Comfortable bed was,the only thing good about the place
I did not like the harassment of the woman behind the counter by a group of four drunk men who were checking in. They were racist, she was Latina. It was an ugly scene. I feel as though having a security guard in the lobby would help people stay on better behavior.
The motel was clean except there was a foul odor in the hallway where we stayed. Staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was horribly hard so we didn't get much sleep. The floor would have been more comfortable. Awful smell in the hallway was troublesome because it also came into the room.
The location was pretty convenient for exploring the region due to it being right next to the freeway. We were bothered by the noise whatsoever. The staff were harassing and embarassing each other upon check in which was pretty uncomfortable. Our room smelled of muggy wet dog and was pretty dirty. The bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced in a hotel. The cleaning ladies came around (very loudly) to begin housekeeping at 7:30 am, way too early. Overall the experience was one of prefer not to have again considering the price.
Very noisy. We had to unplug the fridge to get any sleep. Lots of traffic noise. Lots of plumbing noise.
Nice staff, clean and updated room, convenient to highway. Natural preserve across street.
Pool was nice Hairs on the bed sheets, vinyl flooring through out the room looked clean but was filthy. my daughter came in from the pool and dripped water so she cleaned it up with her white towel and it was completely black when she was done. so grossed out. when I complained they gave me a $15 coupon for my next stay. I think NOT.
Nothing Bed and pillows are super thin Couldn't park in front of our room because the pool was there The shower just sprays on the floor and soaks the entire thing resulting in us tracking water into the room
Clean n ez to get to from the highway Price
Stained in the tub
Location; a very minimal room No shampoo, conditioner, or facial tissue. Adequate for 2 nights while visiting Point Reyes.
Ambiance I was very taken back being next in line when the desk clerk asked how he could help a guest who waltzed up to the counter. I was waiting my turn & felt the person who was already staying there should not have precident over me who was next in line before them. Should I have to wait if every guest came down for something before the person in front of me was finished? If not, when should it be my turn? I would have walked out after being treated that way if I hadn't already purchased the room before arrival. Otherwise the stay was pleasant & quiet. I may return.
Sauna by pool and hot tub was a nice touch, outdoor lounging space, convenient access to Sonoma square and town. Breakfast was mediocre continental.
The rooms are on the larger size The room was dark and dingy. Don't eat the breakfast! The food is horrid. We chose Best Western because of the reviews, don't do it. We wanted to enjoy the pool, but there were leaves floating on the pool and it was expensive.
Close to the plaza so within walking distances for everything so very convenient. Loved their patio set up with fire pits and that we could walk out from our room. The floor above us must have had a family of kids bc we could hear them running and jumping early in the am and as we were getting ready for bed.
Location Affordable for area Clean Dingy Dated interiors Loud A/C Thermostat in awkward position
Bed was very comfortable Cute patio Pillows were very uncomfortable Room outdated - bath had chalk on top of chalk Toaster in the breakfast room needs to be replaced NOW. Waiting over 5 min for toast to pop up with a line behind you is NOT good.
I liked the close proximity to the downtown area and the free breakfast. the staff was extremely friendly and accomodating.
location, services, full breakfast had a very difficult time adjusting room temperature at night. one side of bed much too cold other side much too hot. had to do with air circulation from air conditioner.
Staff very knowledgable and friendly Parking too expensive
Location can't be beat. Super close to the plaza and across from a strip mall including a Whole Foods. Sloppy cleaning services, subpar breakfast, 15-min timer for bathroom light (can't take a longer shower without stepping out to turn on the light again!!) and general outdated-ness of the room with carpet that needs updating. Despite the great location I will not return, as there are more cons than pros here.
Location Old run down place.
This hotel is in a great location just around the corner from the Sonoma Square. We had a room that opened up to the pool, making my kids very happy. The room itself was spacious and clean, a good value. We will definitely stay there again. it was a fine hotel.
The hotel was great! It was super cute, charming, and unique. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms that don't have an in-room bathroom are very close to the hall bathroom (some rooms do have in-rooms bathrooms.) The hotel rooms were clean, and the staff was more than accommodating, helpful, and friendly! My husband and I had lots of fun staying here! The parking situation isn't perfect. However, we came in late and had difficulty finding a spot, the front desk employee went and moved her car so we could have a spot! There was a little noise, being downtown and on a weekend, but definitely not enough to be bothersome for us.
Walking distance to downtown Petaluma businesses. Honest about what it can/cannot offer. Clean room. Could get warm. Standard room is a bit small. Hallway noise could be bothersome if other guests are loud. Need "do not disturb" signs!
Nice old hotel. You can't beat the location and amenities for the price! Being downtown it was quite loud early.
The hotel is in an old building. The building feels like the 1920's or 30's, so it's neat to see that. It rates highly for charm. It has a pleasant atmosphere and decor. It's in a great location right down town. The staff seemed friendly during my interactions. The hotel is going through some major renovations. When I stepped off the elevator I could see all the construction happening in the rooms. It felt like I just stepped in to a horror movie set! Not much can be done about that till the renovations are complete. The walls are thin and there is no AC. the hotel does provide a fan which proved adequate. The bathroom could have used a thorough cleaning.
I liked that your hotel was in a safe place. Further, everything was neat and clean. The mattress felt like a board and didn't enjoy having to ask for a hair dryer and then return it to the office. Most hotels offer that service.
Staff was nice. Location was close to food and drink. Really in the thick of downtown Petaluma. Yes, usually this hotel is one of the cheapest in the area next to to Motel 6, but after staying at both places, I choose Motel 6. The best thing it had going for It was that the hotel was located within walking distance to everything you came to Petaluma for. What also comes with that is every bit of noise from traffic and neighbors. No A/C (they give you a fan), communal bathrooms, and tiny rooms that were lit up from the streetlights Just go to the Motel 6 if you're looking to save. Plus they're remodeling. It won't be too long before this hotel is charging $250+ for rooms. We spent $110 and we're wishing we hadn't.
Loved the original feel of 1923! Original hardwood floors, the narrow stairs, the old elevator door that had to be opened by hand, original bathtub and medicine cabinet! Beds were adequate and comfortable. Plush towels and bedding. Doors came with real keys. Windows opened to the outside and there were screens you could shut over them. Well kept, freshly painted. One has to be appreciative of historical buildings and not expect all the added comforts of modern times such as large rooms or lots of counter space. The window was single pane and did not keep out the street noise. There is no AC in case you visit in summer. The original sink in the bathroom had visible signs of wear - authentic you could say. One must find street parking, but it isn't too difficult if you go up the side streets. All that being said, my husband and I would still recommend it for the 1923 experience.
Decent room. Spa was nice. Service was poor. Left an item in room that was gone 30 minutes later and no one at hotel responded to our calls or emails. Just poor customer service.
Loved the bed and pillows and the property Terrible cell reception. At these prices we shouldn't have to pay for internet, which is also terribly slow
Friendly staff, well manicured grounds. Paper thin walls and floors, dirty room complete with hairs in bathtub and bathtub that did not drain, poor on-site parking, false advertising in photos on all major booking sites.
Was hesitant, as I chose based on stars and reviews alone - but this place was Amazing in every way. The grounds are beautiful, the staff was the kindest and warmest we've been greeted with in awhile and always ready to lend a helping or advising hand. The local town (square) was a beauty as well and while small, the stores, food and wine can keep you there all day. I'd highly recommend this place again and can not wait to come back!
Staff was great and willing to help out whenever possible Car service was complimentary Wine evenings with complimentary wine tastings Hotel texting service Free waters when heading out, great when going out for wine tastings. Not well insulated rooms which made it very cold. Occasionally some barking Self Parking gets filled quickly in the evening but they offer complimentary valet
Lovely setting Room was nice, but not 4 star - aging furniture, bad fluorescent lights, Spa facilities are fantastic Slow check-in process -- front desk never called to tell us our room was ready despite taking down number Santé restaurant didn't live up to "michelin starred" reputation Room not as spacious as advertised
Loved my upgraded room. Bed was awesome. Short drive from downtown Sonoma. Concierge emailed me a list of wineries and restaurants that was very helpful in planning our trip to wine country. Original room I booked was tiny. Upgraded for $75 more per night to a room half the size. Needs a bigger entrance sign. Immediate surrounding area looks questionable, but glen ellen and Sonoma were a short drive away
Too loud with Wine poll party with loud music till 10:30pm just OK
Nice room, great old building with solid walls (nice and quiet). Great facilities (spa and hotel pool were great). Great staff, from housekeeping to valet to spa staff. Had a great time and would stay again. Old building means no elevators or ramps, which made getting around with a baby stroller difficult. Didn't like that you had to pay for wifi, and although they had free wine tasting you had to pay for the snacks. When paying for a high-end experience it is a bummer to have to pay for things that would be easy and inexpensive to provide, like wifi and light snacks.
No elevator Only a few of the staff need more training in customer service, starting with those working at Spa
$15 internet charge ruined the stay. Would have paid higher room charge, but the extra charge was a hassle and made the place feel cheap. A bad business move.
Very nice visit - they remembered our anniversary with a bottle of champagne - very much appreciated everything was fine
1. The grounds are beautiful. 2. There was a hot tub and pool, a beautiful patio and AMAZING lobby with fireplace. 3. I had been dreaming of sitting next to a warm fireplace and reading, and it happened. It was so perfect. 4. I love the warm cookies upon arrival. 5. I also had forgotten my toothbrush and they gave me a very nice one with a travel size tooth paste (not those little toothpaste sachets). 1. The sliding door lock in our room worked about 50% of the time. I spent about 5 minutes trying to jostle it open to get my bathing suit I'd left on the patio. 2. The toilet didn't flush at all when we arrived. The engineer had to come and replaced a valve. 3. One of the towels smelled like it had been previously saturated with urine. 4. The television was so bizarre - the TV guide channel wasn't synched to the programming. The guide would say one show was on, but in fact an entirely different show was on and there was no rhyme or reason to any of it.
I was only there overnight and this is he best choice in Rohnert Park. Grounds are nice and the location is central to things to do in the area. Rohnert Park, however, isn't a destination. Pool area is very nice. Room was fine but in need of updating. Popcorn ceilings and older fixtures. The carpet in hallways and the room need replacing. Additional lighting in the large parking lot would make female travelers feel safer.
Clean room, beautiful grounds Noisy people in room next to me
I was more than pleasantly surprise. Very nice property. The beds were so amazing that my daughter and I (separate beds) did not want to pull ourselves out of them. The room was very well-appointed from the price. The lobby is great, bar area was welcoming. If I need to stay in Rohnert Park again, I would gladly return.
Spacious room, friendly desk staff, helpful service getting internet code, comfortable bed. The building itself is quite nice and the restaurant/bar area looked accommodating. I was given a handicap room even though the hotel was not very busy. It would have been nice to ask if such a room would have been acceptable. It wasn't a big deal but I would have expected such a conversation to have occurred at check in.
I booked my reservation through your company and when I got to the hotel they were sold out and did not have a room for me . It was late at night and I could not get a hotel room anywhere that night I had to sleep in my car.
The staff very friendly, helpful and they seemed to enjoy their work environment. Dead bugs in the bottom of light fixtures. The art on walls not dusted regularly. But everything else very clean.
Clean, new 1 washer for whole facility; long walks to get anywhere. Minor nuciences
Hotel is clean on the inside and the balcony has a nice view with space for multiple people to socialize. When I first arrived the toilet was plugged up; however, that was fixed immediately. The real problem was the cigars and cigarette butts left out on the balcony ledge/overlook. I did not like the smell, and had to clean up someone else's cigars and cigarettes. The cleaning crew should clean up the balcony overhang of the rooms especially since the room I staid in is non-smoking.
The beds were extremely comfortable.
It is an above average facility in a beautiful setting. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff very accommodating. The breakfast offerings were disappointing. The dresser drawer space was inadequate.
Charming and unusual. Very comfortable bed. Close to town - walking distance to great restaurants and fun things to do. Friendly staff. Not handicapped accessible at all, and you have to carry your luggage up a curvy staircase. The check-in process needs work. It's a phone at the locked front door, but only a recording answered it... we couldn't get in until someone inside noticed we were there. Parking lot is kind of crammed, hard to navigate.
Read the other reviews and you'll get our input - superb, fun, friendly...all of the above and we can't wait to get back!
Clean, walkable to town, friendly staff, Mattress and bedding was okay.
Attentive staff and very accommodating. They couldn't pull our reservation into their system so we ended up with a handicap room that was all they had left.
The lobby is beautiful. The bathroom is in need of a remodel. The shower is incredibly small.
Nicely appointed room, superior details. Excellent, responsive staff. Nice resort facilities, good location, shuttle to downtown Sonoma.
The cottages allowed for great privacy. We loved that folks had their dogs. Next time we'll bring ours! Staff was super friendly. Great location .5 m from Sonoma Square.
The friendliness and cleanliness No complimentary breakfast
Close to everything Freeway noise
Rooms dont have even have a coffee maker. Seriously ? For those prices, thag should be in every room. No fridge or microwave. Just ok for a nights sleep. Nice staff though. Ans didn't see any bugs. Always a plus.
Manager reimbursed our first night that we had no air conditioning (it was hot)!! No blow dryer. Shower head so low my husband had to kneel to take a shower. Fixed the air conditioner for our second night, much more comfortable. Close to a number of restaurants.
The location was great, right near the Doubletree where the conference I was attending was located. Easy on and off the freeway, parking is convenient, lots of fast food and stores nearby. The TV works. The price is super cheap for the area--but the place sucks. There was a puddle of bleach in the bathroom, which ruined my socks and pajamas. The staff didn't seem to care when I mentioned it as I checked out. Also, when I arrived the toilet wasn't flushed--ew! And the shower is so short it's uncomfortable to crouch (and I'm only 5'7"), and the water pressure is a dribble. And the sheets are so rough they abraded my elbows. I know it's an economy motel, but it was pretty bad.
It's close to casino- wal mart- Taco Bell- and free way. The main thing it's saving is money to use for other things. We have family to visit there and we like our privacy. So we could afford to visit and stay in a hotel. Very clean- nice beds. Not fancy but everything you need. It's stupid to pay more unless you like to throw money away. If you want a newer fancier hotel- you can pay 100 more a night - but it will be the exact same- with a cheap buffet breakfast---that is not worth $100 or so extra. I highly recommend this place for a good night sleep and a quiet room. It's clean and they have coffee in the morning and you don't need more - save your. Money and stay here. Only don't have a view - I like views. No biggie for me. Price makes it worth it.
The location and staff were very helpful. The beds were super uncomfortable, I woke up sore. They speak of having a zero tolerance for noise, but Harleys arriving in the parking lot and people walking up and down the balcony at 11pm woke me up a couple of times.
Room with strong smoke smell, bathroom was not clean. Low quality that is not consistent with the price.
Got very little value for the money. No amenities. Felt like a 40 dollar motel. Location next to the freeway. Single chair. The good news - the bed was fairly decent. Everything but the bed. Noisy and odd people staying there.
Very basic, but very clean, rooms. Staff was cheery and helpful. Taco Bell and Burger King are a stone's throw from the front door, as is a fuel station. Lots of other restaurants and shopping opportunities nearby. It's quite close to the highway, so noise can be an issue, especially on the back side. While I wouldnt choose Good Nite Inn for a grand vacation, it is an excellent, inexpensive stop over and I highly recommend it as such.
Price was more reasonable than others. Clean. Most of the staff were pleasant. Noisy...freeway noise and other customers. Bring your own towels because they only give you two and a wash cloth for two people, not even a hand towel for the sink. One tiny bar of soap to use both in the shower and at the sink. We got extra towels but then when we left the room, they were evidently taken by staff because they were gone when we returned to the room. No blow dryer. I guess you get what you pay for.
Staff was very helpful on a couple of non-standard requests The mattress most likely hadn't been changed since the place opened.
The grounds were lovely and offered a number of places to sit or relax
Friendly staff, nice place to stay in Sonoma. You could hear everytime someone walked up stairs from us, a bit noisy.
The garden and grounds are beautiful! The restaurant on-site has great food and we enjoyed every day there. The rooms were spacious and the service was great. We enjoyed a 'couple-day' at the spa and were very impressed. Of the seven nights there, one night we had a neighbor that was a little loud. It quieted down by 10:30 and we never felt it was bad enough to call the front office. My wife said the only 'not-like' about the week was that we could not stay longer.
I had one of the best massages that I have ever experienced. The entire staff was consistently friendly. I felt that I was appreciated as a customer. I really liked everything about this hotel.
The stay was very pleasant. Maid service to the rooms had a communication gap, but we were able to communicate with front office staff. Although we recieved an upgrade, the room was for handicapped individuals, whi I'm sure could have bettter used the room. Front desk was not totally honest when we asked to move to another suite. The honesty issue mentioned above. There was another non-handicap suite available and empty, but we were told it was occupied. I visited the room, so I know it was not occupied at the time.
I would recommend the MacArthur to all of my friends. No
Pleasant welcome, obliging front desk staff. Beautiful gardens, and a 4 block walk into Sonoma Plaza. Room was very clean and comfortable. Only issue was the very miserable continental breakfast - and the usual awful US coffee.
The people were very helpful. When my credit card was stolen they were easily ably to transfer it to an out of state family member. I thought the food at the hotel restaurant was rather overpriced for what it was.
great place to stay
Great hotel. We will def stay there again in the future. The spa was lovely as well.
Liked layout of property - use of pool and spa were nice - saddles restaurant was good experience - like the square of sonoma
This is more than just a hotel, it is an experience. We did not have time to use all of the facilities on offer, but those that we did were second to none.
The room's setting, with it's private garden and secluded, peaceful nature, were outstanding. We loved the room's decor and style, and the huge bathroom with the soaker tub were big plusses. The breakfast and the afternoon wine and cheese reception were both great.
The room was so very comfortable, absolutely great knowledgeable staff, who know the answer to any question you could ask. Also a great selection of guest towels in different sizes. Nothing
This hotel is amazing, a great place to get away and relax. The atmosphere is calm and soothing. The grounds are beautiful and the interiors are gorgeous. Breakfast is lovely and simple but wonderfully executed. Whether staying in the main house or in the zen suites, the hotel is worth the trip. We've stayed here 4 times and never had a bad moment.
quiet and comfortable the person at the front desk was not nice at check in. she for some reason only got nice after check in. friends staying at the hotel thought the same thing. your 1st impression was not a welcome one.
Fortunately for us, we were upgraded to a suite. It was incredible, filled with high-end designer furnishings: tony mix of Senufo (African) stools, Shoji (Japanese) screens, Kuba (African) pillows. Huge granite bathtub with view into private interior Japanese courtyard (bamboo, rocks.) Doorless shower with two heads. Double granite bowl sinks on granite Parson's style cabinet. Black cement floors, two loveseats on rug in front of gas fireplace. Private deck with lounge chairs facing brook. Nightly wine and cheese samplings and a daily gourmet breakfast: fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, organic yogurt, some type of egg dish, quiche, French roast coffee. Our rug was not vaccumed (we had dropped cookie crumbs on it) and our coffee supply was not replenished. Not a huge problem, but for an establishment of this quality, a bit surprising.
there is a little bit of traffic noise because of proximity to freeway.
Help was pleasant, Maria in the breakfast room was very helpful and friendly and efficient. Our room was surprisingly quiet given the location adjacent to a busy highway off-ramp. We had a construction crew in at the time and other than a little back-up beeping as they left in the morning, we really didn't notice any noise issues. Traffic in the area can be troublesome, we were there during the week, not weekend, and had no trouble getting to or from San Francisco when we avoided rush hours. Also very convenient to roads to the coast, the redwoods and wineries and vineyards. An interesting array of dining options locally, as well. Exiting the driveway can be awkward due to the closeness of a busy intersection but it's easy to drive a bit and u-turn so not all that big a problem.
Everything was conviently located. Everything clean. Staff was very friendly especially lady at the front desk with short black hair! Wish I would have payed attention to her name but she was very friendly. Hot tub was great.
Very nice hotel for the money.
The hotel is beautiful! The beds are comfortable and who doesn't love breakfast included.
this place delivers little extra in every way… extra clean love the ping-pong table
Great place to stay. Breakfast was wonderful and filling. The location was very convenient. I would stay here again.
/The room was large and neat with an outdoor deck. Bathroom was warm. Must have radiant heat. Nice decor. Desk clerks very helpful. Spots on the rug. No refrigerator or microwave. Did have use of the one in the breakfast area. All fabric items were wrinkled. Could not figure out the Keurig coffee machine. Alarm clock didn't work.
