Cons: Very clean staff were excellent . Lovely little town
Pros: Very new property, the staff was very, very friendly and helpful. Everything was sparkling clean and new. Go for lunch or dinner to Restaurant Ronquillo, excellent food and service. We will come back for sure.
Pros: The receptionist Ana was very kind and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Very pleasant and modern hotel.
Pros: Wonderful stay, everything perfect, lovely ladies
Pros: 103 was a spacious room, with a large comfortable bed and excellent shower. Breakfast was a very pleasant experience, plenty of choice and a warm greeting from Ana. Location was convenient for a stroll into the town centre.
Cons: Everything was fine with the hotel. However, most of the restaurants in the town seem to be closed on a Tuesday, the night we were there. But we had a good meal at the Cascades bar, basic food( none the worse for that) and great service.
Pros: Staff couldn’t do enough for you so pleasant and helpful . Breakfast lovely . Fresh orange was gorgeous and freshly squeezed. Room spotless and bed and pillows so comfortable
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like
Pros: Excellent accommodation and breakfast.
Cons: We would have liked a bar / restaurant
Pros: Clean and comfortable. Town attractive and quiet. We arrived Saturday night and left Sunday morning so alot was closed. Staff welcoming.
Pros: Smart, tidy, clean. Nothing too much trouble for any of the staff.
Pros: Everything. Love the decor, very modern and super clean. Great breakfast included. Huge bed, top quality bedding. Great location for exploring this beautiful area. Lots of local bars and restaurants. Above all super staff, helpful and professional. Put up with our attempts at Spanish, thank you.
Cons: Would like tea/coffee facilities in the room
Located in Ramales de la Victoria, Finca Artienza is within a 15-minute drive of Cullalvera Cave and Karpinabentura. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location, the size of the apartment and it was great for kids, as my 4 year old son did not want to leave. Trampoline in the garden, swings, loads of space to run around and a little chest with trucks and toys. Overall, great place to stay and enjoy Cantabria.
Pros: Nice garden and building.
Pros: Quite and beautifull place. Very nice and helpfull owner.

Pros: Kind English speaking staff, idyllic place to stay, nice breakfast, nice and clean bathroom.
Pros: Wonderfully situated guesthouse a good hour from Bilbao. We (family with 2 year old child) spent four days there and left the beautiful area only once. You can spend the whole day relaxing under the apple trees or at the pool with a view into the mountains. The owner is incredibly nice and cooks very well. We felt like in a family. The two dogs are very fond of children and like to be petted. For our child there was a free cot, the cosy living room offers a variety of books and games. We would go on holiday there again at any time.
Cons: Unfortunately, the bed in our room creaked loudly with every little movement. Otherwise it was comfortable.
Pros: If you would like a small, friendly, out of the way place with really good food then this is for you. Lots of walking routes, peace and quiet and lovely terrace and pool to return to. Mica the owner is a wonderful host.
Pros: Lovely place, a bit hipster. In the middle of nowhere which is what we wanted. Host was great and tried her best to look after us. Bonus to have a pool. Food was home cooked and great although portions too small. Cleanliness was good.
Cons: No aircon and room was unbearable due to heat. Being charged 30 eu a night extra for an extra bed in the room to accommodate a family of 4 was a bit poor imo. Host provided a fan after asking. Fan not up to the task of cooling though. Room didn’t have mosquito nets upon arrival so room filled up with flies very quickly. Mosquito nets provided after asking. Also place needs a little tlc with minor maintenance issues.
Pros: Lovely quirky property, great location and ambiance. Very warm hostess, Mica. Excellent food. Would definitely recommend/go back.
Cons: Shower very small. No tea/coffee making facilities in room, though we were able to borrow a kettle. Bit cold in early November and no heating but didn’t ask for heater which may have been available.

Pros: The hotel presents better online than in reality. Room was clean and there were plenty of rooms to find a quiet spot. Breakfast was average with eggs and bacon generally cold. Pool was great and had better internet connection than our room on 2/F. Restaurant food for dinner was excellent. Perfect spot for families.
Pros: Beautiful place surrounded by mountains, lot of places to relax in hotel area including nice swimming pool, enough free parking places inside hotel area, spacious and comfortable rooms (bungalow in the garden), big bathroom with whirpool, steady WiFi connection, very good breakfast, delicious meals at the local restaurant
Pros: The location is 25minutes to Ason national park, almost 1 hour driving to Santander, 1 hour to Bilbao and 1 hour to the bilbao airport. The atmosphere is great in the hotel and you can feel the history in the building. You need a car to stay in the hotel. Parking available
Cons: no fresh air in the room. The room air was wet somehow.
Pros: The atmosphere in the palace, the very good restaurant, the nice rooms, the very friendly staff, the location
Pros: The food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner. The service was informal but mostly friendly, at worst a bit shy and reserved. The room (family room in the tower) was large, comfy and quiet. The bathroom was modern, the rest historic but well equipped. We asked for an extra bed for our second child, as the pullout sofabed was too small for two teenagers, and it was quickly provided. The setting is rustic and charming, the pool modernised since our last visit, and a little smaller than we would have liked, given the spacious grounds. The price is reasonable (both accommodation and food).
Cons: Not much
Pros: The garden, pool and internal ambience were first class
Cons: Dinner was very poor

Pros: Gorgeous location in rural Spain. The owner used Google conversation to communicate with us because we do not speak Spanish. He was super friendly, gracious, and very accommodating. We love the hotels eclectic decor. We stayed in the Mexico suite with our own private balcony overlooking the hills, valleys and mountains of this beautiful Spanish village. We watched the moon rise, slept in a super comfortable bed and sunrise was glorious. We purchased the breakfast option and it was wonderful. Pastries, fruits, fresh orange juice, coffee, eggs, toast, jams, sausage. We loved and highly recommend this hotel!
Pros: Everything was excellent!!! We came for one night and we loved so much the place that we decided to stay one more night. The treat is excellent, you really feel welcome and like home. And cannot forget the best breakfast ever!!!!!!!! If you pass nearby, don't hesitate to stay at Alma de Romero .. it's a place with lot of soul indeed.. :) thanks Fernando!!!
Pros: Great location, great room!!
Pros: Nice views from the room, very clean and well decorated it.
Pros: Met Fernado he is a very good host supplied us with food and drink on arrival rooms fantastic
Pros: Room was well presented, clean and comfortable. Nice to have a fan to keep us cool in the night. Quiet location with a nice walk along the river just outside. The restaurant was wonderful, food was really well cooked and good value. Excellent service.
Cons: It was very nice, however our room was on the main external landing which meant that people could walk past and see in, so we needed to keep the blinds down for privacy.
Pros: Cosy refurbished cottage not far from the sea. The staff are very nice and helpful.
Pros: Nice building next to an old watermill, along an unfrequented local road, so with quiet rural setting. Beautiful modern and elegant room. Bar and restaurant downstairs with outdoor seating. Staff speaking only spanish, but they were amazing, very friendly and helpful!
Pros: Very clean, lady waiter was very friendly.
Cons: Was lead to believe they spoke English and no one did. No one there when we arrived. Rooms had no windows and was very hot, no breakfast until after 11 am and no one there in the morning to return the key.
Pros: Food fresh and excellent. Great shower and bed. Proprietors very welcoming.
Cons: Bottom sheet on bed not quite big enough for the bed.
Pros: Fairly remote location, a couple of km from nearest village. Quiet. Good dinner from the bar downstairs
Cons: No breakfast available
Pros: Room was very comfortable and quiet. Bathroom excellent. Food in the restaurant next door was exquisite ! Staff very helpful and friendly . Hope to return for the Turbot alone !!
Cons: Dinner starts at 21.00 which is a little late for us Paddy's but that said the owner gave us a taste of the goat stew with our drinks around 6 to keep us from perishing and very fine it was !!
Pros: Dinner was v nice
Cons: Although the staff spoke no english they were very hospitable.we are in their country so of course should not speak english but using the internet they could have given us standard info, dinner times, wifi, check in forms?
Pros: An evening meal of Tuna (caught the day before) and Padron peppers grown in the garden. It doesn't come much better!
Pros: A beautiful spot. Secluded, peaceful, very clean and comfortable. The owners were very hospitable and ensured that everything was to our liking despite our lack of Spanish and their lack of English. We had a delightful room with velux windows and a bathroom on a mezzanine. The restaurant served homegrown food, fresh and delicious and the waitress spoke good English. Things in Spain run on a different timescale...dinners often don't happen until 9pm and breakfasts are late. Not a problem if you link into 'Spanish'time

Cons: very expensive dinner, considering the quality of servings. excellent breakfast though
Pros: Great back roads from the ports to the hotel. We were on a motorbike and they very kindly opened up the back yard so the bike was secure over night. Lovely food, though the restaurant doesn't open till 20.30. Fantastic breakfast and the staff were very friendly and helpful especially as we speak very little Spanish. Would definitely stay again.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
Pros: A super hotel with very friendly staff. Great facilities in the rooms (spa bath!) and a good restaurant. Only 40 minutes from the stunning beach at Laredo. Very good welcome and lots of information about the local area.
Pros: Room far to small and noisy with baby crying
Cons: Room Size
Pros: The location was wonderful, with mountains all around and a river running past the hotel. After day 1 we had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the river and mountains. The Soba Valley is spectacular. We were within easy reach of Ramales de la Victoria, a really characterful little town. We also want to see the Cueva de Covalanas with spectacular cave paintings. The food was really good, the staff could not have been more delightful, I loved them all. It was a proper experience of real Spain, and we had fun deciphering menus with the help of the restaurant staff. We got a train from Gibaja to Bilbao to see the Guggenheim Museum: that architecture is spectacular.
Cons: Our first night was spent in a very high room without a view, but after that, we were moved (without asking!) to a much nicer room. The Bilbao so-called hop on hop off bus tour was a joke with broken down buses!

Cons: Everything was fine the room a little smaller than expected but ok

Cons: Our loud neighbours one night
