Good swimming pools awful service, expensive extras, not English speaking stuff, small old fashion rooms, problems with hot water, poor breakfast, far from Porto Cervo
Peace, clean, good atmosphere, eatuiful place The distances to different places were complitely different from those mentioned in the hotel description in the internet.
The location is very good with stunning scenary and views from the hotel. It is close enough to Porta Cervo but not in the center so you feel you are not getting completely ripped off. It was described as luxurious but the service was poor and didn't give it a feeling of luxury, I felt like I was imposing on them when asking questions. It is not a 5 star hotel in my view.
The swimming pools The restaurant's staff was very rude, the answer me very bad in particular the METRE.They must work to much to worth the 5 stars they have,at least a 3 star service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great location near Porto Cervo (by car). WiFi free access. Room are cleaned and confortable. Gardens. Food (Breakfast; lunch; diner) bad and expensive. Restaurant staff. Beach and some rust around swimming pools (sea water).
First of all I liked very much during our stay at Colonna Resort was friendly atmosphere created by the personnel of the hotel. The second thing I liked was splendid swimming pools, hotel's beach. And also sardinian style of the building it's interior, exclusiveness of the location and stunning see view. Definitely, it is one of the best hotels in the world!
Great Location, Charming Atmosphere, Great Views, Luxurious Marina Atmosphere.. Grossly overcharged for location because the service, the condition of the facilities, food and drinks variety offerings are not upto level with comparable luxury hotels around the mediterrenean....
The location, view service just every thing piece of heaven
The location in Porto Cervo excelent. Very near of luxury shops and restorants and of Porto cervo marinas (minutes walking) very nice swiming pool. Parking available. Very nice staff. Room are very very small. Almost no space even for luggage. Very poor amenities
The veiw of the marina
Excellent level of Service, Location, Friendliness of the staff shower - extremely small
It was very clean and comfortable staff spoke good English and were very helpful and friendly. Beautiful surroundings, wonderful views. The choice and standard of the food in respect of the cost was not good. Poorly prepared, ie overcooked stale looking vegetables.
The staff by the pool. One of the questions i asked when serching for a hotel was the possibility to play golf. It was possible but had nothing to do with the hotel. the hotel did not have any connections to the golfclub even thoug it was indicated in the material related to the hotel selection. I would not have booked the hotel if I knew this.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was attractive and clean. Bottled water was 4 Euro!
Great location. Beautiful view of the Marina. Romantic and stylish (classic example of Porto Cervo architecture). Food is great, service impeccable. Dinner is served on one of the nicest terraces in whole town. Excellent value for money, especially having in mind exclusivity of the location! The hotel was built in 1966, so don't expect anything cyber and design-hotel like. Furniture is a bit dated, but in good condition and perfectly in line with the hotel's style and atmosphere. If you like variety of dishes for breakfast, keep in mind you're staying in Italy and 4 or 5 products for salties and sweets is considered more than enough (cooked ham, salumi, cheese, croissants, jam, butter, Nuttella...), but everything is of a premium quality. Excellent selection of home made breads!
Proximity to cebtre oif Porto Cervo. Comfortable lounge and bar. Helpful staff. Room not up to four star standard very basic and smal
Location, views, staff and dinner. The older manager guy is a bit aloof and obnoxious.
The staff were really wonderful, I love the view, the food was great and my room was clean and comfortable. Great location too. I would have liked tea/coffee making facitlies in my room.
The location is good. The pool area is splendid and the people in the restaurant area have a good knowledge of english and are service minded. Our room was very nice with a small balcony. Half of the personnel in the reception do not know english and this might also be the reason why I did not perceive them as service minded. What needs to be improved is information about services available, like the shuttle bus, some flexibility and overall information about how to get to town center, the marina etc, restaurants close by, that you need to reserve a table in the hotel restautrant etc. It is expensive but so is everything in Porto Cervo.
very pleasant staff, pool area very clean, though quite small sun bathing area when more than 10 people around charge for use of internet connection in the lobby, noise from surrounding rooms on the tiled floors, quite expensive bar prices, breakfast was quite limited so not tempted to try evening meal
It's closemess to the marina We had the misfortune to eat in the hotel on the first night. The hotel room smelled.
I was given a nicer room when I asked for one. I would have liked to be offered the half board option at check in, I only heard about it from other guests later.
The fantastic view over the harbour of Porto Cervo. The beautiful exotic garden with the nice pool.
A beautiful location with great views.Friendly relaxed helpful staff. It was out of season when we were there so there were few guests and it was very quiet. The entrance to the car park has an old and badly painted sign - not a good first impression! However once in the hotel it was great.
Excellent hotel room, friendly staff and great location
Fabulous hotel ! Beautiful room and bathroom. Staff very attentive. We would certainly stay there again We liked everything but only disappointment hotel restaurant was closed and although we had breakfast provided, use of pool and gardens, we had not realised that it was the end of the season.
nice resort like environment; very poor value for the money; not to say that the rooms were not clean and the staff helpful, but I have paid a lot less and have gotten a lot more
The hotel was lovely. The amenities were excellent. The pool area was charming with nice loungers. The pool was however frezing. The breakfast was good with a good selection of fruit and the usual continal rolls, cereal, assorted meat and cheese. The staff in the hotel were helpful, polite and friendly. The hotel bar was good with a lovely view over the harbour. There is no resturant in the hotel so it means going out to the local resturants in the evening. There is a nice one across the road, but the best are up a steep hill about 5 - 10 minutes away. It was the end of the season and so some local facilities had already closed.
Sleeping on a foam mattress in a 4 star facility is not acceptable. The noise level is extremely high
good service, nice well english speaking staff, nice view on porto cervo, very quiet, big comfortable room, very good restaurant Spinaker in walking distance
nice design no
The view The swimming pool and area There is no restaurant which can make things a little difficult
Personnel really friendly It is a 3 star hotel - do not need the pool
Clean, nice, good personnel, friendly, good location None
The staff was very accomodating, they provided exceptional service and were very friendly. The rooms were new and clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
The staff was very friendly, room very nice and clean plus we got lucky to get a room right next to the pool. The water in the pool could have been warmer, but we have seen this as a very minor issue.
The staff, always very attentive, helped much on booking tours for the beaches. The breakfast is wonderful, good food, fruits, juices, pleasant ambience next to the swimming pool. Free internet access very good. Good parking outside. The lighting is poor in the bedroom. Lights could have more kW to be brighter. The location is not Porto Cervo, but actually Baja Sardinia. If you have a car OK, if not, will be a little complicated to reach the best places, to have dinner for instance.
It's not a four star, but it's a igood small hotel. For what you pay it's quite reasonable. The staff was good, except for one particular member that was sometimes rude and inconvenient. Breakfast is poor.
Good sized rooms with very comfortable surroundings. Friendly staff always available to help you. Some really good restaurants in area excellent Brazilian evening only a short walk away. A good walk to town center down a steep hill not really a option for a evening out.Air conditioning could have been more efficient.
Nice setting, very friendly staff and managers Rooms are a bit small, no space for a table where you can work a bit
Kind, helpful staff, offered assistance but were "not in your face". n/a
Very nice, clean, good staff, free internet small swiming pool
concierge had good restaurant recommendations. beach was relaxing. you could take a 10Euro taxi to clubs billionaire and the other big one. A taxi to town in 20 Euro. spa had the absolute worst massage of my entire life. avoid it at all costs. If you go to the carribean you get spoiled with the drinks/food on the beach-not here.
Everything was great. The hotel was well situated and close to a number of small towns, places to eat, beaches and beautiful coastline. The staff were excellent and more than helpful. The hotel has beautiful grounds and around the swimming pool is peaceful and tranquil. no..
Nice decor in the rooms and pool area had great views. Easy to find and close to the clubs in Porto Cervo. a long walk to the hotel beach which was quite small and the water seemed less nice than at the beaches
i Iiked the good corresponding of quality and price, because Porto cervo area is very expensive, and this is the only one hotel in this price range that has it's access to the beach where it is possible to swim and so close to Porto cervo. at my next trip to Porto cervo I will stay in hotel le Ginestre again.
Good location, good view from the room, nice surroundings and close to Porto Cervo. Rooms a bit small and furnished like a 3 star hotel. Quality of the breakfast a bit poor. Hotel need to renew a bit outside and inside infrastructure.
Staff was pleasant and professional, prompt service from reception to waitresses; a quite relaxing experience, food was excellent, hotel very clean, room was cared for several times during the day Hotel might consider providing transport from/to Olbia, and to/from Porto Cervo, obvioulsy against reasonable payment, which undoubtedly would be cheaper compared to the unbelievably expensive taxi fares - from/to Olbia airport 80EUR one way; from Hotel to Porto Cervo 20EUR one way (my most expensive only 1 km transport ever); or advice in its website that hiring a car would a better option which would aslo allow to visit around the worth seeing Palau, Baia Sardignia, Porto Rotondo etc
location staff quiet cleanliness etc No
nice view, and nice meals Temperature of the pool, it was colder then the sea
Simple booking system made very good value for money booking on the web. The price we paid was a lot less than the rack rate. Nice hotel, nautical atmosphere.
I chose this hotel because its location, close to Porto Cervo and to some of the most beautiful beaches. I liked its position, in the middle of lush green pines and bushes, with a nice, although small private beach. The breakfast was fair, but not with the choice expected for an hotel of such category, served in a restaurant with very small tables, almost children size. The bar food was cheap in quality, but with expensive prices. Same unjustified high prices we found for the fridge bar, even for items as essential as water. In my booking I had specified that we were a couple in a romantic trip, but to our surprise we found the room with twin beds, with a balcony hidden in a corner, without any view at all. To our request to change the room, the concierge told us that he had no rooms available and the rooms they place on booking.com were the worst ones, those that normally they are unable to sell otherwise. We had booked the pre-paid non-refundable offer, so be careful when you make your choice! Consider indispensable a car to move around.
The beach bar and good service staff, decent size pool for swimming, good outdoor ambience 1. Poor service by reception staff, who were not very helpful. We lost our bags and the reception provided very little support eg. they could not supply basic toiletries like a toothbrush and expected us to go out to get it. Hotel rigid with regards to meals, ie only 1 expensive set menu each night. Should offer a la carte. 3. Hosted noisy event up till 11pm
The differnet Views from anywhere in te Hotel The Lunges were wonderfull & "Spiffy". Receptiosn did not knwo the guests. Also, I did not like th fact I was asked to pay for all my stay at check in- Indicating a No Trust in the guests!
The garden and the pool area are very nice, good access to the beach, excellent view on the bay. The toilet was smelling very bad, poor breakfast and waiters service in the Orange restaurant. Furiously overpriced, food and drinks at the pool, very poor menu at the pool area. The staff has difficulties with English.
The hotel is funky but cool. I would recomend going during the high season, august, because otherwise the hotel lacks atmosphere. It was quiet in May but pleasant. The hotel restaurant is good, but expensive. The hotel staff were all very friendly, but did not speak english very well. Location is great, but a car is needed to see the real Sardinia. Some lights were out in our room when we arrived, but they were fixed promptly.
the position was good and the beach was near. The reception were helpful. I thought for a four star there should have been tea/coffee facilities or an iron. The iron wasn't available to use
The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The rooms needed a bit of updating and the bath needed fixing
The staff were very friendly, the room was great and the pool was very clean and large. Great location, we found some nice restaurants within 15 mins walking distance - the Clipper which has pizzas for 10 Euros or alternatively fish etc for around 20 Euros (reservations needed) and its neighbouring sandwich bar which is good for a beer and music. Also the Haiva (or something) pizzeria which is even closer. The Orange restaurant within the hotel is a must - its very reasonably priced, we paid 170 Euros for 3 courses plus wine. Also book the boat trip with the hotel. We went out on Valentina II with Enrico and it was a brilliant day. There is also Nikki beach bar which is a bit souless but good music. Better off going to the 4 poster opium beds in the grounds of the hotel. It is touted as a business hotel however there was no Wi-Fi. We paid 5 Euros for 15 mins of the hotel internet and it was so slow that we only managed to get onto one website. We complained but they were not interested. Also this is a 4 star hotel and although the sunbeds on the beach are free to hotel guests we had to pay 10 Euros for an umbrella. It is disappointing that they could not also give us an umbrella. There was a definite feeling that they would make money out of you if they possibly could.
The towels were changed twice a day and the bedding was changed daily. The room was always very tidy and clean. The superior rooms had a great view of the sea. Nothing
The surroundings are nice service, prices, hidden extras everywhere, i.e. 6 euro to change your towel for a clean one, 5 euro for an ice cream at the bar, 5 euro for a coke at the bar
the view, the beach the rooms and the food, could be a lot better
hotel staff friendly and efficient gym facilities very poor
Nice enough little place, and great setting. Reception staff not overly helpful at times.
Breakfast was a poor for the price no basic items like toast or bacon tomatoes ect
Very nice location, plenty of room and numerous facilities for use in hotel plus a short walk to multiple restaurants and bars
On arriving at the hotel, we were stunned by how beautiful it is! The rooms were typically sardinian and really beautful, and the pool and private beach couldn't have been better. The food - wasn't much choice at breakfast and although more choice at dinner it was quite bland and tasteless. Would highly recommend eating out in nearby Porto Quato or Porto Cervo.
the view and the position too expensive, even if it's Costa Smeralda
The way the hotel has been designed to take advantage of its great location (e.g patio bar looking out over the sea etc) The running machine in the gym needs to be replaced with a more robust machine.
Location is excellent, nice private beach. Sea facing rooms have fabulous view Front desk staff need to be more friendly and less aloof. Smaller pools needed cleaning to remove algae.
Great location for the best beaches and lovely views from the hotel. Friendly reception staff. The waiter at breakfast accused my wife of stealing 3 nectarines to take to the beach. They were actually for her and our 2 children to eat at the table. She was not impressed.
Fantastic sea view, close to a stunning beach. The hotel is clean and good value for money. Unfortunately the hotel bar is basically not used at all. So, it is hard to get in touch with other hotel guests over a glass of beer/wine in the evenings.
If anyone visits this hotel they must have the sea view. We have travelled far and wide and the views from this hotel are very special. You definitely need a car. Only one small point - it would have been nice if the hotel did evening meal on site.
Very friendly and helpful staff Having to get cabs everywhere due to location.
excellant clean rooms, rather new, excellant location.close to porto cervo and lots of great beaches. no
Very helpful staff, price reasonable given standards in the area, excellent breakfast at the terrace Rooms need refurbishment
Very good location, near the nice beach of Spagia Luciano Roje and 10 min from Porte Cervo, staff was very nice, hotel relaxing and very clean, confortamble room for two adults and one child, No, everything was OK
The view from the breakfast terrace, location is handy also You do need a car to go anywhere in this area. The A/C was a bit so-so as well.
staff was friendly, hotel was pleasant The bed mattresses are extremely hard, making a good night's sleep hard to come by.
simple, clean, easy to find, well - located for the whole area, satisfactory for all needs.
Nice setting, good quiet location. Nice, clean rooms. Good bed. Improve breakfast: very poor! Chairs didn't need to be removed, yet (mid september). Put hotel signs on the road, we had to look around for 30 min to find it.
The architecture of the hotel and the beautiful bay view from the rooms. The large seawater pool and the animation around the bar area. The entire staff is very friendly. The stone beach in front of the hotel. However, there is the large Marinella sandy beach a 12 min walk away (on a stone path). The breakfast is kind of light, as often in Italy
Relaxed and casual atmosphere although we did visit towards the end of the season... A little remote and you need to hire a car to fully appreciate and enjoy the area
the place and the view was amazing the staff was bit rude and need to improve the breakfast too basic for a 4 stars hotel
Great breakfast by the pool, really nice and romantic, very pleasant scenario. Few rooms, few people. The room had a gorgeous view. Although the hotel is closer from the village, it is more convenient to have a car if you want to explore the surrondings or go out for dinner.
The Hotel was very good rated, but I had some doubts from the pictures. However, it is a versy nice hotel, which is build on the hill in a kind of bungalow style, but all bungalow's are connected. So you feel like having a own appartment/house, but are in a complex. nice. very nice view, ok breakfast, big rooms, big balcony, friendly personal. Good! The good beaches are a bit away, but there are some, so don't worry.
The food was very good with a variety of different menu's throughout the week and good local wines. Breakfast was also good. The waiting/bar staff were exceptionally helpful and accomodating. The hotel has nice views and is nicely decorated with a huge selection of information on places to visits in the library. You will definately need to hire a car to stay here as it really is quite isolated and roads are too dangerous to walk on. There are far too many steps - to get from the hotel to our room, we had to walk up 40 steps in total. We are young and fit but that would be difficult for anyone outside of this category. Just a silly thing, the maids tend to turn up at different times each day which is an inconvenience when you are trying to relax, they don't stop talking!!!!
The hotel's structure and restaurant. It was a little difficult to find by car. The parking was a little far and there was no porter to carry the luggage at night. The parking was not cheap (around 20 EUR per night).
The friendly staff is exceptional. Good location and good price. Everything was perfect
staff, restaurant there is no beach in 100 meters as it was in the description.
The private boat was the only thing that makes this hotel comparable to other beautiful hotels on the island. The service was distant, cold, anything but welcoming, staff are not client savy. Never ever go to this hotel with kids, they are not welcome by staff or guests. By the way, the north of the island is overrated. They dont have a beach!!! The ones that are close are terrible and full of tar.
Excellent location, very friendly and attentive staff. Great food, great pool. The room was large and clean with a private terrace overlooking the sea.
Relaxing no hassle do as you like hotel with a view to die for Could benefit from a greter variety of food
The athmosphere, the staff, the location
Outstanding position on the Emerald Coast. Outstanding staff for courtesy and availability. Excellent restaurant, very romantic and with high quality food Unfair quality/cost for a snack (sandwich 20€ + small beer 10€)
Beautiful rooms and very polite staff. Breakfast provided a wide choice of food. The restaurant was extremely expensive. The "private beach" was really just a small patch of land that had been covered in sand - very artificial and not really a place to spend much time sunbathing.
