There wa few issues with our room, such as electrical problem & friendliness of the hotel staff at the beginning, however, by day two everything just worked out fine and we had a good time.
Nice and spacious room, bathroom, nice buffet, the pool is nice and clean with its bar restaurant, large resort, good destination for relaxing. A nice hotel for familly and kids. Almost only italian channels, no international channels (one euronews, one german and one spanish). In the minibar, ONLY bottles of water...4 stars hotel. Almost 10 to 15 minutes from the center of Olbia, 20 euros each way. The spa and the fitness aeara do not belong to the hotel, it's private, so the access to the gym is not for free and it's not open everyday!!! Be careful. Almost 30 minutes to reach Porto Cervo, 100 Euros by taxi each way.
rooms were clean, staff was friendly, breakfast was good and facilities were good very very difficult to find when driving and its so big that its like a mze
Everything is wonderfull! Room, breakfast, viewside...
The selection and service at Hotel Don Diego is superb. Great if you are looking for a relaxing holiday with everything you need on site. Other travellers may find they need a car to explore as the hotel is remote and there are no other 'local' facilities. That said we found it ideal!
Good food. Lovely setting The rooms were very small. The noise from adjoing units (above and below) was not dampened in any way.
My family really enjoyed the Don Diego. We were especially happy about food. And if you are travelling to Sardegna with kids this hotel would be a really good choice. It has a calm relaxation atmosphere. Hotel people are very friendly and always helpful. :-)
Well situated about 20 minutes drive from Olbia airport. Good beach with bar/restaurant a shortish walk away. People have commented on the traffic noise from the road, but it didn't trouble us and we live in a very quiet rural spot. The food was good - we ate in the hotel most evenings. The lone waiter in the restaurant was very busy, but friendly and helpful. More clothes storage in the room would have been good. We couldn't work the satellite tv (although we didn't really want to watch much). More staff are needed in the restaurant - some of the delays in service were too long.
A friendly, family feeling.excellent hotel ,H/B food very very good and as Sardinia is not a cheap place to stay or eat out in,the H/B is a very good option
Attentive staff; courteous at all times; clean and well looked after; excellent food; good standards and value for money Would help to have soap dish / shampoo holder in shower
The hotel and the swimming pool are fine but you need a car to explore the beaches around. Breakfast is poor.
Clean and spacious rooms; sufficient breakfast (eggs\omlette available), quite close to beaches of San Teodoro (one of them - Porto Taverna - is 10 minutes walk from the hotel). The hotel itself is a very quiet and relaxing place. Good value for money The hotel is situated outside of any village; so going\eating out is impossible without a car. However, if you've got one, San Teodoro with its shops and restaurants is 10 min drive
Only stayed for one night. Did not find the hotell at once, but not so far away so they picked us up and guided us to a very welcoming lady with good recommondations regarding resturants. Very nice rooms, spacious and very clean. Great breakfast, best on the trip:) No:)
Our room was very spacious. Though the main road is nearby the room is very good isolated, you don't hear anything. There are windows on both sides so if you want your window open at night, you open the one on the backside of the hotel. The shower has a curtain instead of doors wich seemed a bit cheap at first but it soon appeared that it was the first shower in a (very) long time that didn't wet the entire bathroom.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The position close to the beach meant swimming easy.
Very friendly and accomodating. Resturant & pool were closed.
small friendly hotel with very courteous staff, good food and rural location No
We liked our stay at Castello di Tavolara as it was located a stone's throw from the beach, peaceful ambience and great cafe at the bottom of the hotel. The staff were personable and accommodating and very hospitable. We loved the breakfast staff and knew our drink order after a day. A good selection of breakfast options and fresh pastries, cakes, yogurts, and fruits. A few km south of Olbia, away from the crazy hustle of the city but close enough to jump on the highway to pop over to any of the other beautiful port cities spread along the coast of Sardinia. Grazie!! nothing - wished we could have stayed longer.
Warm reception, very friendly family oriented facility, delicious European breakfast. Very clean hotel with beautiful tile work. We loved the area and location for exploring the east side of the island and we would definitely stay here again.
The hotel was beautiful and the service and friendliness of staff was second to none. No.
Great location, friendly and friendly staff, own parking, everything was without any unpleasant surprises. Internet: a solution for Internet service to customers is expensive and poor- low speed and high cost. No any vegetables for breakfast.
clean and comfortable
The hotel is brand new, very confortable and perfectly clean and the location is just a walking distance from the sea and excellent restaurant. Nothing every thing was fantastic.
Very nice, stylish and modern rooms, great view. Enjoy! as always in Italy: poor breakfast
small friendly hotel with very helpful staff. Exceptionally clean, good breakfast. Close to local beach.
The staff was very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay a lot!
This is a very nice hotel , situated in a very Quite area.Staff were very helpfull in advising which resturants and beaches to go to.Staff even helped us to book another hotel up nort Sardinia. The water was not hot enough for my wife, but on request they did turn up the temperature.Sound of toilert flushes from neighbouring rooms.
Great restaurant !!, easy access to the airport, friendly staff only relevant as airport hotel
Very modern, walking distance from airport, Sky TV, good breakfast
great hotel. We felt at home when we walked in the door and the staff were all excellent from front desk to maid to restaurant staff. Also, lovely view. Great location too for anyone flying out
Wish to stay longer not just 1 night. Great room, food, wine, pool, staff, design...very close to airport. There should be another anotherone somewhere just on the beach
The hotel was very modern in design and facilities. Very comfortable
The best hotel out of the 100 or so I have stayed in the past 2 years. Restaurant has amazing chef: almost the only hotel restaurant I would completely recommend. Free fast internet in all rooms, clean, nice pool, fitness centre, sauna, superb staff (allowed an 8pm checkout for no extra charge, and lots of other help), stylish, and has only been built 3 months ago. So good, we are making a trip to go back to the Jazz Hotel.
The whole experience although only for one night was superb. We chose it because of proximity to the airport for an early morning flight but much appreciated the high standard of the restaurant, the comfort of the rooms and the smart pool and sun terrace. The staff were extremely helpful. And it represented excellent value for money No
Swimming pool, restaurant, room, service, staff, luxury, cleaness, friendlyness no
Cleaningness, size and comfort of the room and bathroom. Perfect location, very central. Nice view on the roof top.
The reception staff were all great. So friendly, so helpful and loads of great advice on making the most of Olbia. The room was gorgeous and clean and beautifully decorated. The upstairs roof terrace had an amazing panoramic view and the fact that the spa (though not used used) was available and so reasonable was an absolute bonus. The breakfast staff were truly rude - a shame as they were the last thing we came across before leaving and after such a great stay previously. This applied not so much to the waiting staff but those setting up the buffet and in the kitchen. We also witnessed a barely concealed outburst between two of them. Unecessary at 7 in the morning.
Great location and service!
The room we stayed have a great view of old town and port of Olbia. Location was perfect for hanging around.
Excellent staff, parking, terrace, all is clean and new, location - city center, I would visit this hotel again
This hotel was the best hotel i have ever stayed at, the hotel was beautiful the staff was exceptionally friendly and helpfull. Definently the best hotel in sardinia!
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, well maintained and had a flat screen tv with a wide range of channels available. The sun deck on the roof was also great for the morning. The breakfast was also good. Difficult to unload and reload car at check in and check out because of hotel location on a narrow street. The flat screen tv needed to be larger.
panoramic view, location, clean rooms, breakfast buffet
The hotel was lovely and comfortable and staff very friendly Great view from roof terrace No
The staff were warm and friendly. Breakfast was really nice but take your own teabag if you need that cuppa to start your day. Try the spa, it's absolutely worth every euro. Excellent restaurants within very short walking distance and the streetscene in the evening is really laid back with most shops / boutiques opening late. The hotel has a rooftop terrace, which is very comfortable, but be careful as the sun gets very hot up there. It's not a criticism by any means, but the rooftop terrace would benefit from a refreshing shower and a little more shade so you could enjoy the afternoon sun. Sadly, by next year this hotel will have become extremely popular and we won't be able to get a room at such relatively short notice again.
the swimming pool, gakuzzi, the matress and the pillows the personel
The hotel is really nice and very well kept. Front Desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The welcome cookie is a nice idea! The pool and jacuzzi are great and the seating around the pool is great for relaxing.
The Hotel had 50% good staff and 50% poor Staff were not always professional and helpful
The Hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, a good value for money, the cookies on the arrival, parking space. The breakfast recepcionist didn't speak anything but Italian, which i think is really bad when you work in a Hotel. We paid for a room with view, and the only possible view from the Hotel is the highway...
Very quiet location, excellent sized rooms with balcony, good breakfasts and extremely helpful staff Need to have a car to go to the city center and anywhere else as public transports are not plenty around the island
The pool was lovely, infinity pool with a gorgeous view out to the sea and over the bay.Very peaceful and Quiet. Restaurant had a large selection for dinner. Really fresh barbequed fish. Could have better service, lacked attention to detail. Helpful staff when you asked but found you always had to ask for information. We had to work out most stuff for ourself - restaurants times, towels, shuttle bus to beach. No shuttle into town like it says on website, we had to get taxis which worked out very expensive for a relatively short journey.
Lovely hotel , great pool
The view was great. The location meant that you had to have a car but it was well situated for touring the northern areas of Sardinia. The breakfast was good although it would have been nice to have some hot choices, The acyual pool was great. The hotel was isolated so you had to drive to a restaurant in the evening, The menu at the hotel was very limited and somewhat boring. The area around the pool needs some attention. There wre holes in the grille around it and the loungers were falling apart.
Staff very pleasant, and helpful, room was a good size, pleanty of towles and spare bedding Furniture in seating area uncomfortable, very difficult to get afternoon refreshments as there was rarly any staff serving in the bar and you had to knock the counter and half the time they didn't come,it appeared the hotel was closing down for the season ,so we were amazed they stay open all year, our room although adequate when we arrived had a very bad smell, also the toilet needed a good bleaching, and our room although on the 1st floor wasn't made up untill late in the afternoon, so any afternoon siesta was out of the question.we also found that there was not enough meat served in the restaurant, although various meats were on the menue it had to be shared by 2, 3,or 5 people, ummmmm bit stuck if there's only 2 of you.we felt the pool was in a unkempt state of repair with all the broken patio slabs.also as we are none smokers we found the level of cigarrette buts around the pool not pleasant at all.
Good location if you have car
Attitude of the staff, general ambiance, details, a general feeling of a very pleasant accomodation unavailability of adslconnection in the wonderful suite where we were staying
The hotel is very designed and creates an immediate sense of luxury. There is almost a 360° view and a wonderful infinity pool. It is very beautiful. Free internet access was always available. The approach to the hotel is so steep that it would have been impossible to push a wheelchair up (and probably even down) it. The shuttle service to the beach is therefore very necessary. The menu was very limited for vegans and even vegetarians. The dish which appealed most, failed to be available all the 3 days I stayed there.
Where do I begin.. The staff were fantastic. Always friendly and willing and able to help out. Breakfast was great -- plenty of food, great variety. It is Italy therefore you will get an Italian breakfast as opposed to an English or an American breakfast or a Caribbean resort type breakfast. The pool and the view are breathtaking. The shuttle to/from the airport and the beach were a very nice touch and helpful. It is a 5 minute drive to the beach and the driver was always punctual. My room was a nice size and spotless. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the service was fantastic. There is public transportation to the city centre and Porto Rotundo. Just ask the front desk and they will provide you with the bus schedule. Excellent!
Foxtel and the ability to watch something in the english language
The pool area and view is very nice and the cleaning staff was very sweet and did a superb job. The reception staff was less service minded and had trouble answering questions about sinmple things. The restaurant was living in the past with boring food and a uniformed staff which was kind and professional and couldn't be blamed for the quality of the food. Get a new contemporary menu and a ambitious head chef and this could be a magnificant restaurant.....
the location, helpful staff, wonderful food and clean designs and decor
very bad acustic isolation
Quiet. Nice pool. Too far from anything ... nice hotel as long as you have a car.
Convenience to airport and olbia area. Staff and consideration for disabled father. Please write at least 15 words Restarant expensive for what it offered. Buffet breakfast couldd have done with fresh fruit rather than tinned.
Friendly staff, nice garden, very clean, good location near beautiful beaches, but you have to have car.
This is a delightful new hotel and we were very pleased to find it . The staff were charming and professional The only problem we had was awful noise throughout the night from a barking dog located in an area adjacent to the pool . This affected all guest rooms on the pool side. The desk satff were surprised to learn of the problem; said it was not the hotel's dog therefore they could do nothing about it. Their guests comfort is of the utmost importance if they wish to have repeat visits from them. Unless this problem is dealt with, we could not stay here again. We liked all other aspects of the hotel.
The staff were very friendly and spoke very good English. The restaurant was very good, proberly the best food we had in Sardinia. Excellent value!
Friendly staff, lovely restaurant, near a large town and beautiful beaches and lovely walks within a few minutes drive of the hotel. No
Friendly staff and Internet use free Breakfast repetitious, no fresh fruit, no bacon and eggs
Very friendly staff, beautiful room and pool/gardens. Very good breakfast buffet. Ony 10 minutes from Olbia airport. Noisy wedding taking place but management put bottle of wine in room with apology.
Staff were really excellent and the restaurant is great. Nice place for a quiet romantic stay I would say, though there were also facilities in the hotel that children could use. It is a bit remote for people without a car - and the only taxis seem to be those at the airport.
Location is fantastic, hotel grounds very well kept, facilities very good Rooms somewhat rustic
The location and the view are wonderful, the pools are great. The hotel room was quite small and not partcularly attractive, yet very clean. The 4 different beaches are easily accesible and there isa very convenient shuttle service (available directly on call anytime!) to take guests around the compound. The restaurant is pricey, the food is good but too elaborate and expensive for having dinner there evry night. There is unfortunately only another option in the coumpoud for lunch/dinner, the bar pizzeria on the beach(cheaper and ok)
Pleasant Staff and warm welcome Initial enquiries via email/booking.com were unanswered
Spacious, comfortable rooms in a very tranquil setting. Friendly, helpful staff.
Roberto is one of the friendliest waiters I've ever met, his charm and charisma really made each meal we had in the restaurant. The food was delicious as well. We arrived in mid October and so the hotel and the areas around the hotel were empty. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, however our time at Ollastu was great. I'd like to go back when we can enjoy the sun beds and pool
The position of the Hotel; facilities; kindness and professionality of the staff; the style of the building/rooms, etc. n.a.
While it was a busy period (Rally Sardinia) the staff were friendly & effective. Nice decor and interesting layout. Good poolside service! Wonderful location & views. Only one resturant (quality but expensive).
Neat hotel located in beautiful garden with glorious view.Charming architecture, furnishing and ambiance.Bungallows are romantic and comfortable, pool is fairy-taleish,pitty that jacuzzi was out of operation.Tastefull breakfest buffee in quiet atmosphere and wonderfull restaurant with good food and staff. I liked the hotel and I have only minor recommendation : 1) In double rooms two blankets instead of only one would be more convenient. 2) Jacuzzi should be in operation. 3) Perhaps more moderate prices.
The swimming pool and gardens were lovely. The staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English which put our rather broken Italian to shame. The rooms were very well decorated, spotlessly clean and wonderfully air conditioned. We also liked the fact that they had bug plugs in the room which are essential in that part of Sardinia. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend this hotel. The only downside was that we found the beds a little hard, but as we were only here for one night we could put up with it and if we were staying longer I am sure we would have got used to it.
Brand new hotel, multi-lingual staff, very friendly and helpful, good breakfast, mini bar prices are cheaper than the hotel bar :-), good location just a detail: too less storage room particularly in the bathroom (shelves, towel holder, ...)
New toilet and shower. Tv was way to small
The hotel was exquisite-- it felt so luxurious and well-designed. It was also conveniently located to the town centre and so it was easy to walk to the main street as well as get to the train station or buses on foot. The showers in the rooms were amazing and the breakfast was delicious. Wish it had a swimming pool as there are no beaches in walking distance!
Frendly and very clean. Good breakfast buffet. nothing
It's close to the city centre, has a friendly staff, the accomodation is nice and very clean.
Impressive in all aspects especially the staff. Staff were friendly, spoke good English and were very helpful. Room was modern, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Hotel central to town centre where there was plenty of bars, restaurants & shops. I will return to this hotel when next in sardinia
Everything! We were delighted with every aspect of this hotel, the staff being especially attentive and helpful. There was nothing we did not like - even the fact that a large choir caused the breakfast room to overflow made our visit even more interesting and enjoyable
Excellent position and very friendly and helpful reception staff
The room layout and furniture
nice room with seaview, fiendly staff, walking distance from centre of town, which is very attractive for shopping and dining nothing
We used the Hotel Martini as a last night stopover on our holiday to Sardinia as our flight left from Olbia on the Sunday morning and we didn't fancy a long drive first thing after packing up at the Villa. Our Italian isn't that great so it was a pleasure to be greeted with reception staff who were fluent in English and more than helpful. We arrived a few hours early and they were happy to check us in to our of our suites (we'd been given free upgrades to both our rooms from twins to Suites - always a pleasant surprise !). We were able to chill out in the bar area and treated to great, attentive (without being over the top) hospitality. On the Sunday morning the drive to the airport only took about 10 minutes. A great hotel with excellent staff. There wasn't really anything to complain about but if I was to be really picky I would say that the location isn't perfect for access to the centre of Olbia (about a 10-15 minute walk through pretty boring streets).
The hotel is located right on the main street in the center of Olbia which was pretty convenient when looking for a place to eat late in the evening. We were only staying for one night to catch a flight early in the morning and they were pretty flexible with providing us with some breakfast before 7am. It is not possible to park directly on the hotel street and parking in the center is not easy to find.
Fabulous Location, Very friendly staff, amazing buffet breakfast, great rooms which are very nicely appointed and excellent value for money
The friendliness of the staff and the clean newly renovated decor of the hotel. It was also ina very convenient location either for the town and restaurants or for the beach and was only 10 mins from the airport. The breakfast was a continental style breakfast and well presented but there was nothing savoury which for me would have enhanced the options for breakfast.
Friendly staff The air filters need to be cleaned in the air conditioning units. The filter in room 105 looks as if it has never been cleaned and was full of stuff.
Excellent position, friendly service, nice breakfast Room outlook disappointing
The staff is very friendly and kind. The location is good. The room is small. The shower curtain was not fit.
we had a room overlooking the main street and did not here any voices or noise. impressive soundproofing
very nice room and welcoming staff!
Very pleasant staff to greet you on arrival.Very central to restaurants, bars etc.Near to the airport so you could stay like we did just for 1 night after a flight.Very delicious generous breakfast. Perhaps a bit noisy, but due to the location to be expected.
Nothing. Staff were rude in restuarant and all of the food was overpriced and tasted discusting. The receptionist advised us it would be 20 euros for a transfer from the airport and when we arrived at the hotel we were told we had to pay 30 euros?! Also the car hire company which were recommended by the hotel and who the hotel actually called and booked for us, were a total nightmare and ruinned our holiday. This hotel offers no value for money atall and is the worst place I have ever stayed. Nothing. Staff were rude in restuarant and all of the food was overpriced and tasted discusting. quietness, friendly staff, welcoming relaxing nasty smell on the balcony
Beach location, pool, gardens, friendly staff No
The fact that we were only staying two nights! Everything other than proximity to the beach and airport.
Everything, it was lovely. The staff were very very friendly and were great with our unsettled toddler, especially during meal time on our first evening. Maybe not the hotels responsibility, but perhaps improved lighting on the small road to beach as gets very dark and there are a couple of nice tavernas on the beach
We got half board and it was good value for money as the set dinner each night was really good. The restaurant was awesome and made up for any faults of the hotel. If you don't stay here, you should at least go to the restaurant while in Sardinia! I would be disappointed if I booked here for a week. It's not on the beach and it's not a resort as the advertising has you believe. We were originally given a smelly and dirty room on the ground floor facing the road. Only after a minor arguement with staff, we were given another room. The rooms are old and need an upgrade - should be downgraded to a 3 start hotel.
The Hotel Stefania is placed very close to Olbia and to the beautiful beach of Pittulongu. The Reception staff is very kind and professional. Rooms are good with a very good furniture Sardinian-style and offer a good view. The air-conditioning system is perhaps to be renewed/replaced with more modern models, as the present air-conditioners often create areas too much cool. The restaurant, while offers a very nice structure with good furniture, lights and views, should increase a little bit, in my personal opinion, the quantity of the dishes/food offered to the guests of the hotel. However, I wish also to stress that the quality of the food is good and well prepared/coocked.
Very friendly staff, good atmosphere. Very near to a good beach. My husband is a vegetarian and he did not get enough food variety, specially for dinner.
Staff was amazing, view from our room was spectacular pool still not cleaned, although only 2nd day of oeration during the season
nice rooms, close to beach, nicely painted pool not open, dinner disappointing
Wonderful design, excellent service, delicious breakfast. Everything was perfect. Not the best location.
buses from airport 1euro30c each taxis at least 20euros and only 5mins away....right by the port..lots of restuarents and costa smerela on your doorstep hotel very modern and very polite staff... the only thing we didnt like was the spar facilities ..these were chargeable per person per hour..this would be very expensive considering they are free with other top hotel chains we have used.
Large rooms with big double beds Felt like we were the only ones staying there, due to time of year of our visit
Overall style and design of the hotel, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, comfortable room, facilities, excellent room tariff, convenient location for Olbia airport. Not applicable
Reach and full breakfast, large room and large bed
It is of the style and quality level that myself and my wife appreciate. The Restaurant facilities where curtailed.
The grandeur and the breakfast. Large, comfortable bed. The noise of the disco we experienced on the Saturday night we stayed was very annoying. I specifically booked the hotel in order to get away from the noise of the camp-site so my son could have a good night`s sleep before travelling early the next day on an important cricket tour. At the time of booking it was impossible to know whether there were any noisy discos nearby. Also the air conditioning wasn`t working in our room so we had to change room, but this was dealt with efficiently.
Good looking hotel with glorious views over the harbour from the elevated balcony (we were on the 4th floor). Nice room (if a little cramped)with lots of toiletries. free internet!! We arrived in Olbia on a day when there were stalls set up in the streets and there was a fun (sic) fair on the other side of the street. The hotel was fairly full and it was only later on that this became a nuisance. The funfair did not go on too long so was not too much of a problem but there was a group of British guests who decided to have a Glee in their room with singing, chanting and poetry recitals until the small hours. Not great when you have to get up early to catch a flight! On another note I would ask when the hotel is going to do something about getting luggage in and out as those steps at the front are murder with 2 full suitcases!
Beautiful building spoilt by being right on a very busy roundabout leading to the port. Average size room but with a tremendous balcony opening out on to the street side of the hotel. Right in the heart of the restaurant and shopping area so not too far to go to find the main street and something to eat and drink. Good internet access in the room (by cable). Bit of an end of season, shoestring feel to the place (end of September). Had to leave my wife out in the street with the suitcases while I let them know we had arrived. Blank looks when I asked for help with the luggage. Eventually a luggage trolley was produced and the manager helped us transport our kit to the room. Breakfast was a little abstemious - not that there were many in the hotel! Air conditioning was not very good so I should imagine that in the height of a Sardinian summer it would be baking in the rooms.
