Pros: Great hosts couldn't do enough for you, lovely location and hotel spotlessly clean.
Pros: Friendly staff, the view is beautiful and the bed is very comfortable. Great breakfast and coffee!
Cons: Limited food options on the menu. This is because it was not peak season. The food we got was nice! And it was a little bit hard to find.
Pros: Hosts were very helpful. Views from rooms and terrace were splendid.
Cons: Evening menu a bit limited
Pros: The team at Puerta Del Oriente was extremely helpful and made us feel like we were at home from the moment we stepped inside. They made sure we had everything we needed, but also gave us the space to enjoy ourselves and the surrounding location. The view was incredible and waking up to the mountains was exactly what we needed. It was a short drive to Mountains as well as the beach and it was nice to be able to get out during the day, but come home to an area that was undisturbed. I can't say enough nice things about our stay and we will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Pros: loved the location - well situated in Panes, a town that has access to lovely walks, activities, restaurants. The owners were so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast (minimal with juice, coffee and croissant, not my norm! .... but actually looked forward to it morning)
Cons: Noisy at times (lorries on the main road - no air con so we had to keep the windows open).
Pros: Very friendly people. Seemed genuinely glad to see you and have you stay
Pros: The owners were very responsive to our needs nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: The bathroom was very hot.
Pros: Friendliness of owners
Cons: Breakfasts very basic
Pros: Everything was perfect. Antonio and his wife are perfect hosts. The hotel is lovely and location very central in Panes.
Pros: Ferry 3 hours delayed after very bad crossing. Arrived at hotel late but greeted warmly by Antonio. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast from 08:30 to 11:00, ideal for anyone wanting a lie-in after an arduous crossing.
Cons: Nothing at all
Pros: Antonio the landlord was very helpful as due to ferry delay I was very late
Cons: Google maps shows wrong location
Pros: Antonio and his wife are charming and welcoming people. They take good care of their guests. Breakfast is simple but very nice. Rooms are cosy. The proprety is close by car from entry points to Picos de Europa National Park.
Cons: Nothing in particular. We enjoyed our stay there.

Both Spanish high pillows and small ones are available on bed and in closet. Small tv. Diner on site is possible. There is a common living room. Internet was working good for video calls in the room. Pros: Very charming indeed, set in beautiful countrside and tastfully decorated. The owners (a couple) were very helpful and extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.
Pros: A perfect start to our 2-week tour of Northern Spain, about 45 min from Santander. A gem of a property, beautifully historic and unique with lots of antique furniture owned by the family. There is a little terrace bar in the orchard to enjoy an evening drink - where we were introduced to the Asturian way of drinking Sidra. Berenguela the owner was lovely (speaks great English!), chatting with us each day and making us feel at home. The simple home made breakfast set us up for the day, loved the homemade yoghurt and cakes! Great location to access the lovely coastal towns of the area and the Picos for amazing hiking. Restaurant in neighbouring village serves amazing food. Recommended!
Cons: A little tucked away but that’s why we chose it! So need a car to access towns, restaurants etc.
Pros: Very large room (rented the suite) Access to playa Franca in 10 minutes (great beach for families) Very helpful host (restaurant and beach recommendation) If you have kids, nice garden with a cat.

Pros: Such a beautiful and authentic place, right between green mountains, in the middle of nature and next to a small stream. Lovely to wake up with the sound of birds and enjoy a peaceful evening after an exciting hike in the mountain or whatever other joy the Picos have to offer. Great meals. The hosts are simply wonderful.
Pros: Beautiful setting, very peaceful place to stay for a few days. All you could hear were cowbells & the stream outside the property. The house itself was clean & comfortable, good couch and bed! The kitchen had all the basics & it was easy to park nearby. The owner was particularly helpful before & during the stay.
Pros: A wonderful little retreat to relax after days of hiking. It has a bar and restaurant (breakfast and dinner only) with a recreation room (pool table, table soccer, video games). Nestled in the woods with a creek, it's a small, ancient compound that has been remodeled. It has a wonderful vibe and the hosts are very helpful and friendly. A great place for families.
Pros: Our hosts Mikel and Eva were very friendly and funny. We got all kind of information about trips to do around. We loved this romantic place, the home-made food ("best fish soup of Asturia") and the music played by Mikel (Al Pacino).
Pros: The location was perfect for exploring the Picos di Europa. The hotel was tucked away off the main route and on our first evening we did a wonderful 30 minutes walk into the village of Alles for an amazing view and traditional village bar. The hotel was an easy drive to the Cares Gorge walk and even closer to some great swimming spots. Breakfast was simple but good with plenty of jamon, fruit, yoghurt and local honey.
Pros: A beautiful, relaxing place! The staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. The decoration is timeless and the rooms are clean and cosy. A great rural place to go on excursions from or just enjoy the green nature and stunning landscapes surrounding the peaceful hotel. Great dinners too!

Pros: Dinner was yummy and the bed was very comfortable.
Pros: excellent evening meal location directly onto the beach set in a cove with wooded hillsides
Pros: Absolutely stunning location. Breakfast self service but very nice
Cons: Our garden view room looked onto the car park so we paid an extra €15 for a sea view. The rooms are quite small and no coffee making facilities As a vegetarian there was nothing on the dining menu for me

Very reasonable prices, good local food and very handy for walking if that’s your thing. One of the best I’ve experienced.

Relax in the family-run atmosphere of this hotel. It is housed in a charming old farmhouse property in the peaceful town of Alevia. You can also participate in plenty of outdoor activities in the local area, including organised trekking tours into the mountains. This hotel enjoys a tranquil location, where you can get away from it all and visit this beautiful border region between Asturias and Cantabria.
Pros: Nice and quiet it was with a nice breakfast
Cons: Stay is expensive compared to what was offered.
Pros: You can hear cowbells and owls off in the distance. The village was extremely charming. They are the most friendliest people that I've met in ages. Highly recommend the hotel and village. I'll definitely be back! PS breakfast was amazing. Great restaurant down the hill was incredible. I can't say enough.
Pros: Absolutely wonderful hospitality by Gregorio and family. The hotel is a veritable museum to local traditions of woodwork and farming. My room was gorgeous, with everything thought out and lots of personal touches. Such excellent value for money. Highly recommended! Valerie

Pros: Arrived to awesome greeting .Great room very comfortable ,restaurant close by ,very helpful ,dried our closes as it had been raining
Pros: The beautiful old house, the views through the window, the terrace (even though we didn't use it, it's got lovely views). There is a great restaurant nearby.
Cons: We had a double room and the bed was very small. It was only 135 x 180cm! No chance for proper rest at night. The room itself was very small, too.
Pros: Lovely restored house in a little village near the coast. View of the sea and cliffs from our bedroom window. Warm welcome on arrival after a dark, rainy journey from Santander following late arrival of ferry. Lovely comfortable room. Continental breakfast, juice, coffee, assorted pastries. Free Wi-fi and parking. Would have liked to have a look round the morning after but weather put us off and we had a long journey ahead. Would recommend!!
Cons: nothing I can think of
Pros: Wonderful location! 10 minute walk through rolling hills along beautiful craggy bluffs to a quiet little beach. We ate at the restaurant nearby both nights - amazing merluza a la plancha!!!!! The staff at this property were so friendly and kind. We stayed in the highest room with the private terrace and were absolutely in love with the views.
Cons: The mattress was old and fairly uncomfortable (lumpy and sunken) by we made it work.
Pros: The owner was extremely nice to us, giving us information about places to visit and routes to take. More importantly, we left a passport in the room. It was difficult to us to return to the place because we were on a walking route. He drove to where we were to give it back to us. Unbelievable.
Pros: The location was fine in the small town and good food was just a 100 meters away.
Cons: The beds, we could feel the springs in the soft mattress. The beams were very low and hitting your head in this room was always an issue. Any one over 5’-7’ will be in danger of a head butt going to the toilet at night!
Pros: Great value (basic but comfortable). Room 1 has a sea view and has 2 bedrooms (a double and a single). Two nice restaurants within 100 metres. It is in a quiet hamlet, with passing walkers on the Camino Santiago de Compostela.

Cons: The wifi didn't work too well but that was ok for us.
Pros: Really helpful staff. A friendly place to stay. We had fun meeting pilgrims walking the Camino. Good for families.
Cons: Was not clean No WI fi in the room Mixed dorms for no apparent reason The room smelled horribly of frying during the evening and night Pilgrim menu at the restaurant was a disgrace
Pros: They were expecting us and they were friendly.
Cons: Not as clean as you would expect eg dead bugs on the tops of the beds. The food was marginal.
Pros: Location and good price
Cons: Breakfast was not very good
Pros: Had a Bar/restaurant attached
Cons: Very unfriedly personel. The woman at the reception was first finishing her whats app before talking to me. You had the impression you make them work. If you need to stay one night its ok.
Pros: The location was great. Right on the Camino del Norte. The restaurant had very good food and the service was very good.
Cons: The towels were rather damp and so was the bedding. I realize that being close to the coast has it’s problems with humidity but having dry linens and towels should be a priority for guests.

Pros: This is a gem of a Hotel set in a very quiet village with fantastic views over the countryside. Just a short drive to some excellent beaches and small towns. Clean, comfortable and relaxing.
Cons: Breakfast should have been included in the price. Ignore booking.com driving instuctions.
Pros: Historic building, sympathetically resored and appointed. Beautiful outlook over the surrounding countryside and (apart from one local festival night) quiet.
Cons: Lack of a bar or restaurant and effectively no nearby facilities, meant that we had to drive elsewhere in the evening for dinner which impacted our full enjoyment of the hotel's location. Availablity of an English tv news channel such as BBC or WiFi would have been an advantage.
