10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location with a balcony over looking the water. Lovely place
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Ok to be fair if you like driving through crazy winding roads to end up at a mediocre hotel near the seaside then ok it’s not that bad.
Cons: First we paid for an upgrade for an in room breakfast with private balcony. Well, balcony is there but was told next morning no such service is being offered. And to make it worst it was New Year’s Eve so the receptionist was rushing off. We got there at 7 she checked us in and passed us three keys to three rooms without telling us which key is for which room. Ended up my friend got our room but when we realized it was already too late and very late so I tried to call and ask the reception but wait... nobody was around!!!! So the plan my wife had for an in room breakfast watching the sunrise at a balcony turned into a 8am only available breakfast with a few pieces of croissant and cold meats.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Really loved the location - a wonderful seaside property! Met the owner, a warm charming man, who was very welcoming. Fantastic pool and swimming area. Was very quiet due to off season. Loved it!
Cons: The staff person in the morning was curt. Not fun to wake up to that when asking a few simple questions. The place was empty so it made no sense.
6.7 Good
Pros: The rooms were laid out beautifully. We had patio level rooms for two of our party, the other had a window only room. Regardless, we greatly appreciated the view and the accommodation. Especially having parking available to us.
Cons: The beds were incredibly hard and sagged in the middle, and also felt tilted towards the middle on both beds. My husband and I kept getting stuck between the two beds in the space pushed together to make a king. Like the bed kept trying to slide apart. My friends in the other rooms said the same thing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful city. Very walkable to everything including the ferry to Cinque Terre.
6.7 Good
Pros: The apartment is well situated, with a sea view in a quiet place. Has own parking, which is helpful in Portovenere. Room space is enough, rooms are warm and clean.
Cons: No safety. The builbing is open all day and night, everyone can come to your door. At night the parking is open. No problem to steal a car. Kitchen in the room exists, but to use it you must pay extra 30 euro (we were happy - they let us use for free). Also if you haven’t wash a dish - 30 euro. No cleaning if you stay less than a week. No problem for us (we stayed for one night) but others would consider. No staff available. Only two hours in the morning (checkin time 08-10) and three hours in the afternoon (chekout time 15-18). And even these hours you are not sure to have assistance: we had to call by cellphone to get a staff at checkout. Also as at night when a fire alarm was shouting for half an hour before turned off. Funny: the flash in toilet gives a very small portion of water. We complained but with no result. This is ECONOMY ))
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and and extent view. Pool was good
Cons: Wifi didn't work in the room and water pressure in the shower was rubbish, also hot water kept going to cold and water was undrinkable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast on outdoor patio was good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location with the very nice view.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was homey, good breakfast!!
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice, friendly staff.
Cons: Very old furnitures and building, too small bathroom and room, no parkingplace in the near, no restaurants open at lunchtime.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, very friendly host. I'm particular about cleanliness and Le Grazie was very clean.
Cons: Just a tiny bit dated could use new bedspreads. Double room was tight.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: You can walk to the bay area and swim or go to a restaurant. We took bus to Portovenere to go for a swim & to a concert. The bus stop is very close by. There is also a bus directly from La Spezia.

Ostello Porto Venere is a few steps from the historical centre of Portovenere, reachable via several steps. The property is ideal to explore the beautiful Cinque Terre villages, and it is just 50 metres from the bus stop to La Spezia.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location!
Cons: The sheets thing. Make the bed before we arrive. We’re paying you money.
5.0 Okay
Pros: It's a typical old-fashioned "youth hostel", the facilities are decent, it is clean and the beds are also ok. The location of the hostel itself is not bad, it is close to the bus stop, however, you need to walk some stairs (not really disabled-friendly).
Cons: I do not recommend the hostel, at least, during the low season. Portovenere is very bad connected then, no ferry and the bus frequency is very scarce, so it is super difficult to make a nice schedule to visit Cinque Terre. Regarding the facility itself, I was completely alone in the hostel, the reception closes at 7 pm and you cannot contact anyone, except for emergencies, but they leave the front door open (which I still cannot understand). During the night I stayed there, there was no warm water, the wifi was not working, one of the vending machines was doing an extremely horrible noise the whole night... I couldn't relate any of those issues as emergencies, so I didn't call, but I sent emails, but I got no support, but still, it made my night to be a nightmare. Luckily they let me leave the hostel the second day, although I had booked two nights. The common room is a bit disappointing, cheap/low-quality furniture.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: View from our room
Cons: Easy to find
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location, great building, service and amenities. Very helpful staff.
Cons: Noisy roommates who disregard the others in the room. But it does not depend on the host of the hostel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff member, fantastic location. Basic, but with everything you need and very clean. Kettle available to prepare hot drinks, as well as a fridge in communal room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view from the window is amazing!! It is close to the bus stop and village which is very convenient:)

7.0 Good
Pros: Elegantly decorated, hair dryer and kettle available. Very private. Free comfortable parking.

Pros: The location is in Fezzano, facing the local Marina. It was quiet, romantic and very charming. We had an apartment with very steep climb, which was fun. The place was spacious and clean. The parking - very convenient. Check-in/check-out - straightforward. Very good and responsive communication with the staff.
Cons: Room service - we've stayed for 3 nights, there was no cleaning/ arranging the room. Towels - the bathroom carpet was missing (and needed, as the shower cabin was leaking).
7.5 Good
Cons: The bed was uncomfortable, the matress was too thin
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A sweet little one bed roomed ‘cottage ‘ with lovely terrace next to marina , beautifully decorated with a small kitchenette.

Pros: Location
Cons: The lady (owner?) who finally answered the buzzer was rude, impatient and clearly felt that we were getting in the way of her sunday afternoon. When shown the room she opened the door and gave us the key and left despite the fact that the bed was a pull down and took 5 mins to find and another 5 mins to work out how to pull it down. she also took exception to the fact that despite free parking being offered, because there was a family gathering in het flat we'd have to park elsewhere. Pros: The location was absolutely excellent, we spent most evenings sitting on our little balcony people watching. Our host was so friendly and helpful, he allowed us to leave our bags inside even though we were 2 to 3 hours early to check in - which was very kind!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Evertrying was perfect. Portovenere is a romantic Pearl, beautiful place. It’s difficult to find something for money in these areas where you are close to the marina, restaurant and real Italy but here it is!! If you get the chance to book this place DO IT!! You will NOT regret. Maybe no pool and bar but you have better just outside your door! And even better your own Italian friend Juvarni, sweet and helpful, like really good person, he helped with parking which is impossible in this area to find so don’t worry Juvarni will fix you days in Portovenere there nothing he can’t do with a big smile all the time. soooo good! We will come back!

The churches and castle certainly add to the mystique. What a wonderful little town! Only stayed one night but one of our very favorites!Lots to see there and the opportunity to swim with the poets!
Cons: Only that we couldn't stay longer,,,,Parking could be tricky but we parked in the public garage with no issues. We were there in October which turned out to be perfect. Not sure what it would be like in the summer months.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and very practical modern room. Great view Nice location in town centre, near restaurants and bars. Very friendly owner.

Pros: location and boat service free
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location was beautiful with view of Portovenere. The water taxi to the hotel was lovely. The clerk at check in was friendly and helpful. The room was small but more than that, the door frame had been compromised, as if it had been forced open on more than one occasion and the door key did not open the door with ease. I did not feel as if the room and my belongings were safe and secure. There was a lovely little half balcony with beautiful views. The bathroom was perhaps the smallest bathroom I have ever been in, about 2.75 ft x 6 ft. Would have been impossible to use the toilet without backing in sideways. Although we were staying at the hotel and were seated for dinner before ANY OTHER DINERS had arrived, we were shuttled off to the rear of the dining area. After we stood and decided to leave and eat elsewhere, the waiter relented and gave us a small two seater with a view. It was all we wanted but amazed that we had to convince the staff that the first table was unacceptable. The food was good, but not great. The breakfast the next morning was fine. The waitress was friendly and so got a nice tip from me. On leaving the hotel, I slipped the check in clerk 20 Euro in full view of the waiter who did not make us happy the night before. (the waiter got nothing as a tip from me, perhaps he learned something). This might be a nice place to stay for one night for the experience but for the value received there are so many other FAR better places to stay in Portovenere, Lerici, Tellaro and Le Grazie.

5.8 Okay
Cons: It feels more like a restaurant with a few rooms to rent, more than a hotel. You have to know that the beaches on the island are not good. The two bath facilitles that you see on the satellite photos are in fact reserved for Italian Navy staff. The beach direclty next to the hotel is dirty, with broken glass. The only possibilitiy is the Punta Seca "beach" 5 minutes away, which has a nice bar and optional umbrella/lying chair rental, but it is very rocky and the swimming is not nice there.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location perfect. Staff terrific. Comfort 5*. Loved this place. Had been to Portavenera 3 time before. Best stay in the area!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location and very comfy rooms!
Cons: There was a $6 cash fee that was I was supposed to pay at checkout. I didn’t know this and I ended up leaving early to catch a train without paying it...which led to an awkward conversation via WhatsApp a few hours after I left. Better communication would avoid this in the future. Still a great stay, however.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived to our cute and tidy room with a great view. There was complimentary bottle of prosecco waiting for us. The staff showed us the amenities & gave us the daily agenda of the place (breakfast daily from 8AM until 10AM). We got our key and settled in. Everything is accessible from this location in Porto Venere. Just walk out the door and start shopping, dininng, exploring whatever. I could not ask for a better location. This unit is privately owned and the owner threw a spontaneous happy hour event for us as well. Given that it is only 6 units in total, the vibe is intimate and friendly and you feel at home. Perfect 10.
Cons: No complaints.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect. Staff very friendly.
Cons: The mattress had a plastic protector that we found odd. Are they expecting bed wetters to stay? Quite noisy from about 7:30am as staff prepare for breakfast.

Pros: The location, the kindness of the staff, the cleanliness of the room
Cons: Nothing major to note

Pros: Location and staff
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was superb -- out the back of the hotel put you along the water; a very short walk along the street in front took you to the public bus stop to La Spezia - very convenient. Very short walk to the center of Portovenere and all of its wonderful cafes and restaurants (we particularly enjoyed dinner at Tre Torre). Breakfast buffet was perfectly lovely. Room was very clean (we had peculiar room on the top floor that said it had 3 beds but double bed was on the main floor and 3 twin beds were up in the loft). We were only 2 people but if you needed to, could fit a family in there.
Cons: Staff could have been more helpful/friendlier when we asked about ferry/bus schedules (vague wave toward the piers). No information given about the hours of the breakfast buffet or anything else about the hotel. Wifi in the room wasn't particularly strong.

Pros: The location was amazing! We had a room with a balcony. Each night we enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco while watching the sunset. We walked along the waterfront to Byron’s Grotto and the church on the hill. Had dinner at the restaurant of their sister hotel: fantastic food and view. Our room was perfect. Would definitely recommend Hoel Belvedere to friends and family!
7.5 Good
Pros: We liked its location and ease of parking; the staff was helpful and kind; the view of the water was very good and made all the difference.
Cons: The smell of cleaning detergents used was very strong and smelled more chemical. It was so hard to get used to. The shower head kept falling down and sprayed all over me!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was perfect! The views and location are unbeatable! The staff was wonderful, welcoming, warm and accommodating, even accommodating special requests for a high floor and sea view. The views from the breakfast balcony were idyllic. Breakfast was plentiful as were the cappuccinos. There was even a chess set in the lounge area. Hotel was just steps from the ferries, supermarket and bus stop. Couldn’t have asked for a better location or hotel. Everything was comfortable, quiet and peaceful. Shower and bathroom are tiny but so what. Everything else was wonderful. Great value! I didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to return! Will definitely stay here again.

Cons: Nothing major to note

5.4 Okay
Pros: The property was in a good location and had very nice views. The free breakfast was pretty good and the room was comfortable (though nothing spectacular) We also met a fantastic employee who walked us to the local bus, assisted with our luggage and made sure we had everything figured out. That gentleman (the porter/bellhop) was spectacular. I regret not catching his name.
Cons: Unfortunately, it seems as though the property was not prepared for guests in the season we visited. “Beach access” was definitely not in their current offering and when we inquired about where to swim, we were simply told “walk to the left and there are some spots. The water will be very cold.” I understand that not everyone might swim in early fall, but we would have loved to at least sit and read by the ocean. The stone beach we could find was not very close, not indicated in any way, and there was not a soul there. In fact, all the entrances to the beach had been blocked off and it seemed like some type of maintenance was under way. If they do offer beach amenities (chairs, towels) in the summer, it would have been nice to know that the beach would be closed and these services would not be available to us upon our arrival. It was really disappointing for a coastal town, and one of the main reasons we originally chose to visit. Additionally, the ferry to the main tourist spots was not running when we arrived, and no alternate transportation was offered besides a “50 euro taxi which would arrive in an hour.” Their site had referenced a shuttle to take us, but I suspect this might have only been available under heavy demand. Again, never indicated to us when we booked, nor when we spoke at the front desk. So we struck out on both an afternoon at the beach and a night in the heart of cinque Terre. One final issue - the WiFi was actually stronger outside the hotel than in our room. None of our devices would hold a connection. Not the end of the world normally, but frustrating when you find out that the beach and the town won’t be in your plans. Overall, the property did not merit its price in terms of amenities nor luxury. Our trip to the Grand Hotel sounded a lot better on paper than it ended up being
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was 1st class. The room, service, assistance and recommendations were all excellent. The rooms were clean and the amenities were outstanding.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The setting in this beautiful town is exceptional. Our room overlooking the sea was very well presented. Staff were attentive, even had the manager checking we were happy and he farewelled us as well. While breakfasts and dinner were good, we didn’t find the food to be outstanding, however restaurant staff offered good service. Use of hotel car park was great.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The view was amazing and the food was fantastic.
Cons: The bedding was not good at all and the hotel was very noisy Also think it’s ridiculous you have to pay to get clothes ironed ! Very room should have an iron or service for free - big inconvenience on vacation

Cons: room size a bit small, bigger would be better; bathroom ventilation could be better, as we were there, weather was wet, and without ventilator, not pleasant; not much happening in Le Grazie in Oct, so rather difficult to find food, but if you enjoy quietness, this is the place
