The breakfast was fantastic. The hotel was very nice and staff very friendly. They initially gave us a room with two twin beds and we went back to reception and they immediately changes us to a new room with a big double bed and an extra twin.
the staff was nice and was prepared at any question (ie public transportation, museum hours, etc.). room is a bit old
Hotel was excellent value for money and will be recommended.
Clean quiet and comfortable with good service and central location within walking distance of the river/seafront with amazing views. Excellent breakfast menu. Restaurant in adjacent building.
The hotel was good, it reflected its 4 star status. Reception, restaurant and bar staff first class.
Everything, next to all emenities and close to airport.
Nice room, friendly staff, delicious breakfast...
breakfast included all the lights didn't work in the bathroom
The room was very big!!! good breakfast. The furniture is pretty old fashioned...and there isn't any wi fi at the rooms, only in the lobby.
Free WiFi and a wonderful bartender tending the bar on Friday the 8th around Midnight. The beds were terrible. Hard. In general the room looked 'empty' with even an echo to get one far away from felling anything like in a comfortable room to sleep and relax in.
The helpful staff on reception.
Very clean, confortable, wonderful breakfast Nothing
Nice well located hotel with helpful and friendly staff
Very comfortable family two-rooms suite, well sound-isolated, good breakfast with a rich assortiment, the hotel is easy to find from the highway A29 to Porto.
Everething was nice and fine No
It is clean, the staff is friendly. There is now gym. The food is terrible.
Staff friendliness and relaxed attitude No
The friendliness and profetional manner in wich we were attended. And the effort ALL staff made to speak to us in English.
The staff were nice and maybe even too zealous (our towels were changed every day even though we followed the instructions available to signal that we didn't need that). The location was excellent and even after missing the last metro/bus we got back ok after a nice stroll through an extremely chilled-out Porto. It would have been great if some of the lovely Portuguese pastries had made their way into the breakfast menu ... :) However, all the other extremely good things about the hotel (including the good bus connections into town, handy restaurants across the street and supermarket around the back) outweigh anything else.
The hotel's facilities are fantastic and the staff couldn't be anymore helpful. There was nothing I didn't like about the hotel
all staff very friendly and helpful. we have stayed at this hotel many all staff very friendly and helpful. we have stayed at this hotel many times before n/a
Excellent friendly staff, superb comfortable and spacious modern rooms, very clean rooms and very well equipped, very good location, excellent restaurants, especially Grappa Italian Restaurant, very well priced with great value for money.
Very nice lounge bar at the top of the building.
The room service (including the telephone assistant) was excellent. The hotel can improve with isolation, in order to keep a cooler temperature in bedrooms.
All was excellent! All was pleasant!
The Concierge attendance
Great design and services
Staff was excellent, Grappa food was exellent no
The staff was very friendly and happy to serve you. Big spacious room, clean. The breakfast venue was a bit old and the breakfast itself needs to be improved in quality.
Easy check-in and parking was a big plus; next to a large shopping center; staff helped us to find the hotel. 15 min by foot to the metro; breakfast was OK [could have been better]
location close to family and shopping. a bit noisy
location of hotel Breakfast is rather simple (not a big trouble). Do not expect terrace with wonderful sight (it is fair mainly in summer)
everything was ok. I had already stayed at this hotel before and liked it, so I chose it again
Nice rooms and lovely breakfast. Reception staff, very lousy not interested at all. I had to talk to 3 or 4 of them and they were all plain and tasteless service wise.
The hotel staff are very helpfull and the room was beyond my expectation
the fact that was in a safe and elegance area. The breakfast was so poor, that can't imagine
The parking spaces are very small and they aren't that many. The room had the toilet flusher broken, and they put me just right to the stairs. At night you can hear people walking in the stairs, so be sure not to get a room next to the stairs/elevator. After that they changed me from room and everything was ok. I didn't like the parking spaces and the time they took to tell me that the flusher was broken and that i needed to change room - took me to complaint 3 times for them to say that that i needed to change room.
The center proximity. No.
Mainly the value for quality
Nice and stylish hotel with direct access to a market with delicious food. Supermarket and other commodities nearby. Interior felt high quality and upmarket. Roomdesign with emphasize on the music theme. All in all a pleasant and modern hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking possible at the hotel or in a carpark nearby. Hotel is a long and steep walk away from the hotspots of the city. Flooding the bathroom really cant be avoided while having a shower. Despite asking for a parking space in the hotels garage before arrival only a space in the carpark nearby was available.
Convenient location to get to city centre. Nearby minimarket Breakfast menu was the same the whole week.
Uncomfortable conditions of using a computer in the Hotel. Arrangement of the computer is not convenient for work due to closeness to the bar
Rooms are large. Bus stop in front of hotel door. Near a very big cultural centre ("house of music"). Staff was very polite. Decoration is a bit poor. Wireless expensive. Few services for a 4star hotel.
it was wonderful-small fridge was great to have. appreciated internet access. Maids changed beds and towels even though we tried to leave a message. Maybe a card would help that you prepare-we leave it on the bed if don't want sheets changed
Location, confort, breakfast wireless internet too expensive
cleanliess, good location breakfast was not satisfactory
Got what we paid for wirh no hassle. No restaurant or bar atmosphere and little obviously attractive locally - tho we did find places to eat and drink by the time we left.
I liked the bedroom, very comfortable. the house stuff also I think the internet should be available for free.
Spacious high quality accommodation Too far to walk to city attractions
Nice hotel, great rooms, quite, right in the middle of the city, with great restaurants nearby. The AC, how can we make it work? A bit chilly the room.
The hotel would be a good choice for a business traveler on a budget. It is within a few blocks of the Metro. It was clean throughout the hotel, WIFI is available, and rates were lower than we had seen in other Portugal hotels. The breakfast was included and consisted of breads, melon, coffee, corn flakes, yogurts and juice. Everyone was friendly and tried to be helpful. They gave us good directions for Metro use and an Andante Card to get us started. It is not located near any tourist areas except Casa da Musica.Since they were close to the metro, this was not a huge problem, but you had to factor in time and expense for getting to other locations. They do not do money exchange, nor did they have postage or English newspapers. The night desk clerk had the best fluency in English. That only became a problem after we had some unique situations to deal with and needed to use the phone. We were unable to get any kind of itemization on our bill. A figure of 73 Euros for telephone was the only line item. We had made several collect calls and had no way of knowing how they were billed. The desk clerks were unable to help us make them initially and did not understand when we we checked out
We stayed at the hotel Douro on our way back to uk. Very comfortable found a great restaurant just around the corner called Rotunda Boavista a must for meat eaters and great prices. Car parking is about 100 mts around the corner. Staff at hotel very friendly. We had our dog with us and it was'nt a problem.
i like it very much!
It was well located to allow easy and quick access to the old section of Porto. Felt the charge for in-room Internet use was excessive.
Well run hotel Only fair breakfast buffet
OK but nothing special. It delivers what it promises with no surprises nor dissappointments. At 55Euros ok, would not pay much more.
Good, clean hotel. Good value for money. Metro station not too far away. Beds were ok, but a little hard.
Convenient 5 min walk from casa musica metro station Staff not particularly friendly mostly greeted with stares when entering leaving hotel.
location rooms need renovation, street noise
I first stayed here some 8 years ago after a gap of around 4 years some of the staff have changed but the attitude has not. It feels as if your stay is important to them, not because you are a guest, but because that's the way they are. Excellent.
Helpful staff (also allowed us to leave our bags at hotel after we checked out and pick them up later in the day), 10 minute walk from the metro station 'Casa da Musica', 25 minute walk from town centre, comfy beds, shop just beside hotel containing all the essentials plus lovely cakes and pastries, breakfast ok (coissant, ham, cheese, bread rolls, corn flakes, yoghurt and fruit)
The room was clean, with every commodity in order. The breakfast had very little variety.
Location, room view, lounge area, breakfast room, comfy beds Location of the tv set (up in the room corner), broken light bulb, staff helpful but not very nice.
Staff fantastic, close to wonderful bars and restaurants, room simple but clean no problem with a/c, free wifi or tv, nice balcony. Would stay there again. Breakfast ok, but very simple same croissants every day, not exactly modern decor.
The location Building works next door
The hotel was well located for a tourist, along bus lines, near Casa da Musica, near the metro stop, shopping center and restaurants. The staff was outstanding.
Convenient location for my travel plans. Noise of traffic from the street. Had to keep windows shut.
