Boutique island getaway GoldenEye’s name is not a coincidence; this idyllic cluster of whitewashed cottages and suites on Jamaica’s Oracabessa Bay is indeed the inspiration for the Brosnan Bond film. But this is no gimmick either: author Ian Fleming penned all 14 of his James Bond novels in a villa that now forms the hotel’s centrepiece. He may not have had access to the swim-up hillside spa, the watersports area or the treetop restaurant, but the setting alone was enough to keep him here – and these days, there’s no excuse to leave.
Pros: All aspects of the stay were amazing
Cons: Limited dining options on the night we were there
Cons: They need more vegan food options.
Pros: The vibe, the music, the events, etc. GoldenEye needs to communicate via a daily newsletter what events are available at the resort every day.
Cons: There were not enough traditional Jamaican options for breakfast.
Pros: Location was amazing
Cons: It could have been a little less expensive.
Pros: Beautiful place. We stayed in a beach hut overlooking the snorkerlers cove. The coral was very healthy looking. It is fun just walking around the whole resort, beautiful lay-out. Very relaxed environment. The smoked marlin for breakfast was excellent. Beautiful sunset.
Cons: No complaints. Will have to stay a bit longer next time. Should have swam around the lagoon.
Pros: This was a very special boutique stay!!
Pros: Excellent personalized service, food and the feeling as though I am there by my self. The style and design of the hotel which makes it feel very personal.
Cons: I found the food expensive and was disappointed that my food and massages bill cost more than the cost of the nightly stay at the end.
Pros: wonderful location, attentive staff, nice facilities, not at all crowded
Cons: pricey but worth it
Pros: Beautiful property & room, very clean. Extremely comfortable king bed & luxury sheets. Ceiling fan& ac. Stand up paddle boards on the lagoon were fun. Great breakfast included. Complimentary rum party Friday night was fun. Sweet cats roaming about. Lots of different pools & beaches. Snorkeling in the cove was pretty good. Eat at Dor’s just down the road for good, reasonable food. Goldeneye welcome cocktail was delicious! Free bottle of rum.
Cons: Not quite as much privacy on our deck as we would have liked. Restaurant & drinks very expensive. Our octopus was burned but waiter insisted it was just right. Not many choices for restaurants nearby.
Pros: This place is a little piece of paradise. The accommodations are comfortable and private. My first dinner there was one of the best meals I’ve had in my life! The staff were super helpful and friendly. We’ll definitely be coming back...maybe every year :)
The Orchids is in Three Hills St Mary, 7 miles from Ocho Rios and 31 km from Runaway Bay. There are two private bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a shared kitchen, living room, dining room and terraces. Cable T/V is available in the family room. The home sits on three acres of land.
Pros: Hugo is a very nice host. A real gentleman and available on WhatsApp. His house is very good also. Clean, lot of space, two terraces with superbe views. Hugo gave me a lesson about trees that you can find in Jamaica and which are growing in the garden just below the terraces. A fancy house I would say ! Bedrooms are as good as the rest of the house.
Cons: Nothing wrong to say about this place, for some people it might be a little bit far from the town/beach but for me it was great. I loved to stay on this peaceful place on top of the hill, and taxis can bring you to the beach in 15 minutes for 150 Jamaican dollars (1USD)
Pros: It was a wonderful and memorable experience.. It is a beautiful and spacious home it was relaxing and quiet. The house was well kept, the bed was comfortable had access to everything. Mr Pendley was a wonderful host such a vibrant individual, i would recommend the orchids to everyone.
Located in Boscobel, Moxons Beach Club is within a 15-minute drive of Turtle Beach and James Bond Beach. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a safe deposit box at the front desk, and microwave in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The staff was very friendly
Cons: They didn’t have curry goat even though it was on the menu. I think they should have more local items on the menu. Remove the surf and turf and tenderloin; Tourist can get that anywhere. Focus more on local cuisines.
Pros: Great staff, very quite and secluded beach. Very low key area hotel. Excellent sea views from the property.
Cons: A little quiet. But this doesn't make it bad. It's a relatively small private property. If you want tranquility this is a good place. Don't expect the all-inclusive resort commercial resort experience.
Cons: Noise The bar is too expensive
Pros: The beach
Cons: The tv
Pros: Our room had everything you'd need. The AC in the room worked very good, and the shower had the most pressure and hottest water we had experienced in Jamaica. If you enjoy the art decor design of South Beach Miami? You'll like Moxon. If you're looking for a modern day resort. This is not the place for you. If you enjoy a big panoramic view of the Caribbean, relaxing, laid back environment, and friendly staff. You will absolutely LOVE Moxon Beach Resort.
Cons: The only thing that could have made our stay better would have been if breakfast was included with the price. Other than that everything was fantastic!
Pros: Lovely hotel with great views of the sea
Cons: No complimentary water was given and the break fast offered was expensive. The Bar was selling a bottle of I Cool water for $235. Ridiculous
Pros: Absolutely Nothing
Cons: The property was poorly kept run down. Service poor. The entire time being there no one clean our room or offer any fresh towels or toilet paper. Very very poor service. The fact that we paid so much money per night. Even a motel 8 is better than it

Cons: They charged me USD 234:- more than the agreed price I got from Booking. I have tried to get it back with no reply whatsoever.
Pros: This place really showcases Jamaica. Surrounded by the beautiful mountains and overlooking the sea. The grounds are immaculate with fruit trees and the mangoes are sweet. The Estate House is like something from the past with modern amenities, but there is no air conditioning only fans. The main area has rooms, dining and sitting areas and the moment you arrive you feel relaxed. Our rooms were in another area of the estate, close by, with a sitting area as well. Beautiful pool area with seating and hammock. A hot Jamaican Breakfast is included and was delicious.
Cons: The drive from the first entry point is horrible as the road is not paved. Took us over 20 minutes to get to the estate house. This is a part of the property and the road with the miniature sized rocks needs to be leveled so damage to the under carriage of you car is prevented. We were in a regular car. The host was gracious and had the driver at the estate transport our suitcases to the entrance so it was less weight in our car going down the dirt road, when we were leaving. Awesome staff. But, do not let this prevent you from booking. Once you get there, that little negative disappears.
Pros: All of staffs are very nice, helpful. There is a wonderful history in Green Castle area.
Pros: First of all, Richard, the owner of this beautiful Estate, is a very hospitable and pleasant man. He really cares about his guests having a great time as his place. Very important! His staff is hard working and pleasant and will do their utmost to providing good service. Well, for a bird and nature lover like me, this is a must visit when you go to Jamaica. Walking the trails is a joy and will give you great birding opportunities. Don't forget to read the booklet in the house providing information on the history of Green Castle Estate; it is very interesting!
Cons: Really nothing!
Pros: Great location for hiking and birdwatching with beautiful views and comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfasts (included) and dinners (available for extra charge).
Cons: This is not a full-service resort, more like a very nice guest house.
