The view Nothing apart from the hair dryer was to noisy
Booking process was fine. - Over-priced for what you get - when came back in the evening the room was not cleaned - facilites are poor
sea view the hotel was very cold not comfortable in gerneral areas cancelled second nigtht and lost money
On arrival we had been upgraded to a sea view room and what a room, large patio doors opened to balcony with chairs/tables and looked out over the sea, wonderful. The room was spacious and well furnished. The staff were very friendly. We eat in the restaurant in the evening, the meal was excellent could not fault it, we have been let down in the past with bad hotel meals, this has to be one of the best. All in all we had a good stay. The only complaint we have is that the bathroom was very small, but for 1 night it did not matter and did not spoil our stay.
views, restaurant, service, staff, health treatments wine prices high
The location and view
We loved this hotel and found it to be one of the best we have stayed in in the UK,Situated right on the beach, beautiful views from all the windows.Large heated outdoor pool ,indoor pool and well equipt gym, fantastic gourmet food and all the staff were so nice and friendly and couldn't do enough to help. We will be returning next year for a longer stay .(can't wait !!! ) Only the weather !!
Excellent Restaurant & Friendly Staff. sumptuous room with biggest TV ever seen
Rooms were recently refurbished and fabulous views of the sea The rooms had a refrigerator but no mini bar
Lovely hotel/restaurant in very good taste and beautiful surroundings. Our room was very small, elegant bathroom.
I was told the hotel remains open in the night and I could return any time. I returned at 3 am and found the entrance locked from inside. The owner had to wake up and was not happy about it. I had specifically asked about opening in the night and did not appreciate a stranger expressing displeasure at my late return. I was there for a printing job that ran late in the night, the only reason to book a hotel there instead of returning home to London.
if you love your food then this is the place to stay fine dining at it's best noise from other parts of the restaurant were heard in our room.
Peaceful, comfortable and excellent food and service.
Breakfast, comfortable bed, attractive surroundings Lack of staff on reception. Room not ready on arrival.
Very quiet though a little far out of the town therefor a car is essential We did not eat there other than breakfast but the diners we saw on our return seemed tobe well cared for Roomalittlesmall so there was no room for extra chairs
Helpful staff, good food, clean and comfortable room
Room was very clean and bed comfortable. There was nothing to dislike.
Very good contnental breakfast There was no hot water in the room at 3.30pm. When I mentioned it later, suggestion was we should have rung down and they would have switched it on! Also, the steam shower didn't work and we had to ask for biscuits promised on our arrival. Staff didn't seem to particularly care when we pointed each of these things out
Clean hotel Size of room.
Leisure facilities £15 to pay for car parking. No mention of this until we had arrived. Staff could be a little overzealous. We received the bill for our evening meal before we had had our dessert and coffee and our table was cleared while we were getting our cooked breakfast
A very comfortable bed having to wait in line to get a breakfast table
The hotel was very comfortable. The service in the restaurant for breakfast was not good.
old world charm but shows signs of fading service in Oscars restaurant fell well below expected standard
It was a disaster. We could not stay. We were given a room next to their waste hold area. The window would not open because all the rubbish bins were just outside. The room was tight and horrible. We left immediately. See our comments of 'what we liked'. Terrible hotel. Needs total modernisation, as location is good. Need new staff, training, etc. avoid staying there at all costs!
Received room upgrade. Very good service
good customer service rooms quite small
Nice spacious room and spacious general areas staff were very obliging. Could not control temperature in room which got very hot. But in fairness that is a problem a lot of older hotels have.
I liked the atmosphere, facilities and the staff who were most helpful and friendly. I did experience some problems with accessing my room with the card that was provided to me. It often didn't work and this caused me some inconvenience. I would have been much better off with a good old fashioned key! However, the staff made every effort to resolve this problem by upgrading me to a different room with a sea view. I considered this to be outstanding customer service.
The breakfast was very delightful, lot of choices and they do cater for vegetairans and those who use soya milk. The spa facilities were good. However, I would say that the hotel needs refurbishment and some area needs modernisation. Being told that we are limited to one towel each by one particular member in the spa club. This was not the case with other staff members.
The buffet breakfast was superb, especially the honeycomb. Im the first room we were given the central heating was not wotking and we had to move to another room, but nobody came to help us with our luggage and we had to carry it all ourselves - not what one expects from a 4-star hotel especially as my wife and I are in our late seventies
Location was great. Very close to restraunts, parking, the Bournemouth Pier and Bournemouth Park However, if you are looking at the cheaper rooms you be better served by Premier Innnext door. Service was poor at the front desk and breakfast and breakfast whilst adequate was not at the quality I would have expected. Staff were very disjointed; my pregnant wife asked for some decaf-tea for our room and was advised "the bar might have some". Would have expected them to sort it out. Room location was in the back of beyond with stair only access. Cheaper rooms at this hotel not recommended.
Where the hotel is situated.
feeling of luxury
scenery and access to local facilities Did not like the security light outside the room which made it difficult to sleep, also a very hot winter duvet on the bed!
Great location, great food, good comfortable rooms Its not family friendly hotel. We stayed in Sandbanks Hotel 2 weeks ago with our 1 year old son and its was much better. Staff in Harbour Heights really unfriendly!
The views over poole harbour from our hotel room were fabulous and the food excellant and very well presented. Not really child friendly
fantastic room with superb sea view
The breakfast was well cooked and elegantly presented. The price!
As a Hungarian , I really appreciated to order the breakfast in my mother language :) Otherwise, the room was superb, good quality wooden wall , bed was super comfy, , beautiful bathroom, and the harbour view was fantastic .. We had a fantastic dinner in the AA 2 rosettes restaurant in the hotel as well.
The staff were very gracious and helpful. Particularly Catherine (the lady from SA) who greeted us at breakfast. We didn't use the dining room in the evening but the breakfast choice was of exceptionally high standard and the fruit salad was 'out of this world' We went into the bar one evening (Saturday September 2) and I was very grateful to Andrea who very promptly came forward to help me out of a potentially rather embarrassing situation when the spoon on the saucer on which I was carrying my Latte fell on the floor. She changed the spoon and carried the latte to a table and apologised for what had happened so I didn't feel so embarrassed! Next morning I was glad to see her again at breakfast to find out her name and to thank her. Doors donot close quietly. Latte cups donot sit safely on the saucers.(see above) Barristers may benefit from training on how to make a latte/cappuccino to the same high standard as Marks and Spencers.
Breakfasts. Views.clean friendly staff. Due to wedding receptions car parking difficult
Friendly informative staff, situated within easy walking distance of harbour, shops and attractions. Handy attached parking.
location was superb, easy access, cleanliness the bed was extremely uncomfortable, spolt the stay
Helpful staff, clean rooms, good facilities and good breakfast
I got there late and all I wanted was to go to my room and rest. The reception staff were professional, got me checked in without much ado and I appreciated that
Facilities were excellent, A.C. in the rooms which is essential. The coffee was bad problably granules in the machine.
Value for price
location-near to bus station and dolphin shopping centre
ciggarette smoke smell
Location was excellent and having an adequate breakfast inc. in the price. Only disappointment was the quality of the coffee with breakfast
Great city centre location when departing, exit route is confusing
The staff were very friendly. The restaurant overlooking the beach was really nice and great food. The location is its unique feature. The rooms were a little bit dated in the decor department and could do with updating and being a little more contemporary. The single room was quite small but expected as single.
Fabulous food in the Brasserie! Good quality breakfasts I'm a single businees woman- always shoved in a small room overlooking the carpark. For my 3 night stay it would have been nice to have a balcony of some kind so I could sit outside. The reason I chose Sanbanks was as the website said most rooms had a balcony.
Good value excellent location
the view from the room really had the wow factor, it was absolutley stunning with the beach/sea so close. the quality of the furnishings in the room did not match the outstanding view, an over priced room when you consider you paid the additional £40.00 for the view.
seaview restuarant for dinnr was fantastic, the food was superb the staff were attentive and helpful and its was great value the leisure facilites were very dissapointing and run down, basic things were not thought through eg one one towel for two guests, also we were not delivered our breakfast dispite ordering it.
Staff were really helpful and friendly
The effort that went into ensureng my friends wedding reception was perfect! Stone cold breakfast at 07.10am on Saturday morning and the length of waiting time for everything needed....even a pint glass of water!
Helpful staff and decent service - better than you usually find in the UK. Breakfast was copius. It has a beautiful setting, which even in the depths of winter was magical.
The room, the service, the food
Early breakfast v good, plenty of room to work
My room was lovely (airy, clean, beautifully decorated) and the staff member who checked me was exceptionally helpful and welcoming... I would definately stay again! The manager working in the morning seemed irritated that I wanted breakfast - but excellent poached eggs made up for it! Great use of local produce in the restaurant, however I would have liked to have seen more effort paid to sustainability in the rooms...
The room was comfortable if simple but having the Loch Fyne restaurant downstairs was great. In particular the breakfast, included in the price of the room, was really special. No complaints really. Car park is shared with the restaurant and since our arrival coincided with peak time it was a bit tricky finding a space but staff were helpful and this was quickly sorted out. Carpet in room was a bit stained but nothing serious. Slightly noisy but again not a problem for us. For a rare overnight away from our three kids we didn't mind a bit of noise ;)
Firstly, al the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food options, choices and quality were excellent, The rooms were tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean,,,Overall, absolutely spot-on, could not fault the stay there at all. Well done .....
To Many to mention, None!!
Restaurant was attached.
Affordable and comfortable.
Staff were very helpful and profesional We had to change our room after the first night as the road traffic noise kept us awake from 3.30am. The windows on that side of the building were not double glazed which would have reduced this problem. We were refunded the cost of the room for that night and moved to a different room which was quieter and had double glazing. The hotel is refered to as the Premier Inn "Poole Center" indicating that it is in the center of the town, it is not. It is a 15-20 minute walk from the center of the town.
Reception staff were very good, although were kept waiting to book in as he was checking other hotels for a couple who hadn't booked. I thought this was good business practice but would have been better if he had served those who had booked first. No chairs in room which was unacceptable. There was spare single settee but it didn't have a mattress on. Customers would enjoy a cumfy chair to sit on instead of having to sit or lie on the bed to relax.
Location was great
Clean comfortable rooms. Friendly, helpful hotel staff. No enough tea/coffee sachets in room.
The comfort of the beds and quality of the bedding Nothing
The restaurant/pub attached to the hotel is one of the best we have been to. Staff and service for breakfast very friendly and efficient. It would be better for smokers not to hang around outside the reception entrance so the reception does not continuously smell of stale smoke. It was awful to walk through.
when handing in my key the receptionist could not give me a receipt for the room have requested copy but by 6th July still waiting
Everyone was helpful & friendly. An ideal spot for all locations in the area.
Decor very very tired (corridors & bathroom) It was a typical old fashioned "seaside" hotel... the bathroom hasn't been changed since the 70's (nasty pink suite) and had a mouldy/damp smell. The room also felt extremely draughty and cold, despite the heating being on! The staff were friendly enough though. So to sum up, it is OK for one night.
Welcoming staff for English speakers but noticed lack of skill at reception for foreigners ie rapid, complex sentences, given once, no body language or reference to local town map etc. I saw two foreigners bemused despite being given instructions which only I could just follow. A little bit ot raining might help! Just a friendly observation - not meaning to be too critical!
The staff and the breakfast were superb. The bedroom smelt, believe it emminated from the mattress. Arrived late too tired not until next day the smell had ingressed into clothing. Decor poor and needs complete refurbishment.
the pool and sauna .breakfast the room was an insult ,bathroom outdated and very dirty shower unfit to use . plugs loose on walls wallpaper a disgrace ,torn and dirty.
This hotel offered free WIFI & Parking, and the room only cost £32! The receptionist was very helpful and friendly and I got a free room upgrade. The food in the diner was very good and well priced. Can't really work out why people were moaning, the price is fantastic and everywhere is very clean. Yes, the hotel is a bit dated but its comfortable and the cheapest around so well worth it for a short break. everyone stop moaning and pay more if you expect 5 star services At best, the floorboards outside my room were a bit creaky and there was no blind in the bathroom, which didn't particularly bother me
Central location very limited carparking hotel needs a make over, quite dated
we found the location ideal for the shops and theatre. The breakfast was very good and the staff very polite and friendly. creaky floorboards and the housekeeping staff started vacumming at 8.30 in the room upstairs. Also building work taking place although this was probably reflected in the price we paid.
a up grad of room free of carge noizy nabbears but was lookd aferter
The friendly staff in the restaurant The Reception staff, the arrival and caheck in procedure was unprofessional and the temperature cold. I was left for 15 minutes before the receptionist acknowledged my arrival with no apology for keeping me waiting.
Friendly welcome at reception. Good value dinner - nice staff ground floor room with cafe outside. OK for us in winter but you would have little privacy in the summer with the curtails open and people eatin/drinking right outside the window.
The Location The resturant hours of service do not match the information given out by reception. Breakfast on sunday was from 08:30-10:0, but we were told it was from 08:00 - 10:00.
This was the second time we stayed in this hotel and this time we were given a much better room for the same money.
The main reason for staying here was they are dog friendly & the location is very good. The room was tired & I felt that the hotel generally was in need of a makeover. The £5 charge a night for parking is more than the public pay for parking during the day
The views from the restaurant and ease of access into Poole and along the coast. The lounge was comfortable when available, ie functions. Disliked only having one comfortable chair in a twin room. Having to pay a carpark charge as a guest. Limited guest dinner service when a function was on.(We left without dessert and coffee offered)
the view lots i did not like i use hotels all around the world for my work there was no manager on duty over the week end i was there the bar had only one person serving and he had to do drinks and food the bar kept running out of stock no spirits no beer no manager but lots of people wanting serving it must be in the interest of the hotel to sort this out as the more money in the till and happy people is good for every one
Excellent attention at reception, excellent breakfast had seaview room perfect view
Good position Had to pay for car park. I feel it should be free for customers.
The hotel was very shabby and not worth the money
