first of all the location, couldn't be better. The rooms were excellent (outside view rooms). the staff was very friendly and helpful. need to renovate the elevator...extremely slow and too small
Hotel is situated overlooking the Golf of Poets. Great view of the water, boats and city streets from our room. Great breakfast and dining room with large patio overlooking water and city. Manicurist is adorable and did great job. Reception staff not too helpful. One word answers to our questions.
The staff were extremely kind, the view superb and the breakfast really good (in a terrace overlooking the sea &town) No cable tv, no internet in the rooms (only in reception hall) and, in general, the price should be a bit lower.
The Hotel is right in the centre of Porto Venere, and is the old Convent so has something of the old as well as good modern facilities. It is easy to reach from La Spezia, (bus, taxi, boat). We found it good base to explore the Cinque Terra coast and national park.It is good also for just relaxing in Porto Venere with its sea harbour, cafes, restaurants and shops.Dont miss the mid august festival period with the procession for the White Maddona,a visually stunning experience.
Great location, nice room. Parking
The location was the best part of this hotel. The view from the room was very nice. The hotel was generally out dated, old looking furniture, carpets, bathroom, lift, TV etc. Is really needing renovation and considering the 180euro per night price tag..people expect more value for your buck.
The hotel was very well situated and our room had a wonderful view of Portovenere and the harbor front. Helpful staff, as well. Minor point, but the room could have used a fresh painting.
Gorgeous, modern, clean, elegant, great value for the money, perfect location. No conditioner :(
The position of the hotel was very convenient for the little town of P.V. with plenty of restaurants to choose from. The room was always cleaned thoroughly and a pleasure to return to at the end of the day -excellent cleaning staff. The breakfast service was inconsistent and we often had to search for staff to ask for our coffee. The orange juice set out in the jugs was not good - from powder I think. We only discovered on the last day by pure chance that freshly squeezed orange juice could be requested - it was a well-kept secret! The lift needs updating - very slow and frustrating. The fact that one could not walk from the reception up to the fourth floor or down again without going outside is bizarre. Also some kind of pleasant indoor lounge - with a view- would be nice for rainy days.
Great position. Room without sea view. Spa and wellness center are not free but too much expensive.
Portovenere was an ideal location for a visit to Cinque Terre. The views were incredible from the hotel. Loved it!
The staff and food
The great view of the sea and harbour as the great warm and helpful staff. The rooms are plain but very clean and confortable . Very European. Everything was excellant
Location was perfect The comfort of the hotel is very poor. The furniture in the rooms is outdated and the bed is like a stone. The breakfast also not so good. Overall, the value for money is very poor.
The location in the town was perfect and they had great, friendly staff. Very comfortable. I wish there was more variety in the daily breakfast that was included.
Superb position and view Very small bathrooms. After dinner coffee had to be taken in the pool bar with plastic chairs - not comfortable for after dinner
Portovenere was a beautiful and interesting location offering access to cinque terre My single room was only separated from the adjoining room by a sliding wooden partition so that even quiet conversation in the next room was completely audible.
The swimming pool and breakfast selection Room size, lack of Internet availability, lack of reading lighting in lobby and rooms,
availability of parking some of the staff could be more helpful and informative. the outdated restaurant furniture.
Hotel staff very helpful and relaxed. Good to have a pool. Breakfast good. Very overpriced for the room I got at £100 a night. My room was very small and right next to the lift, so could hear lift all night until about 1am. There was only a shower and not a bath. Breakfast was a good selection of continental style, but eggs, bacon etc was extra cost. Hotel parking very expensive at 20€ a day. The price was the same even if you arrive at 6pm in evening,
The breakfast was very good and the staff in the restaurant in the mornings were very pleasant. There is very poor soundproofing in the bedrooms so that all the noise from next door can be heard. The staff on reception were efficient but not particularly friendly. The standard of room is perfectly adequate but does not warrant the top end prices charged.
This was my 2nd stay at your hotel, due mainly to position and proximity to Tuscany. the issue of parking should perhaps be explained in 'map form' to show exactly where you can park with a hotel ticket espescially if there is a client who does not speak/read Italian.
nothing except the hotel staff and the breakfast was very good horrible room with no decoration, un comfortable beds, bathroom horrible
Very nice hotel, with beautifull sea view, good attention by staff. Excellent place for a honeymoon. Lack of parking facilities.
Nice, accommodating staff, clean comfortable rooms; ask for rooms with views of harbor.
The breathtaking view The charge for parking 20 Euro/24hours that was unexpected from the particulars
Very good restaurant, nice view
Hotel location was convenient. View from room was to die for!!! Staff was friendly, and has a good restuarant NONE
nice place and view, kind people at reception and restaurant, quiet area, easy to reach breakfast rather poor, but if requestet they brought more (f.i. eggs, ham). Very small bathroom, noise from neighbours (probably thin walls). Dinner not overwhelming (roquefort cheese in the soup looked strange), instead of commanded fritto misto we got another plate (they mixed up to guests)
The location is very good and the view was very nice. The breakfast was quite poor.
small, intimate hotel very near central piazza. Very helpful staff. Every room has a view of the bay. Rooms are small.
situation in Portovenere, view price is overestimated
When we arrived, the reception personnel couldn't find the reservation for one of 2 rooms. Luckily, they had a vacant room, so we could stay overnight. Otherwise, the hotel is pretty basic, breakfast is scarce and overall not worth the price
Size of room and staff helpfulness. They upgraded our room because it was our honeymoon which was nice The parking is a disaster. It is off site and you have to pay 18 euro for the privelage. They have free parking out front but you can never get a spot so beware
Nothing Bath room
Spacious, nice room Walking distance to main station is kind of far
very modern and fresh rooms. staff were helpful, letting me use their computer after my wallet was stolen on the Cinque Terre (we didn't have a laptop to use the internet in the room) The address in the hotel information didn't have the number, so even with the tom-tom, finding the hotel in the one way system was a bit hard
Location was great. Rooms had all the necessities. Limited free parking out front, beds were hard (as were found in most of Italy though)
We were driving and found the location was very convenient and the parking was very useful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The breakfasts were fabulous but it would be great to get expresso as part of the breakfast and not an extra charge.
Room and cleanliness TV channels (not many international channels)
The air conditioning in my room was non functional
Front desk staff helpful. Breakfast included in price was excellent. A comfortable place to 'land' at the end of a long day of travel.
Modern and clean hotel, good location close to the main shopping and restaruant streets. Staff were nice and friendly and very helpful in locating a dostor for me. Beds were quite firm, would have liked a softer bed
nice bathroom, the owner was nice when we saw her! no one there when we arrived, another guest answered the door! breakfast in a cafe in town,(so had to leave the room etc) , just one coffee & croissant- for 85 euros!
The owners were fantastic! Even the people we were directed to have breakfast at, were fantastic! We were driven to a carpark and driven back to the hotel. We showed up and were offered a free upgrade to our rooms (originally supposed to have 1 room for 4 people, gave us 2 double rooms for the same price). The rooms were the largest we've ever stayed in while traveling through Europe. Beds were very comfortable. Perfect location to catch a train if you're traveling the Cinque Terre or any of the small villages nearby. Originally were only supposed to stay 1 night in La Spezia at Casa Dane but stayed an extra night because of the location and hospitality. Definitely recommend this hotel! We were a little confused when we arrived because there was no one at the hotel. We didn't know that we were supposed to call before arrival and then they would meet us at the hotel. All in all, probably our fault and the way things work there... just a bit confusing.
rooms are furnished cheaply
The town itself was a great place to stay for the Cinque Terre. It was clearly off season and hotel was pretty empty as was restaurant
We were late arrivals and the staff accomodated our schedule. The restaurant stayed open late for us. The breakfast was excellent. Our room offered a view over Portovenere Harbor.
Walking distance to Portovenere, nice balcony watching the sea, good pool and private beach. was quite pricey.
Clean, well equipped rooms with a great view over the bay. The pool attached to the residence had algae throughout the bottom and we did not think it safe to swim.
The location facing the sea was beautiful ,and the deck was large and well equipped - lounge chairs ,table and chairs for outside dining. The one bedroom apartment was a decent size.Access to a pool and the sea was a plus The apartment was really not decorated at all which was a shame because with a little effort it could be quite stylish.
Friendly helpfull staff, excellent rooms and good value for money The only minor complaint I had was that the A/C didn't go below 24 degrees Celcius.
Good size room, had balcony overlooking the water, free car-parking, good restaurant. Hotel location is about 15 minutes walk to the town centre of Portovenere which has it's good and bad points. "breakfast buffet" was the worst we have seen/experienced in 8 months of travelling, plastic plates/cutlery/glasses were used and very minimal choice of food. We now understand one previous reviewer who commented that breakfast was "same as nothing"..... It's a shame as the rest of the experience was great.
No internet connectionPoor furnishing. Bad electrical plugs. Not enough
The breakfast was not so good.
the room which had a very nice view. The location was also good the staff could be nicer. Breakfast was poor considering other hotels price wise
We stopped for 1 night with a sea view room and could have easily stayed for more. Excellent value for money with a medium sized room, but with a fantastic balcony overlooking the bay and a second balcony for catching the sun with some privacy... A Lovely small port town too, supported by the hotel helping us to rent a speedboat for the afternoon to tour the Cinque Terra the best way.
Pleasant venue with lovely view of marina from room balconies and from restaurant.Pleasant relaxing outdoor pool. Quiet neighbourhood. Good to be just out of Portovenere but within bus access of it. Not wholly reliable for communications and information and sometimes a bit too laid back for convenience.
Excellent value for money
Wonderful position. Stylish hotel
Great location! Right on the water. Great small village. For a great meal, go to the restaurant NEXT to the hotel. Air conditioning was weak.
Fantastic location, a beautiful quit corner by a small charming marina make sure you have a Sea view room
The restaurant was nice. They had an elevator but when you got off on your floor with all the luggage there were 2 sets of stairsto your room so it was not good. When I emailed this hotel they flat oout lied to me about the location. They would not help with baggage. I had to walk to a public bus stop about 9 blocks away and I have a bad knee. I was several kilometers from where I wanted to be and it messed up my plans. The room was tiny.
Location, facility, made an effort Hotel is slightly understaffed
Hotel has a convenient location, close to where you might like to board a ferry to view the C.T. Reception staff were very helpful. We asked for a room with a view and a quiet room and we received a quiet room with a lovely view. With adding these into bookings.com when you are making a hotel booking.
Location was good for traveling by car Room seemed outdated.
friendly and helpful reception staff, very good location of the hotel air condition did not work, insufficient sound isolation from the neighbor room, bathroom would need some small repairs, some of food at the breakfest was not fresh
unfortunately I would find anyting positive to comment on at this hotel from our experience. As a hotel broker I see many hotels and the service and price of this hotel is far from satisfactory. Our room was not as described, we experienced insects in the room, the room was not clean and in need of repair of basic utilities. The service from the staff was far from satisfactory, rude and unhelpfull. I would struggle to recomend this hotel to any traveller. see comments above
The hotel lobby, restaurant, conference rooms and rooftop garden were all first class. The room was okay - could use updating. Simple, but clean.
Reception staff were especially helpful Bar did not open until 6.30 p.m., and even then it was only service in the main reception area.
it was a clean and well run hotel with very friendly and helpful staff breakfast could have been better
Friendly and helpful reception staff. Our room had a very nice view to the harbour. Announced refurbishing of the hotel, was very clearly recognizable. Restaurant only served a barbeque buffet during our stay in August.
Location close to town and the port Lack of available parking and high cost of parking.
We stayed at this hotel due to my husband having a medical incident while on vacation in the Cinque Terre. He was in hospital in La Spezia and this hotel is well located near the hospital and also overlooking the harbout. When my husband was discharged from hospital, we stayed in a junior suite that was perfect for our needs. The staff were very obliging in helping us to have accessibility in an older building. As well there is a good breakfast included on the lobby level and a restaurant off the 1st floor. We found the restaurant to be lovely because it has an outdoor terrace overlooking the harbour; however, the menu is essentially the same everyday with limited buffet options. That is where we could see some room for growth.
Well located & good view from room
It was ideally located for train trips to Cinque Terre. Just what we wanted. Friendly staff, and very helpful. Breakfast was good. There needs to be a major upgrade of WiFi service. It was very poor, and very, very expensive! Not what the modern traveller expects. I wasted many Euro waiting for connections, service etc.
location is great staff was no smile
The location next to the train station is ideal as a base for travel to Cinque Terre The pillows were so soft and that makes sleeping uncomfortable.
Easy access to the station and a good breakfast Limited tv options
The building is very old, and they have kept many of the original features. My room was huge with ancient exposed beams, but a very modern bathroom. The staff are most helpful, and happy to help organise tours etc. I had an injury and they were very helpful in getting medical treatment and ensuring I got any assistance I needed.
The purpose of our stay here - easy access to Cinque de Terre - was fully served. The hotel was well situated, and the staff helpful. the breakfast was very nice - wide variety. There was some ambiguity about what was included in the breakfast, and what one had to pay extra for, if anything.
Had wonderful view from our 3rd floor window. The staff most helpful with recommendations for good restaurants and maps. Proximity to railway station was excellent. The shower was a bit small.
Good breakfast facilities; nice staff Chipped cups; poor lift service ground floor button not working
close proximity to train station limited english of check in staff limited english tv channels no one told us there was an internet computer that we could use
The closeness to the Station. Would be a pleasant improvement if Staff smiled occasionally. The younger aged staff were pleasant whereas the older ones were quite grumpy.
Hotel Mary was fantastic! about 2min walk from the station ( acess to cinqa terre). Staff were friendly. Room was large, clean and comfortable!
This hotel is right across the street from the main hotel which is good if you're passing through. Shower was itty bitty!
It was close to the station, the staff were very helpful and we stayed in far worse 3 star hotels this trip.
The pizza place around the conner, but it had nothing to do with the hotel It was the worst hotel that we stayed at in all of Italy. We checked out as soon as we were able because of the condition on the hotel. Insulation was falling out of the ceiling, paper thin walls, the beds were like sleeping on cots, and no matter what room you were in you could hear the traiffic from the street below.
The hotel was very conveniently situated for visiting La Spezia and the Cinque Terra as it is directly across from the train station. There are many shops and restaurants close by and internet access is available either at the hotel or just down the road. The hotel staff were very friendly and English was understood. The continental breakfast was excellent. I was travelling on my own and felt safe and secure staying at the hotel and coming and going from the hotel. I have no hesitations at all about recommending the Hotel Mary.
best feat was being right next to the main station, free internet also v.good and room ok too. For some who like having a nice breakfast though, forget about it. The most spartan I have ever experienced I'm afraid, really poor probably for lack of effort. For some who like having a nice breakfast though, forget about it. The most spartan I have ever experienced I'm afraid, really poor probably for lack of effort.
The hotel staff was very kind and informative. Our quad room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was good. This hotel was one of the most expensive on our trip - the same as our hotel in Venice. The close proximity to Cinque Terre makes the price fair.
the access to city, port, transport and shopping was wonderful.
The location in relation to the train station was excellent. The breakfast was nice too. One of the staff members made us feel rushed at breakfast and barely smiled. This made us feel as though we were more of a burden than a valued paying guest.
the air conditioning the location was less than what we expected, but not terrible
good location not enough food choices for breakfast and quantaties not replenished quickly outside street noise so loud it was almost impossible to sleep at night bed very uncomfortable matress needed replacing noise from other rooms clearly audible
We thought it was great how we could have our family with 3 children all together in the one area and it was great value for money for us! The included breakfast was also fantastic and the front desk reception staff were happy and helpful and even though we don't speak much italian they were able to speak fluent English. Also the shuttle bus was really helpful and useful to us. We thought it was excellent- no complaints.... Many hotels now have free wifi which is very useful.
The restaurant down the street "i Mitili" was amazing. Get to the Breakfast early.
Well set up for the cinque terre train connection Near a main road
The woman in the frontdesk was very nice - she helped us with good restaurant recomedations and direction. they give you free raid to the cinqua terra train (back and forward) the driver was supper kind to us. The hotel is old so the aircondition is old. there is no hut chocolate.
The staff was most helpful. We reached the hotel at about 9 PM, and the lady at the reception helped us order some food. Given that we had just about two X 1/2 days at La Spezia, they helped us plan our trip such that we were able to cover Cinque Terre and go to Pisa!
- large, comfortable room with balcony - shuttle service to train station from where trains depart to the cinque terre towns Although breakfast was served from 8 to 10 a.m., certain items on the breakfast buffet were not replenished after 9 a.m.
The rates presented great value for money The location was terrible with the hotel in a run-down area with no shops or restaurants. It was far from the city centre. The decor and furniture of the rooms were extremely dated and rooms were not thoroughly cleaned. The heating also didn't work well.
The staff was very, very helpful. Bed could have been softer
Great service concerning Cinque Terre. Woman at the desk spoke excellent English and was so kind and helpful! We got our tickets for CT from the hotel.Good breakfast. Free shuttle-bus to train station. Safe parking.
Gorgeous rooms -- especially the quad, which ended up being two different rooms -- perfect for us as two couples. Price was very good for how nice it was. Also a good variety of breakfast options. Not very close to city centre or train, so take advantage of free shuttle to hotel . Also, be sure to ask hotel staff for recommendations of nearby restaurants. We liked Mitili a lot.
Lovely to stay in a modern, comfortable hotel right on the water. For those who like to swim it is an excellent choice. Would recommend for Australians, it has a beach with sand. Very comfortable, with friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely recommend. Very different experience from the more historical Italian hotels, which we have also enjoyed, but nice to have a change. Good restaurants close by in the town itself and in Lerici, an easy walk.
We had a seaview room with the bay literally lapping on the rocks right below our balcony. Beautiful view of the town. The staff was wonderful and obviously cared about the quality of our stay there.
As a small hotel they were very attentive to the guests. Great recommedations for dining. Upgrade mattress and bedding
I enjoyed the room with sea view just few meters from the sea with a rather unique location. The staff of the Hotel is very charming and welcoming. The position of the Hotel allows to enjoy the nice walkable way San Terenzo-Lerici. sky tv, cable internet, minibar and deckchairs on the balcony are available to enjoy a nice breakfast on the balcony. If you are looking for a large Hotel with large common areas you might be in the wrong place. It is a small hotel where all the space is devoted to rooms so do not expect more than hotel rooms. Breakfast and restaurant are available in the "Colombo" bathing establishment belonging to a separate management where you can also have a 25 euros dinner menu upon request. The offer of restaurants in the surroudings is large, try to avoid the most turistique place. "La Miranda" (Tellaro, Lerici) and "La Posta" (La Spezia) are good addresses to have a nice dinner. If you want to enjoy an exclusive beach go to "Fiascherino" at "Eco del Mare" beach (average price including lunch between 60-80 euros per person).
fiew, food I booked the half pension additionally and had to pay more as if I booked it right away. It was not much, but I didn't really understand that.Situated - no possibilty to do anything in the evening without using the car.
The staff were welcoming and the room was excellent
The hotel is in a quiet location and within a comfortable distance to Lerici for access to Cinque Terra At the October time period there is little available in the area.
Excellent dining with beautiful view over Mediterranean, comfortable room with balcony view and easy access to nearby attractions.
Lovely big room with huge balcony and great views. Lovely restaurant staff and fabulous food. Too far from a beach- 400 steps down- not suitable for familes or older peopleor disabled.
The location - absolutely superb The staff were extremely helpful and courteous
Didn't realize it was so far from La Spezia. It cost about 40 euros both ways but the people made our stay outstanding. need more info on the the ways to get from train station to hotel by taxi or bus.
Nice view on the ocean (not for the backyard rooms!); very clean; friendly staff
The service at the desk and in the restaurant. The waiterr was very professional. That there was a beach,a restaurant and a busstop nearby.
Amazing views and area Needed to check emails whilst there - no internet access
view and facilities No but we did leave a walking pole in our room. If it could be returned to us we will gladly pay the postage and any other incidental expenses. Thank you John Gibson
The hotel is beautiful with spectacular views across the gulf. The breakfast is copious and would satisfy most tastes, offering not only croissants but muesli, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cold meats cheese, eggs etc. etc....
Lovely location, quiet and relaxing hotel. Staff were usually very pleasant and helpful. Good choice of foods at breakfast. Stuffy smell in bedroom on returning there at end of day.
The fact that few cars are allowed in the area. We could hear the waves from our room and had a great view. Also they honored my request for twin beds and a sea view The water pressure in the shower was weak and there was no tub.
friendly welcome - good English spoken - excellent position close to beach abd just 10 mins stroll to town - good arrangements for parking car
location, friendly staff
location is very beautiful connecting rooms for 2 adults + 2 kids were small, but worked ok for one night stay
The location was great for walking to Lerici and San Torenzo on the promenade and viewing the sea.
The location of Hotel Florida Lerici is perfect - right across the road from the beach. The terrace on the top floor is a great place to relax with a great view of the beach. There was plenty of variety at breakfast and our room was very comfortable, with a brand new bathroom and incredibly clean! I would highly recommend Hotel Florida Lerici.
Excellent position opposite beach. entrance foyer and litting area very impressive The rooms did not reflect the rest of the hotel. The bathroom was dirty around the toilet area. Stale urine smells present.
The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The views of Lerici and the Gulf of Poets are spectacular and fair compensation for some of the accessibility challenges to and from the hotel. The breakfast provided is one of the best I have had in Italy and the terrace provides a great location for an afternoon drink overlooking the bay. The hotel restaurant is quite good but rather expensive compared to other choices down in the Piazza Garibaldi. The hotel is difficult to access by vehicle. The road to the hotel is above it and you must carry bags down into the hotel lobby and back up when leaving. I would not recommend this hotel for someone with a disability that made climbing stairs difficult. Reaching the restaurants and shopping around the Piazza Garibaldi requires a shallow descent on path with 100 widely spaced steps. The return back up to the hotel may leave some a bit winded. Pack lightly if staying at the Doria Park!
beautiful sea port view, wonderful breakfast and proximity to Cinque Terre mini bar wasn't working
The staff was very friendly and they even gave us a free room update. The location is breathtaking. Do get a room with a view: it is well worth the extra money. Lerici is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Also, the restaurant at the hotel is really worth a visit. We had dinner there and were very happy with the excellent service and quality of the food. The prices are reasonable. The breakfast buffet is very rich and diverse. You will not be disappointed. It could do with a little updating.
We liked the very comfortable, individually designed, well-equipped bedrooms, loved the peaceful terraces with stunning views over the harbour and the Bay of Poets to the hills of the Cinque Terre and were impressed with the friendliness of all the staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble. The wonderful breakfasts more than lived up to their reputation and were available until midday, which guaranteed a relaxed start to the day. On the day we ordered melon and prosciutto for a light lunch it was stunningly presented and we enjoyed our evening meals too. The fresh fruit available in reception was much appreciated. We were very glad to have chosen a hotel with private parking, as parking in Lerici is not easy and we did not need the car much during our week's stay. We were a bit disappointed that the restaurant was closed in the evening on 3 of our 7 nights and that a couple of items we selected on the English menu were not available because the Italian menu had changed .We really couldn't recommend the jugs of coffee on the breakfast buffet, though staff were very willing to fetch coffees from the bar. It was good to have tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom, though many English visitors would appreciate some milk too.
Great view (definitely I recommend a room with a sea view). Good food. Beautiful short walk to the town center.
the english breakfast buffet - it was excellent and the Parking near the hotel is very comfortable! The room: we have booked a "deluxe" double room with sea view. To our oppinion room Nr. 234 was not in this category. We had sea view, but the room was small and the bath room was really narrow.
Great location for exploring the Cinque Terre; hotel is a 5 min walk from the ferry boarding point, restaurants and waterfront, yet in a quiet location. Staff were very helpful, room was clean and comfortable with a great balcony overlooking the harbour, breakfast was an interesting buffet assortment. Would recommend Lerici as an ideal point from which to explore this area. Beware that due to nature of the location, access to the hotel and walk back from the main square is via steep walkways and stairs; we had no problems but can understand other reviewers comments in this regard.
Very friendly, helpful staff. We were very glad we had followed advice and booked a deluxe room with sea-view. Although the hotel is built into the hillside and there are great views, it's only a couple of minutes walk down a pedestrian path to the Piazza. Great choice at breakfast. As other reviewers have said, it is difficult to find by car. You do need the online instructions and even then, we needed to do a couple of U-turns. The lack of any help offered with suitcases when checking-in was out of charcter with the service at all other times. This could be put right so easily and would improve the service rating at a stroke. Decoration is slightly old-fashioned but comfortable.
the town was beautiful, hotel was superb, and I enjoyed the balcony overlooking the harbor. A delightful experience in every way.
The room was deluxe with a balcony and view of the town and beautiful bay. Excellent facilities, very clean and good breakfast. The place is almost impossible to find due to the lack of signage (and the low level of information available at the town's tourist information office and the hotel association's representative, neither of whom new exactly where the hotel was located in this very small town, and neither of whom could give directions for access with a vehicle.) Once we did arrive, there are no signs directing access from the car park to the lobby. One has to wander up and down steep stairs until arriving at reception; the desk is understaffed with one clerk constantly one the telephone handling bookings. Once we arrived, it took at least 35 minutes to get the key to the right room and to have someone help get our luggage from the car up to our room on the fifth floor. Finally, the lobby and public areas are very scruffy and worn out - they do not reflect the standard of the hotel nor of the excellent well-furnished room. Time for an upgrade to the reception area.
