Pros: Charming and unusual. Very comfortable bed. Close to town - walking distance to great restaurants and fun things to do. Friendly staff.
Cons: Not handicapped accessible at all, and you have to carry your luggage up a curvy staircase. The check-in process needs work. It's a phone at the locked front door, but only a recording answered it... we couldn't get in until someone inside noticed we were there. Parking lot is kind of crammed, hard to navigate.
Pros: Read the other reviews and you'll get our input - superb, fun, friendly...all of the above and we can't wait to get back!
Pros: Comfortable bed was,the only thing good about the place
Pros: The motel was clean except there was a foul odor in the hallway where we stayed. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: The bed was horribly hard so we didn't get much sleep. The floor would have been more comfortable. Awful smell in the hallway was troublesome because it also came into the room.
Cons: Very noisy. We had to unplug the fridge to get any sleep. Lots of traffic noise. Lots of plumbing noise.
Pros: The location was pretty convenient for exploring the region due to it being right next to the freeway. We were bothered by the noise whatsoever.
Cons: The staff were harassing and embarassing each other upon check in which was pretty uncomfortable. Our room smelled of muggy wet dog and was pretty dirty. The bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced in a hotel. The cleaning ladies came around (very loudly) to begin housekeeping at 7:30 am, way too early. Overall the experience was one of prefer not to have again considering the price.
Pros: I did not like the harassment of the woman behind the counter by a group of four drunk men who were checking in. They were racist, she was Latina. It was an ugly scene. I feel as though having a security guard in the lobby would help people stay on better behavior.
Pros: Help was pleasant, Maria in the breakfast room was very helpful and friendly and efficient. Our room was surprisingly quiet given the location adjacent to a busy highway off-ramp. We had a construction crew in at the time and other than a little back-up beeping as they left in the morning, we really didn't notice any noise issues.
Traffic in the area can be troublesome, we were there during the week, not weekend, and had no trouble getting to or from San Francisco when we avoided rush hours. Also very convenient to roads to the coast, the redwoods and wineries and vineyards. An interesting array of dining options locally, as well.
Cons: Exiting the driveway can be awkward due to the closeness of a busy intersection but it's easy to drive a bit and u-turn so not all that big a problem.
Cons: there is a little bit of traffic noise because of proximity to freeway.
Pros: The hotel is in an old building. The building feels like the 1920's or 30's, so it's neat to see that. It rates highly for charm. It has a pleasant atmosphere and decor. It's in a great location right down town. The staff seemed friendly during my interactions.
Cons: The hotel is going through some major renovations. When I stepped off the elevator I could see all the construction happening in the rooms. It felt like I just stepped in to a horror movie set! Not much can be done about that till the renovations are complete. The walls are thin and there is no AC. the hotel does provide a fan which proved adequate. The bathroom could have used a thorough cleaning.
Pros: Nice old hotel. You can't beat the location and amenities for the price!
Cons: Being downtown it was quite loud early.
Pros: The hotel was great! It was super cute, charming, and unique. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms that don't have an in-room bathroom are very close to the hall bathroom (some rooms do have in-rooms bathrooms.) The hotel rooms were clean, and the staff was more than accommodating, helpful, and friendly! My husband and I had lots of fun staying here!
Cons: The parking situation isn't perfect. However, we came in late and had difficulty finding a spot, the front desk employee went and moved her car so we could have a spot! There was a little noise, being downtown and on a weekend, but definitely not enough to be bothersome for us.
Pros: I liked that your hotel was in a safe place. Further, everything was neat and clean.
Cons: The mattress felt like a board and didn't enjoy having to ask for a hair dryer and then return it to the office. Most hotels offer that service.
Pros: Staff was nice. Location was close to food and drink. Really in the thick of downtown Petaluma.
Cons: Yes, usually this hotel is one of the cheapest in the area next to to Motel 6, but after staying at both places, I choose Motel 6. The best thing it had going for It was that the hotel was located within walking distance to everything you came to Petaluma for. What also comes with that is every bit of noise from traffic and neighbors. No A/C (they give you a fan), communal bathrooms, and tiny rooms that were lit up from the streetlights Just go to the Motel 6 if you're looking to save. Plus they're remodeling. It won't be too long before this hotel is charging $250+ for rooms. We spent $110 and we're wishing we hadn't.
Pros: Walking distance to downtown Petaluma businesses. Honest about what it can/cannot offer. Clean room.
Cons: Could get warm. Standard room is a bit small. Hallway noise could be bothersome if other guests are loud. Need "do not disturb" signs!
Pros: Loved the original feel of 1923! Original hardwood floors, the narrow stairs, the old elevator door that had to be opened by hand, original bathtub and medicine cabinet! Beds were adequate and comfortable. Plush towels and bedding. Doors came with real keys. Windows opened to the outside and there were screens you could shut over them. Well kept, freshly painted. One has to be appreciative of historical buildings and not expect all the added comforts of modern times such as large rooms or lots of counter space.
Cons: The window was single pane and did not keep out the street noise. There is no AC in case you visit in summer. The original sink in the bathroom had visible signs of wear - authentic you could say. One must find street parking, but it isn't too difficult if you go up the side streets. All that being said, my husband and I would still recommend it for the 1923 experience.
Cons: This should only be utilized as a last resort.
Cons: Poop on the wall, multiple different hairs in shower, we stripped a bed because perfume was dropped on the comforter from previous customer and we told the front desk. Housekeeping put the same sheets and comforter on. Had to strip bed and bring everything to the front desk.
Pros: Pool was nice
Cons: Hairs on the bed sheets, vinyl flooring through out the room looked clean but was filthy. my daughter came in from the pool and dripped water so she cleaned it up with her white towel and it was completely black when she was done. so grossed out. when I complained they gave me a $15 coupon for my next stay. I think NOT.
Pros: Location; a very minimal room
Cons: No shampoo, conditioner, or facial tissue. Adequate for 2 nights while visiting Point Reyes.
Cons: Bed and pillows are super thin
Couldn't park in front of our room because the pool was there
The shower just sprays on the floor and soaks the entire thing resulting in us tracking water into the room
Pros: Clean n ez to get to from the highway
Cons: Stained in the tub
Pros: Nice staff, clean and updated room, convenient to highway. Natural preserve across street.
