Staff friendliness and relaxed attitude No
It is clean, the staff is friendly. There is now gym. The food is terrible.
Nice well located hotel with helpful and friendly staff
Everething was nice and fine No
The staff were nice and maybe even too zealous (our towels were changed every day even though we followed the instructions available to signal that we didn't need that). The location was excellent and even after missing the last metro/bus we got back ok after a nice stroll through an extremely chilled-out Porto. It would have been great if some of the lovely Portuguese pastries had made their way into the breakfast menu ... :) However, all the other extremely good things about the hotel (including the good bus connections into town, handy restaurants across the street and supermarket around the back) outweigh anything else.
Very clean, confortable, wonderful breakfast Nothing
Very comfortable family two-rooms suite, well sound-isolated, good breakfast with a rich assortiment, the hotel is easy to find from the highway A29 to Porto.
The helpful staff on reception.
The friendliness and profetional manner in wich we were attended. And the effort ALL staff made to speak to us in English.
The hotel staff was beyond pleasant and willing to make our stay wonderful. Acknowledging that it was a special occasion (my husband's 60th birthday), they upgraded us to the largest room and then surprised us with a bottle of champagne and bowls of fruit. The king-size bed was extremely comfortable, with wonderful linens. The room was clean and large, bright and had a beautiful marble bathroom. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet tremendously. There was a computer available for free use by guests off the bar area, which was great. Lastly, the location was perfect - we could walk everywhere and yet were not in a noisy or busy area.
I can't say that it's 5 stars hotel. It's pretty old and not so luxury and interesting, as it writen on websites. Rooms are prety old.
We liked the hotel situation as well as the quiet room and very nice breakfast
Very friendly and helpful staff who were great with tips on best places to dine out, go out and what there is to do in Porto. It was great location i.e. close to galleries and an overall well presented hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean and had all the necessary facilities.
Situated in nice quiet part of the city, nice relaxed atmosphere in hotel, staff very helpful, efficent, and professional.
Nice and clean rooms Located in a small street and it is difficult to find first. However, this seems to be the only choice if you would like to stay at the historical center of the city since all the streets are the same.
The Hotel was, clean, modern and functional with professional and nice staff. The heat system didn't work properly and i got cold at night. There were no extra blankets at the room. The room (supposingly a junior suite) was nothing like a suite: the furniture disposition was terrible with the TV set at the right side of the bed on a regular room desk and just one huge sofa in front of the bed... Finally, the room service is not avaiable in a major part of the day.
The room was spacious and modern. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were helpful and seemed to know their job well. The bathroom was splendid.
located very close to the center of Porto (within walking distance for all sights) price of breakfast is (if you compare it to the room rate) to high
Comfortable and clean hotel with great breakfast and friendly staff. Perhaps a bit too far away from the centre
In the centre of town room very small and musty.
Good team, very polite, helpful and friendly. I will miss this place and would like to come again.
Friendly and clean, with a great restaurant.
friendly staff, willing to help always.
staff very friendly and helpful, good in-house restaurant with excellent regional food, localization very convenient very small rooms, cleaning much below standard, too much noise from the surroundings restaurants and bars, breakfast too basic (we missed our youghurt)
The hotel was wonderful. Just what we needed. As lovely as they are, if you choose a room at the front of the hotel, be aware that it might be quite noisy at night. That being said, the view from our balcony was perfect, so I didn't really mind.
Absolutely no English . Very difficult to communicate . Otherwise ok for the budget Need to speak or understand english
The staff were so helpful and pleasant most spoke good english and one young lady had excellent english. Rooms were cleaned and beds made every day. Front door locked by midnight but member of staff on duty to let you in if you arrived back after this time, who was always smiling, friendly and pleased to see you. Could get noisy in square in front of hotel at weekends, but once we closed the windows and shutters to our room everything was fine.
The staff is very friendly and helping in any situation. The rooms facing the little place are quite noisy during the nights. The windows are old fashioned and protect very poorly against the shouting outside.
Very good location in the center of Porto, not far from railway station San Bento Staff doesn't speak English, only Portugeese. For breakfast we had only coffee / tee and bread with butter - for me it was ok, but for male- person it coould be not enough
The hotel is in the ideal location to explore the old part of Porto. The staff were very friendly, polite and very helpful.
Nice staff, location is good - not in the noisy city center but just couple of minutes on foot from it. In December it was a bit too cold in the room but surely is make no problem in other seasons.
location and helpfulness of reception staff. Great view of Carlos Alberto Square and beyond, from room breakfast a bit basic with cornflakes, juice, tea/coffee/chocolate and rolls. Also no elevator but it is an old building.
Very convenient location, staff very helpful pillows very hard so did not sleep well
Price 3rd floor walkup, crowded bathroom
The location of the hotel was very good and it is was easy to access much of Porto. The Staff were helpful and cleaned the room and made the beds every day. The toilet door wasn't the best I had seen. It was possible to see through the glass which made it a bit awkward when using the loo.
Good attitude from staff, very good location (close to several metro stations and to the city center), nice cats walking around :), free wi-fi in the room and access to the web from the main room No "real" balcony for our rooms, small space in the toilet/bathroom
One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had! This was not a hotel. In fact it was worse then most hostels I've stayed at. Between the uncleanliness of the room, having to bear the continual sound of neighbors having sex and drunkenness in the corridors and hallways throughout the night, bed that is stiff as a board, not to mention continual stench of sewage in the germ ridden bathroom, I warn anyone against staying here. The noise is unbearable and for only a couple euros more we found a 4 star hotel in Porto. Terrible treatment of guests as well.
The location is pretty good, few steps from city center. No issues with luggage and bikes storage. Bathroom was really small and with "window" walls what was quite not comfortable when other person was in.
I've stayed here before and find it excellent value.
Friendly staff. Arranged for a taxi to the airport when I asked. Think the staff struggle with English, however no problems with checking in and out.
I enjoyed the staff, who were very friendly. Located in a nice place near the night life! Nice room with the garden view. Quiet place.
The place was very clean and the staff went out of their way to accomodate us.
Not expensive Half the crew don't speak english, the bathroom smelt horribly.
The room was beautifully designed in a very modern way. Breakfast was served in the garden which was very pleasant. It was pleasure being there.
I enjoyed the location and comfort of the room. Interior is very clean cut and simple. Shower didn't drain very well.
very helpful and friendly staff. The hotel has pleasant interior. It is nice to have breakfast outdoors in a small courtyard.
Very nice decorated rooms with a lot of space. Good and welcoming common area's. Friendly staff and owner. Parking is available closeby- no elevator
Friendly staff, nice rooms, very clean, lovely breakfast
