restaurant - brilliant views and mega friendly staff made us feel like at home. Excellent breakfast, wide variety of option's in menu for lunch and dinner - we didn't have to use other places. Food is tasty and well presented. Lady in reception desk always ready to help and solve any issues. On top of that we would like to say Big Thank You to: Smile Kassim for being our perfect tour guide, for well organised transportation from/to the airport / Samuel, Mood, David and colleagues, Chef and kitchen staff for making sure we were always in good mood (food and drinks wise
Cons: -
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, helpful friendly staff, beautiful location- away from the village
Cons: I would have liked an air conditioning unit like the other guys below. Difficulty locking the door- didn't feel secure. Also crack in glass in door- it was there when I arrived!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: rooms are large and confortable. Everything clean and well taken care of. The staff is great, specially Dennis that was ready to do everything to make our stay as best as possible and gave a lot of good advice. Would definitely stay here again
Cons: breakfast can improve (food is good but more variety would be great) and the time it takes to serve the meals.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were awsome and very helpful. Ask for dennis he helps out in all activities
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location: right on the beach, aside but close enough to Paje busy beaches. Clean specious rooms. Always beautiful view from the outdoor restaurant tables and from all rooms. Very nice, polite and helpful staff. If we needed to leave early the breakfast order was taken the night before and ready at really early hours at our request. Clean swimming pools that are nice to use during very low or high tide. The pool that is closer to the beach is a little colder due to wind exposure than the inner pool that is close to the reception building, so you always can choose what you want at the moment :)
Cons: It was a bit difficult to find upon arrival. Bigger sign on the main road and a few additional signs to lead you to the place on the back roads would be helpful. We rented a car and were new to area, but if you are arriving by a taxi cab it shouldn't be a problem :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect! We liked our big room, beautiful and comfortable bed, especially small pillow available and the terrace. Staff was extra friendly, so caring and helpful. They solved any issues we had (eg renting a scooter). A-la carte breakfast was delicious - we love the eggs in many different ways:) Cappucino was great even though extra cost, but for me absolutely worth it. I also loved the seafood salad for my lunch which I ordered many times.
Cons: It is related only to kitesurfing - could have a rope or smth to lean the kites in order to wash them and let them dry a little bit before packing. It helps to prevent sand ending up in the hotel area and the room. If there are many kitesurfers, it could be one improvement area.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I love how small a personal this place was. I want to live there. Wonderful stay
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Overall place. Very clean. Very friendly staff.
Cons: 5% extra fee for paying with credit card but this is pretty much standard in Zanzibar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Upon arrival we already felt welcomed, staff was great especially Paulina who helped with everything. We received the room we wanted as a special request and also we where able to prolong our stay without a problem which was great. Great value for money, perfect location, quiet but still near to all the bars, kite centers etc. the room was immaculate, turndown service in the afternoon was great addition and much appreciated. Breakfast worked great. All in all perfect stay for us in Paje.
Cons: Nothing, everything was great.
7.5 Good
Pros: the view was excellent! And the staff was very good!
Cons: The hotel and others near had problem with the electricity. It was interrupted several times, some times as much as 3 - 4 hours And also the water ws some times "interrupted", unfortunately
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was nice and helpful. Location is right on the beach which is great.
Cons: I mušt say that rooms were very cosy and we didn't misst anything. But in general whole Resort is looking much better and more poshi on photos then in reality. If the price would be lower than it would great.
7.5 Good
Pros: Large room. In the beach.
Cons: Average food. Staff disinterested and noisy at times.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service was polite, quick, friendly, and sincere! The staff at the Kite Centre are excellent instructors, very professional and went out of their way to accomodate!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, Clean hotel and friendly staff.
Cons: Breakfast buffet is poor and didn’t change for the whole week.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were absolutely lovely. We traveled with our toddler and it was perfect holiday for us. Great breakfast and very convenient with dinner at the hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room are quiet with an outside table and a place to relax.
Cons: The choice at the restaurant for dinner was poor (but good). The menu is changing everyday but not with a lot of choice, only two starters and two or three main courses. Desserts and pizzas are not exceptional.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Food was really good and the rooms are exceptionally clean and very beautiful and spacious. The Private beach was also a great bonus as well as a variety of pools and the environment in general was great. Also the receptionist Mary was very professional and friendly.
Cons: Despite having many great and friendly staff, some of the staffs do not have a good attitude especially when they know you are a Tanzanian, it's funny but they will actually respect you more if you speak English.
7.0 Good
Pros: In arhitectural sense the hotel was very well organised and projected. We had lot of free space, inside hotel and outside. The place is not crowded and it is perfect for honeymoon. Hotel beach was beautiful, and if we anything needed waitress was there to provide us. Very friendly and kind staff in hotel.
Cons: Brekfast was the same for 9 days. Everything is delicious but I wish we had something different. The pool wasnt too clean although every day staff were cleaning. Although Zanzibar has low standard, prices are not that low, whatever they are very high.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a standard room and it was lovely - very clean, airy and light, and each room has its own porch/sitting area outside. There are also around 12 rooms to each pool so it was never too crowded if you wanted to go for a dip. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Location was perfect - the hotel has a small private area on the beach which is great. Food was good - we opted for half board and for dinner the restaurant is outdoors on the sand, so you dine under the stars.
Cons: The WiFi wasn’t great in our room and you can only connect two devices at a time which was a bit frustrating. Not that we wanted one but for those who expect it, there is no tv in the room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, gread dinner! Modern, functionable, spacy rooms!
Cons: Constructions were in progress but didnt effect the room areas, only restaurant area during the day which was fine.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is quite ok: it is almost the last resort on the paje beach, so not so many tourists. The food: breakfast varies each 2 days not so much, but still you can choose from fruits, egs, pastry, pancakes; dinner choose from 2 restaurants: the grill in the sand where they have a set menu and where the fun is (concerts, dancing etc) or upstairs where it is a more sofisticated menu. There is also a lunch menu: varried and quite good. We went out of the resort to have dinner 2 times and it is worth it, but not necessary. Try the restaurants and bars on the beach. The beach: very close-1 minut, also where kite dreamer school is, with a beach boy, towels and sun beds. Cleanliness: very goood. The staff: they all speak english and are very helful.
Cons: Internet: if you do want to go there to work or watch movies not a chance. Very poor connection also on the wifi and on the network.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a perfect holiday, stuff super friendly. Place very clean.
Cons: Nothing

7.0 Good
Pros: Nice rooms, secluded, a "get-away" place. Breakfast. Good value, prompt service, attractively presented. Easy booking service. Nice, lay-back, sea-breezy feel to it.
Cons: No hot water, some days no water for several hours. To be fair, the other bungalows were better serviced. Place looked rather run down, current staff could do more to present it better. Some quiet music in the dining area would be nice.
7.5 Good
Pros: Ideal location for quiet time. Overlooking the beach, with comfortable chairs and hammock outside the bungalow. Breakfast was good, but could do with a little variation. evening meal was good, although it had to be ordered late afternoon. Variety of restaurants along the beach (15 minutes walk) as an alternative option. Room comfortable with hot shower.
Cons: WiFi limited to reception/dining area only.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is really friendly (look for mr. Ali or Amuri, they are the best) and the food is tasty.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It is a charming location different from the all-inclusive concept. You feel closer to nature in its genuine state. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was included and excellent. You also have tea, coffee and cookies after 10 pm if you have any cravings. The bungalows are charming, furniture has character. The beach is wonderful.
Cons: I cannot say I didn’t like it, but if you seek luxury you will not find it here.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The beach is simply incredible and the bungalows are right on it. There is a monkey that visits the restaurant and asks for bananas - a highlight of our stay!
6.3 Good
Pros: safe place, right on the beach
Cons: everything was dated, no variety for breakfast
7.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful beaches.
Cons: Need formal process for collecting plastic litter
4.5 Okay
Pros: Right at the beach
Cons: (all) Rooms don't have a kitchenette like it is said in the description! The manager confessed that there had been guests before who complained about that. But the description hasn't been changed. After discussions with the manager he agreed that we could cancel our second night without extra charges. Rooms and especially bathrooms are very basic. Bed is too short for anybody over 1,80m and there is a board at the end of the bed that you can't hang your feet over the edge.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location is the best, right next to the beach!
Cons: There was no light in my room in the first night, so I took shower and slept in the dark. The second day, from 1 pm to 7 pm there was no electricity in the whole hotel. I cant use wifi, I cant take shower, other customers were complaining the wholw time. The old staff could not tell when exactly when it will be back and does it usually take 6 hours to fix? Or is it because they are too lazy to see the needs of having lights? One guest even called a hotel owner for this. The hotel beachfront is forever under maintenance, you could see leaves and coconut branches fell down all over the place and nobody cares. The path towards my room has these all over I even have to stomp on them every time and wonder there would be any snakes hiding below. I have travelled 32 countries from Africa, Asia, Europe and the US, I have stayed from 1 to 5 star bungalows and hotels but this is the worst experience ever! Poor management, Dirty hotel ground (waste of location), mediocre room and staff (especially the old one who is slow to react and does not seem to be helpful at all). Will kot recommend at all
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, beach bungalow was very nice and spacious, many places to hang out and relax! A short walk from the action restaurants and kite surfing and seaweed farms!
Cons: Cook wasn’t serving Japanese food as advertised and they were not very good at improving food upon request: eg. Mixed scrambled eggs...

Pros: The access to the beach, the bathroom and general cleanliness
Cons: Lack of internet connection in the rooms, so inconvenient. No tv in the room. Atleast offer guests with drinking water
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was great...
Cons: I booked a beach view but didn't get that... instead had to take a garden view. There was a permanent sewage smell from the bathroom ..we ended up having to keep the door closed so it didn't seep into the room as well as the shower drain being blocked. I was chilly at night but apparently they have no blankets so covering is with one sheet. Apart from the fruit the breakfast was very mediocre.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, Pool, Private beach part
Cons: Staff was quite unflexible and not that motivated; quite expensive
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Best view from our room - to the oceans !
10.0 Excellent

Cons: No wi fi in the room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location - right on Paje beach!
Cons: The restaurant was set in a odd location and not well utilized.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an excellent stay in the seafront bungalow. Room was spacious and cleaned every day. Staff took good care of everything and were so nice and kind. Garden is beautiful and calm. And looking at the beach from your room is amazing :) Many thanks to all the staff for making our staying in Arabian Nights superb. We would definitely come back!!!
8.8 Excellent

Cons: No internet in rooms.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location right by the beach. Breakfasts were always good fruit and then eggs or pancakes, one could say what he wants.
Cons: Older hotel equipment, would need renovation. All the chairs were broken, there were only two deck chairs on the beach.

Pros: Needs a little money putting in the property. View fantastic. Mohammed eventually softened and looked after us well. Restaurant only had 1 bottle of Wine on offer though he did eventually get us some more.
Cons: Drinking Water only available on first day
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was above average, but food in general mediocre. The staff were helpful and attentive.
Cons: Poor lighting around perimeter at night and I actually got injured after falling due to poor visibility. The staff at the reception left in the evening before the posted hours of availability creating disappointment.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Arabian Suites is located just at the beach that gives it an advantage over Arabian Nights part. Perfect location, Very good breakfast, kind and professional staff, clean rooms, plenty of restaurants around (one of our favor - "Bounty" just next to the hotel, Kite Surfing schools and bars - we really enjoyed our stay in that place
Cons: a/c was a bit too weak to cope with the heat
7.0 Good
Pros: The location and beaches were beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Cons: The rooms can be better equipped with at least a kettle and small fridge. The breakfast can be improved upon.

5.8 Okay
Pros: The location was very good, with stunning views right on the beach. The gardens in the hotel were well kept and peaceful.
Cons: The standard of the room was very disappointing, especially given the price. We were booked a triple room, but room was same size as all others, with 2 extra beds for children, crammed in. The photos on Booking.com are quite misleading, and much darker in reality. The hotel description said there was air conditioning in the room - this was not the case. There is wifi in public areas, but if you want it in the room you need to pay more. The bathroom was clean but very basic, again not worth the expensive room price. The breakfast was ok, but with a small choice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place with very friendly staff. Simple but great food and tasty drinks. Spaceous and clean room with very comfortable bed and a little terasse. We did two trips which were very well organized by the hotel. We had a wonderful stay and would like to visit again as soon as possible. We felt very welcomed by the place and the staff.
Cons: Without a propre car it's a bit difficult to get around the place by your own. But it's possible to hire a car with a driver . It's probably more expensive that way but the drivers know the neighborhood and may give you good tips how to plan your day. They were always friendly and helpful.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location is excellent. The style of the bungalows are nice. The swimming pool area was nice.
Cons: There were not enough sunshades and sunbeds for all. Some of the sunbeds were broken and the mattresses were torn and dirty. We did not get the bungalows that we had paid for. ( “ beach front and ocean view”). Some of of the bungalows did not have air conditioning. The restaurant could only serve buffet. Food was OK, but not varied. They could not provide the things we asked for, one day they were out of gin, the other of coke or tonic. The cushions in the sitting rooms were dirty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow... idillic location right next to a beautiful white sand beach. Caring professional new Manager with wonderful staff who were so friendly and worked so hard to make our stay amazing. Fantastic pool. Monkeys in the trees and beautiful birds... what more can I say.. Dream holiday on a lovely island Hakuna Matata!!
Cons: All perfect
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pool was much bigger than the photos suggest.
Cons: Expensive
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is great and quiet. A short walk from the “busier” part of Paje
Cons: They put cute flowers all over your bed but unfortunately they put small ants all over the bed.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The beach and the very nice swimming pool
Cons: Very bad Wifi. Slow speed
6.3 Good
Pros: The open space and direct access to the Beach
Cons: Beach cleanliness, and general cleanliness in all places we visited. (not resorts related) Waste water from some resorts are fed into Beach areas. Zanzibar needs to educate Resort Owners and local population re waste control and pollution

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Beach view
Cons: the place is unkempt, and staff a least concerned about the cleanliness of the place
7.5 Good
Pros: Fabulous location with beautiful sea views and excellent, caring and helpful staff. The hotel was old but well serviced and adequately maintained.
Cons: The restaurant and bar were not properly stocked, many items were "out of stock". The staff did their best without the proper means to provide good service.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Without a doubt magnificent, a team to the little soint, very generous, nice, nice, and very present and attentive to our needs. Located across the beach and one of the best place on the entire coast. We will come back for sure.
Cons: Wifi network for rooms. Small space to wash equipement of kitesurf and so.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The bungallows have an amazing view. The ocean is light turquoise and the beach is huge with white sand. The rooms and the restaurant are very clean, the houskeeping is very good. The beds are always clean and tidy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is ok.
Cons: It could be a little paradise, but there is a lot of inappropriate things, the environment is quite messy. Not dirty, but unsettled. On the palms live a colonie of crow, there are very loud at morning. If you want to sleep, take the earplugs from airplane.
8.8 Excellent

5.5 Okay
Pros: The location of the property was great and this was pretty much it!
Cons: Our bungalow was very worn-down with poor facilities. There was no air con so was impossible sleep at night. Although we loved the location and would not stay there again.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is not 6 stars hotel but for us was the best hotel in zanzibar. For price what we paid was more then excelent. Nice view, pleasand staff always happy to help, good breakfast and meals from restaurant. After couple of days we went friends but they always was ready and always treat us like VIP guests. We had room service twice a day.
Cons: Be good if we can have there small fridge in the house and kettle.

Pros: STAFF, location the villa
Cons: food could have been better
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was big and confortable, with lots of windows and light comming in but the privacy was amazingly respected because there were no windows or doors directly to each other! The common areas were beautiful! Great pool, great beach chairs and beach service. Right beside a kite center. The food was good and with a lot of options. But the cherry in the cake was the service! Everybody was always ready to help and to make your stay pleasant! We requested a lot from the staff and they never let us down! First class service and hospitality! Highly recommend kisiwa on the beach for a relaxing vacation!
Cons: They could have more option of drinks and beers!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: You don’t get harassed at the beach in front of the hotel. The water is pristine blue and the hotel sits right on the beach, no cliffs you have to climb down or anything as there are in other parts of Zanzibar. The staff is always so friendly.
Cons: I’d like them to not use plastic straws.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Kisiwa on the Beach was a great hotel in a great location with beach front access. The colour of the water at the beach was amazing. The villa's were very spacious and clean. The food for half board was great and there was always a great selection of items to choose from for both Breakfast and Dinner. The best thing about Kisiwa on the Beach is the staff! Thanks so much to Jerry, Boniface, Happy, Janeth, Stanley and Salome along with everyone else on the team. The welcome, the hospitality, the care - it was amazing. I can highly recommend staying here and you won't regret it.
Cons: I liked everything about this place!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast Juice was absolutely Tropical Delicious
Cons: The Card payment is very very Inconvenient
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really chilled atmosphere with great facilities. Food and drink was brilliant and staff were lovely. Beach about 3 minute walk away from which you can walk to Paje or Jambiani.
Cons: Beds were a little hard and quite low level lighting in the bedroom. Some noise early one morning from other guests.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The food was good, but it took them exactly 1 hour to bring it (burger, wrap etc.)
Cons: There is no towel in the rooms! The quality of bedsheets was really really bad, they looked like second hand. The fans on the ceiling were too old, making too much noice so we could not sleep. Without the fan working it is impossible to sleep coz it is very hot and humid.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed the fact that there was relative silence and that the Music was soft and not blaring as is often the case in such lodges. The pool area is your best selling Point. Staff and Management were very helpful and Kind. Due to a good Response on the Internet I also felt safe and acknowledged. Thank you.
Cons: I think that when you add it all together, that it is very expensive. Having a Card machine which only opperates $ is also very expansive. Sadly the surrounding area on the coast is strewn with plastic - I had so enjoyed the lack of litter in the rest of the country and the fact that Dar Es Salaam is so clean. This is not a comment on the lodge as such but more the industry and area, and answers the question whether I would return or not. Would be nice to be served real coffee. That should not be too difficult in a country which grows lovel coffee. In General I found the Island very expensive. The pillow also smelt strange (of sweat) and I was glad to have my own. Encountered one cocroach in the shower - They are sneaky guys. A litte stool or table in the shower would also be nice so that everything does not land on the Floor.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly atmosphere, very nice staff. 5 min. walk until the beach. Great and clean swimming pool. Good an cheap food and drinks at the restaurant and bar. Nice party with live music and barbecue every Thursday.
Cons: The little lizards in the shared bathroom and in the room. Not having windows and AC. The lodge is not in the village but between Paje and Jambiani,
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Very kind staff and quiet place. Nice food.
Cons: There was a rat in our room, we had to change the room at the night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The whole site was beautiful. The design was lovely and though not directly on the beach (across the road) the sandy ground and palm trees made it feel like you were. The accommodation was gorgeous. Individual huts which were spacious, clean and tastefully decorated in a traditional style. The bar and pool were situated just after the entrance with the accommodation set a little further away. However, the site is small so it felt cosy and very safe. And finally the staff; from owners, to bar staff to housekeeping, everyone was amazing and very friendly. By the end of our 3 day stay we knew everyone’s name and they certainly contributed to our fantastic time at Demani. We loved it all and would definitely go back!
Cons: There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. It was fabulous.

Pros: I loved the cozy cabins, clean and nice with your own little balcony. A little far from the main area of Paje. Nice walk of 20min along the beach or you can get a bike ride/cab. This will cost you extra money during your stay tho. Good food, smiling people, pole pole life for sure :)

Pros: Really nice Hotel with nice equipment, like hammocks and sofas outside. The staff was very welcoming and nice to us. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast very good and big. The restaurant is also serving really good food. It’s 5 /10 min walking from the beach which was the perfect place to be outside the touristic area and close enough to the beach and restaurants... big thanks to the staff who has been very kind !!!! I definitely recommend this place for a few days or more !
Cons: A bit complicated to find, maybe a sign from the main road could help ;)

Pros: Very comfortable at the outside. They respond to requests really fast especially when it is about food. They organize adventures and taxis for good prices. Food is really good!
Cons: There were some comunication problems sometimes. Wifi is often not working. The room was very hot in the night.

Pros: The staff was awesome! Seldom had such a generous and caring host
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly. They went out of their way to get us fresh aloe vera. Breakfast was delicious: a choice of pancakes, fried eggs, or Spanish omlette. Great hang out area with lounges and hammocks. 5 min walk to the beach, 15 to town. Good food in the restaurant. The only thing to note is the location on the maps (Google and mapsMe) was one street off from the actual location. Apparently this is because the town added a new street and the maps didn't update. So if think you are lost, just go a little farther up the main road and you'll see the sign. They came and got us for free when we called, which was super nice of them!
Cons: Nothing. Everything was wonderful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It's a very cute and cosy place with friendly, and nice staff. They are helpful, smiling and generous. Authentic place and people. The breakfast (included) is so good (and huge). Every day it is different. They also have a wonderful lemongrass and ginger or spice (cloves) tea. And a real coffee (machine, not powder). The rooms are nice and comfortable. You are just across the seaweed centre if you are interested. It is just 5 minutes walk from the beach. And 5 minutes (maximum) from the first shop to buy daily needs. It is cheap, which is rare in Zanzibar.
Cons: The wifi is not always working but they will do everything they can to make it work if you ask.

Pros: The place is very nice and in a very good location. The staff is really friendly. Good place to be in Paje
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: We liked the breakfast and the fact that some of the guys are very helpful. If it wasn't for Aboo we would have given this place a higher rating.
Cons: There was one staff called Abu/Aboo who tried to rob us of our money. He had a deal with a partner car company called Bluu that tried to steal our money after we had rented a faulty car from them. He was not happy that we wanted our money back as he would not get his side of the deal - as a middle man, and tried to really take our money! We had to take extreme steps to receive our money back. We were so traumatised by this that we had to leave and had to shorten our stay here by 2 days. The rest of the staff, were indeed lovely and catered to our needs attentively well. The place is hard to find as it is off the main road. The rooms get extremely hot at night and the mosquito nets do not cover all the bed. The rooms are also not cleaned, but we never expected this given that is was a hostel. The villa experiences blackouts which lasted 1 day out of the 2 days we were there.

Pros: The staff were amazing, helped us with everything we needed , always with a big smile. Took care of everything we need. Good location and very cheap.
Cons: The rooms are not that clean, but not so bad.
